Royce Reed Shoots Back At Haters For Calling Her Son Gay!

Former Basketball Ball Wives star Royce Reed, is very open about her life and her son’s life on social media. Braylon Howard is the son of NBA baller Dwight Howard.

Royce recently posted a pic on Instagram of her handosme  son, Braylon, showing his flexibility much like his dancer mommy.  I could not believe the comments people posted about how her son must be “gay.” Royce Reed, as expected, defended her son.

Oscar 2013: The Onion comes under fire for calling 9-year-old nominee Quvenzhané Wallis the C-word

Quvenzhané Wallis was the target of an offensive tweet from The Onion's Twitter account Sunday night.

Satirical website The Onion has made it’s name walking the line between the questionable and objectionable in its content. But the Sunday night tweet during the Oscars calling 9-year-old "Beasts of the Southern Wild" star Quvenzhané Wallis a ‘c--t’ obliterated that line as it drew outrage from social media users across the twitterverse.

"Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a c--t, right? #Oscars2013,” it read.

Apparently the Onion wasn't keen on owning up to the outrageous claim as well, as the tweet was hastily deleted after negative reaction started pouring in.

"The Wire" star Wendell Pierce saw it, and called for the Onion staff to identify its culprit tweeter.

The use of the offensive word was met with shock and outrage from social media users.

"@TheOnion Identify the writer. Let him defend that abhorrent verbal attack of a child. You call it humor I call it horrendous," he wrote. "It doesn't matter what the intent was, it was offensive and they should apologize to Quvenzhane."

Pierce’s sentiment echoed around Twitter.

"Assumed I heard wrong," wrote news pundit Keith Olbermann. "No; they DID wrong. Retract, apologize, dismiss."

"Quvenzhane Wallis is a nine year old woman of colour [sic]," one offended user wrote. "Let's let what @TheOnion did sink in and remember that Dakota Fanning never had this."

On Monday, the website's CEO Steve Hannah apologized on behalf of his organization via Facebook.

"On behalf of The Onion, I offer my personal apology to Quvenzhané Wallis and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the tweet that was circulated last night during the Oscars. It was crude and offensive," he wrote.

"In addition, we are taking immediate steps to discipline those individuals responsible.Miss Wallis, you are young and talented and deserve better. All of us at The Onion are deeply sorry."

Ever since the spunky 9-year-old burst on the scene with "Beasts of the Southern Wild," her name has been making headlines. Not only for her work, but because critics and TV personalities have struggled to pronounce her moniker correctly.

With such a heralded young actress, many people think simply bowing out of learning to pronounce “Quvenzhané” correctly is just as offensive as hurling an insult. The Twitterverse also chastised E! host Kelly Osbourne on Sunday for opting to call her "Little Q," instead of attempting to say her name during red carpet coverage.

'It is rude, unprofessional and borderline racist to not even try to pronounce her name properly," one user wrote.

"Aren't you paid to be a host?" wrote another, "Do your research and practice her name. Stupid Kelly Osbourne."

Her name is a hot commodity in Hollywood these days. Wallis scored a hefty role in the upcoming Brad Pitt flick "Twelve Years a Slave," and just yesterday it was announced that she is the new lead in the upcoming "Annie" movie-musical remake.

The attempts to make the nine-year-old a palatable part of Hollywood have only led to more people rallying in support of her uniqueness.  Much like Mia Wasikowska and Gabourey Sidibe, whose names previously stumped red carpet reporters, Wallis’s rising star will make for plenty more opportunities to practice name pronunciation.

Bill O’Reilly Grills Trayvon Martin’s Mom about Al Sharpton, Or at least he tried!

*Bill O’Reilly featured Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, Thursday night on his Fox News program to discuss the Wednesday arrest of George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed her teenage son.O’Reilly, who has criticized the media for “rushing to judgment” about Martin’s case, told Fulton that he was sorry for her loss.

“I can’t imagine the pain you go through,” he said. “So I think all Americans are feeling your pain. And we all want justice in the case…From the beginning, we’ve just called for calm. Let the system work. Let’s not convict Zimmerman on television. Let’s not make these wild charges.”
MSNBC’s Al Sharpton has been a vocal proponent for justice in the killing of Martin, and has organized rallies with the family in Florida through his action network. O’Reilly said that he has called for MSNBC host Al Sharpton to apologize for some of the things he has said. “Was I wrong to say that?” O’Reilly asked Fulton.

Fulton said that Sharpton “also promotes peace,” and that they called for peaceful protests and peaceful demonstrations in their call for justice. “We’ve never asked for anyone to do anything out of the ordinary,” she said. O’Reilly called Fulton, Martin’s father and their lawyer “magnificent,” but said that others around the country have “whipped up emotion.” O’Reilly again said that Sharpton should apologize.
“You want me to comment on that? I don’t know everything that’s behind it. I haven’t been watching a lot of the news. And I haven’t been watching what everyone was saying. So I’m not sure what response you want,” Fulton said.

Fulton’s lawyer Benjamin Crump jumped in and said that O’Reilly and Sharpton should discuss that topic. He added that the demonstrations and protests were necessary to ensure that Zimmerman was arrested.
O’Reilly said that his beef was not with anything Fulton or her family has done, it was only with “convicting Zimmerman on TV.” Crump said that Fulton really just wanted to see Zimmerman have his day in court.“We’re all Americans here. No one wants a 17-year-old son shot down on the street … Mr. Zimmerman doesn’t want to see his son’s life ruined because of this. This is a tragedy all the way around. And we have to handle it with the utmost respect,” O’Reilly said.

POWERFUL! From Earl Ofari Hutchinson: This Time President Obama Literally in Gun Toters Sights

A Facebook photo (posted by Sergeant Pat Shearer of the Peoria, Ariz. police dept.) shows a group of youths in the desert with a bullet-riddled Obama T-shirt.

*The bullet riddled tee shirt of President Obama posted brazenly on Facebook by seven semi-automatic gun toting men among them a Peoria, Arizona police sergeant was much more than the by now standard non-stop litany of racist cartoons, depictions, web postings, and kooky loose talk threats against President Obama.

The gun toting men and the police sergeant were taking target practice on the president’s likeness at an undisclosed desert locale. This is Arizona. The state where many legislators think it’s ok to pack guns in the legislature, and for citizens to openly pack them in public. This is the state where former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was nearly killed in an assassination attempt, and where there’s a wide body of respectable opinion starting with a finger in the face of the president governor, Jan Brewer, that openly loathes the president’s policies and in many cases him personally. The gun toting men made a virtual public call for the gunning down of the president comes on Facebook.

It comes against the backdrop of Secret Service reports that the rate of threats against the President Obama has increased 400 per cent from the 3,000 a year or so under President George W. Bush. He receives dozens of assassination threats continuously, and that number has been steady before and during the campaign and increased after he took office. Federal law is very clear on Threatening the President of the United States. It is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making “any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States.”

The Secret Service has taken the threats against the president seriously and has diligently investigated every one of them. In a few cases, prosecutors have brought charges. But here is the problem, in fact several problems. How seriously do other public officials take them, especially in places like Peoria, Arizona? Peoria, Arizona officials did not suspend the police sergeant pending review and investigation, let alone fire him, or call for a prosecution of him or his gun toting pals. Their weak, duck and dodge response was at worst that he may have violated the police department’s employee conduct rules on the use of social media. There was no immediate response from Peoria, Arizona Mayor Bob Barrett or Peoria, city council persons to calls for them to take action against the officer and men involved.

The Secret Service also has had other worries, namely about staffing. At one point, in 2010 there was a report that in a budget request the Secret Service was understaffed and under-resourced. The Service denied it and insisted it had the resources and personnel to meet any security issue involving the president. But the president’s hands on meet the people routine during his non-stop road travels throughout the country is a constant challenge to any protective and enforcement agency.

The intense concern over Obama’s safety has been intense since he announced he would seek the presidency in February 2007. He had the dubious distinction of being the earliest presidential contender to be assigned Secret Service protection on the campaign trail. This didn’t ease the jitters over his safety. Several congressional members even then demanded that Secret Service officials provide all the resources and personnel they could to ensure Obama’s and the other presidential candidates’ security. They heard the whispers and nervous questions from his constituents about Obama’s safety.

During the presidential campaign in 2008, the flood of crank, crackpot, and screwball threats that promised murder and mayhem toward Obama continued to pour in. This prompted the Secret Service to tighten security and take even more elaborate measures to ensure his safety. This was especially important given the deep doubt and even paranoid suspicion that some blacks have that shadowy government agencies were complicit in the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr, and the fervent belief of millions of other Americans that the CIA or other government agencies were deeply complicit in the killing, if not outright murder of JFK.

There is nothing shadowy or conspiratorial about what police sergeant Pat Shearer and his gun packing friends in Peoria, Arizona did. It was brazen and very open. The clueless Shearer for his part saw nothing inappropriate, let alone, dangerous, about what he did. He chalked it up to much ado about nothing or as he put it he didn’t think that shooting up a t-shirt with President Obama’s face on it “was that big a deal.” It was more than a big deal. The target in their in gun sights, not a regular bull eye, a likeness of Howdy Dowdy, or a Cactus plant. It was President Obama. Federal prosecutors should see it as the “big deal” that it is and bring charges.

68 year old Representative Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.) was overheard discussing the First Lady’s derriere with an unknown party on the other end of his cell phone.

The clincher? The representative attempted to used the size of Mrs. Obama’s “A”zz to criticize her healthy eating initiatives and his “A”zz is quadruple the size of hers…

Sensenbrenner was overheard saying that after buying all their “crap” (his word) a woman approached him and praised first lady Michelle Obama.

He told the woman that Michelle should practice what she preaches, stating — “she lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”
Hold up… hold up… hold up! Did this rolly-polly dude have the nerve to call Michelle Obama a FAT ASS?

Reportedly Sensenbrenner was referring to the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” healthy food initiative and he has openly admitted he doesn’t feel the government should be telling Americans what to eat.
While he may not agree with her initiatives, public outcry regarding his statement has prompted the lawmaker to contact the First Lady’s office to offer an apology for commenting on the size of her “A”zzz.

LeBron, Dwyane, Carmelo, Chris Bosh, Kevin Hart, & More PLAY BALL For South Florida Charity

It was a fab times of giving back for NBA ballrs and celebs at the South Florida All Star Classic Charity game hosted by Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. The Heat fellas and their NBA friends traveled to Florida International University to play in front of fans (who paid $100+ a pop) for FIU's head coach and former NBAer Isaih Thomas' charity.

Kevin Hart played coach to Team Wade (the winners) as the as the “Big Three” made it back on the court together again for the first time since NBA Commissioner David Stern announced the lockout. This time around they were playing for a charitable cause. Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas' charity Mary’s Court, that started in honor of Thomas’ late mother, benefited from this event and was able to donate $100,000 to the scholarship fund at FIU!

Dwyane boo Gabby Union was on hand to cheer him on:

And he made his way to the press table to tell her wassup.

Goodness.

LeBron kicked it with his Team LeBron teammates (who were coached by Udonis Haslem). LeBron’s team included players like Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo and Dwayne’s team included the likes of John Wall, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudimere, Mario Chalmers and other prominent players.

After the game, Amar'e threw out his shoes to the crowd as a little parting gift.

Kevin kicked it with his team.

LeBron's mama Gloria was in full effect in her all white and pink Nikes.

And Carmelo had some fun there too.

Floyd Mayweather was there and other celebs (not pictured) DJ Khaled, Mack Maine, and DJ Clue. And Adrienne Bosh and Chris' daughter Trinity kicked it.

During the press conference, D-Wade mentioned how tonight’s game was like any other game. He said he ate the same Pregame meal, massage and long shooting workout, which is a regimen, he follows for every game. When asked about the lockout, Wade told the press:

"This is very unfortunate, this situation, to be in when you have two sides that at the end of the day have the same goal, just two different ways of getting there.”

He also added,

“...We're here tonight, giving back to our fans and what they deserve and letting them know that no matter what's going on with our situation, we're going to play the game and play at a high level."

Then afterwards,LeBron James And Dwyane Wade joined their fabulous ladies, Gabrielle Union and Savannah Brinson to host a dinner for the South Florida All-Star classic.

Tons of sand celebs are in Miami right now for the South Florida All-Star classic, a celebrity basketball game benefitting Mary's Court Foundation. The foundation was established in honor of FIU coach Isiah Thomas' mother, the late Mary Thomas.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade hosted a dinner for the South Florida All-Star classic at STK in Miami.

They were joined by good friend Chris Bosh, who will also participate in the South Florida All-Star classic.

LeBron attended with his fiancee Savannah Brinson, who complimented his black and white pattern.

And Dwyane was accompanied by girlfriend Gabrielle Union.

Kevin Durant will participate in the game on Saturday.

TRAGEDY! American basketball player dies after savage beating - over a girl - in Romanian bar

An American basketball player has died after he was severely beaten in Romanian bar during a dispute over a girl.
Former Sacred Heart guard Chauncey Hardy died yesterday after suffering two heart attacks following the beating on Saturday night.

The Mediafax news agency reported that Ionut Adrian Tanasoaia attacked Mr Hardy because he wanted to dance with Tanasoaia's girlfriend.

Hardy, 23, had severe head injuries and was in a coma when he was admitted to the hospital.
Hardy died shortly after undergoing surgery in a Bucharest hospital.
Tanasoaia turned himself in to police on Monday.
Hardy played for CSS Giurgiu in southern Romania and was celebrating a victory over rival Dinamo Bucharest in Giurgiu when several men were reported to have attacked him.

'We are deeply saddened by the loss of a fine young man who had his life cut short at such a young age while he was overseas doing something he loved,' Sacred Heart Athletic Director C. Donald Cook said in a statement.
'This is a terrible tragedy and we are saddened as a University and a basketball program,' Sacred Heart men's basketball coach Dave Bike said in a statement.

'This is not just about a basketball player, but the person as well. It transcends what happens on a basketball court. We feel tremendous sadness and loss for Chauncey's family and those who were close to him.'

Hardy averaged 12.5 points for Sacred Heart in 2009-10.

Report: Demi Moore Consults Divorce Lawyer

They’ve kept things pretty quiet since allegations of infidelity surfaced, but now Demi Moore is reportedly preparing to divorce Ashton Kutcher.

According to a report, the “Charlie’s Angels” actress has consulted a divorce attorney in the wake of her “Two and a Half Men” husband’s indiscretions.
An inside source told press,

"Miss Moore has been totally humiliated. On Friday, therefore, she consulted a lawyer about getting a divorce."

"The discussion included her living arrangements and how a divorce would impact her assets,” the snitch continued. Meanwhile, neither Ashton nor Demi have commented on the situation.

New Boyz & Hamilton Park Fight In Philadelphia

The Scream Tour just got started and it features a ton of new artists such as the OMG Girls, Jacob Lattimore, Diggy Simmons and The New Boyz and new R&B group Hamilton Park. However, the two boy groups, New Boyz and Hamiltion Park got into a brawl during their stop on the Scream Tour. During their latest stop in Philadelphia, the two groups were fighting in the streets, while a fan video taped it. Apparently the fight was caused over statements on Twitter by New Boyz’s Ben.

Rihanna touches down in UK after 24 hour stay in Barbados for a funeral... and gives concert the same evening!

It can sometimes be difficult juggling one's personal life with the day job.
And finding the balance can be even tougher when you're an international superstar with tour commitments.
But 23-year-old Rihanna proved that she in a friend in need when she rushed home to Barbados to attend a funeral, hopping on a private jet back to England only hours later so a not to miss the Manchester stop of her LOUD tour.

She was unusually low-key and covered-up as she arrived in Manchester late yesterday afternoon, still dressed all in black and protecting her head from the rain with a brown blanket.

The OK! magazine columnist tweeted later that night: 'At Rhianna concert and Calvin Harris has kicked the night off!!! MEN is bouncing!!! love it.'

The funeral service in Barbados at the weekend took place at St. Lucy Parish Church, according to local paper The Nation.
Rihanna was attending the funeral of Waldric Goodridge, 56, in support of her friend Leandra Goodridge.
The Grammy Award winner was much more conservative in her attire than usual, pairing a semi see-through black top with a knee length black skirt, polka dot stockings and black patent heels.

Rihanna was pictured arriving for the memorial with her mother, Monica Fenty, and several close friends.
The singer has been reserved about the occasion, tweeting '#Rough' on the day but giving no further details about her brief sojourn.
Only hours later she tweeted: 'Back to the UK!!! #takeoff'.
Rihanna stopped in London from only a few days ago and even took the Underground to travel along with some lucky fans to her concert at the O2 Arena.
The laid back star happily posed for pictures as she squeezed into a crowded subway train.
En route to the show, one fan Giselle Green told the Mail Online: 'I was in Rihanna's carriage on the Jubilee line.

'I didn't really twig at first because you wouldn't expect to see a superstar travelling so casually on the tube.
'And she was due on stage in a couple of hours! But then me and my friend realised it WAS her.

Monday Night Football Has a New Voice: Barry Sanders

*After the Monday Night Football guy – Hank Williams Jr. - got fired, who could we expect to perform the nation’s favorite weeknight event?

CBSSports.com’s Will Brinson listed 10 acts that might replace Williams, although it appears that ESPN will be going in a different, less musical direction, at least for the rest of the 2011 season.
On Monday night before the Chicago Bears-Detroit Lions game, former Lions running back and NFL Hall of Famer Barry Sanders will announce the classic line, “Are you ready for football?” Sanders, by the way, told the world on Twitter.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said that, “This is the format we’ll likely use the remainder of the season. We haven’t made any decisions beyond that.”
And it looks like Sanders has won over any competition, with fans and critics welcoming the former star back to Monday night football.

Michael David Smith wrote earlier Friday, “Regardless of what you think of Williams’ comments and ESPN’s response to those comments, we can all agree on this: There’s no one better than Barry Sanders to welcome America to football in Detroit.”

*The not so politically correct Bill Maher took a stand against ESPN for the firing of country singer Hank Williams Jr., who compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler.
Just for a little background, Maher was fired by the same corporation owns ESPN, ABC, after the controversial talk show host made some offensive 9/11 comments. So he knows exactly what it feels like to be censored by the network. He even joked that referring to President Obama as Hitler on Fox News used to be called “The Glenn Beck Show.” But even though he said he hated Williams’ comment, he maintained that ESPN was wrong for firing the singer because censorship should not exist.

Further in his review of Williams’ music, he quoted one of his songs called “If the South Woulda Won”:
- “The day Elvis passed away would be our national holiday.”
- “I’d make my Supreme Court down in Texas.”
- “I’d have all the cars made in the Carolinas, and I’d ban all the ones made in China.”

But something was missing he thought. Panelist (former congressman) Alan Grayson said President Obama wouldn’t have been president. Maher went further and said, “He would not be free.” Whatever the f*ck that meant!

ROYAL CAT FIGHT??? Princess Beatrice Snubs Princess of Thailand

All princesses are not created equal as proven by Princess Beatrice after she rudely rebuffed an invitation to meet the Princess of Thailand while they both sat front row for Elie Saab during Paris Fashion Week.
It is a country where insulting the King is a crime that can land you in jail so perhaps the Thai princess who approached Princess Beatrice at Paris Fashion Week was not expecting such a firm rebuttal.

However, when Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana approached the fellow royal she was unceremoniously stopped by a close protection officer.

To the surprise of the fashionistas lining the front row, after the 24-year-old Thai explained herself but was told by Beatrice’s guard: “She don’t want to meet no princesses. She’s sitting here, not getting up.”

The Asian princess was not amused and was seen to turn on her heel, saying: “Is that the sort of Princess you've got?”

Despite her indignation, the two royals did not meet nor, it is assumed, are they likely to meet happily in future.

The public scene took place at the start of the show by the Lebanese designer, Elie Saab. Princess Sirivannavari is a keen follower of fashion and the Saab show was her fifth at Paris Fashion Week alone.

A spokeswoman for Princess Beatrice said: "The princess's visit to Paris was in a personal capacity. We do not comment on security issues."

Princess Sirivannavari could not be contacted last night.
