Tyler The Creator for GQ Style Magazine!
Tyler, The Creator is one of the most eclectic personalities in all of hip-hop, as you never know where a conversation with him could be headed. GQ Style sat down with the 27-year-old to shed light on a number of topics, including thoughts on his favorite artists, peculiar childhood traditions, his hopes of eventually ending up on mainstream radio, and much more.
The Flower Boy rapper details the euphoric moment of listening to the chords on Kanye West's ye album closer "Violent Crimes." "Those chords, like, I can’t explain what they do to me. I always talk about chords and probably sound like a fucking dork, but since I was fucking 4-years-old, I would always say it was a slant or it went up, 'cause I didn’t know what chords were, but it was a thing that music did that I just felt in my fucking body," the California native says.
Tyler adds that he had to fight back tears throughout the track. "And that was the most recent song that did it to me. Like, 1 out of 10, that shit did it a 12, and I just -- my eyes just started watering. I couldn’t explain it. I hope when I die it gets explained to me," he admits.
The Golf Wang creator also opens up about his previous unsuccessful attempts to get play on the radio, and how he's confident about making it happen with his upcoming projects. "I’ve been trying to get on the radio," Tyler says. "I haven’t been super successful with that, but that time will come. If it’s not the next album, then it’s the three after that."
Wolf Haley then explains that he doesn't think his voice was cut out for the radio world when compared to the likes of a Kanye West or Drake. "I think there are certain voices that can make it into a mainstream world because of the tone that they’re in. People like [JAY-Z], ‘Ye, Drake, you know, [Kendrick Lamar]. It’s a world that their voice lives in," he says. "It’s not too high and squeaky, and it’s not too low and bassy, it’s not too abrasive and raspy. It sits in this space that’s easy listening for humans. I definitely don’t have that voice. And I fucking wish that I did."
Tyler also has high praise for Eminem and even admits he tried to rap like him on his first two albums. “The thing with Eminem is he’s the reason I started rapping, still one of my favorite rappers. I just want to hang out with him and we go to Target for a few days," he quips. "And go feed some ducks and then, like, listen to some weird fucking German dub-prog-rock-industrial music and then see what we come up with, no strings attached.... I just wanted to rap like Eminem my first two albums."

The Weeknd, Janet Jackson, Shawn Mendes, Cardi B and Janelle MonΓ‘e will headline this year’s festival, taking place Saturday, Sept. 29 in Manhattan’s Central Park.
John Legend will join the lineup as a special guest performer; Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-lee Furness will return to host; and the cohosts will include Gotham star Camren Bicondova, Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, Black Panther‘s Danai Gurira, Forest Whitaker, Olympian Gus Kenworthy, Kal Penn, La La Anthony, Naomi Campbell and Emmy nominee Rachel Brosnahan.
This is the seventh year Global Citizen will host its annual advocacy concert, which aims to move world leaders to enact policy changes regarding women’s equality, education, health, water and sanitation, environment, finance and innovation and food and hunger.
“In 2018, it is more important than ever for Global Citizens here in the United States and around the world to demand their voices be heard — through activism and at the polls — so that we can continue progress towards a world free from needless suffering and want,” Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans said in a statement.
“We are truly grateful to have such incredible artists, hosts and partners standing with us in a moment of history so pivotal in our fight to achieve the global goals and end extreme poverty,” Evans added.
Tickets aren’t available for sale, but rather, fans can win entrance to the festival for philanthropic efforts and must be won via lottery — by earning points for taking action in one’s community, reaching out to world leaders, signing petitions or speaking up on social media. #RHoP star Gizelle Bryant says dating on TV is tough
Gizelle Bryant’s relationship with Sherman Douglas may have come to an end, but the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star learned a valuable lesson about dating on-camera.
“It’s tough, the whole thing is tough. Even when you’re in a good relationship people have their commentary, but to go through a breakup publicly is not fun, and yes, everybody had their commentary,” Bryant, 47, told Page Six on Wednesday. “I decided I’ve just got to live my life and be happy for me, so I can’t really worry about it.”
Following her split with Douglas after a year-and-a-half together, Bryant revealed she’s dating again.
“I have started dating again,” she said, not mentioning her new beau’s name. “He and I are very committed to making it work.”
Bryant credits counseling for helping to improve the budding romance.
“We’re all not perfect, we all have to own our stuff, and you know just because I thought I was a great communicator with people that I talked to, doesn’t necessarily mean I’m a great communicator in a relationship. I’m working on me,” she explained.
With Season 3 of “Potomac” concluding Sunday, Bryant also teased what should be a rousing reunion.
“I saw Andy Cohen yesterday and I asked him about it, and he’s actually seen it in final form, and he said it’s fantastic, so that’s good. Thank you, the Cohen has checked it off,” she said.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
#Empire: Leslie Uggams talks 'Empire' and returning to 'Millie'
Ms. Uggams counts among her newer fans the avid followers of the Fox series “Empire.” Her role as the mother of Terrence Howard’s Lucius started small but kept growing. “I did murder somebody this season, so they put me back in the home, and I don’t know what’s happening next,” she says with a grin. “Everybody murders somebody on that show, but for some reason, I’m being punished!”
She got a taste of Leah’s devotees while picking up her 8-year-old granddaughter Cassidy at school one day. She heard screaming coming from a bus, and she realized it was a bunch of teens who had recognized their favorite mad mama from “Empire.”
She can’t help but add that a lot of those young fans don’t know that she sings, even though, “It’s in my DNA.” But in case anyone is looking for evidence, “I’m all over YouTube,” she says.

Drake’s Scorpion has maintained its No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending August 2.
It marks the album’s fifth consecutive week in the top slot. The last album to accomplish this feat was the Toronto rap titan’s VIEWS, which spent a total of nine consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 2016. It hit a total of 13 non-consecutive weeks at the top.

The 6 God has surpassed JAY-Z as the Hip-Hop artist with the second-most weeks at No. 1, behind Eminem, who has 32 weeks at the top. Drake currently has 26 weeks at No. 1.
Scorpion marks Drake’s fifth solo studio album and was supported by singles such as “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What” and “In My Feelings.”
OH NO! Pink Hospitalized in Australia While on Tour, Postpones Concerts
According to our friends over at The Blast Pink was unable to shake the bug she caught while Down Under, and is recovering in the hospital after being diagnosed with a nasty gastric virus.
Live Nation made the announcement that the “What About Us” singer was hospitalized Sunday night in Sydney with symptoms of dehydration. She was apparently treated and discharged, but then readmitted Monday morning. Now, it is revealed she has been diagnosed with a gastric virus, and will need to remain in the hospital overnight while she continues “treatment and recovery.”
Pink was forced to come to her own defense over the weekend after she was photographed on the beach with her family after postponing her first show in Australia.
The singer said the beach trip to Byron was pre-scheduled so that she could spend time with her children during Summer break, and that the trip involved “Two doctor visits in Byron on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick’s, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil,” and to top it off she had a “screaming baby in the middle of the night, every night.”
Oy, she deserves a little relaxation…..Get well soon!

'American Horror Story: Apocalypse' Releases Disturbing Teaser Trailer
As American Horror Story: Apocalypse creeps closer, FX is feeding fans tidbits to keep us salivating for more until the eighth season premieres next month.
After letting us know that not only will the new season be a crossover of two fan favorites—Coven and Murder House—but that Jessica Lange will be returning to the show to reprise her infamous role as Constance Langdon, the show revealed its first teaser trailer on Monday (August 6). Unsurprisingly, it's disturbing. Like, really disturbing.
The minute-long video features everything from fetuses and skulls trapped in hourglasses to nuclear explosions and blood seeping from gas masks. It's pretty much everything you'd expect from an AHS teaser.
Watch the freaky clip HERE
Returning alongside Lange for Apocalypse is Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Cheyenne Jackson and new arrival Joan Collins.
Though Peters is exceptional at playing utterly terrifying villains, he recently told GQ that he's not a fan of the dark, intense characters he usually portrays in AHS. "I'm goofy, I'm silly, I like to have fun. I don't like to yell and scream," he explained in the interview. "I actually hate it. I think it's disgusting and really awful, and it's been a challenge for me. Horror Story sort of demanded that of me."
So appreciate him in this eighth season, fans, because it could be his last.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres on FX September 12.

Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life.
Not only is he the scion of one of the country’s wealthiest families, but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick’s arm puts a target on Rachel’s back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick’s own disapproving mother (Michelle Yeoh) taking aim.
The film is directed by Jon M. Chu.
West Hollywood Council urges removal of Donald Trump’s Walk of Fame star
The West Hollywood City Council voted Monday night to urge the removal of President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the city’s mayor said.
According to reports, The neighborhood’s City Council passed the resolution, citing Trump’s “attacks” on “minorities, immigrants” and other groups, West Hollywood Mayor John Duran said a statement to NBC News.
“The West Hollywood City Council did not pass the resolution because Donald Trump is a conservative or a Republican. Earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honor. When one belittles and attacks minorities, immigrants, Muslims, people with disabilities or women — the honor no longer exists,” Duran said in an email.
The council’s staff report on the resolution also cited the Trump administration’s separation of immigrant families at the U.S. border and Trump’s “denial of findings from the United States intelligence community regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election and continued refusal to hold Russia accountable for its crimes.”

Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima have SPLIT!
It’s over for Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star, 39, has reportedly split from the 25-year-old model — and he’s already traveled to Mexico and flaunted PDA with another woman, according to photos obtained by TMZ.
The pair got together in 2016. The breakup comes after their long summer vacation in Italy, as well as his controversial comments on her social media photos. “[That’s] what you need to show to get likes?” he wrote in a since-deleted comment on a picture that showed a bit of her butt.
After Kardashian’s fans took to his Instagram to comment on all of his shirtless posts, Bendjima seemed to learn his lesson and commented on another one of Kardashian’s posts, writing, “Hmmm well…ok for this one,” which also included a tongue-sticking-out emoji.
Bendjima shared a screenshot of a Daily Mail article on his Instagram story that showed him with the mystery woman and wrote, “They really want me to be the bad guy. F–k your Hollywood bulls–t (cant have fun with your friends no more).”
Kardashian hasn’t publicly commented on the split.
Due to Rating drops! Mona Scott-Young Replaces Most of the Cast of ‘Love and Hip Hop: New York’
“Love and Hip Hop” executive producer Mona Scott-Young revamped the entire cast of the New York franchise and fans can expect new additions to be added to the crew.
Young was apparently fed up with the drama of the former ‘LHHNY’ crew and the bad ratings of season 8. The producer has allegedly brought back some of the originals members including rapper Joe Budden and his girlfriend Cyn Santana. The couple will allegedly star on the new season and give fans a glimpse of their relationship with their new baby Lexington Budden, according to Bossip.
The source reported that majority of the previous cast-members were fired from the show. Fans speculated cast-mates such as Brittany Taylor, Dream Doll, Snoop, Bianca Bonnie, DJ Self, Lil Mo and her husband Karl Dargan, James R, Sophia Body and possibly Mariah Lynn will not be returning for the new season.
Lynn actually wrote a tweet on Saturday that may have confirmed her departure.
“I think I might be time but I love everyone so much and I’m so grateful for the opportunity,” she stated. “It really has changed my whole life and helped me to learn so much about myself for that I will forever be grateful.”
However, Young does plan on bringing back Juelz Santana’s long-time girlfriend Kimbella and reportedly adding Maino and his girlfriend Maggie Carrie to the season 9 cast. The source reported that the “Hi Hater” rapper received a pretty nice offer of money to be on “LHHNY.”
Other members that are guaranteed to appear on the upcoming season are Yandy Smith, Jonathon Fernandez, Kiyanne, Jacquae, Anais and her husband Ruben, Rich Dollaz, Safaree, Ju Ju (who will make guest appearances) and viewers favorite couple Remy Ma and Papoose.
The new season for “LHHNY” is still being filmed and VH1 has yet to announce the premiere date
Ruby Rose Cast as Batwoman in The CW's Arrowverse
Ruby Rose has been tapped to play Kate Kane/Batwoman, the first openly lesbian superhero on television, for The CW's Batwoman. Her character will debut in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event on the network in December.
Rose's casting comes after recent reports indicated that the network had made a priority of casting an openly gay actress to play Batwoman. Rose, who is herself openly gay, may be best known to audiences for her role on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black. She has also appeared in Pitch Perfect 3, John Wick: Chapter 2, and will next appear in The Meg.
With Rose's casting, The CW further cements its reputation for diverse characters and actors. The network recently cast transgender actress Nicole Maines to play the first live-action trans superhero on the network's Supergirl next season.
In comics, Batwoman is the first major DC superhero to be openly gay. First introduced in 1956, Batwoman largely disappeared from continuity until 2006, when she was reintroduced. An openly gay Jewish woman, Batwoman has a military background and has proven herself every bit Batman's equal on the pages of comic books. She's even served as the primary featured hero for Gotham City in Detective Comics while Batman wasnt in the picture.
In The CW series, which the network said is in the early stages of development, the character appears to be leaning heavily into that comic book representation. In a casting description for Batwoman, Kate Kane is described as proudly openly gay and having once aspired to have a successful military career, dreams that were snuffed when she was kicked out of West Point for coming out. As in comics, television's Batwoman will also have to face many of her own personal demons even as she suits up as Gotham's symbol of hope and justice.
Rose's casting comes on the heels of Monday's statement by network president Mark Pedowitz that the network anticipates a pilot for the Batwoman series as early as midseason.
"We'll do a pilot for midseason, whether it goes to series, I cannot tell you," Pedowitz said at the TCA summer press tour. "We have five [DC shows] on the air and just added a sixth night."
Caroline Dries, who served as a writer and producer on The Vampire Diaries, is set to be the executive producer on Batwoman. Joining Dries in the EP role are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns, the latter of which recently stepped down as the head of DC Entertainment. Berlanti and Schechter will produce via Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. If picked up, the series would air in the 2019 TV season.
Fans will get their first look at Rose as Batwoman in the big Arrowverse crossover event this December on The CW.
CBS Says Its Consolidating Les Moonves And Charlie Rose Investigations
The CBS board of directors said the findings of a law firm’s investigation into claims that led to the firing of Charlie Rose will be folded into the results of two new law firms’ work investigating claims against CEO Les Moonves and the culture of CBS News.
Related'60 Minutes' Exec Producer Jeff Fager Will Not Return To Work Tomorrow
The latter firms were hired last week by the CBS board of directors after details of alleged harassment by Moonves and questions of an inappropriate culture at CBS News surfaced in an expose in the New Yorker. All three law firms will now report to the board, rather than management.
The news comes after CBS News said Sunday that Jeff Fager, executive producer of CBS’ 60 Minutes and the former head of the news division, will not be back at the office this week, extending his planned vacation. The New Yorker report included allegations that Fager enabled an atmosphere of harassment at 60 Minutes and himself made unwanted advances; he has denied the claims.
When CBS ordered a second investigation after an August 1 board meeting, the board said a special committee comprised of former NAACP president Bruce S. Gordon, restaurateur Linda Griego and Los Angeles-based entertainment lawyer Robert N. Klieger will oversee the probe.
CBS News reported that staffers were told today of the consolidation.
The law firm of Proskauer Rose was hired in March to investigate the CBS News division and claims against its CBS This Morning host Rose, who was fired in November 2017 over allegations of sexual misconduct that first surfaced in the Washington Post (he was also terminated as host of the long-running PBS series Charlie Rose.) Those findings were expected this month.
There is no new timeline for the new investigation, which is being conducted by Covington & Burling and Debevoise & Plimpton, CBS said.
