Gwyneth Paltrow Is Covering Town & Country’s May Issue!
The Oscar-winning actress and CEO and founder of Goop gets candid with Town & Country magazine in her cover story about what prompted her to begin her research in food and nutrition, her devotion to the wellness industry, the double standards she faces as an actress and business mogul, and the message she has for her critics.
On her childhood: “There wasn’t a lot of wellness in the house. My mother was environmentally conscious. She helped pioneer curbside recycling in Santa Monica, and we were the house that had the Hansen’s natural soda.”
On how the treatment of her father’s throat cancer, in 1999, prompted her journey to wellness: “His treatment was so brutal, I was thinking, almost out of desperation, that we had to be able to do something else to help him. That’s when I started to research food and nutrition.”
On her mission with wellness: “I really believe that being alive is just a process of—if you’re not wasting your fucking life — figuring out how you can impact the world positively. You can choose to engage in your life and participate in it, or you can back out and criticize everybody else in your arena.”
On the double standards of being an actress and business mogul: “I don’t want to unnecessarily move myself from one box to another one. In this society we like our women in one digestible way that we understand, but if you try to be something else, we don’t like it. People couldn’t for a long time believe that I was running a company, until they heard me say, ‘I’m giving up acting. I’ll never be onscreen again.’”
On her devotion to the wellness industry: “You can keep resisting it, but I’m on the right side of this. I’m watching the market. I’m watching what’s happening. I think what this wellness movement is really about is listening to yourself, tuning into what interests you, and trying things. Find what makes you feel better and go from there.”
This story appears in the May 2020 issue of Town & Country.
#RHOA: #TWIRL, Nene Leakes Questions Is Kenya Moore’s Marriage To Mark Daly An Agreement and is Brooklyn HER BABY?
The explosive Real Housewives of Atlanta finale has finally premiered. In it, Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore’s feud boils over to the point where they have to be separated by security!
As you probably already know, Nene and Kenya have been going head to head all season. From things nearly getting physical in Toronto to popcorn throwing in Greece — it’s clear that these two can’t stand each other.
During the episode, the girls are talking about the infamous interview that Kenya gave to TMZ at her Kenya Moore Hair Care launch at Sally Beaty.
Moore’s choice words for Leakes were: ‘You know what, honestly, I don’t know. It is definitely an issue within her. I don’t know why she is so intimidated by me. I really wish she would just get herself together because I come in peace but she just always seems to find a way to be bothered.’
She went on to say that Nene bullied everyone on the show and she no longer has friends.
When the Glee alum gets privy to the Queen of Twirls insults, she confides in her on-again off-again friend Wendy Williams where she makes some shocking allegations about Kenya’s baby and marriage.
‘Kenya’s marriage license has never ever been found by no one. She ain’t JLo. She ain’t Beyonce. And they found their marriage license but they can’t find hers because she is not legally married so there’s nothing to divorce — how about that? I heard that it was a handshake and an agreement that they get together and have a baby and she paid for it but I’m not anywhere talking about it because that’s her business.’
It didn’t stop there. ‘You don’t see me on a red carpet asking where her eggs were found. Saying that it was Marc’s sperm and some eggs that they bought or found out of the country somewhere — that’s why the baby looks so much like him.’
Later on in the episode, the two argue and Kandi Burruss’ baby shower where they eventually got pulled apart before possibly coming to blows.
What do you think of this latest accusation?

For the new album, CeeLo collaborated with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, who took on the role of producer. The project is set to release in June 2020 and this is the first new album from CeeLo in five years.
For the first time ever while recording, CeeLo sang with a live band in the same room. That is immediately evident when you listen to the new single “Lead Me”.
CeeLo explains:“I didn’t walk into the studio as the artist CeeLo Green going to record songs for a new album; I went in solely as myself, the writer Thomas Callaway. CeeLo Green preforms the songs that Thomas Callaway writes. I’m a shaman for that old soul and it came through on this album.”

This raw album is a real glimpse inside his true soulful character and life beyond the Gnarls persona and “Forget You” pop-sound. “CeeLo Green is… Thomas Callaway” is soulful, with gospel undertones and naturally was influenced by its surroundings in Nashville. It is a reflection of who Thomas Callaway is and a nod to his church-going, southern family roots. The soulful single and overall album finds CeeLo channeling luminaries like Bill Withers, Donny Hathaway and Staple Singers.

Shake Shack Returning $10 Million Government Loan Meant For Small Businesses!
Shake Shack, one of several large restaurant chains that got federal loans through the coronavirus stimulus law meant to help small businesses, said Sunday night that it is giving all $10 million back.
The New York-based hipster-favorite burger company is among more than a dozen companies with annual revenues in the hundreds of millions that are reported to have received money from the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP. The loan program set aside $349 billion in the stimulus law called the CARES Act to help small businesses keep their workers on the payroll. Less than two weeks after it started, the program has already run out of money.
In a statement Sunday night on LinkedIn, Danny Meyer, Shake Shack's founder and CEO of its parent company, Union Square Hospitality Group, and Randy Garutti, Shake Shack's CEO, said the company pursued the loan because the law stipulated that it was open to any restaurant location with no more than 500 employees — which describes Shake Shack's 189 individual U.S. restaurants.
Grainger, silent partner in coronavirus contract, sold protective gear to U.S. for double the cost
Even after 'flattening the curve,' Americans face a long road back to pre-coronavirus normalcy
The program offered to forgive the loans if recipients rehired furloughed and laid-off workers by June, and because Shake Shack and its parent company had already furloughed hundreds of employees, they said, they gambled that "the best chance of keeping our teams working, off the unemployment line and hiring back our furloughed and laid off employees, would be to apply now and hope things would be clarified in time."
But they said they had no idea the fund would dry up so quickly, so after they were able to secure separate funding last week, "we've decided to immediately return the entire $10 million" so restaurants that "need it most can get it now."
"We now know that the first phase of the PPP was underfunded, and many who need it most, haven't gotten any assistance," Meyer and Garutti wrote, urging Congress to ensure that "all restaurants no matter their size have equal ability to get back on their feet and hire back their teams."
"Our people would benefit from a $10 million PPP loan, but we're fortunate to now have access to capital that others do not," they wrote. "Until every restaurant that needs it has had the same opportunity to receive assistance, we’re returning ours."
Kandi Burruss Addresses Speculation That She's Night Angel on 'Masked Singer'!
Is Kandi Burruss really the Night Angel?! While appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday night (April 19), the 43-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta star was asked by Andy Cohen if she’s under the mask on The Masked Singer.
Fans have been convinced since day one that Kandi is the Night Angel based on these clues, however, Kandi isn’t spilling any secrets.
“People ask me that all the time, but this is what I have to say about it,” Kandi started. “Season one they [the judges] thought I was on the show – they thought I was somebody – season two they kept guessing my name, now they’re doing the same thing for season three.”
“I didn’t talk about it during season one or season two, and I ain’t going to take about it during season three!” Kandi said. “You’re just gonna have to watch the show!”
After Kandi said that, Andy said he’s still totally convinced she’s the Night Angel.
New episodes of The Masked Singer air on Wednesday nights at 8pm ET on Fox.
#TRAGIC: Local councilman, husband die within hours of each other from COVID-19!
SAN ANTONIO - A love story ended tragically as a couple died within hours of each other. One of their mothers, who lived with them, tested positive and is dealing with the news alone.
We spoke to family members in California who have a message for the nurses and doctors who did everything they could to try to save their family from COVID-19.
"They traveled the world, they took my mom everywhere. To see them, to see one or the other leave, it would’ve been devastating for them," said Tsai.
The Tsai brothers are thanking medical staff at both Methodist and Baptist system who tried to save their brother Philip Tsai and his husband Tony. This, as they worry about their mother.
"In our family, it was three people that got contracted COVID-19, out of those three, two died," said Tsai.
Alfred and Robert say they want to share Philip and Tony's love story, and they know the way they died should serve as a warning to everyone young or old, healthy or sick, male or female.
"You can look at the end of the day, there are two family members we will miss and will never get back. It’s not worth going out socializing and having that chance risking the chance of getting it," said Tsai.
The Tsai brothers tell us Philip had gone to the doctor and was given medications, then sent home to only go back days later and be put on a ventilator. In his last post on Facebook he said:
"Back in the ER.. oxygen super low. Heart rate low. Shortness breath vomiting blood pressure high fever 102.9. Update: I tested positive for corona. Be here for a couple of days.. then quarantine 14 day"
Philip would never make it back home, his husband would soon join him in a San Antonio ICU. Tony had also been sick, but didn't want to go to the E.R., according to his brother-in-law. He was found unresponsive by Philip's mom and days later ended fighting for his life in a hospital room near his husband's.
"These doctors in the ICU and nurses they tell us new frontier for them they’re trying to figure it out all the stuff that you’re hearing on the news and all the stuff that we hear from the actual people fighting in the front lines," said Tsai.
Philip was sitting up and talking in the ICU when he suddenly died. Tony died shortly after. News that Philip's mother is now dealing with in the couple's empty home as she is still quarantine.
"It’s very hard, we had to arrange my other brother who lives in San Antonio to stand outside the house while we tell her the news and that’s the heartbreaking side. We can’t go in, my brothers can’t go in and comfort her she standing in the doorway crying and we’re here in California," said Tsai.
Tony Brooks Tsai was a councilman at Live Oak and worked at San Antonio Military Medical Center. Phillip Thai Brooks owned his own salon called Extreme Opulenece Hair Studio, LLC. They will be buried together at Fort Sam Houston.

Nick Cordero's Wife Vows 'We WILL Dance Again!' After Actor's Leg Amputated In COVID-19 Battle!
Nick Cordero's wife is keeping positive, saying she'll dance again with the Broadway star, despite her husband having his leg amputated due to complications of the coronavirus.
On Saturday, Amanda Kloots shared with fans that Cordero made it through surgery to have his right leg amputated.
Kloots shared a sweet new video to Instagram on Sunday showing the couple dancing at their wedding. She captioned the clip, "Part of our wedding dance that our friends @swaywithmeny choreographed for us. I love dancing with you @nickcordero1 and we WILL dance again!"
The same day, Kloots told followers more about her husband’s recovery: “Okay I just heard from the doctor and he’s doing good guys — for Nick, he is doing the best that he possibly can right now, which is a huge hallelujah.”
She added that the actor's surgery went well, his bleeding had eased and “everything seems to be calmed down," later adding, “We’re still rooting for him to wake up.”
Kloots shared Saturday night in an Instagram Story that she had just gotten "a call from the surgeon" following the procedure.
"He made it through the surgery, which is really big," Kloots said. "They're taking him back to the room to recover and rest for the rest of the night, so hopefully he'll just kind of relax and rest."
Earlier Saturday, Kloots said she had received some "difficult news." She explained that blood thinners doctors were using to help with clotting in Cordero's leg were causing issues with his blood pressure and internal bleeding in his intestines.
"We took him off blood thinners but that again was going to cause some clotting in the right leg, so the right leg will be amputated," she said.
Kloots has been continuously keeping fans updated about her husband's ongoing battle with coronavirus.
On Thursday, she said her husband was taken off his ECMO, or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine.
She offered good and bad news for the Tony-nominated actor.
"The surgery went well. The doctor said for Nick's heart and lungs right now they are in the best condition that they could be," she said, adding that he is still on medication to pump his heart and a ventilator to breathe.
"The next hours coming up are very important because the heart and lung are running on their own now for the first time in couple of days," she said.
Earlier: Tony-nominated Broadway actor Nick Cordero 'fighting for his life' in ICU with coronavirus
Unfortunately, Cordero was still having issue with blood flow to his right leg, she shared.
"The doctor went in there, fixed as much as they possibly could to get blood flow down to his toes again. We don't know what the damage will be. We don't know if he will be able to walk again. We don't know if he can walk again, what that will look like."
On Wednesday, Kloots shared "small wins" in Cordero's journey.
"Nick is getting stronger and the AMAZING doctors and nurses think they can take him off ECMO soon!" she captioned a workout video.
"Anything can change in an instant," she acknowledged, "but we are staying positive! HE IS HEARING US GUYS!" She added "#wakeupnick."
Canadian-born Cordero was admitted to the hospital for what was initially thought to be pneumonia, Kloots wrote on Instagram on April 1. An initial coronavirus test came up negative.
She wrote at the time that Cordero had been placed in a medically induced coma to aid his breathing.
"I miss him terribly. I’m not allowed there to visit of course and can do nothing to help him. Nick is scared too, this has gone from bad to worse. He isn’t allowed to eat or drink, he is very weak and having a hard time breathing."
He tested positive for COVID-19 in a subsequent test.
His wife has been sending him daily videos of her and their 10-month-old son, Elvis, so he could see them when he woke up, and urging friends and fans to join a daily sing-a-long. A GoFundMe fundraiser has raised more than $290,000 to help with his medical costs.
Cordero played a mob soldier with a flair for the dramatic in 2014 in Broadway’s Woody Allen 1994 film adaptation of “Bullets Over Broadway,” for which he received a Tony nomination for best featured actor in a musical. He moved to Los Angeles to star in “Rock of Ages.”
The lanky Cordero originated the menacing role of husband Earl opposite his estranged wife, played by Jessie Mueller, in “Waitress” on Broadway, as well as the role of Sonny in Chazz Palminteri’s “A Bronx Tale.”
On the small screen, Cordero appeared in several episodes of “Blue Bloods” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” as well as “Lilyhammer,” and he had a role in the film “Going in Style.”
The virus has sickened other Broadway veterans, including the actors Danny Burstein, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Gavin Creel, Aaron Tveit and Laura Bell Bundy, as well as composer David Bryan. It also claimed the life of Tony-winning playwright Terrence McNally.
Halle Berry Opens Up About Being Single!
The 53-year-old actress — who has 12-year-old Nahla with former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and 6-year-old Maceo with ex-husband Olivier Martinez — has always been “relationship-oriented” but has been enjoying having more time with just her children and is even considering giving up dating for good.
Speaking to her friend Lena Waithe on Instagram Live, she said: “I’ve learned a lot being with my children. They are the best company for me right now, and when I divorced Maceo’s dad I’ve been pretty alone by myself going on three years now. Decidedly so, for sure.
“I have decided to take time. I’m very much a relationship-oriented person, I always want to be with someone. But I decided, no, I’m going to slow my roll, I’m going to take a minute and I’m going to spend time with me.
“And it’s been so great that I think I might stay like this!”
Berry — who was also previously married to singer Eric BenΓ©t and professional baseball player David Justice — never expected to be single for so long, but she thinks taking such a long break from dating means she won’t get into a new relationship until she knows it’s “totally right” for her.
She added: “I knew I was going to take at least a year, one full year.“One year led to two years, and two years is now leading to three years. “But I’m fine because I think the next relationship I have I think I will have a better chance of attracting and choosing what’s right for me because I’ve taken this time to think about what’s important to me.
“I no longer feel the need for a relationship, so I don’t feel the need to rush or accept something that’s not totally right for me. Not that anything’s wrong with the people I’ve been with, but I’m going to wait for my match or I will stay solo and be with my kids and do my life the way I’m doing it.”
And the John Wick: Chapter 3 star urged people to appreciate their own company. She said: “You know what I think the gift is, and this is something that comes with age, the gift of your own company.
“And you can start it by maybe taking a short trip, a weekend trip and seeing how that feels.
“I promise you, you will start to enjoy that time and being with yourself and your company being the most important company.”
Remains of photographer Peter Beard found on Long Island!
The body of famed photographer Peter Beard was found not far from his Long Island property Sunday, authorities and his family said.
The 82-year-old African wildlife shutterbug — a onetime fixture at Studio 54 and pal of Andy Warhol — suffered from dementia and had been missing from his cliffside Montauk compound since March 31.
A hunter in nearby Camp Hero State Park stumbled on clothing “consistent with” what Beard was wearing when he disappeared, the East Hampton Police Department said.
The remains were soon found in a “densely wooded area” of the park, police said. There was no appearance of foul play.
His family later confirmed Beard’s passing.
“We are all heartbroken by the confirmation of our beloved Peter’s death,” said a statement from Beard’s family, including wife Nejma and their daughter, Zara.
“Peter was an extraordinary man who led an exceptional life. He lived life to the fullest; he squeezed every drop out of every day.’’
The legendary photographer — whose creations have sold for more $500,000 a pop — had a history of wandering off from time to time, even earning the nickname “Walkabout” from friends.
“Peter has always been a wanderer,” a source close to him previously told Page Six.
Close pals had been holding out hope that he’d “just gone on another joyride with one of his friends” when he vanished.
Born into Manhattan high society in 1938, Beard fell in love with Africa as a boy after seeing Museum of Natural History dioramas depicting the continent.
In the mid-1960s, he purchased a rugged 45-acre property in Kenya known as Hog Ranch and spent decades there working.
Adventure was seductive to Beard, who swam with crocodiles, was charged at by rhinos and was once trampled by an elephant.
His first two marriages were to socialite Minnie Cushing in the 1960s and then supermodel Cheryl Tiegs in 1982.
He wed Nejma Khanum, the daughter of a high-court judge, in 1986.
Beard’s disappearance last month sparked a massive search, with dozens of cops and K-9 units going door-to-door and helicopters and drones scanning the coastline.
His family thanked law enforcement for their efforts and friends for their support.
Beard was “an intrepid explorer, unfailingly generous, charismatic, and discerning,” the family statement said.
“Peter defined what it means to be open: open to new ideas, new encounters, new people, new ways of living and being.
“Always insatiably curious, he pursued his passions without restraints and perceived reality through a unique lens. Anyone who spent time in his company was swept up by his enthusiasm and his energy.”
The pioneering contemporary artist “was decades ahead of his time in his efforts to sound the alarm about environmental damage,” the statement said.
“His visual acuity and elemental understanding of the natural environment was fostered by his long stays in the bush and the “wild-deer-ness” he loved and defended.
He died where he lived: in nature.”
Neiman Marcus Is Expected To File For Bankruptcy!
Neiman Marcus Group is preparing to seek bankruptcy protection as soon as this week.
According to the New York Post, the high-end retail chain will become the first major US department store operator to succumb to the economic breakdown brought on by the coronavirus outbreak.
The Dallas-based company, which is riddled with debt, has been left with limited options as the pandemic forced it to temporarily shut all 43 of its stores, including their Neiman Marcus locations, nearly two dozen Last Call stores and its two Bergdorf Goodman stores in New York. The company has already furloughed many of its roughly 14,000 employees.
Last week, Neiman Marcus skipped millions of dollars in debt payments, including one that only gave the company a few days to avoid a default. The retail chain is in the final stages of negotiating a loan with its creditors totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, which would sustain some of its operations during the impending bankruptcy proceedings.
Other department store operators are also struggling to avoid this same fate. Macy’s Inc and Nordstrom Inc have been rushing to try and secure new financing by borrowing against some of their real estate holdings.
The Attendance Is down at Tony Spell's church after coronavirus death of congregant!
Attendance at a Central church headed by a pastor who has defied Louisiana's attempts to restrict crowd size appears to be shrinking from recent weeks, police said Sunday, as the pastor brushed off law enforcement head counts as untrue.
Sunday's service at Life Tabernacle Church attracted about 130 people, down from nearly 500 who attended last week's Easter services, according to police who've been counting the heads of people entering the church for services and forwarding their reports to the District Attorney's Office.
The attendance drop logged by law enforcement follows the recent death of a church congregant and the hospitalization of a lawyer tapped to represent the church's battle against Gov. John Bel Edwards' order limiting crowd sizes to less than 50 people.
The church and its lawyers have argued that grocery stores and other businesses that have remained open are exempt from Edwards' order. Most stores, however, have recently put their own limits on the number of people allowed to enter.
Sources confirmed a 78-year-old man, had contracted the respiratory illness caused by the new virus before he died. A 59-year-old Baton Rouge lawyer hired to represent the church has been hospitalized since last week while battling COVID-19.
It's not clear where the men contracted the virus. The church lawyer, Jeff Wittenbrink, said he has been at Baton Rouge General since Tuesday as his fever and persistent coughs progressively worsened. He said he had regularly gone to grocery stores and other businesses, sometimes twice per day.
Spell had said his Easter service drew more than 1,300 and dismissed the accuracy of law enforcement's number.
"The cops are liars," he told The Advocate Sunday when reached by phone. "Second, never trust a cop after this pandemic."
Spell said his staff track attendance and report it to him in the evening. In early April, Spell said he preached to 1,800 people after his church packed over two dozen buses to bring worshipers to the Hooper Road church. Police say the church hasn't seen nearly that many people but enough people to violate the state's social distancing order.
Spell acknowledged last week that he knew Wittenbrink had contracted the coronavirus and was praying for him. Spell also had disputed the East Baton Rouge Parish coroner's findings, calling them "a lie" and telling local television stations the man, 78-year-old Harold Orillion, died of a broken heart after his son's recent death
Orillion's death was one of 79 deaths tied to the coronavirus in the parish and nearly 1,300 statewide, according to the latest state and coroner figures on Sunday.
Spell was cited last month on six misdemeanor infractions for violating the state's emergency limit on crowd sizes. He has continued to return to the pulpit to preach to his flock and has instructed them to take precautions, like not touching others outside their family and remaining home if sick.
Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran said Sunday his office has been monitoring church services for the past several weeks, but taking action is tricky.
Officials worry that sending law officers into the building may expose them to the virus if someone inside has it. Corcoran added that the constitutional protections houses of worship enjoy has also made taking action a legal minefield.
Lawmakers Urge New York Governor To Shut Down Subways To Stop Coronavirus Spread, “The Subways Are Fueling The Crisis”!
Four New York City Council members are pushing Governor Cuomo to temporarily close the city’s transit system for a necessary deep clean.
According to CBS New York, “the letter cites the high rate of coronavirus deaths among MTA workers.”
To date, COVID-19 has killed 68 employees. MTA workers lack adequate protective gear. Meanwhile, the subways are overcrowded due to “reduced service, and homeless people camping.”
Complaints cited in the letter claimed that one mask and one pair of gloves were given to workers for the entire workweek.
The MTA, however, rightfully has concerns about this ordinance. In a statement regarding the issue, MTA warned that shutting down mass transit would be dangerous and may lead to more deaths. They also noted how their services help many essential personnel get to work every day.
“We’re moving the medical professionals and first-responders who are saving lives every day. The private taxi industry doesn’t have the same capacity as the biggest transit system in North America,” MTA spokesman Shams Tarek said.
In response to this, council members are suggesting that the city and state partner with for-hire-vehicle services to provide rides to essential workers for the week they wish to close
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘RAINY DAY’
COVID, COVID, go away, come again another day…wait, that’s not right. Don’t do the second part actually. Just stay away forever.
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!
