Wendy Williams & Nene Leakes Have FINALLY Ended Their Feud!🤔😁🥱
The feud between Wendy Williams and NeNe Leakes has officially ended, with the pair reuniting in NYC. Over the weekend, the talk show host shared a sweet photo with the Real Housewives of Atlanta star. The three sat at a table together with Madina Milana in the center.
NeNe also shared photos of the pair hanging out together, hinting as to how they reunited. She wrote:

When you get the call that says…Sis, let’s get off the bullshit and get on some real shit. OVERCOMING (I’m just saying it how it was said) This nite right here, was a movie! No No you don’t understand, A REAL MOVIE @wendyshow LISTEN, every week i get a call from someone advocating for this to happen. IT HAPPENED! @erndukes you did dat??
Reportedly, tension between the two began in 2014. There appeared to be tension brewing when NeNe was on Dancing With the Stars.
Wendy weighed in on NeNe’s participation on the show, warning the reality star not to be an ‘angry black’ girl. In 2015, it was rumored that there was a confrontation at the Woman’s Expo in Atlanta, involving Wendy’s now estranged husband Kevin Hunter.
Well it looks like both women have moved forward and are leaving the past in the past. I guess!

The Daily Buzz For July 8 ☕📰☕

Julia Roberts for Marie Claire Australia - August 2019
She reveals: There was method in the madness. Hollywood A-Lister Julia Roberts has reflected on the state of the film industry, saying it was more “methodical” 30 years ago.
At 51, Roberts’ successful career has spanned decades since her breakout roles in Pretty Woman and Steel Magnolias.
But in a new interview with Marie Claire magazine on stands today, the Oscar-winning actress explained how stars can “come from nowhere”.

“Things have changed a lot — it’s different now,” she told Marie Claire.
“When I started, there wasn’t any social networks, the internet barely existed, people couldn’t take photos with their mobile phones. There were logical stages of career progression.
“You did a film, if it worked you’d have a chance to work again. If your second film was a success, you could get a better pay cheque and another new role. Now someone can come out of nowhere and achieve incredible things, which I imagine is very destabilising.

“Building a career was a lot more methodical 30 years ago.” Roberts now has the luxury of picking which roles she chooses as she balances a career, marriage to cinematographer Danny Moder and her three children.
“It’s not just about me,” she said. “My husband and I avoid working at the same time. So there are my projects, Danny’s projects, the kids’ school calendar — organisation is basically maths,” she said.

#RHOA: Did Nene Go On A Date With Another Man?
She recently hinted at Gregg having inappropriate relations with a female employee. NeNe Leakes posted a cryptic Instagram photo of her getting cocktails with someone on Friday, July 5, that fans think was not her husband Gregg. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star hinted at him having inappropriate relations with a female employee late last month.
NeNe, 50, shared a close up Instagram photo of a cocktail next to a mysterious caption.
"Thanks for the cocktails!" she wrote. "Nice of you, we should have done this a long time ago." NeNe did not tag the person she was referring to in the snap.
This made fans think she stepped out on her 20-plus years long marriage to Gregg, 63.
NeNe may have been out with talent manager and producer Steven Grossman. The two exchanged funny messages in the Instagram post that alluded to him being the other person.
The RHOA star recently hinted at marriage troubles with Gregg when she talked about a situation revolving someone having an inappropriate relationship with a female employee. NeNe said she was "asking for a friend" when discussing the matter with her fans but some of them believed it was going on at home. In the past NeNe has threatened to divorce Gregg in the past but they patched things up as he underwent chemotherapy for his cancer diagnosis. Gregg announced that he was declared cancer free on June 3, 2019.

#STAR: Lee Daniels Says ‘Star’ Will Return As a “Movie Of The Week”
Lee Daniels’ long battle to find a home for his canceled Fox series Star seems to have taken a new and bigger twist today.

In a video post on social media Friday, the Oscar nominee announced that the axed musical drama will be returning as a “movie of the week to wrap up things up for y’all,” after three seasons on the Rupert Murdoch-owned network.

“Get ready for a two-hour gag!!!!!” Daniels wrote on Instagram.

A post shared by Lee Daniels (@leedaniels) on

Daniels did not reveal any details about where the Star finale would appear. An obvious assumption would be that a telefilm would be on Fox, which also is wrapping up Daniels’ Empire next year. Of course, one has to take into account Daniels is a Class A hype man, and news of Star‘s resurgence could be mere wishful thinking.
Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox TV and Fox Entertainment have not respond yet. About a month ago, Daniels promised that viewers “have not seen the last” of Star and vowed to create “closure” for fans of the show. While today’s announcement confirmed “the bad news that Star is not going to be picked up for series” — which Daniels noted is “too long a story to sort of cry about” — it did hint at an MOW endgame.

The series starring Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady and Ryan Destiny, and debuted in December 2016 with Season 3 of Empire as a lead-in.

Co-created by Daniels and Tom Donaghy, it focused on the chart-topping ambitions of its core trio while addressing such hot-button topics as class, gender and assault.

#USWNT Megan Rapinoe Helps the US Women win the World Cup!
United States captain Megan Rapinoe poses with the Golden Ball after winning the 2019 Women's World Cup.
It has been the summer of Megan Rapinoe. In so many ways, on soccer fields and off them. But most of all on them. And Rapinoe now has plenty of hardware to show for her brilliance.

Not only did she captain the U.S. to her second World Cup title and the nation’s fourth; she won awards for top scorer and best player at the 2019 tournament.
Her three assists lifted her above White. Morgan also had three, but Rapinoe tallied hers in fewer minutes played.

Morgan had the early lead after five goals against Thailand. Rapinoe only bagged one that day. But she converted two penalties against Spain in the Round of 16. She scored on an early free kick and again in the second half in a quarterfinal victory over France. After missing the semifinal with a hamstring injury, she ascended above Morgan and White in the final.
Rapinoe also won the Golden Ball, awarded to the tournament’s best player, via a vote – and via common sense. She was the U.S. catalyst, the hero when it mattered most.
Rose Lavelle, the USWNT’s breakout star, won the Bronze Ball, with England’s Lucy Bronze, ironically, taking silver. And Lavelle, if you were putting odds on the 2023 Golden Ball race, would surely be the early favorite.

But for now, Rapinoe is on top of the mountain. She is soccer’s queen. The 2019 World Cup has propelled her to new heights. She will forever be an icon, for soccer reasons and many others.

Adam Sandler pays tribute to late co-star Cameron Boyce
Adam Sandler posted a heartfelt tribute to late Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce on Sunday following news of the 20-year-old’s death.
“Too young. Too sweet. Too funny,” Sandler, 52, began on Twitter. “Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world.”
Sandler, who played Boyce’s father in the “Grown Ups” films, also thanked Boyce for “all you gave to us.”

“So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences,” Sander concluded.
A spokesperson for Boyce’s family told ABC News that the “Descendants” star had “passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
In addition to Sandler, Zendaya also shared a few words on her Instagram story Sunday, writing, “Absolutely heartbreaking, my heart goes out to his friends and family.”
“Descendants” director Kenny Ortega also honored Boyce’s memory in an emotional post.
“My Love, Light and Prayers go out to Cameron and his Family. Cameron brought Love, Laughter and Compassion with him everyday I was in his presence. His talent, immeasurable. His kindness and generosity, overflowing,” Ortega penned on Instagram. “It has been an indescribable honor and pleasure to know and work with him. I will see you again in all things loving and beautiful my friend. I will search the stars for your light. Rest In Peace Cam. You will always be My Forever Boy!”
Boyce portrayed Carlos, the son of Disney villain Cruella de Vil, in the “Descendants” franchise.

“From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work,” a spokesperson for Disney Channel told Page Six in a statement.
“He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, castmates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”

Chris Brown’s Baby mama Nia Guzman says the report that he owes her child support is NOT TRUE!
There’s no bad blood between Chris Brown and ex Nia Guzman, who is the mother of his daughter Royalty.
Although he’s expecting another child with another ex-girlfriend, Ammika Harris, it appears he and Guzman are on good terms. After a report surfaced that Brown was accused of not paying child support for his and Guzman’s 5-year-old daughter, Page Six reached out to her for a comment.

Upon seeing our request, Guzman vehemently defended the “Loyal” rapper and said he isn’t behind on any payments.
“Not true! All is great on our end!” she said. “Please stop with the Chris Brown bashing.”
She added, “It’s just sad that negative things hurry and try and get published! We are just tired of it.  … He does pay and is not behind what so ever [sic].”

A rep for Brown also confirmed to Page Six that the lack of child support is not true.
“Chris has been taking care of his child and he and his daughter’s mother have no issues,” his rep said.

Meghan Markle glows in Dior at baby Archie's christening
Being a new mom clearly suits Meghan Markle. The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex looked incredible at her son, Archie's, christening on Saturday, wearing an elegant white Christian Dior quarter-sleeve dress, which she paired with a white fascinator and Cartier earrings.

Her dark locks were pulled back in a sleek bun and her makeup consisted of light eye shadow, blush and a nude lip. The Duke of Sussex, on his end, looked dapper in a beige suit with a baby blue tie and white button-up shirt.
The proud parents were all smiles in the official family photo, which also included Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, Prince Charles, Camila, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, Kate Middleton -- in a delightful pink Stella McCartney dress -- and Princess Diana's sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.
Archie's christening took place in a small, private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle. The official photos were released shortly after the intimate ceremony.
Meghan has laid low since the birth of Archie on May 6, only attending the Trooping the Colour parade on June 8 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's birthday, and making a surprise appearance with Harry at the first-ever regular season Major League Baseball game in London between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox on June 29. Meghan looked lovely as ever at the baseball game, sporting a belted black Stella McCartney dress.

She also stepped out on Thursday to watch her good friend, Serena Williams, in her round two match against Slovenia's Kaja Juvan during Wimbledon at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.

Starbucks Apologizes After Six Tempe Officers Were Asked To Leave For Making A Customer Feel “Uncomfortable”
A group of six Tempe police officers were reportedly asked to leave an Arizona Starbucks by a barista after a customer complained.
The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, July 4th at a location on Scottsdale and McKellips roads.
A statement from the Tempe Officers Association says the officers paid for their drinks and were congregating in the coffee shop. When they were approached by a  barista and said that they were making a customer “feel uncomfortable.”

Allegedly the officers were then asked to move out of the customer’s sight, or they’d have to leave, and the officers decided it was time to go.
The incident has since sparked a #DumpStarbucks trend on social media. While the Tempe Officers Association said in their statement that they understand that this is not a national Starbucks policy:

“This treatment of public safety workers could not be more disheartening. While the barista was polite, making such a request at all was offensive. Unfortunately, such treatment has become all too common in 2019. We know this is not a national policy at Starbucks Corporate, and we look forward to working collaboratively with them on this important dialogue.”
A corporate representative from Starbucks says it is looking into what led up to the incident and that the company has a deep respect for police and the service they do for the community.
Saturday evening, Starbucks issued an apology. In a letter addressed to the Tempe Police Department, the executive vice president of Starbucks apologized on behalf of the company for the experience the six officers had during the July 4 encounter.

“When those officers entered the store and a customer raised a concern over their presence, they should have been welcomed and treated with dignity and the utmost respect by our partners (employees),” Rossann Williams said. “Instead, they were made to feel unwelcome and disrespected, which is completely unacceptable.”

Williams said no customer should have the experience the officers had, and that Starbucks is taking the necessary steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

Billionaire Financier Jeffery Epstein Arrested For Sex Trafficking Minors

Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire financier with major Hollywood and political ties, has been arrested on charges of sex trafficking of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005 and is scheduled to appear in a New York court on Monday.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, this arrest comes 11 years after the billionaire plead guilty to state charges for solicitation of prostitution and was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

In the latest charges against the money manager/ financier, it is alleged that employees and friends procured dozens of underage girls, as young as 14, for Epstein, who clearly understood they were under 18. The charges claim, Epstein paid the girls in cash for “massages” but later sexually assaulted or abused them. According to law enforcement, some victims of the scheme went on to become recruiters for Epstein, themselves.

Eleven years ago, Epstein was able to avoid federal charges. At the time, he was accused of working with personal assistants who lured underage girls back to his home in Palm Beach, Fla., under the guise of asking for “massages” and then sexually assaulting or abusing them and paying them between $200 and $1,000.
Later, his sentence was reduced to a mere 13 months, with one year of parole; while incarcerated, Epstein lived in the private wing of a county jail and was able to leave confinement for 12 hours a day to go to his office for work.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the highly unusual non-prosecution agreement forestalled an FBI investigation into further victims, offered immunity to co-conspirators and kept the deal a secret from the alleged victims.
Since then, Epstein has continued to socialize with the Hollywood Elites, names including Katie Couric, George Stephanopoulos, Chelsea Handler, Woody Allen, and Britain’s Prince Andrew, The Daily Beast reported in 2017.

Before his sentence, the billionaire was known to hobnob with Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Chris Tucker, Kevin Spacey,  Woody Allen and Mort Zuckerman. A high powered donor to the Clinton Foundation, Epstein reportedly flew the former president overseas in his private jet multiple times; Spacey and Tucker also flew out to Africa on Epstein’s Boeing 727 for “charity work.”

Jay-Z’s Companies Sue NYC Licensing Company For Fraud
Jay-Z’s business entities have sued a New York City licensing firm, claiming it cheated the companies as part of a “colossal accounting scandal.”
In the lawsuit, Jay-Z’s companies accuse Iconix Brand Group Inc. of lying about its finances when it made deals with the rapper’s Roc Nation apparel company.

When Roc Nation entered into a brand partnership with Iconix in 2013, the defendant was fabricating their financial reports to falsely inflate its earnings, according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in state court in Manhattan.

According to ABC News, the allegations arise “out of a massive years-long fraud perpetrated by Iconix and its affiliates to amass a portfolio of trademarks under false pretenses, in the process defrauding its licensees and partners, and setting off a colossal accounting scandal the depths of which are still being uncovered,” the suit said.
The scheme “sent its share price from a peak of more than $400 per share in 2014 to less than a dollar today,” the suit also claimed.

The lawsuit also claimed that Jay-Z’s companies “have incurred substantial legal expenses in connection with, among other things, the federal government’s investigations into Iconix’s massive fraud.”
Jay-Z was questioned behind closed doors last year about the fraud allegations by the Securities and Exchange Commission. At the time, his lawyers stated that they didn’t believe he had any relevant information to share with SEC investigators.

As the plaintiffs, Jay and his companies are seeking payment of legal fees and unspecified damages.

Is The New Live Action 'Mulan' a Musical?
The first teaser trailer for the live action Mulan debuted earlier today (July 7), and some things seem to be missing.
In the minute and a half long clip, there is no hint at any of the songs from the original animated film, and it has left fans going crazy.
Director Niki Caro opened up in a 2017 interview about whether or not the film would be a musical.

“Yes, from what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children,” she told Moviefone, adding, “It’s a big, girly martial arts epic. It will be extremely muscular and thrilling and entertaining and moving.”

It is being reported that songs from the animated movie will be included in the new live action remake, but they will be featured as instrumentals, and will NOT be sung by the cast.
Some of the famous songs include, “I’ll Make a Man Out Of You,” “Reflection,” and “Honor To Us All.”

Mulan won’t be the first Disney live action remake to exclude music from it’s animated counterpart. 2015′s Cinderella, starring Lily James and Richard Madden, and 2019′s Dumbo, starring Eva Green and Colin Farrell, were both non-musicals.

Be sure to check out Yifei Liu in the first teaser trailer for Mulan!

Khloe Kardashian Responds to Fans Who Say Spends Money on 'Worthless Materialism'
Khloe Kardashian is defending herself on how she spends her money.
The 35-year-old reality star took to Instagram on Saturday (July 6) to share a cute video of daughter True, 14-months-old, riding around in a mini sparkling, pink Bentley – and was quickly called out for spending money on “worthless materialism.”

“Great, another kardashian in a Bentley. You guys are so oblivious to how your excessive spending looks to the outside world,” one fan wrote. “I really loved your family’s story and now just can’t bare to watch as you spend all this money on worthless materialism. It’s so sad.”

Khloe replied, “Ummm you know this is not a real Bentley? It’s a toy. No reason to get sad over a baby in a toy car. Either way I’m sorry you feel that way but I hope you have a great weekend! Focus on things that make you happy! Smile.”
The fan responded, “Appreciate your responding. Just figured it’s something to be thinking about. You have so much influence and know you’ve had a positive impact on so many. Always ways we can improve as people, though – myself 100% included.”

Khloe then commented back, writing, “I appreciate this! I am able to digest what you have to say because how you stated it. I hear you. I personally don’t believe that all we ‘do is spend money on worthless materialism.’ I’m not here to prove what I do or don’t do. But what I can say is that I’m able to look myself in the mirror and sleep well at night. I’m able to do that because I know I’m a good person and life is all about balance.”
Khloe continued: “Yes, I do choose to my spoil my daughter. I want to spoil her with love and as well as material items. She will also be raised with values, responsibilities, chores, respect, self love…We all work hard and we are able to spend our money in the day that we choose. I hope that’s what comes across to ‘the outside world,’ to lead with love about anything else.”

The Daily Buzz For June 11 ☕📰☕

Queen Rihanna for Interview Magazine - Summer 2019
Rihanna fronts Interview magazine’s summer issue, photographed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti and dressed by her longtime stylist Mel Ottenberg.

On the cover, the pop star, 31, wears a white Saint Laurent trench coat and matching pumps, black stockings and a white leather bondage hood by A.F. Vandevorst x Zana Bayne.
Inside the issue, the Fenty Corp. CEO reimagines her iconic, nearly nude 2014 CFDA look, lounging in a see-through, leopard-print body stocking by LaQuan Smith, a matching fur stole, black Saint Laurent pumps and Dior Fine Jewelry earrings.

And although it may seem like everyone wants to dress like Riri these days, the designer confessed that there was one red carpet moment that made her green with envy.
In the accompanying interview with Sarah Paulson, the the nine-time Grammy winner told the actress, “You won the ‘Ocean’s 8’ premiere with that green Prada. I almost made you give me that dress on the spot. I was staring at you, like, ‘I am actually mad at this b—h. Why is she wearing that?'”

“You actually told me how mad you were,” Paulson replied.

#RHOA: So NeNe has Contract Issues and Therefore is refusing to Film?
Filming for season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has started. OG of the RHOA, NeNe Leakes, hasn’t been filming yet, though. This is all due to ongoing contract negotiations for season 12. According to Hollywood Life, Nene is “disappointed” she isn’t filming yet because “she loves” the show. NeNe wants to be “compensated fairly” and is hoping that her contract will be finalized soon so that she can get back to filming!

According to sources, NeNe still wants to be part of the show. Furthermore; they add that money is an issue for her team so she hasn’t started filming with the rest of the cast – yet. Sources said, “Nene is disappointed to not be filming right now but it’s really important for her to be compensated fairly. After all, she’s an OG Housewife and knows her worth and won’t settle for what doesn’t work contractually for her.”

The source added, “She loves the show and the platform it creates, so she’s really hopeful that everything will get worked out. To hear otherwise is hurtful. It has nothing to do with anything other than business and she’s hoping to that the business side gets worked out ASAP and she can begin filming. Both sides want to make this work. Nene does not want to leave the show, but she also knows her worth and value she brings not just to Real Housewives of Atlanta, but the Housewives franchise as a whole.”

NeNe isn’t on good terms with many of the cast members. Kenya Moore is returning next season and they have not made amends. Sources explained, “Even though she’s not talking to a few of the ladies, Nene is a professional and looks at this as a job. She can work with anyone in this industry if need be, whether it’s Porsha, Kenya, or anyone else. The whole cast actually does want Nene to begin filming. They know it’ll make for amazing TV and the show isn’t the same without her. Nobody wants to see her have to walk away.”

I’m sure that NeNe will return to the show next season. She will probably start filming soon. Contract negotiations for the Real Housewives can take a long time, but it eventually gets settled and situated.

#Empire: Taraji P. Henson Hosts Inaugural 'Can We Talk?' Benefit Dinner in Washington DC
Taraji P. Henson held the inaugural “Can We Talk?” Benefit Dinner for her foundation this past Friday Night in Washington D.C., a continuation of her work towards building mental health awareness in the African American community.
The star-studded black-tie event for the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation kicked off a 2-day conference dedicated to supporting African-Americans who seek therapy but may not otherwise have the means to cover costs.
The likes of Charlamagne Tha God, Morris Chestnut, Traci Braxton, Roz White, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, and BLHF Youth Ambassador Isan Elba were on hand for the dinner.

The organization, named after Henson’s late father, was launched last year to fight the stigma and bring awareness to mental health issues within the African-American community. BLHF partners with other organizations who offer mental health services in order to provide education and even services within the prison system.

Taraji P. Henson returned to her hometown of Washington D.C. this weekend for an important cause – to help increase mental health awareness and resources for Black youth. Actress, singer, and activist Jenifer Lewis was honored with the inaugural “I Rise” Award for her trailblazing efforts to combat the stigma around mental illness and seeking mental health services. Dr. Altha J. Stewart, the first African American and the first woman to be named President of the American Psychiatric Association, was the keynote speaker for the night.
The benefit dinner came just hours after Henson testified in front of the newly formed Congressional Black Caucus Emergency Taskforce on Black Youth Suicide and Mental Health.

“In the African-American community, we don’t deal with mental health issues,” Henson said in her testimony. “We don’t even talk about it. We’ve been taught to pray our problems away. We’ve been demonized for coming out saying we have issues. And we have trust issues.”

#HipNopNews: Geto Boys Bushwick Bill’s Has DIED At 52
TMZ has confirmed that Bushwick Bill has passed away at the age of 52. According to reps for the legendary Geto Boys member, Bill lost his battle to pancreatic cancer at 9:35 on Sunday night (June 9).

Born Richard Shaw in Kingston, Jamaica, the artist moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn as a young child — hence his rap moniker — before relocating to Houston, where he first joined the Rap-A-Lot Records-assembled group in the early-to-mid-'80s as a breakdancer and hype man. But as members came and went, he found his way to the mic.
Known for his brash persona and performative storytelling, Bill's unhinged, engaging bars on Geto Boys classics like "F*** a War," "Mind Playing Tricks On Me" and "Mind of a Lunatic" were central to the group carving out its place as a pioneering Southern rap unit in the late '80s and early '90s. While Scarface was hailed as the lyricist of the group, Bushwick Bill's appeal lied in his erratic, say-anything verses. In hip-hop's Golden Era, Geto Boys is credited with putting Houston on the map by pioneering horrorcore — a rap subgenre rooted in nightmarish imagery, physical abuse and psychological horror. Many of rap's current stars, from Jeezy and Lil Wayne to Juice WRLD and 21 Savage, have cited Geto Boys as an influence.

His son, Javon, told the celebrity gossip site Bill's last words to him were "I will love you forever."

Tony Awards 2019: 'Hadestown' wins Best Musical and leads the way with 8 wins
The 73rd Annual Tony Awards were presented Sunday to celebrate Broadway's best performances of the year.

James Corden served as host of the event for the second time and kicked off the show with a nine minute opening number in which he poked fun at live TV versus streaming services.
When it came to the coveted Best Play and Best Musical categories the winners were "The Ferryman" by Jez Butterworth and "Hadestown" respectively.

It was a big night for "Hadestown," starring Reeve Carney, Amber Gray and André De Shields, who lead the way with 14 nominations and scored 8 wins.
Tony's history was made by Ali Stroker as the first actor in a wheelchair to ever win a Tony Award. She took home the award for featured actress in a musical for her role in "Oklahoma!"
But it didn't stop there, it was an entire night of firsts.
Rachel Chavkin won the Tony for best director of a musical for "Hadestown" as the only female nominated in that category this year and Elaine May won her first ever Tony Award for best leading actress for her role in "The Waverly Gallery."
Andre DeShields won his first ever Tony Award in the featured actor in a musical category for his role in "Hadestown." Santino Fontana was awarded Best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical for "Tootsie" and Stephanie J. Block won her first Tony for Best performance by an actress in a leading role in a musical for "The Cher Show."
When the Tony nominations were announced in April, some Broadway observers were surprised that both "To Kill Mockingbird" and "Network" were not nominated in the best play category.
CNN caught up with Corden earlier in the week to discuss his hosting duties, and he revealed that, believe it or not, he gets incredibly nervous.
"I get nerves to an almost crippling degree," he said. "I actually went to see someone about it at one point because it was getting to a point where I was so nervous, it was unmanageable.

At least one dead in midtown Manhattan Skyscraper helicopter crash
A helicopter crash landed onto the roof of a building in midtown Manhattan and caught fire on Monday afternoon,   authorities said.
One person died in the crash of the Agusta A109E helicopter, according to officials.
Only the pilot was aboard the aircraft when it crashed at around 1:45 p.m. on top of 787 Seventh Avenue, a 51-story building located between West 51st and West 52nd streets, at the north end of Times Square.

The building’s roof does not have a helipad. Workers at the building quickly evacuated after the crash, which occurred on a rainy, foggy day. The fire on the roof was soon extinguished.
Tenants of the building, known as the AXA Equitable Center, include BNP Paribas, Citibank and the international law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

Fire trucks and police vehicles swarmed the area on the heels of the crash. Three sources said that before the chopper crashed, its pilot reported having a mechanical failure or engine trouble. The aircraft had taken off from the helipad at West 34th Street on the Hudson River and planned to go to the Staute of Liberty, which is several miles south of there, according to sources.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo spoke to reporters at the scene. “There was a helicopter that made a forced landing or an emergency landing ... on the roof of the building for one reason or the other,” Cuomo said. “People in the building said they felt the building shake.”

“It was hard landing,” Cuomo said. “In the building itself, nobody has been hurt.”
Laura Esquival, a hostess at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which is located across the street from the crash scene, said,  “I saw people running out.”

“They were escorting everyone out,” she said. Passerby quickly posted still images and videos of the scene.
The building, which is considered a landmark in the area, was designed by Edward Larabee Barnes for the Equitable Life Insurance Co.
Its skylighted entrance atrium features a large mural by the artist Roy Lichtenstein called Mural with Blue Brushstroke, which he completed in 1986.

Calpers, the California public employee pension fund, purchased the building in 2016 for $1.9 billion.
The Federal Aviation Administration, in a prepared statement said, “FAA air traffic controllers did not handle the flight.”
The FAA also said that the National Transportation Safety Board “will be in charge of the investigation and will determine probable cause of the accident.”

“We will release the aircraft registration after NYC officials will release the pilot’s name.”
White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said President Donald Trump “has been briefed on the helicopter crash in Manhattan and continues to monitor the situation.”
In March, seven members of Congress from New York and New Jersey, noting that they had “for many years ... advocated for restricting helicopter tourism over New York City and Hudson County, wrote the FAA and the NTSB asking those agencies to address “a number of issues” with chopper flights.

The letter cited the accident a year before, on March 11, 2018, when five people aboard a sightseeing helicopter were killed after the aircraft crashed into the East River off the coast of Manhattan.
“Helicopter crashes not only threaten the lives of the passengers, but also endanger all our constituents,” the letter said. “Every time a helicopter crashes, it puts at risk the innocent bystanders living, working, and traveling in the heavily populated region below.”

New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle and his flight instructor were killed in 2006 when Lidle’s small plane crashed into a 42-story building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Eighteen people were injured in the crash.
In 1977, five people were killed when the rotor blade of a helicopter snapped off on the roof of what was then known as the Pan Am Building in midtown Manhattan, next to Grand Central Terminal. The building, which is now known as the MetLife Building, had its heliport closed after the accident.

Since then, public helipads in Manhattan, of which there are now three, have been confined to the coasts of the island.

NYPD formally apologizes for 1969 Stonewall raid against #LGBTQ People in NYC!
New York Police Department Commissioner James P. O’Neill on Thursday apologized for the 1969 police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village, that caused an uprising and helped launch the modern-day LGBTQ rights movement.

“What happened should not have happened. The actions taken by the NYPD were wrong, plain and simple,” O’Neill said at a briefing on security preparations for the 50th anniversary of the riots on June 28. “The actions and the laws were discriminatory and oppressive, and for that, I apologize.”
In the early hours of Saturday, June 28, 1969, the NYPD attempted to enforce a law that made it illegal to serve alcohol to known homosexuals. While gay bar raids were not unusual, on this particular night, the patrons decided they had finally had enough. The police were met with resistance, which then unfolded into a full-on rebellion. The uprising lasted several nights and is widely credited with being the spark that ignited the modern-day LGBTQ rights movement.

The Stonewall Inn and the surrounding area has since become a national monument — the first to tell the story of the LGBTQ rights movement — and the bar, in the words of one of its current owners, has become a "gay church" of sorts.
The NYPD had never formally apologized for the raid, but pressure had been building from local politicians and civil rights organizations.

On Wednesday, for example, City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, who is gay, told 1010 WINS news that the NYPD should apologize, and on Thursday, Heritage of Pride, the nonprofit organization that runs the official NYC Pride March, said in a press release that it had voted unanimously to demand that the department do so.

“The department can never take back what it has done to LGBTQIA+ people, but it can and must take responsibility for it,” Heritage of Pride said. The group offered O’Neill a slot on the stage at the Stonewall commemoration rally to deliver an apology, writing “the platform is yours on June 28th.”
Their press release was sent just over an hour before the commissioner delivered his apology at NYPD headquarters.
Mark Segal, a long-time LGBTQ activist who was at the Stonewall Inn on the night of the raid, encouraged the NYPD commissioner to apologize to veterans of the Stonewall uprising in person on June 30, during the annual NYC Pride March.

"It would not only be welcomed, it would close the books on this chapter and give some of us closure," Segal told NBC News.

The NYPD's overall security briefing on Thursday touched upon the growing threat of right-wing extremism both domestically and abroad; NYPD officers said that this year’s Pride celebrations face new threats from white supremacists and jihadists.

Cuba Gooding Jr. Accused Of Groping Woman At New York City Nightclub
Cuba Gooding Jr. has been accused of getting out of pocket in a New York City nightclub.
A woman has accused the Oscar-winning actor of being “highly intoxicated” and groping her breasts during a convo.

The incident allegedly happened around 9 p.m. at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge on 7th Avenue in Midtown.
After Cuba allegedly grabbed the woman, she says they got into an argument that had to be broken up by security.
Cuba bounced shortly after the altercation and the woman called 911 around 1 a.m.

When police arrived Cuba was nowhere to be found.
The case has been referred to the NYPD Special Victims Division, the sources said. Cuba is being sought on a charge of forcible touching.

Mariah Carey Allegedly Used Ex-Assistants’ Credit Cards To Pay For Butt Fillers, Fat Melting Treatment & Shopping Sprees
A bomb was recently dropped regarding music icon Mariah Carey and her professional relationship with ex-assistant Lianna Shakhnazaryan and ex-manager Stella Bulochnikov. She reportedly fired both ladies respectively in November of 2017 and April of 2018, resulting in nasty lawsuits between the three of them – accusing each other of verbal abuse, racism, and even sexual assault. In recent news, documents claim that the singer would use her employees’ credit cards to make massive purchases.
Invoices claim that she would use both Lianna and Stella’s credit cards, along with fake names, to anonymously pay for numerous plastic surgery procedures, as well as shopping sprees for luxury lingerie and Gucci threads. The purchases would be made on good faith that Mariah would reimburse them, according to an insider. The source dished:

“Mariah never wanted people to know about her shopping or surgeries so she would put them on Lianna’s card or Stella’s cards. She has an AMEX card of her own but her business management team only let her have one because of her spending – she always spent so much on it, it would get maxed out.”
They continued: “All the staff, including her security guards and nannies, have to put stuff on their cards and get it reimbursed. Even for things like the children’s McDonald’s. They were never given money up front or petty cash.”
The invoices show that – despite denying having them – Mariah Carey has underwent at least six cosmetic surgeries, including butt fillers, fat freezing, and firming treatments.
According to Lianna Shakhnazaryan’s most recent court filings, she hasn’t been reimbursed for over half a million dollars in purchases on Mariah’s behalf. The court docs read:

“[She] was damaged in excess of $600,000 for expenditures made at the request of and/or on behalf of DEFENDANTS, and for which she was never reimbursed, and of which Plaintiff is owed.”
According to the Daily Mail, here’s a rundown of some of the large purchases made for Mariah Carey on her staff’s credit cards:
– Buttock filler injections, firming ultrasound neck and jawline procedure, a LipoFreeze fat-melting laser treatment – $32,765
– Thigh tightening radio-frequency treatment – $7,915
– Gucci shopping spree in Aspen – $21,518.44
– Dolce & Gabbana shopping spree in Aspen – $10,895.29
– Louis Vuitton shopping spree in Aspen – $39,681.37
– Protein shakes – $485
– WholeFoods grocery haul – $218.37
– Luxury Ermenegildo Zegna menswear – $10,135.94

Mariah Carey’s team has yet to comment on the claims.

Former Sox Star David Ortiz In Stable Condition After Shooting In Dominican Republic
Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was shot in the back Sunday at an outdoor bar in the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo. He was reportedly in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
Ortiz, a native of the Dominican Republic, was at the bar in the capital at about 8:50 p.m. when a man on a motorcycle approached and shot him from behind, according to Dominican National Police Director Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte.

Ortiz's father, Leo Ortiz, told local reporters that his son, 43, was "fine" after surgery and that the bullet did not hit any vital organs.
"He is out of surgery and stable; he is resting," Leo Ortiz said. "Big Papi will be around for a long time."
Dominican television host Jhoel Lopez and another person were also wounded in the attack, according to The Associated Press. Lopez was shot in the leg; his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Bautista said the alleged shooter was captured and beaten by a crowd and that he was undergoing treatment before being questioned by authorities.
The Dial Bar and Lounge, where the assault took place, is in the eastern part of the capital in a nightlife district known for its high-end dance clubs, according to the AP.

Ortiz, who helped the Red Sox win the World Series three times, hit 541 home runs in his more than 20-year career. He won the World Series MVP award in 2013 and retired after the 2016 season.

'Central Park 5' tell Oprah of pain and redemption after Netflix series
The five men wrongly convicted of raping a jogger in New York’s Central Park in 1989 said on Sunday that a new Netflix Inc series about their case revived the pain from their ordeal but, for some, brought a sense of redemption.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the men who became known as the “Central Park Five” said they were grateful that the four-episode dramatic series called “When They See Us” humanized them and used their story to spotlight injustice.

“It’s bittersweet,” said one of the men, Kevin Richardson, as he sat on stage with the others. “Watching this is painful, but it’s necessary. It needs to be watched.”
The five men - Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise - were 14 to 16 years old at the time of the rape and confessed after lengthy police interrogations. The victim was white and the defendants all black or Hispanic.
Each soon recanted, insisting they had admitted to the crime under coercion from police officers. But they all were convicted and served prison terms of six to 13 years.

Their convictions were overturned, in 2002, after another man confessed to the crime and DNA tests confirmed his guilt. In 2014, they settled a lawsuit against for $41 million.
“It brought back a lot of pain,” McCray said of the series. “I thought I was over it.”

McCray, who broke into tears during the discussion, said he did not feel any sense of redemption and still suffered from the trauma of being falsely accused and imprisoned.
“Even to this day, I’m damaged. I need help. I know it,” said McCray, who added that he has rejected his wife’s request that he go to therapy. “The system broke a lot of things that can’t be fixed.”
Asked if had forgiven his father, who urged him to confess to the crime, McCray said: “I hate him. My life is ruined.”

“No, it’s not,” an audience member shouted.
The interview, part of a Netflix campaign for television’s Emmy awards, was recorded and will premiere on Netflix and on Winfrey’s cable channel OWN on Wednesday.
Salaam said he believed the series was helping people to “realize that we didn’t have to go through this. This is how the system, despite the wheels of justice, mowed us down.”

He said he used to feel like he was walking around with his head down. Now, “I’m proudly raising my head,” Salaam said to applause.

Winfrey, an executive producer of the series, said the world had known the men as “a derogatory headline for decades” but now she hoped they would be known as “the exonerated five.”

Nike Introduces Curvy Mannequin For The First Time
Over the last few years, fashion designers and big brands have finally decided to acknowledge curvy women by including them on the runway and in their ads.
Brands know that all women aren’t a size 4 but have procrastinated to show love to the curvy women. In August 2018, Old Navy introduced their own curvy mannequins, Nordstrom revealed theirs last month, and now Nike.

Nike introduced the line-up of curvy mannequins at their London flagship store last week as part of a special floor that is dedicated to just women.
NikeTown’s third level features “a full range of athlete figures” with “multiple plus-sized and para-sport mannequins” for the first time in the store’s history.

“To celebrate the diversity and inclusivity of sport, the space will not just celebrate local elite and grassroot athletes through visual content, but also show Nike plus size and para-sport mannequins for the first time on a retail space,” Nike stated in a press release.

Nike was launched in 1964 and didn’t introduce plus sizes until 2017 with sizes 1X-3X.

Robert De Niro’s estranged wife thinks he’s worth $500M and wants half
Robert De Niro got hit with a real summer blockbuster in court Thursday, when lawyers for his estranged wife demanded half of his “$500 million” fortune — despite a 2004 prenup that his side insists limits her to a $6 million apartment, $500,000 cash and $1 million a year in alimony.

The “Raging Bull” star’s soon-to-be ex Grace Hightower made the big money grab — and revealed intimate details of his net worth — Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court, where the two sat through another in a series of contentious hearings in their ongoing divorce.
The fractured pair — who first married in 1997 and divorced in 1999 — are arguing over the wording of the prenup they signed when they remarried in 2004.

The two are far apart on that wording.
De Niro contends that the prenup sets strict limits on her take in a divorce.
Hightower is solely entitled to $6.5 million in cash and property, his side contends, plus annual alimony of $1 million and half the value of a second apartment.
But her side insists the prenup’s language additionally entitles her to half of what the “Goodfellas” star has made during the remarriage.

The bulk of that half-billion-dollar fortune comes from his movies and his lucrative stake in the Nobu sushi chain.
She also believes she’s entitled to an additional 50 percent of what he earned from his share in Tribeca Grill, the 88-room Greenwich Hotel and Canal Productions.
“Mr. De Niro has made $300 million since 2004 via 35 businesses, and 38 movies,” Hightower’s lawyer, Allan Mantel, told the judge.

“His total income is more than $500 million. He gets it all,” he said in angry disbelief, prompting Justice Matthew Cooper to interject some humor into the tense proceeding.

“Now his income will fall, now that special counsel Robert Mueller is out of the picture on ‘Saturday Night Live,’” the judge quipped.
De Niro’s lawyer, Caroline Krauss-Browne, is meanwhile complaining that Hightower’s side is nickel-and-diming the actor for every penny of his fortune.
Hightower has issued six subpoenas for his financial records, Krauss-Browne complained.

“She is seeking essentially every piece of paper of De Niro’s receipts for meals on movie sets, wardrobe, payroll records of every employee at Nobu, credit card charges. This all goes back 15 years.”
Neither De Niro nor Hightower would comment on the divorce as they left the court, except the “Goodfellas” star did make a humorous reference to having snarled at reporters during a court appearance in April.
“Any last words?” a reporter asked as he waited for his driver at the corner of Mulberry and Worth streets, shielding his face with a newspaper.
When a news photographer offered a potential quote — “Yeah, ‘Go f–k yourself’?” — the actor laughed.
“Your co-worker just said it,” he chuckled, then got into his car.

De Niro has been a superdad of sorts in recent weeks, shepherding daughter Helen, 7, to parties and events.
De Niro filed for divorce from Hightower a month later.
