Kobe Bryant Covers GQ’s March Issue!

Kobe Bryant covers the March issue of GQ. I wouldn’t ordinarily care, but Kobe comes in and out of celebrity gossip like the wind. I have the feeling that he’s a big-time cheater, and I also have a feeling that his wife Vanessa just stays with him because she likes the “good life.” Which isn’t to say that Vanessa isn’t above yanking his chain and filing for divorce every now and then. But the real reason I’m writing this up is because Kobe gives some quotes about his 2003 sexual assault charge. Remember that? You can see the Wiki for the case here. The charges were dropped, although the young woman did sue in civil court and he publicly apologized to her without having to admit any wrongdoing. That incident still creeps me out and it’s tainted any good feelings I might have about Kobe’s athletic abilities. Anyway, you can read the full GQ piece here. Some highlights:

Kobe on his ego & whether that deters good players from joining the Lakers: “Does my nature make me less enjoyable to play with? Of course. Of course it does. Is it possible that some top players in the league are intimidated by that? Yes. But do I want to play with those players? Does the Laker organization want those specific players? No. Magic. Jordan. Bird. We all would have been phenomenal teammates. This organization wants players who will carry this franchise to another five or six championships. The player who does that has to be cut from the same cloth. And if they’re not cut from that cloth, they don’t belong here.”

He’s not selfish: “I chose to extend my deal with the Lakers to play with Shaquille O’ Neal and win championships. I knew what I could have done individually. I could have gone anywhere and destroyed people. I gave that up to win championships.” B

On Shaquille O’Neal: “He had years where he was lazy. But during those three championships we won? To say he was a beast would be an understatement. To say I didn’t learn things from him that I still use to this day would be a disservice.”

His religion helped him through his 2003 sexual assault case: “I started to consider the mortality of what I was doing. The one thing that really helped me during that process—I’m Catholic, I grew up Catholic, my kids are Catholic—was talking to a priest. It was actually kind of funny: He looks at me and says, ‘Did you do it?’ And I say, ‘Of course not.’ Then he asks, ‘Do you have a good lawyer?’ And I’m like, ‘Uh, yeah, he’s phenomenal.’ So then he just said, ‘Let it go. Move on. God’s not going to give you anything you can’t handle, and it’s in his hands now. This is something you can’t control. So let it go.’ And that was the turning point.”

Does he have friends? “I have ‘like minds.’ You know, I’ve been fortunate to play in Los Angeles, where there are a lot of people like me. Actors. Musicians. Businessmen. Obsessives. People who feel like God put them on earth to do whatever it is that they do. Now, do we have time to build great relationships? Do we have time to build great friendships? No. Do we have time to socialize and to hangout aimlessly? No. Do we want to do that? No. We want to work.”

He seems… tightly wound. That’s what people always say about Kobe. That he’s basketball and nothing else, that he never really developed as a person beyond the game. As for Kobe’s priest asking him point-blank if he assaulted a woman and asking after his legal team… well, all that made me think of was the fact that a lot of priests have been needing legal representation in the past few decades. And of course Kobe’s big life lesson out of that moment was “let it go.” Ugh. Professional athletes.

BeyHive Buzzing Over Leaked Beyonce Photographs

Several untouched pictures of Beyonce were leaked this morning, setting the Internet into a judgmental frenzy. The images first appeared on TheBeyonceWorld.com, a website that claims the photos are from a shoot B did for L’Oreal two years ago.

“In 2013, Beyonce shot commercial and ads for L’Oreal’s Feria & Infallible campaigns. We have added some exclusive outtakes from the shoots’ set. 

Folks were quick to judge America’s Queen, with one Twitter user writing that “she looks like a cigarette smoker” and another quipping, “and the #Beyonce fans are always calling #Madonna old.”

The website has already yanked the images down, claiming some of King Bey’s fans were furious over the leak. However its a story and we're NOT taking these down!

“Due to the disdain of the BeyHive, we have removed the photos. We don’t want to cause any drama, nor do we wish to start fan wars. Some of the things we have seen posted were just horrible, and we don’t want any parts of it. We were just posting the photos to share the fact that our queen is naturally beautiful, at the same time she is just a regular woman.”

WHO IS AFROMAN and Why he PUNCHED A Woman on stage?

Who is Afroman? I will admit never heard of him until now because of this video that went viral – where you see Afroman punching a female fan during a concert at a Biloxi, Mississippi, nightclub on Tuesday.

Via that nasty HATEFUL SandraRose: The rapper, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, was promptly arrested outside the nightclub after he left the stage.

Fan videos show Foreman, 40, playing an electric guitar while an apparently inebriated (drunk) fan sauntered onstage to dance with him. When the woman backed that thang up on Foreman, he turned around and brutally sucker punched her, sending her crashing to the stage and knocking out two of her front teeth.

The woman was treated at a hospital and released, Police told WLOX Foreman was charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor. Foreman’s rep told Billboard that his behavior “was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space.” The rep added: “It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces.” The rep noted that Foreman didn’t know if the fan was a man or a woman, and that he thought he was under attack.

Amber Rose Writing A Book About Double Standards?

Amber Rose the author?  The model will be writing a book soon, about double standards in the industry and much more. Not only will the book address double standards, Amber will also write about standing up, encouraging and empowering one another and maybe some tea….?? Amber says she has always been the underdog, and she is sick of the double standards in our society. 

Earlier today the socialite posted a text message on her instagram, replying to her good friend, where she says “I can’t wait until my book comes out. They’re gonna learn that fuckin day lol.”

We are hoping she spills some tea in this book- but stay tuned.  The text post came after a video clip from her most recent gig and trip to the 2015 Carnival, in  the video she is grinding and dancing on a party-goer having fun, and captioned the post

Miss P the beagle won Westminster KC’s Best in Show: She’s grumpy & gorgeous!                                

I watched the Westminster Kennel Club’s Dog Show and while I loved all the pooches. My money was on the Newfie in the Working Group, but the Portuguese Water Dog won that group. And then the beagle from Hound Group won best in show. Incidentally, I just discovered that the Westminster Kennel Club has an Instagram, so now I know what I’m doing with my day: LOOKING AT ALL THE PUPPIES.

So, the winner: a beagle who goes by Miss P, although her full name is Ch Tashtins Lookin For Trouble. Miss P – who looks totally over this mess – already has 19 Best In Show titles. I’ve heard she’s a real bitch. Star Magazine said she has fleas. So hateful

Real-Life Empire: Terrence Howard Says Ex-Wife Is Sending Death Threats On Instagram!

Art often imitates life and Terrence Howard is living proof of such a phenom.

Taraji P. Henson, his TV wife on the hit show Empire, can’t stand his character’s guts and the same can be said for his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent.

You may remember Ghent for being the wife who showed back up from a Costa Rica vacation with a prize-fighter shiner on her right eye. How it got there was never specified in a court of law so we won’t go there. Where we go, however, is the latest allegations that Ghent has been Instagram stalking Howard and his current wife, Mira Cristine Pak.

Reports TMZ: “Empire” star Terrence Howard doesn’t just have a TV ex-wife threatening him, he has a real life one he says is targeting him for death … and the LAPD is on the case.

TMZ has obtained a search warrant to determine if Michelle Ghent is behind a barrage of Instagram threats, including, “I’m watching you! I’m coming for … LOL. You two won’t live to see your children.” The “you two” appears to refer to Terrence and his new wife.

Another Instagram post warns his wife, “Your husband is cheating on you! Just thought you should know.” The message was sent with a photo of Terrence and another woman.

And there’s this … there’s a pic of a pill bottle that belonged to Terrence with the caption, “Oh dear, look what I found. Do hope you refilled. It’s one of the things you can’t leave home without.”

The LAPD claims in the search warrant affidavit, there’s reason to believe Michelle is behind the postings. One reason … the Instagram accounts have no followers except for her.

The LAPD got a judge to sign the warrant and they have gone on the hunt to find out if she’s behind it.

Terrence says he’s been getting nasty posts for a year … and he filed a police report because he believes she’s the culprit.

Michelle tells TMZ, she did not send the messages and claims the LAPD has talked to her and she’s no longer a suspect.

The LAPD says it’s still an open investigation.

Azealia Banks: Sometimes I Want To Die Because I’m Dark Skin

At this point, it’s safe to say that Azealia Banks is becoming more known for her social media rants than her music. This past weekend, she got into a back and forth with Erykah Badu of all people. And this year, has spent countless hours bashing Iggy Azalea and TI among others.

Her latest topic includes the treatment of dark skin women by men.

“I don’t care what anyone says: men in general despise dark skinned women. They hate us, and they treat us like dogs, then turn around and ask why we’re mad. Seriously … the treatment I get for being a dark skinned woman just makes me want to lay down and die sometime. It’s sooooooo fucking hurtful.”

Banks didn’t go into specifics about what prompted the emotional digital outburst, but do you all agree with her?

IT’S OFFICIAL! Kevin Hart & Eniko Set Wedding Date For Summer 2016

Kevin Hart and and his fiancée Eniko Parrish have decided when they will walk down the aisle for their upcoming nuptials. And they’re looking to exchange their “I Dos” next summer.

In a recent interview with Power 92.1’s radio personality Paris Nicole, Kevin revealed he and his “rib” are looking to exchange their vows in the summer 2016. He dished,

“We’re probably going to shoot for the summer of 2016, that’s what we’ve been talking about.”

The Struggle is REAL: Vanilla Ice Arrested Stealing Furniture From Vacant Home

Florida has enough crazies running around to be worried about former struggle rappers adding to the police paperwork, but Vanilla Ice happened the other day, nonetheless.

The 47-year-old personality born Robbie Van Winkle was busted raiding a vacant house in Lantana, FL like your average run-of-the-mill house squatter.

Via TMZ:Vanilla Ice has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft for allegedly stealing furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other stuff from a vacant home in Florida.

Lantana PD tells TMZ … it’s all connected to Ice’s TV show, “The Vanilla Ice Project.” Ice was renovating a nearby home and allegedly thought it was a good idea to go to the abandoned place and take the items in question.

Apparently, even though the house was vacant, the rightful owner had a problem with someone jacking their belongings … thus the burglary charge.

The cops got a search warrant and recovered some of the items.

This is good publicity for the existing Vanilla Ice Project, but nobody will care regardless. Just saying.

Man Who Threatened President Obama Via Twitter Sentenced To Year In Jail!

Last summer, an Alabama man made the foolhardy choice of threatening President Barack Obama via Twitter. After getting a visit from the Secret Service, 26-year-old Jarvis Britton apologized for his outbursts. However, a second round of threats this past September landed Britton a year in federal prison.

The New York Times reported on the fate of the Birmingham native, who claimed he was drunk when he made the death threats. “Let's Go Kill the President,” tweeted Britton. “I think we could get the president with cyanide! #MakeItSlow.”

In June, Britton was prosecuted in his home state, and because of his repeat offenses, he left officials no choice but to hit him with a jail sentence. “Because of the repeated threats on Twitter, we took him seriously,” said prosecutor Joyce White Vance, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Alabama.

Britton wasn't alone in using the fast-moving social media network to hurl violent words towards Obama. Donte Jamar Sims of Charlotte, N.C. was sentenced to six months after tweeting he wanted to “assassinate president Obama.” Daniel Temple of Ohio is awaiting a sentence after tweeting threats of a similar sort as well.

The Secret Service tracks Twitter and other social media channels for such threats, with a group of agents known as the Internet Threat Desk. In 2011, the agency created a Twitter account specifically aimed at reporting threats such as the ones made by Britton and the others as well.

“We get information from many sources. Social media is one of them,” said agency spokesman Brian Leary. “We have the right and certainly the obligation to determine a person's intent.”

Janet Jackson Dishes On New Project & Love For Kendrick Lamar

Janet Jackson is working on a new project.  Woot!  Nope, she didn't let her brand new (secret) marriage and recent muslim conversion halt her music career.

She told Billboard on the anniversary of her janet album yesterday about her new project, the artists she's feeling, and how she feels about being two decades in with one of the most iconic albums (7x platinum) of all time.

May 18 marks the 20th anniversary of "janet." How would you describe what that album captures about your life at that time?

I can’t believe it is already 20 years! I always write my music based on what is going on in my life at the time. I wanted to allow people in... I want my fans to really know me. The ‘janet’ album was sexual and I was beginning to really discover that side of me.

There are musical references and direct samples of janet. songs all over the place now, most notably on Kendrick Lamar's "Poetic Justice." Have you heard most of these re-interpretations (Moon Boots' "Sugar," which samples "If," How To Dress Well's cover of "Again," MNEK's "That's The Way Love Goes" etc?) And how does it feel to see your work have such impact on new artists?

I have listened to the music that is out there and I love Kendrick’s "Poetic Justice." There are artists, true performers that have come before me who have been a big inspiration to me. I hope I do the same for others.

Several of the songs on janet. and their accompanying videos were groundbreaking at the time for their overt sexuality. Why was it so important for you to express that part of yourself in your work, and how did you convince others around you at the time to let you take those risks?

Like I said before, I write about my experiences or things that touch me deeply. I was really beginning to get in tune with my sexual self. This is what I wanted to express so I did. The decision to move forward in an artistic way is mine. I didn’t need to convince anyone.

The videos and tour for "janet." featured some iconic choreography from Tina Landon, most notably on 'If.' Do you have a favorite dance or video from that period?

Tina Landon and Omar Lopez choreographed "If". I love "That’s The Way Love Goes," "You Want This" and especially "If." I don’t think people really realize what we were showing in that video that wasn’t available with technology then. The video featured futuristic technology, specifically high definition touch screens. I wanted the actors in the video to use these screens to communicate, and relate with each other in the clubs. Similar to what we all do with our smart phones and tablets today. As I look at our lives now, it seems that life is imitating art. I have seen different elements from all of these videos in lots of artists work and it’s a great feeling to know that you have inspired them in such a way.

Many artists cite you as a role model and a huge influence on their career and image. Which artists today do you admire?

I'm flattered that other artists consider me a role model. I’m really enjoying what Bruno Mars and Adele are doing, a lot of artistry there.

And she says about releasing her first project since 2008's Discipline:

“I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music.  I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it… I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process.”

The cast and their celeb friends came out for for the premiere and afterparty for Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious 6" premiere at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Hollywood.

Tyrese used the carpet for some pub and brought his music acts out--Ginuwine and Tank from TGT and Lyndriette Kristal Smith, his new artist he's mentoring it seems.  He's brought her on many-a-carpets lately.  And we all know how the mentee/mentor relationship usually ends up.  Mmmhmmm....

Ludacris brought his fab girlfriend Eudoxie out as his date as she rocked a white hot dress.

And he remained the gentleman as he gave her his coat at the afterparty.  Awww.

Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa made an understated appearance at the premiere.

2 Chainz rocked all white and hit the carpet, then performed at the afterparty.

Rocsi Diaz kept it colorful in this cute multi-print cocktail dress by Clover Canyon and orange platform Jimmy Choo sandals.

"BBW LA" hottie Gloria Govan showed off some major cleavage (and that's either double sided tape or nipple piercings under that sheer top) with her NBA baller hubby Matt Barnes.

Skylar Diggins Gifted With A Benz As A Graduation Gift From Jay-Z

Last month, Jay-Z and his Roc Nation Sports agency swiped up Weezy’s college basketball crush Skylar Diggins as one of their new talents, and it seems as though they are treating her very well. After Skylar received her degree from Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business this weekend, she was gifted with a brand spanking new Mercedes Benz and a handwritten note from Jay.

She shared a photo of the new whip, still wrapped in a bow, on her Instagram with the caption:

According to docs, filed in family court in Georgia, Porsha claims Kordell has locked her out of their residence on multiple occasions … and she had to have her lawyer beg Kordell’s people for a key.

Sources close to the situation tell us Kordell isn’t playing ball — and hasn’t forked over a key.

But there’s more … according to the docs, Porsha tried to work things out with Kordell in a mediation session, but she claims he blew the whole thing off … and called it a “waste of everyone’s time.”

Porsha wants a judge to force Kordell to either allow her to use the house … or pay her enough cash so she can get a “suitable alternative residence.”

Sources tell us Porsha is currently living with her mom in ATL — guess she feels it’s just not a “suitable residence” for a grown woman.”

Well Kordell has now responded to the claims. According to legal documents obtained by HipHollywood, Stewart went on to clarify that he changed the locks after the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star abandoned the residence on April 2.

“(Porsha) established a routine of leaving (the) pre-marital residence without explanation and without consideration of the detrimental effects such behavior would have on the parties’ marriage, and (Kordell’s) nine year old son,” the Civil Action File states before revealing that Stewart also notified Williams via text message reading;

“Hey reaching out not knowing who may or may not have keys to the house at this point, I was concerned for our safety so I changed the locks on the house. If and when you need to get in give me a heads up so you can get in.”

Since experiencing the abrupt changes at her former estate, Williams has reportedly resorted to staying with her mother. The former couple currently have a temporary hearing scheduled for June 10.

Mannie Fresh Recalls Kanye West Wanting A Deal At Cash Money

Mannie Fresh has known Kanye West a long time, even before West became a bona fide producer nearly a decade ago. "He actually came to Cash Money looking for a deal," Mannie Fresh says in an interview with DJ Vlad. "I've been knowing him since then."

Fresh and West met when West was working with rapper Mikkey Halsted, whom Cash Money eventually signed. At the time, West was without production equipment, so Fresh says he lent the Chicagoan his. "This was my first introduction to him," says Fresh, who considers West one of the great producers. "The only thing I could say is that it was a blessing because he came back and looked back. Without knowing him, I just felt like he was a good dude and lent him some equipment or whatever to do what he had to do and he never forgot about it."

Earlier this year, Fresh signed a song deal with West.

Though they are both producers, Fresh says that he and West have different work practices. "I'm better at being in a studio with somebody than sending them beats," as West often does, Fresh says. "That's just not really my thing, but everybody's so used to that, so that's the standard. I'm more of like, 'Hey, dude, let me get in the studio and let's see what we come up with.'"

As for his work with Mystikal, Fresh says that the material the two recorded will not come out on Mystikal's forthcoming Young Money Records album, but that they will "mysteriously come out."

Chris Brown Receives Multiple Death Threats

Chris Brown manages to perform at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards despite receiving numerous death threats.

The misfortunes of Virginia crooner Chris Brown continue to mount as news of various death threats the singer has received have begun to surface. According to TMZ, Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, received a number of anonymous phone calls at his office threatening the singer’s life.

Specifics on the nature of the threats remain scarce, but were taken “very seriously” by Brown’s lawyer.

Authorities were immediately contacted by Geragos and the threats are currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Geragos previously represented Brown during both the arrest and trial that stemmed from his 2009 assault on fellow singer and former girlfriend Rihanna.

Despite news of the death threats, the singer still managed to perform at The Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas and even went on to send a handful of Tweets following his performance.

Mario Announces New Single With Nicki Minaj, “Somebody Else”

Reginae Carter is on her way to high school, and her parents, Lil Wayne and Toya Wright, were in attendance to watch her graduate from 8th grade this week. Toya’s husband Memphitz and Wayne’s girlfriend Dhea were on hand for Nae’s exciting day, along with Birdman, Mack Maine, and more of their family and friends.

Reginae posed alongside her mom who wrote; “I’m so proud of my angel.  Honor Roll student on her way to highschool.  Beauty and Brains. #proudmama”

After graduating from GWU with a degree in Theater back in 1998, the "Scandal" star brought her new found Hollywood power back to her alma mater this morning to deliver the commencement address.  She tweeted:

In town for the NuvoTV up fronts, JLo shacked up at Marc’s fave spot, ironically named The Mark. Her boyfriend was back in Los Angeles, but her ex was in town for the Telemundo up fronts, and stayed at the Upper East Side spot as well, according to a source.

“She previously stayed at The London, so it definitely seemed suspicious,” an insider tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. “The London is almost two miles closer to where the up fronts are, so it seemed like she was just staying at The Mark to be closer to Mark.”

And while the former spouses were too busy to organize any public time together this week, they have a history of secret rendezvous at that hotel.

Back in January, JLo sent Casper out of town just in time for her to meet up with her ex for two hours at The Mark, as RadarOnline.com previously reported.

Marc split up with his girlfriend, Shannon de Lima, shortly after that.

Marc and JLo will be reunited again on the big screen when her 3D movie Dance Again premieres later this year. The movie covers the couple’s divorce drama and ongoing relationship.

Mary J. Blige Slapped With $3.4 Million Tax Lien

Queen of R&B singer Mary J. Blige has been hit with a $3.4 million dollar federal tax lien.

According to TMZ:

Mary J. Blige‘s financial woes have QUADRUPLED — on top of the $900k she allegedly owes the Garden State, TMZ has learned MJB has been slapped with a $3.4 MILLION bill from Uncle Sam.

The IRS filed a federal tax lien against the Grammy winner, claiming she failed to pay all her income taxes for the years 2009 ($574,907.30), 2010 ($2,203,743.53) and 2011 ($647,604.60).

Tax bill grand total: $3,426,255.43: Translation: A LOT OF FREAKING MONEY

Of course, the IRS needs to get in line … the State of NJ says MJB still owes $901,769.65 in back taxes. Blige is being sued for allegedly defaulting on a $2.2 million bank loan and her charity is facing a lawsuit that claims it took out a $250k loan and never paid it back

Lil Mouse Reportedly Threatened To Kill A Third-Grader

Lil Mouse hit with an assault charge after slapping and then threatening to kill an eight-year-old student.

The family of a third-grader in Chicago may be forced to leave their home due to threats the eight-year-old reportedly received from teen rapper Lil Mouse. FOX 32 News reports that the boy’s grandmother contacted authorities immediately after she received word that her grandson had been slapped and threatened by Lil Mouse.

"The students, the eighth graders have grouped up together…made a phone call and said he's snitching, He need to get killed for snitching…One of the young men's' father threatened me outside the school. I wanna move [cause] he threatened me and I believe that he's going to go through with it,” the woman revealed to Chicago’s FOX 32 News.

Following the incident last week, Lil Mouse was questioned by police and also charged with assault.

The third-grader has been granted an emergency transfer from the school, but his grandmother, whose son was killed in 2009, hopes to fully remove her family from the situation.

"I wanna pack up and just go. I've already lost one child and I don't want to lose another one," the woman shared.

Lil Mouse, who boasts affiliation with fellow Windy City rapper Chief Keef, garnered buzz last year thanks to the release of “Get Smoked” a record that went on to receive a co-sign from Lil Wayne in the form of a remix.
