Super Bowl 50 is about to be LIT! Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are gearing up for an epic game against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos next Sunday (Feb. 7th). And it appears all eyes are the quarterback who led his team to a an impressive 17-1 season ending record.
For ESPN the Magazine’s upcoming issue, they tapped the ridiculously sexy QB to take over the cover.
Cam is transformed into Superman, one of his favorite superheroes that he often mimics during games. How appropriate. Inside, ESPN explores many facets of the 6-foot-5, 245-pound FINE quarterback.
One interesting excerpt comes from Cam’s father, Cecil Newton. He addressed the haters who constantly drag his son about having a baby boy (whom he named Chosen) with longtime girlfriend Kia Proctor out of wedlock.
A “fan” wrote to The Charlotte Observer to express her disappointment in Cam, suggesting he should put a ring on his girlfriend’s finger. She wrote, "Congratulations would be in order if he had been man enough to marry the mother of his child and make a home."
Sighs…
Well his father, who is a church bishop, has a response to that. He clapped back:
"I want it to be known that his mother and I are staunch Christian proponents of marriage and all things pertaining to legitimacy," Cecil says. "I have three sons and one woman, and I have been a living example all his life of what a man should be in a family. Cam is 26 years old, not 18 or 19. He has a heightened consciousness of who he is as a man, and I always tell him the decisions you make you have to live with short and long term. I don't style it as a mistake; I style it as something that can be a gift for him and the young lady. We're going to support them in every aspect -- physically, emotionally and spiritually."
Perfectly said. ESPN even gave an interesting comparison to Cam having a baby out of wedlock and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady -- the NFL's Golden Boy -- doing the exact same thing. The article said:
Tom Brady can have a child out of wedlock -- and leave the actress/mother for a supermodel before the baby was born -- and not be blamed for the systemic deterioration of the American family and the scourge of fatherless households. For Newton, it was yet another lens through which to view him, as if maturity, greed and race weren't enough. The son of a church bishop, the middle son of a tight-knit family, Newton had given them something they expected.

Cam’s dad also opened up about how he was able to keep Cam from cutting up in class. His dad said he loved attention, so he made him dress up every Friday to get the attention he longed for, but in a productive way. Here's an excerpt:
His son had a tendency to speak a bit too much in class. The boy liked attention, which caused a problem for his teachers and -- by extension -- his parents. So one day, Cecil Newton had an idea. He told his son, "Cam, since you want people to notice you, you can dress up on Fridays. That way, everybody will notice you."
Starting that next Friday, Cam Newton left the house for middle school wearing a long-sleeve button-down, slacks and dress shoes. He did it without complaint, almost cheerfully, and before long the practice wasn't restricted to Fridays.
"He's enjoying this," Cecil told his wife, Jackie.

After all the success from his hardly promoted but quite successful Grammy nominated 2014 Forest Hills Drive album, the North Carolina native is gifting his fans a live version of the album.

Rihanna’s New ‘ANTI’ Album Released
Rihanna‘s ANTI album finally makes its debut. On Wednesday, the Barbadian songstress dropped her new single, “Work,” and later in the evening came the surprise release of the entire album.
In addition to the Drake feature, the 13-track LP includes an appearance from SZA, and there’s a list of production contributors such as Travis Scott, The Weeknd, The-Dream, Timbaland and more.
In a statement provided to The FADER, Tidal announced that the version of ANTI on their platform now is the 13 track standard release, then on January 29, a 16 track deluxe version will be available.
FADER also reports that for 24 hours you can download ANTI for free on Tidal (while supplies last), by entering the code “ANTI” at the Tidal Store.

Arguably more interesting than the list of contestants are the people who have signed on as advisors to Schwarzenegger for the new season. Jessica Alba, Tyra Banks, Steve Ballmer, and Warren Buffet will be appearing on this season, meaning the program will now feature two drop-dead sexy minxes, and also businesspeople Jessica Alba and Tyra Banks. This year’s winner receives a $250,000 check for the charity of their choice; the show has cumulatively raised more than $15 million for various charities over the previous seasons. Tyra Banks And Boyfriend Erik Asla Welcome Son
Congratulations are in order for Tyra Banks and her boyfriend, Norwegian photographer Erik Asla, as the couple has welcomed a son – York Banks Asla – via gestational surrogate.
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik,” Tyra tells PEOPLE in a statement.
She continued: “As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day. My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms.”
The former supermodel and America’s Next Top Model host shared the news with her Instagram followers; posting a snap of a striped baby hat, saying that baby York has her fingers and big eyes, “and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin.” She adds: “As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”

#OSCARSSOWHITE Straight Outta Compton Cast Didn’t Get Invited To The Oscars
The Oscars had no intention of welcoming the cast Straight Outta Compton, even though the show is looking for more Black presenters this year. Beyond the two White screenwriters nominated, neither the cast nor SOC producer, Ice Cube, were invited to attend the 2016 Oscars.
TMZ reported the cast shutout. It’s unclear how the invitation works but typically current and previous Oscar nominee and winners, announcers, and a multitude of other actors are invited.
If Cube had been invited he wouldn’t go anyway, according to TMZ. He will be attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the NAACP Image Awards, both of which nominated SOC.
The N.W.A biopic release last year, topped the box officer for three weeks in a row and has earned more than $200 million worldwide.
Following the SOC Oscars snub, and general outrage over Hollywood’s diversity deficit, the Academy of Motion Pictures announced a plan to diversify its members and change up the voting process. Over 9o percent of Academy voters are White, and more than 75 percent are men with an average age of 63 years old.
Thieves Jacking Brooklyn Teens For Their Jordans in East Flatbush Bklyn!
Just when it became easier to track down a coveted pair of Jordans —thanks to an influx of product on the market—it seems like it’s going to be getting that much harder to keep them on your feet. In the past two months, three 14-year-old boys in Brooklyn have been attacked by a group of adolescents and liberated of their belongings; including their Air Jordans, cell phones, MetroCards, and ID’s.
The latest robbery occurred on January 14 on Troy Ave near Rutland Road.
Reports DNA Info New York:
Police said the most recent robbery happened as a 14-year-old boy was walking home from school on Troy Avenue near Rutland Road around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 14.
As he passed the northeast corner of the intersection, multiple teenagers, approximately 16 and 17 years old, approached him and began punching him.
The suspects then forcibly removed his Metrocard, identification and Jordan sneakers and fled on foot.
The theft is similar to two others the occurred last month within blocks of the Jan. 14 incident, all to 14-year-old boys wearing the brand name sneakers while walking home from school in East Flatbush.
Each of the robberies have occurred in and around the Rutland Road area in East Flatbush Brooklyn, NY. Police have no suspects but believe the same group is responsible for all the Jordan jackings.
