Sanaa Lathan on those pesky Beyoncé Biting Rumors: ‘I Would Never Do Anything Malicious'
Sanaa Lathan isn’t bothered by the rumors linking her to #WhoBitBeyoncé.
The actress, 46, appears on the cover of Health‘s June issue where she breaks her silence on how she felt about reports that alleged she was the actress who had bit Beyoncé at a JAY-Z concert afterparty. The wild story gained steam in March when Tiffany Haddish recalled her version of the events but refused to name the attacker.
“I think it’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever been involved with,” Lathan told the magazine. “Thank God I’ve been in this business for 20 years and have had so many rumors about me. They used to devastate me in my 20s, but in order to survive in this business, you just have to let it roll.”
The actress continued, “I adore Beyoncé. I would never do anything malicious like that—to her, or to anyone. It’s so bizarre. I thought it was the funniest thing ever that it was a news story. It’s so crazy.”
Lathan was one of the women who attended the show the night Haddish said the incident occurred. In December, Lathan shared video from the concert on Instagram, filming the rapper performing his 1997 hit “Lucifer” which features the lyric: “In the Maybach Benz, flyer than Sanaa Lathan.”
The actress denied the claims on Twitter after the story blew up, writing, “Y’all are funny. Under no circumstances did I bite Beyonce and if I did it would’ve been a love bite.”
Haddish revealed her version of the story in an interview with GQ in which she went into further detail about how her selfie with Beyoncé came about.
“Beyoncé stormed away…went up to JAY-Z, and was like, ‘JAY! Come here! This bitch—’ and snatched him. They went to the back of the room. I was like, ‘What just happened?’ And Beyoncé’s friend walked up and was like, ‘Can you believe this bitch just bit Beyoncé?’ ” the Girls Trip actress said.
But when Haddish offered to fight the biter for the singer, Beyoncé told her to relax and took a selfie with Haddish instead, according to the comedienne. The shot, in which the singer is hiding a portion of her face behind Haddish’s hair, went viral in December — though the crazier version of events was yet to come.

In the last episode of the reunion show for season 9, Porsha confessed: “It is difficult because I love Phaedra. She was like my best friend — someone I talked to on the phone every single day. And for me to feel like she had betrayed me like that. … And the fact that I was sitting right there and watched her continue to lie on me about it. That is the part I cannot get past, and I do not know if I ever will. Right now, I just can’t talk to her.”

Some reports suggest that Phaedra might return to the show. Only Time will tell!
#Empire: Recap “Fair Terms” Empire
Last week saw the long brewing confrontation between Lucious and Shine that resulted in Shine’s death. Of course Lucious is all about keeping up appearances, so he decides to arrange an Empire Records tribute to the man he just murdered. I am consistently unsure whether I should be impressed with Lucious’ diabolical antics or disgusted – I usually settle somewhere in the middle.
At said tribute, Shine’s niece Nessa shows up to perform a song. It has been an entire season since we have seen Nessa, but the last time we did see her was when Cookie slapped the daylight out of her – so you could say it wasn’t exactly a joyous reunion.
After the tribute, Lucious approaches Shine’s wife about taking over his now-empty seat on the Empire Board of Directors. She informs Lucious that she isn’t interested, and that Shine always intended for Nessa (of all people) to take the seat should anything happen to him. This is a huge problem as Andre informs Lucious that Anika and Eddie have been plotting a takeover. Their plan? To convince the board that Eddie is the kind of stable leadership that Empire needs.
Cookie tracks down Nessa and stops just short of apologizing for assaulting her. Nessa is still angry and makes it clear that she has no intention of helping Lucious and Cookie with the board. Lucious steps in to sweeten the pot: he offers Nessa a spot in the upcoming Empire House event. She then agrees to help, but assures them that it is only because Shine would want her to.
Elsewhere, Eddie and Anika are plotting a devilish plan over Chinese food – as one does. Eddie asks Anika to find dirt on an Empire artist that they can use to their advantage. On a quick side note: can this season be the last we see of Anika and Eddie? That would be a real blessing.
At the Empire House event, things are going off without a hitch until one of the screens suddenly displays a troubling image: a young Blake (the label’s newest rapper) doing a white supremacy salute with his father. The crowd is in an uproar and the Board of Directors are furious – Eddie’s plan went off without a hitch.
Blake tells Hakeem that he regrets taking that photo and was forced into it by his father. Hakeem doesn’t want to hear any excuses and kicks Blake out of the event.
As Lucious and Cookie are scrambling to figure out their next move, Tiana tells them that the press has already picked up the story and everyone is shaming Empire for profiting off of a racist rapper. Eddie appears backstage and asks if there is anything he can do to help, but Lucious quickly dismisses him by stating that nobody wants to hear what he has to say. Unfortunately, the Board of Directors do want to hear what Eddie has to say.
It is unclear exactly what has gone on between Eddie and the board until he takes the stage to address the press and assure them that Blake’s contract with Empire is finished. He then takes a moment to thank the Board of Directors for “giving (him) the power” to make such decisions. Lucious is hysterical and violently grabs Eddie on stage, but lets him go as he is reminded of the many flashing cameras.

#HipHopNews: Lil Wayne Announces 4th Annual Lil Weezyana Fest
Lil Wayne’s “Lil Weezyana Fest” is back for a fourth year.
This year’s celebration will take place on Aug. 25 at Champions Square in New Orleans. So far, Tunechi hasn’t announced any guests, but a flyer indicates that he will headline the concert once again.
But Wayne won’t just be headlining the show. He will be performing a special 10-year anniversary set in honor of his landmark album, Tha Carter III, which featured smashes like “Lollipop,” “A Milli,” “Mr. Carter,” “Mrs. Officer,” and more.
The Young Money boss has headlined every Lil Weezyana Fest thus far, starting with a special performance in 2015, when he reunited with the Hot Boys and brought Drake out as a surprise.
In 2016, Wayne headlined the event alongside 2 Chainz. This was shortly after they dropped their collaborative ColleGrove LP. Last year, he headlined the show, which featured performances by Gucci Mane, Rich the Kid, Monica, and Jadakiss.
Before his Lil Weezyana Fest goes down, Wayne will celebrate his past work at Hot 97’s Summer Jam in New York. Tunechi will perform songs from the Carter series at the event, which will be headlined by Kendrick Lamar.
Chris Brown Sued By Woman, Claims She Was Raped At His House
Chris Brown is the subject of another lawsuit. This time around, a woman going by Jane Doe, says she was raped at his home, according to TMZ.
Doe claims that the incident took place in February 2017. “Our client was invited to attend an ‘afterparty’ at a recording studio to meet defendant [Lowell] Grissom, also known as Young Lo, and defendant Chris Brown,” said the defendant’s lawyer, Gloria Allred. “When she arrived at the studio, her phone was taken away.”
Afterward, Doe alleges that she was “forced” to go to Brown’s home, “because she perceived that she would only be able to retrieve her phone there.” She claims Brown supplied guests with cocaine, molly, and weed before the night took a violent turn. Allred called it “one of the most horrific sexual assault cases” that she’d ever seen.
Doe claims that one of Brown’s unnamed female friends grabbed her by the throat when she tried to leave and that she forced her to perform oral sex on Grissom. The woman also “literally sat on [her] face, using her legs to pin [her] down while forcing [her] to perform oral sex on her,” according to the report. The woman was allegedly menstruating at the time. Additionally, Doe says that the female friend forced her and other women to “hook up” with Brown and Grissom after blocking the door with a couch.
Doe also alleges that Grissom walked into the bathroom while she was showering, pushed her onto a bed, and raped her. Later, he reportedly raped her again after holding her against a washing machine. The woman reportedly went to a rape treatment center and filed a police report after the incident. Allred said that her client “has been severely traumatized by what she was forced to suffer.”
Chris Brown has yet to address the incident. He is currently gearing up for his “Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour,” which kicks off June 19.

Spotify Removes R. Kelly Music From Its Playlists As Part of New Hate Content & Hateful Conduct Policy
Last month, Tom Joyner announced he’s down with the #MuteRkelly boycott. Now Spotify also joins the boycott.
Spotify pulls the plug on Kellz’s music. That’s according to Billboard reports, Beginning today (May 10), Spotify users will no longer be able to find R. Kelly’s music on any of the streaming service’s editorial or algorithmic playlists. Under the terms of a new public hate content and hateful conduct policy Spotify is putting into effect, the company will no longer promote the R&B singer’s music in any way, removing his songs from flagship playlists like RapCaviar, Discover Weekly or New Music Friday, for example, as well as its other genre- or mood-based playlists.
“We are removing R. Kelly’s music from all Spotify owned and operated playlists and algorithmic recommendations such as Discover Weekly,” Spotify told Billboard in a statement. “His music will still be available on the service, but Spotify will not actively promote it. We don’t censor content because of an artist’s or creator’s behavior, but we want our editorial decisions — what we choose to program — to reflect our values. When an artist or creator does something that is especially harmful or hateful, it may affect the ways we work with or support that artist or creator.”
“When we look at promotion, we look at issues around hateful conduct, where you have an artist or another creator who has done something off-platform that is so particularly out of line with our values, egregious, in a way that it becomes something that we don’t want to associate ourselves with,” Jonathan Prince, Spotify’s vp/head of content and marketplace policy, tells Billboard. “So we’ve decided that in some circumstances, we may choose to not work with that artist or their content in the same way — to not program it, to not playlist it, to not do artist marketing campaigns with that artist.”
Woah Vicky sent violent Threats To Snoop Dogg
Woah Vicky desperately tried to earn herself some street cred by threatening Snoop Dogg while brandishing a firearm, but it may only get her ass in jail because cops are now looking into the threats.
The Marietta Police Department in Georgia is aware of the now-deleted video Woah Vicky posted on her social media earlier this week.
The video shows the 18-year-old waving around a firearm that appears to be a submachine gun alongside two male friends shouting various obscenities and threats directed towards Snoop Dogg and DJ Drama. It’s unclear what their beef is with Snoop, but he’s probably not the person you want to pick a fight with.
A spokesperson for MPD says detectives are aware of the video and are currently reviewing it. We’re told it’s unclear if Vicky actually committed a crime, but detectives are currently looking at the situation to determine if a full investigation is warranted.
In the video, Vicky and her friends shout incoherently: “F**k you, Snoop Dogg, p***y b***h … you probably got AIDS with your old ass … you look like a Chihuahua with your old ass!”
Vicky’s friend then threatens to “piss on [Snoop’s] face” while holding a baby bottle in front of his crotch. Someone mumbles “cap yo ass” and Vicky’s friend threateningly says, “DJ Drama I’m in your city b***h, come find me.”
This would be Waldrip’s second brush with the law – she was arrested in February after allegedly assaulting a police officer in the middle of a mall fight.
Vicky may have realized her misstep, because she’s already apologized for the threats. Snoop responded too, mocking the girl for her weak attempt at riding his coattails.
50 Cent Throws Shade at Diddy After Mogul Lays Off A Third of Revolt Employees
Never one to stay silent on hip-hop-related news, 50 Cent gave his two cents on Sean “Diddy” “Love” Combs’ Revolt Media layoffs.
News broke Tuesday, May 8 that the Combs-owed media and TV company is laying off a third of its staff in a restructuring effort to focus on content production operations, Variety reported. About 50 staff will be given the pink slip and operations will be focused in Los Angeles while a sales office remains in New York City.
“We will work with more outside voices, producers, and influencers while maintaining a strong editorial core in-house,” Revolt CEO Roma Khanna said in a memo obtained by the industry website. “We will also create a more healthy and stable business base from which we can grow. And we continue our proud record of being over 65 percent culturally diverse and nearly 50/50 gender balanced.
“Change can be difficult,” Khanna added. “This move is about strength and growth. As one of a very small handful of networks owned and controlled by the African-American community, we need to ensure we remain fiscally strong so that we can continue to authentically represent the culture.”
Once 50 Cent caught wind of the five-year-old company’s impending changes, he decided to offer Combs some business advice.
“l can fix this if you need help, but you can’t be acting like no punk around me man Damn!!! 😡get the strap. #Lecheminduroi,” Fiddy said in a now-deleted IG post.

Redmond O’Neal The Son of Farrah Fawcett & Ryan O’Neal has been Arrested for Robbery
The troubled son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal has been arrested again … this time for an alleged robbery.
According to the LAPD, 33-year-old Redmond was arrested Tuesday in Santa Monica. The details of the arrest are currently unclear.
The arresting document notes that his bail would have been $50,000, however he is currently being kept in custody on a probation hold and therefore being denied bail.
Redmond has had many legal troubles over the years, and was most recently sentenced to 3 years in prison back in 2015 after a judge from a previous case revoked his probation. He was originally arrested for heroin possession in 2008 and has violated probation multiple times since.
Remond’s half-sister, Tatum O’Neal, has also publicly voiced her concern over his well-being.

The 37-year-old popped the question to his partner of eight years on Wednesday night (May 8) at the Hyde Sunset in Los Angeles.
Karamo brought Ian to the restaurant under the assumption that they would be celebrating his birthday, but to Ian‘s surprise, Karamo had set up a party filled with their closet friends, family members, and Karamo‘s two sons.

President Donald Trump, who has fiendishly fanned the flames of racial animosity during his tenure in the White House, is suddenly prepared to start a national discussion on race — and he wants his favorite dart-board target, Colin Kaepernick, and his favorite hip-hop supporter, Kanye West, to join him at the summit.
Pastor Darrell Scott of Cleveland, who said he is an “outside adviser” to the president, told People that the president has agreed to participate in a series of meetings on race that will include athletes and artists.
“He is 100 percent for it,” says Scott, who said he had spoken with Trump. “He was very enthusiastic about it. It’s not going to be a Black-only event. It will be a melting pot.”
Scott also told the entertainment magazine that Kanye West, who has publicly stated admiration and support for Trump, has been invited. The concept of a summit was born some time ago. However, Kanye’s recent incendiary and racially tinged tirades may have hastened the process, Scott says.
Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback Trump vilified for being the first to kneel during the national anthem, has also been asked to attend.
“Maybe he should find a country that works better for him,” Trump said of Kaepernick last year, adding the extremely inflammatory statement that NFL owners should “fire the sons of b—-es!” who joined the maligned quarterback in taking a knee during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner.
Scott told People that he will be a part of the organizing team and that invitations will also be extended to Jim Brown, also a Trump supporter, as well as Evander Holyfield, Herschel Walker and Mike Tyson.
Trump will reportedly be in attendance, a move that Scott says will help people understand the president better.
“I want them to see and know the Donald Trump I know and they will say, ‘This guy isn’t who I’ve been lead to believe he is.’ ”

Ariana Grande and Mac Miller have amicably split but will remain friends, PEOPLE confirms.
Miller, 26, and Grande, 24, first went public with their relationship in September 2016 — three years after they collaborated on her hit single “The Way.”
The rapper and the singer decided to go their separate ways as their busy schedules became too much for the pair to continue as a couple, according to TMZ.
More recently, Grande walked the red carpet of the 2018 Met Gala solo wearing a strapless Vera Wang ball gown featuring a painting of Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgment,” which can be found at the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.

But she has spent years in silence on social media. Now, however, she has reappeared in a single photo.
When we say that she is unrecognizable, we are not exaggerating.
But we have to remember that, since we last saw her in 2016, Angel has had a lot of time to lose further weight and to adjust to her new figure.

Trump Announces Details Of Meeting With Kim Jong Un
Trump and Kim Jong Un Will meet on June 12 in Singapore.
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will take place on June 12 in Singapore.
The revelation follows Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s second visit to Pyongyang to meet with North Korean officials. Trump said Wednesday that a date and site had been set, but declined to reveal the details.
The Trump administration has worked for months to bring the reclusive regime to the negotiating table. Enlisting China in helping spearhead the denuclearization dialogue, Trump has successfully set up the first face-to-face meeting between North Korean and American leaders.
Kim Jong Un has also met with the leaders of China and South Korea to discuss regional security, resulting in the two Koreas declaring an official end to the Korean war.
Kim expressed support for the “historic meeting,” calling it a first step toward the “building of a good future” on the Korean Peninsula.
In another sign that negotiations with the North Koreans are progressing, Pompeo returned to Washington, D.C., early Thursday with the three Americans that had been held captive in North Korea.
