SADNESS! Brownstone Singer Charmayne Maxwell Dies After Fall!

Some sad news to report! Charmayne Maxwell -- part of the 90s R&B group Brownstone died after a mysterious fall according to reports verfied through TMZ. Charmayne was attending a soccer game in Denmark on Saturday when she fell ... according to a Danish media outlet ... which described her death as an "accident." She was married to Danish music producer Carsten Soulshock.

No further details at this point about the fall and exactly how she died -- but Charmayne's friends have been reacting on social media. Fellow Brownstone member Teisha Brown said, "I just need to be by you 1 more time on stage MAX!" No official word from Nicci Gilbert at the time of posting. But many are posting on her Twitter feed.

The three original members of Brownstone were Monica "Mimi" Doby, Charmayne "Maxee" Maxwell and Nichole "Nicci" Gilbert. Founded in Los Angeles, the singers met each other after attending various auditions around the city. They formed the group and were signed to Michael Jackson's MJJ Music record label less than a year later. The group soon recorded its debut album From the Bottom Up, which spawned the hit single "If You Love Me". In 1995, the group earned a Grammy Award nomination and a Billboard Music Award.

After extensive touring around the globe, Doby left the group for health reasons; in an interview with BET Video Soul host Donnie Simpson, the problem was cited as bronchitis. The cause of her split from the group was later said (in radio interviews) to be internal strife with the other two members. She was replaced by Kima Cosper of Detroit; after a difficult transition period, Brownstone made a brief showing with the single "5 Miles to Empty" and the new album Still Climbing. In 1998, Brownstone was featured on the soundtrack for the film The Players Club with the song "Don't Play Me Wrong".

Back in 2008 during a K-Ci and JoJo concert Jo Jo collapsed on stage mid-song and his brother K-Ci kept right on singing.

Welp, the same thing happened recently and Jo Jo did the same thing again...

Another Soul Crooner has passed! Singer David Peaston Dies at 54

It is with great sadness I report that R&B/gospel singer David Peaston has passed. He was 54. Unfortunately, as of this posting, details of his death are not available. However, according to postings on his Facebook page, he died on Wednesday.

According to his Wikipedia page, Peaston won a Soul Train Music Award in 1990 for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist. He is mostly known for the singles, “Two Wrongs (Don’t Make it Right)” and “Can I?”, the latter of which was originally recorded by Eddie Kendricks.

In the late 1980s, Peaston, a former schoolteacher, born in St. Louis, won several competitions on the Showtime at the Apollo television show, winning over the audience with a powerful rendition of “God Bless the Child.”

Peaston was diagnosed with diabetes and had his legs amputated, forcing him to use prosthesis. He leaves behind a wife and children! We pray PEACE over their souls at this time.
