Chris Brown Barred from Leaving Philippines Over Cancelled Concert
Singer Chris Brown is being detained by the Philippines government after a religious sect accused him of canceling a concert without returning their deposit last year.
It is a known fact that some hip hop artists don’t take their professional commitments very seriously. We often read news reports about celebrities (mainly hip hop artists) being sued for taking money upfront and reneging on their promise to perform concerts.
So it’s a mystery why troubled singer Chris Brown ventured into the Philippines on Tuesday knowing he owed a religious sect money for canceling a concert there in 2014.
The influential Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ), says Brown cancelled a concert on New Year’s Eve last December 31.
At the time, Brown’s management claimed he couldn’t get a passport to leave the U.S.
Brown and his entourage are being detained at an unknown location until the matter is sorted out.
“We would appreciate any assistance you can provide to us (against) producers and talents who employ such fraudulent schemes to obtain money from legitimate businesses in the country,” wrote Glicerio Santos, the sect’s COO, in a letter to Philippines Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
Brown’s camp reached out to the U.S. embassy for help in getting him out of the country.
But the justice department ordered Brown to prove he didn’t owe any money to the religious sect before he could obtain clearance to leave the Philippines.
The frustrated singer (who is probably off his meds again) took to social media to rant and blame others for his latest woes.
“When u tired of the fucking devil ruining your life and u hear God speak for the first time. No one knows what I deal with on a day to day,” Brown wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
He added:
“The average man wouldn’t hesitate to blow his fucking brains out but that’s the cowards way out… Most won’t understand the genius and beauty in change and learning and the people who have devilish intentions will win in the short term. My soul will always be pure of heart. What’s on the surface always looks like one big party but inside there is a little boy looking for help and guidance. People say “be a man”. Yeah, that’s right but it doesn’t take away any pain you really go through. I just wanna stay out the way and do music. Most importantly and great father. I don’t have any more patience for anything that will cause me to self destruct!!”
Brown’s Tarazana, CA. mansion was recently burglarized by 3 masked gunmen while his aunt was home alone.

Awwwwwwww NAH Anthony Hamilton & Wife Tarshá Announce They Are Divorcing
It's over between "Can't Let Go" singer Anthony Hamilton and singer-songwriter wife Tarshá. The couple, who would have celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary next month, are calling it quits.
One of the last public outings for the couple was Fantasia's baby shower in October 2011, then a red carpet appearance in early 2012 (above).
Tarshá confirmed the news via press release saying,
Tarshá and Anthony’s greatest priorities are loving and raising their three children and are committed to co-parenting together. Both will continue to work in tandem on various music projects including Tarshá’s upcoming debut “Sounds Like Tarshá” which will released on Pennie Bank Productions.
The release, sent from her camp, stated that she would "continue her work in music, healthcare and community service as a strong single mother."
Interestingly, in a 2013 essay written by Tarshá called the Power of Adapting, which was part of the anthology Where Did Our Love Go: Love and Relationships in the African American Community, she wrote about the hardships of her and Anthony's marriage while juggling six kids:
Since the twins were born, the time that we gave to each other was forwarded to them. So we ended up doing the thing we said we wouldn’t do, and kind of ended up neglecting each other. Sometimes because you’re giving so much to the kids, you find yourself too tired even to put in the effort. He’s a very hands-on dad. So it was taxing on us. He wanted to do things his way, and I wanted to take care of them my way, so we found ourselves arguing more than agreeing.
My marriage could have easily taken a fall if I continued to struggle with being an artist and not being able to do what I want to do, and if I continued to resent my husband because I felt I was stuck home with the children.
What I’ve come to realize is that I am a part of his success, because my presence allows him to go out and tour with peace of mind, knowing his family is taken care of, that the children are being loved by their mother. The house becomes home and it’s beautiful and peaceful, and he can come home to a meal or to whatever. I’m a part of this machine, I’m a part of this working and that’s the big picture.
Sad news for the man whose music is on everyone's wedding reception playlist. He's been busy traveling around the world performing. His next stop is the 2015 Summer Spirit Festival in Columbia, Maryland August 8th.
Meanwhile, Tarshá has been hanging out back home in Charlotte with Fantasia. She also says she plans to release an album Fall 2015.

Azealia Banks on Action Bronson's Beef With Ghostface: "I Want To See Him Get F*cked Up SO Badly"
Just when you thought the hot summer Ghostface Killah promised Action Bronson yesterday had cooled off in light of Action's apology for his incendiary comments disparaging the Wu-Tang vet, Azealia Banks comes through to stir the pot. But the traditionally outspoken (usually on Twitter) rapper has a point. After tweeting and deleting an especially graphic shot at Bronson this morning, Banks reminded everyone of the time she and Bronsolino exchanged petty words on Twitter late last year.
But where Action was quick to apologize after Ghostface's Tedy-fueled manifesto, in his spat with Azealia, he continued with increasingly vulgar replies. Of course, Action Bronson might just have more respect for Ghostface Killah, a veteran whose legacy he's propped several times in the past, than Azealia, irrespective of gender. But regardless, the exchange was in poor taste and he didn't come close to copping the kind of apologetic plea that he sent towards Tony Starks. Instead, he tried to reach out through decidedly private means—after, you know, publicly shaming her body, music, and making assumptions she wanted to have sex with him—and only publicly backed down when Azealia called him out for it, once again on Twitter.
Meanwhile the media coverage in no way demeaned him the same way it did when say, Snoop Dogg came after Iggy Azalea. We'll see if her reminder spurs an overdue, sincerer apology or if Bronson only concedes to Wu-Tang members. Peep her tweets

In addition to acting in films like Top Five and hawking things like liquor, weaves and waist trainers on Instagram, we think "LAHH ATL" starlet Karlie Redd has a new crush. The reality diva was spotted with R&B singer Lyfe Jennings at Tongue & Groove.
We snooped both of their social media accounts and this is one of the first times we've seen them out together so.....they could be "friends" or maybe this is something very fresh and new. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Trashed on Twitter for Taking Shot at ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement
Stephen A. Smith is no stranger to controversy, but it seems he may have met his match on Twitter.
The ESPN commentator was taken to task Tuesday on the social media site after he weighed in on the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
He followed it up with more tweets, including, “I’m a black man. Of course I know #BlackLivesMatter. You can’t boo a presidential candidate just b/c he says ‘all lives matter’.”
Then Smith tweeted: “I didn’t hear Gov. Martin O’Malley’s interview. And I’m not debating the significance of “Black Lives (cont).” He was referring to “Black Lives Matter” protesters who booed Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley off the stage Saturday at the Netroots Nation Conference — a town hall for liberal activists. Along with his tweet, Smith included a link to a statement on Twitlonger.
“I didn’t hear Gov. Martin O’Malley’s interview. And I’m not debating the significance of ‘Black Lives Matter.’ I’m a BLACK MAN! I know this,” his Twitlonger statement said. “Nor am I focusing on O’Malley’s words or context itself. That’s really not the issue to me. The issue is: as much as attention was so desperately aimed towards ‘Black Lives Matter,’ where is all this noise when Black folks are getting killed in our communities every single day? Does it only matter when we’re getting killed OUTSIDE OF OUR COMMUNITY, by folks who look differently than us?”
His comments didn’t go over too well on Twitter, where users took him to task.
“No man. No. Don’t do this,” responded rapper-songwriter Talib Kweli.
“Stephen A Smith isn’t a lot of things but he certainly is stupid,” tweeted another detractor.
While a third added, “I am so bewildered at Stephen A Smith. So disappointed.”
The response to Smith’s comments was overwhelmingly negative, but not everyone disagreed with what he had to say, including former talk show host Montel Williams, who tweeted: “@stephenasmith may well have just whacked a hornet’s nest but he’s right…”
“Stephen a smith was speaking facts in his tweets yall are just too ignorant to understand,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another chimed in with, “Stephen A. Smith is the man.”

Dawn Richard Shows Off Her NAKED Vegan Body In Latest PETA Ad, Says Dad's Cancer Diagnosis Sparked Lifestyle Change
If you've ever wanted a reason for "body envy" just have a quick look at Dawn Richard's Instagram. Her body is ON POINT. Now here's the next question....how'd she get so fit? Her secret (at least in part) is the VEGAN life. In a video shared by PETA, Dawn talks about making the switch.

As PETA revealed, vegans are less prone to developing heart disease, strokes, diabetes, cancer, and obesity than meat-eaters and Dawn's father has been diagnosed with cancer. She said,
“[M]y whole life has changed. I get up earlier, I want to exercise, I feel better, my skin feels better —and these are things I didn’t even know [about vegan eating], coming from the south, coming from New Orleans.”
