R.H.o.A Phaedra Parks Defends Derek J’s Weave Stealing Case In Court!
Attorney Phaedra Parks of The Real Housewives of Atlanta went to court to represent Derek J, who is being accused of ‘stealing’ the weave right off of plaintiff, Benita Williams’ head!
The plaintiff, Benita Williams, was not represented by counsel and chose to present her claims herself.
If you recall, Williams alleges that Derek J. ‘stole’ her weave when he uninstalled it from her head and replaced it with some ‘sub-par’ hair. Her suit, filed last July, alleges:
I had my sew-in taken out to be reinstalled. Derek led his team to steal my hair, then Derek installed used cheap hair in my head. He (Derek) also encouraged other stylists to steal my hair.
It was revealed in court by Attorney Phaedra Parks that Derek had filed a counterclaim against Ms. Williams, alleging slander & defamation and that Derek J. had been presented with a settlement offer on his claim.
What’s weird about this entire situation is that Benita Williams’ insurance actually SETTLED Derek’s countersuit for an undisclosed amount prior to the original complaint ever being heard.
The parties were instructed to mediate and apparently Williams was demanding THOUSANDS for her hair and the defendant wasn’t agreeable to her outrageous demands.
Since mediation efforts stalled, the parties decided to go forward with the case. The plaintiff and her crew head off to one side of the waiting area, while Derek J. and his attorney goes to the other.
It was said that ‘housewife’ Porsha Williams was on ‘standby’ to appear as a weave expert.
As the parties head back in to the courtroom to proceed, things get even weirder!
Before the case is even called, Williams begins shaking in the courtroom and making noises. She seems like she’s going to pass out A bailiff guides her to her seat and she then seems to faint before making it to her seat.
Williams was loud and aggressive when she thought Derek might settle with her, but when it appeared that her case would actually go forward, she crumbled!
Whatever the case, the judge noticed her antics and asks Phaedra if she would be agreeable to reset the court date. They agree and now Williams has a bit more time to get her case together and possibly get an attorney. *sigh*
On the flip side, it also gives Bravo time to get clearance for their cameras to be in the courtroom…

As the snap-chap videos from the party began to circulate online one particular video showed a male guest cheering on Khloe Kardashian while appearing to rub a powdery substance on his gums.
A closer look at the video reveals the person in question is actually Dorion Holley from the BET reality show College Hill.

Kadeem Hardison REUNITES With "A Different World" Castmates For His 50th Birthday!
Kadeem Hardison, who stepped into our hearts in the iconic role of Dwayne Wayne on "A Different World," turned 50 this past Friday. While kids might know him as Zendaya Coleman's father on the current Disney show "K.C. Undercover," to us, he'll forever be the nerdy guy in flip-up glasses who got the girl!
Whitley and Freddie...we mean Jasmine Guy and Cree Summer. They're still close to Kadeem and they all got together to celebrate his milestone.

OMG! NFL’s Damond Powell, Jr. shot in the face during drive-by shooting at his home
Damond Powell, Jr. was attacked by three masked men during a drive by shooting. According to Toledo News Now, Powell was at home in Toledo with friends when the shooting occurred.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., a gold car with three masked men drove near Powell’s home and the men began firing shots in their direction. Powell was shot in the face during the attack.
He was rushed to the hospital and doctors say his injuries aren’t life-threatening. Police have yet to make an arrest in the attack.
Powell was a standout player at the University of Iowa and is a rookie wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.
‘Key and Peele’ call it QUITS on top rated show
Sad news for fans of the hit Comedy Central show “Key and Peele.”
Series stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have decided that the fifth and current season of their wildly popular sketch comedy show will be their last.
“This is our final season – and it’s not because of Comedy Central, it’s us,” Key said. “It was just time for us to explore other things, together and apart. I compare it to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. We might make a movie and then do our own thing for three years and then come back and do another movie.”
Since its 2012 debut, the half-hour series has slowly but surely built momentum going from relatively unknown to becoming one of Comedy Central’s most bankable programs. This year alone the show received seven Emmy nominations including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nod for Key.
“There will be Key and Peele productions coming up,” Key assured. “We’re doing the reboot of Police Academy, and there’s a TV show in the works that we might do for Comedy Central. There’s lots of stuff we have cooking up.”
Fans can also look forward to the big screen adaption of their classic “Substitute Teacher” sketch as it’s recently been green-lit by Paramount Pictures
“Key and Peele” airs on Comedy Central on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. est.
#SAYHERNAME! The Death Of Alabama Teen Kindra Chapman Shares Unnervingly Similar Details To Sandra Bland
Lengthening the list of sudden and questionable deaths of black suspects in the hands of police custody, Kindra Chapman comes to surface.
According to Business Insider, Alabama police authorities claim to have found the 18-year-old “unresponsive” only an hour after she was booked into the Homewood police department jail cell on a first-degree robbery charge for an alleged cellphone theft. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead as authorities believed the death to be caused by asphyxiation, claiming that she hung herself with a bed sheet. However, authorities did not notify her mother, Kathy Brady, of the death for over an hour after she was discovered.
Several protestors met the sketchy details with defiance, especially considering Brady’s email to AL.com where she stated that she believes police killed her daughter. Protests flared in front of the Homewood jailhouse on Tuesday (July 21) where Chapman died, resulting in six arrests.
What police are reporting in Chapman’s fatality fall disturbingly close to Sandra Bland’s case, in which authorities claimed that the Chicago woman killed herself in police custody as well. Both were reportedly found hanging in their prison cells, and the details of the alleged suicides in the two cases were delayed by jail staff and authorities. The recent video of Bland’s death also challenged the allegations of her death provided by the police.
Due to the similar suspicion in Chapman’s case, organizers have created a petition on Change.org for the teen. “We call for full disclosure and a full accounting of all of the interactions between Kindra Darnell Chapman and the Homewood Police Department,” the description of the petition reads. “This issue is brought up because of the scant information that has been released on such a serious matter through the media. We feel there are consistent and persistent patterns of police mistreatment in the state of Alabama that are not always addressed particularly as it pertains to Black Women.”
Homewood police have released a statement including that the reports, details, jail footage and statements regarding Chapman’s death are currently being sent to and reviewed by Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review.
