Tracee Ellis Ross For In Shape Magazine and She Will receive The Fashion Icon Award at The 2020 People’s Choice Awards!
Tracee Ellis Ross says she is happily single and has been enjoying her own company throughout the pandemic.
The “Black-ish” star told Shape: “I am happily single, though that doesn’t mean I am not open to and don’t want a relationship. But in my wonderful and robust experience of being single, I have learned to have a productive relationship with loneliness and an intensely juicy relationship with my joyful solitude — I really enjoy my company.”
The actress, who was briefly connected to “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris last year, explained, “One of the things that’s been lovely to discover is how I care for myself and how I actively love myself. And I believe that love is an action: You get back what you put in.”
The 47-year-old daughter of icon Diana Ross added, “I used to spend so much time trying to be perfect, to get it perfect. But that’s not realistic. Bad feelings come up.”
The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards won’t air until Sunday, November 15, but Tracee Ellis Ross is already a winner.
On Friday, E! announced that the “Black-ish” star, 47, will receive the Fashion Icon of 2020 Award for her “trailblazing” and “transcendent” personal style, along with her use of fashion to champion the causes close to her heart.
A longtime fixture on best-dressed lists, Ross once worked as a model and contributing fashion editor to Mirabella and New York magazines before her big break on “Girlfriends” in 2000. She even made her runway debut for Thierry Mugler at Paris Fashion Week in 1991, strutting alongside her famous mom, Diana Ross.
In the decades since, Ross has hit the red carpet in jaw-dropping looks from Gucci, Chanel, Valentino and more. She’s also a champion of young creatives of color, memorably wearing a series of looks entirely by black designers to host the 2018 American Music Awards. And her hair care line Pattern, launched in 2019, caters to those with curly, coily and textured hair.

#RHOA: Kenya Moore Ahead Of Daughter’s 2nd Birthday Gets Nostalgic!
Kenya Moore has been in a bit of a nostalgic mood ahead of her daughter Brooklyn Daly’s second birthday next month.
On Friday, The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star shared a flashback video of a baby Brooklyn crawling around the house. She captioned the video, “#FBF same personality.”
After years of struggling with infertility due to fibroids, Kenya welcomed her daughter Brooklyn Daly on November 4th, 2018.
“In just a few weeks @thebrooklyndaly will be 2 years old! I just can’t believe this incredible miracle baby. God blessed my family with,” Moore shared on her Instagram last week.
Moore went on to ask her fans for birthday party ideas.
She continued, “Trying to hold back tears. Don’t know what to do for her party during Covid. Please drop suggestions below.”
And suggest they did! One fan suggested an outdoor party. The commenter wrote, “A costume theme party with close friends and family. If the weather is still comfortable in Atlanta have it outside. All food prepackaged. A personal cake for Brooklyn. Some type of entertainment for her and her friends for about 30mins. -OR- Movie in the backyard… movie theme party. I could go on & on….”
Others suggested that Kenya skip having a close gathering altogether. “I would be careful doing gatherings of any kind. Drive by parties, virtual magic shows, OR a kiddo Zoom party with other kiddos facilitating games and goodies are safe and healthy alternatives. Deliver gift bags with games to the invitees a couple of days before the party to ensure collaboration and synergy for her party,” the commenter wrote.

#HipHopNews: Travis Scott Teases ‘Utopia’ 2021 Release!
Fans will have to wait until next year for Utopia. Travis Scott revealed that his highly-anticipated album won’t arrive until 2021. He recently sent a handwritten letter to radio DJs across the country thanking them for their support. At the end of his message, he teased his next project.
“Thank you again! For all of the support and see you guys in 2021 in Utopia!!” wrote Travis.
Fans now believe that the long-awaited follow-up to Astroworld will drop next year. In the meantime, Travis has been holding his Ragers over with music including his Young Thug and M.I.A.-assisted single “Franchise,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and spawned a remix with Future.
During an episode of .WAV Radio earlier this month, he previewed a song with Bryson Tiller called “Blunt Talk” as well as a collaboration with 21 Savage.
Travis has yet to officially announce Utopia as his album title, but he has referenced it on social media, in his McDonald’s merch, and in interviews. “Where does one go after Astroworld? You go to utopia. That’s where we go,” he told GQ.
Kanye West Responds After Issa Rae Says ‘F Him’ During ‘SNL’ Skit!
Issa Rae is voting for everybody Black…but Kanye West.
As part of her hosting duties on last night’s episode of “SNL,” the “Insecure” star appeared in a skit called “Your Voice Chicago” where she played Jamele Demmings, a lawyer for the NAACP alongside Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim. While discussing the upcoming election and representation in politics, Rae’s character swore to vote for “everybody Black,” a reference to her now infamous interview at the 2017 Emmys.
“For too long, our people’s voices have not been heard,” she said. “It’s our duty to stand together and take our power back.”
At the end, the presidential race was brought up. But that’s where Issa’s character drew the line. “Kanye? F him,” she said.
Issa’s shot at Kanye didn’t go over well. The next day, the presidential hopeful responded by calling out the actress and “SNL.” He shared a screenshot of a Google search with Rae’s name and said he was praying for her and her family.
“Ive always said SNL uses black people to hold other black people back,” tweeted Ye. “My heart goes out to Issa Rae I’m praying for her and her family.”
He continued, “I know that the twenty years of service that I’ve paid in the entertainment field has furthered our ability to be more successful.”
This isn’t the first time West has put “SNL” on blast. Despite his numerous appearances, he has often criticized the show, including on his 2010 song “Power.” “F**k ‘SNL’ and the whole cast / Tell ’em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass,” he raps.
In response to West’s latest comments, some Twitter users brought up his controversial appearance on “SNL” in 2018 where he famously wore a MAGA hat in support of Donald Trump.
Kanye continues to campaign in the 2020 presidential election. Last week, he released his first campaign ad and has been encouraging people to write in his name on the ballot.
L.A. Reid Sells All Of His 162-Song Writing And Publishing Catalog!
According to a recent report from Variety Magazine, Grammy Award-winning hitmaker L.A. Reid has taken a similar route as a couple of other super producers and sold all of his 162-song writing and publishing catalog that has made him a household name.
Reid is reportedly selling the catalog entire catalog to Hipgnosis Songs, the same company that reportedly bought some of RZA and No I.D’s publishing catalog.
As previously reported, RZA did sell the entire Wu-Tang Clan catalog, however, Hipgnosis Songs was not mentioned in the deal.
Reid spoke on the surprising decision, saying, “I can’t imagine a better home for my lifetime of music and songs than Hipgnosis. Merck and his dream team truly value artists and their creative vision, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with them for this exciting new chapter.”

Adele to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ next week with musical guest H.E.R.!
Adele will be saying “Hello” from Studio 8H next weekend.
On Sunday, the 32-year-old singer announced she’ll be making her hosting debut on the Oct. 24 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” where she’ll be joined by singer-songwriter H.E.R. as the musical guest.
“I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!!” the Grammy winner exclaimed on Instagram.
“I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right,” she continued. “But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?”
Adele, who appeared on “SNL” in 2008 and 2015 as the musical guest, also gushed about seeing H.E.R. perform next week.
“I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all,” Adele posted.

Bond was denied Friday for ‘Cheer’ star Jerry Harris. A Cook County judged ruled Harris will remain in jail while he awaits trial on child pornography charges.
Prosecutors said Harris first contacted one of the boys when he was 13, with Instagram messages show Harris asking the boy for pictures of his face and “booty.”
Harris’ attorney argues that he was a teenager himself, but still an adult when the contact began with the boy.
A motion from Harris’ attorneys filed ahead of a court hearing Wednesday argues that the mental health treatment that the 21-year-old suburban Chicago man needs is not available in federal jail. The document also said that Harris has asthma, which puts him at greater risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
The 2020 World Series Is set: LA Dodgers vs. Tampa Bay Rays!
The Los Angeles Dodgers are headed to the World Series.
The Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3 in a pivotal Game 7 of the National League Championship series Sunday.
The team will now go head-to-head with the Tampa Bay Rays when the World Series starts Tuesday evening in Arlington, Texas, at the newly-opened Globe Life Field, televised on Fox.
This is the 20th World Series appearance in the storied history of the Dodgers franchise. The Dodgers will now have represented the National League in the World Series in three of the last four years. The Dodgers have won the World Series six times, with the last championship coming in 1988.
This is Tampa Bay's second World Series appearance in franchise history, with the other coming in 2008.
The Rays defeated the Houston Astros 4-2 in Game 7 Saturday night in San Diego's Petco Park.
#BoxOfficeNews: Liam Neeson’s ‘Honest Thief’ Notches No. 1 At Box Office
Liam Neeson’s thriller “Honest Thief” stole the top spot at the box office in yet another quiet weekend of moviegoing.
The Open Roads Films movie brought in $3.7 million in North America the weekend of its U.S. debut. The film, starring Neeson as a notorious bank robber who turns himself in but was double crossed by two FBI agents, opened in Canada last week.
The film also played well in markets including Miami, Chicago, San Diego and Atlanta, according to the studio.
“Honest Thief” overtook “The War with Grandpa,” which claimed No. 1 last week. Despite coming in second, the comedy starring Robert De Niro earned $2.5 million. It has garnered $7.3 million domestically within a 10-day timespan.
Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” came in third with $1.6 million. The action-thriller starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson has totaled $50.6 million in the U.S.
'Hocus Pocus' Stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy Reunite in Sanderson Sisters Costumes!
Hocus Pocus stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy came back together to play the Sanderson sisters for a special reunion the night before Halloween. Midler shared a picture from the reunion, which is being filmed for the New York Restoration Project's virtual Halloween fundraising event called Hulaween. The event kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 30.
Midler's picture of the trio showed them in their full Sanderson sisters' costumes, standing in front of a blue screen. "Your 3 fav witches - [Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy] & ME - are returning for 1 night only on 10/30 at 8p ET," Midler wrote. Hocus Pocus hit theaters in 1993 and remains a pop culture touchstone, especially for those who grew up watching the Disney film. There have constantly been rumors about a follow-up, and Disney is finally putting one together for Disney+. The new project will be directed by Adam Shankman, who is also working on a sequel to Enchanted called Disenchanted, Variety reported in March. The Hocus Pocus sequel will be written by Jen D'Angelo and produced by Lynn Harris.
Midler, Parker, and Najimy are not signed on for the sequel, but Disney reportedly hopes they will be involved. Considering that Midler and Najimy told Entertainment Tonight in 2019 they would be interested in making a Hocus Pocus 2, that seems possible. "Oh my goodness me. Oh I hope they get to me before I'm a corpse," Midler said at the time. "We wanna fly again. I hope Disney+ is a big success and I hope we get to do it, because [Winifred] is of course one of my favorite characters."
Hocus Pocus was directed by Kenny Ortega, who would later helm the High School Musical and Descendants franchises for Disney, and written by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert, with a story by Garris and producer David Kirschner. It was not a hit with critics or at the box office originally, but its annual Halloween airings on Disney Channel and Freeform turned it into a cult classic
Kris Jenner Says Social Media Factored Into ‘KUWTK’ Ending!
Last month Kim Kardashian announced on her Instagram that the family’s longtime reality show, Keep Up With the Kardashians, would be coming to an end after 14 years and 20 seasons.
In a new interview with WWD’s special Beauty Inc. issue, momager Kris Jenner says that social media played a part in ending the show because they no longer have to wait for the show to deliver content to their fans.
“When we first started, there was no Instagram or Snapchat or other social media platforms,” Jenner told the publication. “The world has changed. Now there are so many; the viewer doesn’t have to wait three or four months to see an episode. We can give them all of the information anyone would ever want to know in real-time.”
“Social media is the fastest and most controlled way to get the message out,” she continued. “The consumer gets to see the products the girls are working on in real-time, and they know we’re going to get it out the door pretty quickly. The girls want them to be part of the journey to keep them engaged.”
On his radio show in September, Jenner told Ryan Seacrest on Air with Ryan Seacrest that it was “the right time” to end the show.
“I think the number 20, well, it used to sound good until 2020, but the number 20, it just seemed like the right time,” she explained. “I think for us to take a minute and breathe and everybody slow down a bit. Not slow down professionally, but just you know, figure out what our next steps are.”
However, a revival of the show in the future has not been ruled out. In the meantime, you can still keep up with the Kardashian-Jenner clan on their various social media platforms.
Jennifer Hudson, Who Is Playing Aretha Franklin In Biopic, says If It’s Not A Film, It’s Nothing!
It’s no secret that Jennifer Hudson will be playing Aretha Franklin in the MGM biopic: Respect. In fact, before her passing Aretha Franklin was adamant about Jennifer Hudson ,39, portraying her and even predicted she would win an Oscar.
In light of the late Aretha Franklin‘s passing, there’s also another upcoming National Geographic series Genius: Aretha, starring actress 33-year-old Cynthia Erivo (For Harriet, The Color Purple).
When asked about the series that Cynthia Erivo is starring in, Jennifer Hudson stated:
“I know that Aretha was adamant that [her life] be a film. If it’s not a film, it’s nothing.”
She continued,
“I’m just honored that she picked me to play her. I mean, who can say that? And again, I would have never done it without her wishes.”
Franklin lost her fight with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in 2018 at the age of 76. Despite the fact J-Hud got a green light from Aretha, her own son has spoken out about his displeasure with MGM’s depiction of Franklin and his anger with his family not being contacted.
He did note the family’s approval with Hudson being selected to portray Aretha. He wrote on social media:
“HOW CAN YOU MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT A PERSON AND NOT TALK TO THE PERSONS SONS OR GRANDCHILDREN ABOUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION? HOW CAN YOU PUT A PERSONS FAMILY (IMAGE) IN A BOOK AND NOT ASK PERMISSION?”
The biopic will follow the rise of Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, featuring actors such as Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burges.

Ohio Man Fires Three Shots At Children Playing Basketball After They Yell For Him To Slow Down!
Police in Akron, Ohio, are looking for a man who shot at a group of kids playing basketball in the street after they asked him to slow down.
On Sunday, the kids were playing ball when a white Pontiac G6 with tinted windows and temporary plates sped down the street by the kids. One of the children yelled for the driver to slow down. That’s when the driver pulled over, got out, and fired three shots from a semiautomatic weapon.
“He pulled out the gun, and turned and shot at him, three fires,” Dolly Young told WKYC. Young’s 11-year-old son was one of the children playing basketball.
Young is referring to her 15-year-old neighbor Markeise Smith, who was targeted by the driver.

“He [the driver] should be locked up for what he did because you shouldn’t shoot at kids because they tell you to slow down,” Smith said.
A neighbor captured cell phone video of the shooting and turned it over to authorities.
“This can be traumatic for anyone, especially a 15 and an 11-year-old trying to play. Any information can help. It’s like a puzzle. Every piece helps bring this person to justice and have them answer for their crime,” said Capt. Dave Laughlin to 3News last week.
The Akron Police Department said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
