The Bryan Texas cabinet factory shooter ID’d as 27-year-old Larry Bollin Held on 1 Million Dollars Bail!
The Texas cabinet factory worker accused of shooting six co-workers and a state trooper in a deadly Thursday afternoon rampage has been identified as 27-year-old Larry Bollin.
Bollin has since been charged with murder and is being held on a $1 million bond, police told Houston’s ABC 13.
One of the shooting victims at a Kent Moore Cabinets factory in Bryan was killed, and four of the five injured workers are in critical condition, police said in a statement.
A Texas DPS Trooper was also shot by Bollin, and seriously injured, during a police pursuit about a half-hour away from the crime scene, officials said.
Bollin was reportedly captured in Grimes County, northwest of Houston, two hours after the 2:30 p.m. mass shooting.
Police have not revealed a possible motive for the workplace shooting, and are expected to announce the names of the victims Friday, according to the local station, which spoke to Bollin’s co-workers.
“I see him every day,” Kent Moore worker Marc Barron reportedly said. “The dude, he’s kind of quiet. He’s the dude you wouldn’t expect to do this kind of stuff. But I guess that’s why nobody expected for stuff like this to happen.”
“I hid under a small place and praying to God,” she said in a TV interview. “To give me the opportunity to be alive again. Because you never know with these people. I remember El Paso. I remember Virginia. These shootings going on everywhere and you never know.”
Kent Moore Cabinets, which employees 600 people according to its website, issued a statement Thursday night.
“Our hearts are hurting,” the Facebook post began. “We’re all devastated by the tragic events at our Stone City manufacturing plant in Bryan on Thursday. Our thoughts are with our workers and their families, and we ask that you join us in keeping everyone touched by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.
“We are fully cooperating with the police who are investigating this horrible crime. We’re thankful that law enforcement officers responded so quickly and are so appreciative of the critical medical care that paramedics provided to our coworkers. Our focus now is on our employees and their families during this most difficult time, and we hope you understand we are not able to respond to your comments. Your concern and kind words are deeply appreciated.”
#RHOA: Marlo Hampton Says She’s Ready to Be a Full-Time Cast Member!
Marlo Hampton has been a popular fixture on RHOA since she was first introduced as the sidekick to Nene Leakes. Despite being on the show for nearly a decade, Hampton is not a full-time cast member. In a recent interview, Hampton explained that her fans deserve to see her in a full-time capacity on the show to see more of her personal life.
Viewers first met Hampton when she was dating Leake’s rumored fling, NFL star Charles Grant. The two bonded over their love of high-end fashion and ability to block out negativity.
Despite Leakes’ love of Hampton, her RHOA co-stars were not fans. Hampton has famously bumped heads with Kandi Burruss, Sheree Whitfield, Kim Zolciak, Shamari DeVoe, Eva Marcille, Kenya Moore, and Porsha Williams. Because of her love of fashion and the finer things, Hampton has been coined a golddigger.
The relationship between Leakes and Hampton has been a rollercoaster. The two had a huge fallout when Hampton befriended Kenya Moore against Leakes’ wishes. They eventually reconciled and are now closer than ever.
After Hampton’s fallout with Leakes, Leakes revealed in press interviews that she was the reason Hampton remained on the show. Per Leakes, producers felt Hampton was a liability because of her criminal history. It was also assumed that Cohen was not a fan of Hampton due to her use of a gay slur
But Cohen put rumors to rest of any beef with Hampton during an appearance on Kandi Burruss’ popular YouTube show Speak On It. He says he was not blocking Hampton from being a cast member.
“It’s not that I don’t love her, but she’s all over the show- that’s why I think sometimes people get hung up on semantics,” Cohen said. “And Housewives is not indentured servitude. It is not something that, you know- people volunteer to do it. They’re there because they either want to be or they don’t. So trust and believe that people are being taken care of in one way or another…she has a great attitude. I feel like everything’s cool.”
The fashionista says her fans deserve to know more about her personal life
Though Hampton has previously said she’s fine with her status on the show due to her being financially compensated, she now says it’s time for her to be upgraded to a full-time cast member.
Many changes have occurred in Hampton’s personal life in recent years, including her gaining custody of her two nephews. Hampton says her fans deserve to see her growth from a seemingly shallow and materialistic woman to a mother figure.
“I’m at a point now I care for the Hamptons [her fans] and the Hamptons want to see more of me,” Hampton tells The Jasmine Brand. “People painted this picture who they wanted me to be and wanted the world to see me as, and it’s like it’s nothing like that. I’m totally different.”
She says her fans seeing her with her family will show her in a different light. “You guys just see the fashion, me being opinionated and strong, outspoken. So you don’t see me when I’m crying. You don’t see me when I go downstairs with the boys or if I’m yelling or I’m upset at William for lying…You know me but you don’t know me.”
RHOA airs every Sunday on Bravo at 8 pm EST.

Tyler Perry’s Madea Origin TV Series ‘Mabel’ In The Works At Showtime!
After starting off on stage and then moving to the big screen, Tyler Perry’s Madea is now headed to television.
Showtime is developing Mabel, a drama series created by Perry and Tim Palen. The high-profile project, which has received a multiple-script order, tracks the origin story of the larger-than-life Madea character created and performed by Perry. It is written by JaNeika James and JaSheika James.
Per Mabel’s official description, every great story has to start somewhere and every legend has a beginning. Long before she was the force of nature known as Madea she was a smart, fierce, irresistible, dangerous, crazy 20-something black woman named…Mabel Simmons. When she moved to Atlanta in 1972 she set the city – and the world – on fire!
Perry’s Hollywood career was launched by his plays featuring Mabel “Madea” Earlene Simmons, a character he based on his mom and his aunt. Portrayed by Perry, Madea was 65 in the first play, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, and aged as the franchise progressed. The character made the leap to the big screen with Tyler’s first feature, the 2005 Diary of a Mad Black Woman, which was a breakout boxoffice hit. It launched a blockbuster franchise for Lionsgate that spanned nine live-action and one animated movies, most recently A Madea Family Funeral in 2019.
This marks the latest project under Perry’s expansive relationship with ViacomCBS, which includes his co-venture with the company, BET+. He is behind such popular series as BET’s Sistas and The Oval and BET+’s Bruh and Ruthless. They are all produced at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. It opened in October 2019, making Perry making him the first African American to be at the helm of a major production studio.
Perry can next be seen in Taylor Sheridan’s American Western thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead opposite Angelina Jolie, Jon Bernthal, and Nicholas Hoult, in addition to playing a role in Adam McKay’s upcoming Netflix feature film, Don’t Look Up, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and Cate Blanchett. Perry is set to receive an Honorary Oscar at the 93rd Academy Awards in April 2021 as the recipient of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
Twin sisters JaNeika and JaSheika James rose up the ranks from staff writer to supervising producer on Empire, then served as co-executive producers on True Story and Gossip Girl.
Former Lionsgate CMO/President of Marketing Tim Palen launched Barnyard Projects in January of 2019 with a first look film deal with Lionsgate. The company is involved in Lionsgate’s film adaptation of Erin Morgenstern’s phantasmagorical fairy tale novel Night Circus, to be directed by Geremy Jasper. Prior to founding Barnyard Projects, Palen was executive producer on the documentaries Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man and The U.S. vs. John Lennon.
Excessive Speed Caused Tiger Woods' SUV Crash, Sheriff Says!
Tiger Woods' February crash was caused by excessive speed, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
Woods' SUV was traveling from 84 to 87 mph on a downhill stretch of road outside Los Angeles that had a speed limit of 45 mph. The SUV was going 75 mph when it hit a tree, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
No traffic citations were issued. Authorities said there was no evidence of impairment or of distracted driving, so they didn't have probable cause to get those warrants. Investigators, however, did search the SUV's data recorder, known as a black box.
Villanueva blamed the Feb. 23 crash solely on excessive speed and Woods' loss of control behind the wheel. Sheriff's Capt. James Powers, who oversees the sheriff's station closest to the crash site, said there was no evidence that the golfer braked throughout the wreck and that it's believed Woods inadvertently hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.
"The primary causal factor for this traffic collision was driving at a speed unsafe for the road conditions and the inability to negotiate the curve of the roadway,'' the sheriff told a news conference.
Detectives did not seek search warrants for the athlete's blood samples, which could have been screened for drugs or alcohol, or his cellphone. Sheriff's officials said Woods told deputies that he had not ingested medication or alcohol before the crash.
"Those questions were asked and answered,'' Powers said.
Woods tweeted a statement after the news conference thanking those who helped him immediately following his crash and those who have supported him since since the accident. He said he is continuing "to focus on my recovery and family."
Villanueva said Woods and his representatives have been cooperative during the investigation and gave permission to share the findings.
Woods, who is from the Los Angeles area, had been back home to host his PGA tournament, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, when the crash happened.
He was driving a 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV lent to him by the tournament when he struck a raised median in Rolling Hills Estates, just outside Los Angeles. The SUV crossed through two oncoming lanes and uprooted a tree on a downhill stretch that police said is known for wrecks.
Documents show that Woods told deputies he did not know how the crash occurred and did not remember driving. At the time of the wreck, Woods was recovering from a fifth back surgery, which took place two months earlier.
Woods is in Florida recovering from multiple surgeries stemming from serious leg injuries he suffered in the accident. Woods has never gone an entire year without playing, dating back to his first PGA Tour event as a 16-year-old in high school.
Rory McIlroy, a four-time major golf champion who lives near Woods, said he visited him on March 21.
"Spent a couple hours with him, which was nice. It was good to see him,'' McIlroy said at the Masters on Tuesday. "It was good to see him in decent spirits. When you hear of these things and you look at the car and you see the crash, you think he's going to be in a hospital bed for six months. But he was actually doing better than that.''
Villanueva faced criticism for weeks for his comments about the crash, including calling it "purely an accident'' and saying there was no evidence of impairment and pushed back Wednesday against allegations of special treatment for the golf star. "That is absolutely false,'' he said.
Villanueva also declined to release footage from deputies' body cameras, citing Woods' privacy.
This is the third time Woods has been involved in a vehicular incident investigation.
The most notorious example was when his SUV ran over a fire hydrant and hit a tree early on the morning after Thanksgiving in 2009. That crash was the start of shocking revelations that he had been cheating on his wife with multiple women. Woods lost major corporate sponsorships, went to a rehabilitation clinic in Mississippi and did not return to golf for five months.
In May 2017, Florida police found him asleep behind the wheel of a car parked awkwardly on the side of the road. He was arrested on a DUI charge and said later that he had an unexpected reaction to prescription medicine for his back pain. Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving and checked into a clinic to get help with prescription medication and a sleep disorder
DMX to Undergo Brain Function and Activity Tests: 'Waiting on Next Steps' Says Manager!
DMX remains in a coma and on life support at a New York hospital five days after being admitted following a heart attack.
The rapper, 50, will undergo a series of tests Wednesday to determine how much brain function and activity he has, These tests will dictate further decisions to be made by DMX's family.
"We are just waiting on the doctors to tell us what the next steps are," DMX's manager, Steve Rifkind, said.
On Friday, DMX — whose real name is Earl Simmons — was hospitalized in grave condition after reportedly overdosing and suffering a heart attack at his home around 11 p.m. local time, DMX's attorney Murray Richman told NBC News on Saturday.
The rapper was deprived of oxygen for nearly 30 minutes, with sources adding that he had "little brain activity" following the event, TMZ reported.
Upon being admitted to the ICU, DMX had to be resuscitated and was put on life support, Richman added.
On Monday, crowds of family members and fans of DMX attended a prayer vigil held by the Ruff Ryders to the Rescue Foundation outside of White Plains Hospital.
Over the weekend, the rapper's family said in a statement that DMX continues to face "serious health issues," and asked fans to keep him in "your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges."
DMX is currently in a "vegetative state," another manager, Nakia Walker, told The New York Times on Sunday. "We're just praying," Walker said, noting that some of his family members have been allowed to visit him in the hospital.
Walker also told Buzzfeed News that DMX is "still in the same condition — in a vegetative state, [with] lung and brain failure and no brain activity."
"He is truly an amazing person. He walked into a room, he lit up the room. He couldn't help making you feel good in his presence," Richman said of his client of 25 years to the Times.
Richman acknowledged that his client has lived a "difficult life," adding, "He expressed the pain and suffering in a very unique way. He truly is reflective of a whole segment of our society whose pain and suffering go unrecorded."
The lawyer did not know what caused the heart attack, and he was unable to confirm TMZ's report about an alleged drug overdose.
The star been open about his struggles with drug addiction in the past. He canceled a series of performances in 2017 to reenter a rehabilitation facility, according to Rolling Stone. "It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer," his manager Pat Gallo said in a statement at the time.
DMX had another stint in rehab in 2019, after he served a prison sentence for tax evasion.
Janelle MonΓ‘e kisses and cuddles creative partner Nate Wonder in Cabo!
Janelle MonΓ‘e shared a little PDA with Wondaland Arts Society collaborator Nate Wonder Tuesday.
The “Antebellum” actress, 35, was seen smooching the composer during a yacht party off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, donning a black cut-out, one-piece swimsuit and scarf.
Wonder and MonΓ‘e met at Atlanta’s Morehouse College in the early aughts and have been creative collaborators ever since. The pair have yet to publicly confirm their relationship.
In addition to their makeout session, the songstress also snapped a few selfies with friends, taking advantage of the beautiful Pacific Ocean backdrop.
At one point, she was seen going out on the water on a pedalboard.
The outing could’ve possibly been in celebration of Wonder, as MonΓ‘e and several others wished the musician a happy birthday via social media the same day.
“a true wondaland. Happy BirthdΓ‘e to my favorite planet N8 ‘rocket’ Wonder. @natewonderful.” MonΓ‘e wrote in a post dedicated to her rumored beau.

Sheryl Underwood Speaks Out On Sharon Osbourne’s Exit From The Talk!
Sheryl Underwood broke her silence after Sharon Osbourne’s sudden departure from “The Talk.”
Now Underwood is speaking out about her “traumatic experience” with Osbourne for the first time since she left. Sheryl breaks it down in a three-part series called “Sharon Walks Away” on her show “Sheryl Underwood Radio.”
In the show taped a week after Osbourne’s exit, Sheryl looks through her phone and explains that she had not heard from her former co-host since the day of the fallout. “No, OK, I’ve been looking through my phone,” she said. “No. I can go back as far as I can go. No,” she said.
But Sharon told the Daily Mail that she had reached out to Sheryl and even provided the news outlet with screenshots of her text messages.
Sharon told the Daily Mail, “I not only sent these messages to Sheryl, but I apologized to her in person in her dressing room.” Sharon asked incredulously, “Why are you saying I never apologized, Sheryl? What are you trying to do to me?… Why are you trying to destroy my reputation? Just be honest. Tell me,” Osbourne said.
Sheryl also revealed that she hasn’t heard from any of her other Talk cast-mates since the March 10th episode, as the show went into hiatus after the incident until April 12. “No, not personally.”
Underwood also shared that she has been surprised by how many people have reached out to her with similar experiences. “I was startled by those people and their stories of telling me, ‘This happened to me,'” she said. “I’m going to ask the people, ‘Can I name names?'”
Sheryl did admit that she “felt an odd feeling” about the “apology” that Osbourne tweeted, adding, “The issue is, for me, it’s about trust,” but Underwood seemed cautious about saying anything else. “I don’t want to add to the chatter in a negative way that we’re not coming with positive solutions and trust and growth and evolution,” she explained.
RegΓ©-Jean Page Speaks Out Following Report He Was Passed Over For ‘Krypton’ Role Due To Race!
On Wednesday, Bridgerton breakout RegΓ©-Jean Page appeared to address the claim that he was denied a key role in Syfy/DC series, Krypton, because of his race.
“Hearing about these conversations hurts no less now than it did back then. The clarifications almost hurt more tbh [to be honest],” the actor tweeted. “Still just doing my thing. Still we do the work. We still fly.”
While Page didn’t clarify that he was speaking specifically about Krypton, the word ‘fly’ seemed like a fairly obvious indicator that he was referring to the Superman-centric show.
Page’s comments come on the heels of an interview with Ray Fisher, published yesterday by The Hollywood Reporter. While Fisher discussed alleged racism and misconduct on the part of Warner Bros., DC Films co-founder Geoff Johns and others, during reshoots on Justice League, the piece also honed in on Johns’ alleged problematic behavior outside of that particular production.
Allegedly, Page auditioned for the role of Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El, prior to Bridgerton‘s debut, with the creators of Krypton expressing their enthusiasm “about doing some nontraditional casting.” Subsequently, however, Page learned that he wouldn’t be getting the part. While overseeing the series, Johns reportedly said that “Superman could not have a Black grandfather,” according to multiple sources. The THR piece suggested that the executive vetoed Page’s involvement, while also rejecting the idea of making superhero Adam Strange gay or bisexual.
Created by David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler, Krypton is set around 200 years before Superman’s birth, bringing to light the untold story of the superhero’s grandfather, and his fight for justice on his titular home planet. The role of Seg-El would ultimately go to Cameron Cuffe.
Lady Gaga Looks Totally Transformed in White Wedding Dress on ‘House of Gucci’ Set!
Lady Gaga stepped out in a white wedding gown while filming for her new movie House of Gucci in Rome and it pretty much proves that the film is going to bless Us with some fabulous fashion moments!
In the movie, which is a biographical crime film directed by Ridley Scott, Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci. And while the film will depict Reggiani’s marriage, divorce and even a plan to murder Gucci, it’s become very clear over the past few weeks that the wardrobe for the movie holds equal weight as the plot.
On April 7, Gaga was snapped on set in Rome, completely transformed into character. The 35-year-old singer’s traditionally blonde hair was hidden underneath a brown wig and styled in voluminous loose waves. Her makeup was reminiscent of the era, with thick black liner around her eyes.
As for the outfit? Gaga wore a midi length lace wedding dress with a strapless neckline. The star also sported a matching cape, adding a conservative edge.
With the film surrounding the fashion dynasty, it’s no surprise that accessories were paramount. The “Born This Way” singer styled her white wedding dress with a black belt at the waste and ivory pumps with navy trimming.
Jewelry was an integral part of look as well, so a gold cross necklace, bracelet and statement earrings were added to the ensemble.
The style moments didn’t stop with Gaga. Adam Driver, who is playing Maurizio Gucci in the film, also looked dapper in a blue blazer and beige trousers.
The duo, who will also be joined on set by Jared Leto, Al Pacino and Salma Hayek, first teased their new movie on March 9, 2021.
“Signore e Signora Gucci #HouseOfGucci,” Gaga captioned a snowy and wildly chic photo of herself and her 37-year-old costar. In the post, the two actors were dressed to the nines.
Driver sported a cable-knit turtleneck on top and white ski pants on the bottom. Gaga was quite the contrast, dressed in all black with a white fur hat. But it was her jewels that stole the show. She was draped in gold and pearl necklaces, hoop earrings and a stunning pearl-encrusted cuff.
Celebrities and fans were quick to share their excitement about the upcoming film with Kate Hudson dropping emojis of approval, Sharon Stone writing, “So chic and so elegant,” and the official Instagram account chiming in with a plea to “adopt me.”
Kehlani Opens Up After Coming Out as a Lesbian!
Kehlani created a stir on Easter Sunday after she abruptly confirmed her sexuality.
“Wanna know what’s new about me?” the singer asked in an Instagram Live video alongside photographer Jamie-Lee B. “I finally know I’m a lesbian.”
“Bomb drop,” her friend Jamie-Lee added.
Kehlani, who has proudly identified as queer over the past several years, opened up about her sexuality during a recent interview with the Advocate. She discussed her experience as a queer artist working in mainstream music, while acknowledging her privilege as a “straight-presenting” cisgender woman.
“I have a lot of privilege [as a ] cisgender-presenting, straight-presenting,” she told the outlet. “I think a lot of artists who we talk about and say, ‘Oh, they had to come out or they had to do this,’ a lot of them can’t hide it. A lot of it is very [much] in how they present. It’s tougher for them. It’s tougher for trans artists. It’s tougher for Black gay men. It’s tougher for Black masculine gay women.”
She expanded on her privilege while addressing the queer artists who came before her—many of whom were denied opportunities due to societal biases as well as trans- and homophobia.
“… I don’t walk down the street and people look at me and go, ‘Oh, I bet she’s queer.’ Or ‘I bet that she’s into women’ or anything like that because of the way I present,” she continued. “That’s all privilege and I think that there are quite a few artists who were truly at the forefront but weren’t able to make the strides that I was able to make being 100 percent myself because of the way they present and the biases and the phobias of the American public and the world … I’ve been lucky, super lucky.”
Kehlani also expressed optimism about the future, as she sees society becoming much more accepting and inclusive, which has ultimately allowed other LGBTQ artists to express themselves more freely. She thanked her fans and loved-ones for helping her navigate “teachable moments,” admitting she sometimes has missteps when addressing gender and sexual identity.
“I’m really appreciative for the people who take time to do that,” she said. “… All the beautiful Black trans women that I have in my life that I’m able to just witness — not only living their true fucking power — but [to] be courageous and be fearless and then fiercely educate everybody around them and just be a force in this world! They do it so effortlessly that it comes off almost easy to people who don’t know them. I have so many super badass, bad bitch, trans women friends that I’m just like, ‘I bet people think this shit is a walk in the fucking park because of how you get up and get out the house every day and be this badass bitch.’ But I know it’s fucking hard.”
Shaq pays for random guy's engagement ring at an Atlanta jewelry store!
NBA legend and "Inside the NBA" analyst Shaquille O'Neal made a man's day on Tuesday. He decided to pay for the engagement ring the man was about to buy at an Atlanta jewelry store.
In a video posted on his Instagram, Shaq hands his black credit card to a store employee, then shakes the hand of the guy whose ring he just purchased.
On Tuesday night's edition of "Inside the NBA," Shaq talked about his random act of kindness. He was apparently at the store to buy some hoop earrings when he heard the guy asking how much he owed on the ring. That's all it took for Shaq to step in and handle the transaction.
Shaq also said that paying for people's stuff is something he does all the time. He recalled paying for the furniture of a mother with an autistic child when he was out shopping with his mother recently, but there are more examples out in the world. In January 2020, Shaq paid for a man's Best Buy purchase after he expressed condolences on the loss of Kobe Bryant.
In 2019, he bought iPads for two kids in Spain.
Shaq said on "Inside the NBA" that he's just trying to make people smile. Swooping in to pay for people's purchases when they're least expecting it is exactly how to make that happen.
IN WTH?!? NEWS: UNC Head Coach Hubert Davis Said He’s ‘Proud’ His Wife Is White!
Hubert Davis, the new men’s basketball coach at the University of North Carolina, was officially introduced at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that went all the way to the left after he randomly interjected he was “proud” to have a white wife.
Davis, 50, will succeed newly retired head coach Roy Williams and spoke to a pool of reporters on Tuesday.
And all was well…until it wasn’t. Instead of focusing on the fact that Davis made history as the school’s first Black head coach, Davis’ uplifting of his wife overshadowed the moment.
“It is significant…it’s significant that I’m African American and I’m the head coach here. It’s significant,” he said when asked about the historic moment.
But the train started going off the track with his next statement:
“I know that in terms of Division 1 head coaches all around the country, only 26 percent of the head coaches are compromised by minorities, specifically African-Americans. I know that it is significant that I’m fourth African-American head coach in any sport in the history of North Carolina. I’m very proud to be African American. But I’m also very proud that my wife is white, and I’m very proud that my three beautiful, unbelievable kids are a combination of both of us,” Davis said.
Social media users quickly gathered Davis together over the strange statement. The Black delegation immediately wanted nothing to do with this part of the narrative. In our best Tyra Banks impression: “We were all rooting for you!”
Davis, a former first-round draft for the Knicks, spent six seasons in the NBA with different teams until he retired in 2004, later went on to be an ESPN analyst. Davis is also a former Tar Heel and played on the men’s team under legendary UNC Coach Dean Smith from 1988-1992. He helped the team win two ACC championships and competed in the 1991 Final Four.
Davis worked as an assistant coach under Williams for nine seasons, ESPN reports, and was picked from a large field of candidates and UNC alumni including UNC assistant coach Steve Robinson, Vanderbilt head coach Jerry Stackhouse, Wes Miller, head coach at UNC-Greensboro, and King Rice.
“I wanted this job,” Davis said Tuesday. “I’ve always wanted to be a head coach. I just have always wanted to be a head coach — only here.”
“I am honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to lead this program,” Davis said after his hiring was announced on Monday. “I would not be here without Coach Dean Smith, Coach Bill Guthridge and Coach Roy Williams; they taught me so much — and I’m eager to walk their path in my shoes and with my personality. I also would not be here without Chancellor [Kevin] Guskiewicz and Bubba Cunningham. I appreciate their faith in me and I look forward to working closely with them.”
Former NFL Player Phillip Adams Kills 5 Before Killing Himself in South Carolina!
According to ABC News, the gunman who killed five people in South Carolina was former NFL player Phillip Adams, who committed suicide early this morning.
Out of the five people shot, a prominent doctor was included. Apparently, Adams’s parents lived near the doctor’s home in Rock Hill, and that same doctor previously treated him.
At around midnight, Phillips killed himself with a .45-caliber weapon.
The York County coroner’s office reported that Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene, and grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5.
James Lewis, 38, of Gaston, a worker at the house, was shot outside. A sixth person was taken to the hospital with “serious gunshot wounds,” according to York County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Trent Faris.
Deputies were called to the Lesslies’ home about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, and the perpetrator was discovered in a nearby home after a long search.
“We have found the person we believe is responsible, and we are with him at this time, and that’s all I can say about the suspect,” Faris said, adding that they had no reason to believe anyone else was involved. “We are currently at his house, and we are serving a search warrant.”
According to his website, Lesslie had served as an emergency room doctor in Rock Hill for decades, becoming board-certified in both emergency medicine and occupational medicine and working as the emergency department medical director at Rock Hill General Hospital for nearly 15 years.
He also wrote a weekly medical column for The Charlotte Observer and created two urgent care centers in the city. He also published a book called “Angels in the ER,” which collected “inspiring true stories” from his time working in the emergency room.
“I know without a doubt that life is fragile,” Lesslie wrote. “I have come to understand that humility may be the greatest virtue. And I am convinced we need to take the time to say the things we deeply feel to the people we deeply care about.”
Lesslie was well-known in the Rock Hill culture, according to Faris.
“Dr. Lesslie was my doctor growing up,” Faris said. “Dr. Lesslie has been one of those people that everybody knows. He started Riverview Medical Center in Rock Hill, and it’s been a staple in Rock Hill for years.”

Wendy Williams is running mundane errands with beau Mike Esterman!
Wendy Williams is spending her show’s hiatus with beau Mike Esterman in Maryland — running errands and having a date night at The Cheesecake Factory.
The daytime talk show host has been updating fans and followers of her adventures below the Mason-Dixon line, which has included Burger King, getting Esterman’s car serviced and more.
“A guest house, a heated pool. Stone water fall. The thing about hiatus is I only go where I want,” Williams captioned a photo of Esterman’s backyard.
“He said we’re going to have great food @ a place he knows I will love. You asked me how I keep my figure & I’ve always told you 3 bites done!”
It turns out that restaurant was The Cheesecake Factory, as Williams posted a photo of her fried chicken and salad with the chain restaurant’s menu in the background.
“Yumm!! What’s your dinner?” she asked her followers in the photo caption.
It’s unclear if she took “3 bites” and left the rest.
Williams, 56, also shared a photo of herself waiting in Esterman’s car while he met with mechanics to service his car.
“His car had an appointment. I’m along for the ride. I’m just enjoying my PRIVATE life & the love for our show!” Williams captioned her not-so-private photo on her public Instagram.
The “Wendy Williams Experience” author said ixn late March that she was heartbroken that Esterman had to leave New York City to return to the Free State but planned to visit him.
“I really like him, and he really likes me. Like it broke my heart when he was leaving,” she said on her show. “Like I walked him to the elevator and waited for the doors to close.”
Williams and Esterman, a 55-year-old contractor, met when he entered her show’s “Date Wendy” segment. Williams selected Esterman as the winner out of a group of three contestants who were vying for a romantic night out with her.
