#BARBZ: Nicki Minaj Talks Meek Mill Case, Being Single, And More In ‘Elle’ Magazine
Nicki Minaj rocks the latest magazine ‘Elle’ Magazine ’s July 2018 issue discusses the following topics: being single, Meek Mill’s imprisonment, and new music.
On being single.
“It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been single.”
Nicki is now in her mid thirties, and from the age of 15 until just last fall, she has always had a serious boyfriend. “Six years, twelve years, three, four,” she says. Over time, this came to have consequences she didn’t anticipate.
“I remember feeling like I could do anything at one time in my life,” she says, “and somewhere along the line, I just started second guessing myself, for whatever reason.” That all ended when she started learning how to sleep alone. “As soon as I realized that I could actually live and breathe, and eat and sleep, and walk and talk without having a boyfriend, something clicked in me.”
“Becoming single,” she goes on, “was one of the things that made me feel strong and powerful. The fact that I am a young woman who doesn’t need a man for money. I don’t need a man for a job. I’ve never had to fuck for beats. I’ve never had to fuck for a record deal. I don’t have those pressures. I get up when I want, shop when I want.”
On Meek Mill’s legal problems.
Nicki Minaj called the judge who was widely criticized over her handling of rapper Meek Mill’s case “very sweet and maternal”.
Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court is denying Meek Mill’s motion to have Judge Brinkley removed from his case at least until after his next hearing.
“I know that when I went there pleading for his freedom, I know that she”—Judge Brinkley—“spoke to me and was very sweet and maternal, and we both cried in her chambers, and she gave him another chance,” Nicki says. “So I don’t know what’s going on.”
According to Meek and his lawyer, while Nicki and Meek were still together, she witnessed a bizarre incident in Brinkley’s chambers in which Brinkley suggested Meek remake “On Bended Knee,” by Philly natives Boyz II Men. Meek demurred—he says Nicki actually laughed out loud. (Brinkley declined to comment for this story.)
Meek’s cause. But she doesn’t. She says legal a few more times, then goes quiet without confirming Meek’s account.
On new album ‘Queen’
“I really think it’s gonna be the best album of the year,” she says. As we sit here, it’s only mid-April, and Beyoncé has yet to weigh in on the matter. But this much is already certain: Queen is Nicki’s best work—spare, aggressive, boom-bappy as fuck. It’s Nicki Minaj in beast mode. “I went through a moment where I got to know myself again, and then I went through a moment where I got to know myself as the rapper again. And then I locked [myself] in the studio”—see?—“and I didn’t want to leave.” She basically hasn’t left since. “Spiritually, I’ve experienced more growth in the last six months of my life, of my career, than I have in the last eight years.”
#RHoA: Gregg Leakes, I have Cancer Now the battle begins!
NeNe Leakes just revealed that her husband, Gregg Leakes, has been diagnosed with cancer.
“Our New Normal and the fight begins👊🏾,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 50, captioned an Instagram photo of Gregg sitting in front of a computer screen that read “Cancer” with a red line through it on Wednesday, June 13. “#f—kcancer🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾#mdandersoncancercenter #yougotthis#iloveyou.”
NeNe announced in May that she was canceling her upcoming comedy shows because Gregg, 63, had been in the hospital for more than two weeks.
“First of all, I just want to say that I feel very blessed and extremely lucky to be able to do what I do. I’m so grateful that you guys purchased tickets to see me everywhere,” she said in an Instagram video on May 22. “I have to cancel my Albany, New York, show and my New York City Caroline’s show. Today marks the 15th day straight that Gregg has been in the hospital.”
“I find it very difficult to stand on stage and laugh and have a good time and give you guys your money’s worth knowing that my husband is in the hospital not feeling well. He has said to me over and over again, ‘Go on, go out there, have a good time, do the show, I’m going to be fine.’ But I find it mentally very hard for me to do that,” NeNe continued. “Gregg will be out of the hospital this week. He will be stronger, he will be better and we will be out here doing this show again in no time. Thank you for loving me! Thank you so much.”
Gregg’s health issues were also documented on a November 2017 episode of RHOA when he was hospitalization for a “dangerously low” heart rate.
“I heard his voice on the phone and I knew that he was afraid,” the Glee alum said during the episode. “Oh my God, what if Gregg doesn’t come home? What will they find? Is this something that Gregg’s not telling me? I can’t even imaging Gregg not walking on this earth. I can’t do this. Gregg has to get better.”
NeNe and Gregg tied the knot in 1997 and separated in 2010. Their divorce was finalized in 2011, but the duo later reconciled and remarried in 2013. Their second wedding was featured on a RHOA spinoff titled I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding.

Bun B’s fifth solo album has a new release date. After teasing a March 16 release that came and went earlier this year, the UGK MC has announced his Return Of The Trill LP will drop on August 31. The legendary MC shared the date, along with his album’s cover art, in a recent Instagram post.

Return Of The Trill will be Bun’s first album since 2013’s Trill OG: The Epilogue.
Oh My? Dolce and Gabbana’s Stefano Gabbana Calls Selena Gomez ‘So Ugly’!
Selena Gomez’s fans came to her defense after designer Stefano Gabbana made an offensive remark about her appearance.
The Dolce & Gabbana fashion house cofounder, 55, went after Gomez, 25, via social media on Monday, June 11, after the Instagram account @TheCatWalkItalia posted a collage of the “Back to You” songstress wearing red. Gabbana criticized Gomez’ looks, writing in the comments, “É proprio brutta!!!,” which translates from Italian to English as, “She’s so ugly!!!”
Although Gomez has yet to respond to Gabbana’s diss, 13 Reasons Why actor Tommy Dorfman stood up for the show’s executive producer. “@stefanobabbana you’re tired and over. your homophobic, misogynistic, body-shaming existence will not thrive in 2018,” wrote Dorfman, who plays Ryan Shaver in the Netflix drama. “it is no longer tolerable or chic. please take many seats.”
The former Disney star’s loyal following also slammed Gabbana. “Shame on you for online bullying. Doesn’t matter if 1 million people see it or 1 person, it’s bullying. It’s wrong,” one Gomez devotee replied. Added another: “We love this beautiful queen.”
This is not the first time Gabbana has gone after a celebrity on The Catwalk Italia page. On Friday, June 8, the designer slammed Kate Moss’ Saint Laurent LBD, simply writing, “No.”
Gabanna and his business parter, Domenico Dolce, who are both openly gay, have also made controversial statements about LGBTQ families. “We oppose gay adoptions,” Dolce, 59, told Panorama magazine in March 2015. “The only family is the traditional one … No chemical offsprings and rented uterus; Life has a natural flow, there are thins that should not be changed.”
Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski recently disassociated from the brand after his social media followers updated him on the situation. The chef, who once supported the line with costar Tan France, wrote in via an Instagram statement in May that he has since distanced himself from it.
“With public collaborations come social responsibility,” he noted at the time. “Thank you for bringing my attention that larger conversations and rigorous vetting need to take place before aligning myself with certain brands.”
Tamar Braxton and Vincent Herbert Fuel Rumors of a Reunion After Being Spotted Grocery Shopping
Despite the couple’s ongoing divorce, Tamar Braxton and Vincent Herbert have been spotted out together doing one of the most standard activities for married couples.
Herbert and Braxton, who filed for divorce in 2017, were snapped grocery shopping in Calabasas, Calif., on Monday, June 11. The photos come a week after the duo went with Braxton’s mom and sisters to Walt Disney World to celebrate son Logan’s fifth birthday.
And it’s not the first time Herbert, who looks noticeably slimmer since undergoing weight loss surgery last year, has been seen with his wife after the divorce filing. In January, the spouses were seen on video with Logan, whom they’ve been co-parenting since the filing.
Since the news of their divorce, however, fans have speculated it was a publicity stunt for their We TV series, “Tamar and Vince.” So upon seeing these new pics, questions about the state of their union resumed.

Braxton allegedly left Herbert because he cheated and supposedly impregnated his mistress. However, she clarified that wasn’t the reason she left her music exec hubby.
“I filed for divorce because we work together, he’s my baby’s father, we’re together each and every single day, we’re attached at the hip. And it just got to be too much,” Braxton says.

It’s all Gucci! We have a style showdown between Queen Bey and Remy Ma. Both ladies recently hit the stage rocking Gucci’s $1,790 ‘GG Canvas’ over-the-knee boots. While they both wore cut off shorts with their boots, both of them certainly added their own flair.
Beyoncé kicked off her OTRII tour wearing the boots with a crystal mask and Coal N Terry shorts while she draped a body chain over her ensemble. She completed her look with a Dapper Dan x Gucci exclusive jacket. The GG logo in the jacket complemented the boots and was just enough to not appear as overkill. The Bey hive stained over this look on opening night!
Remy performed at Hot 97’s Summer Jam over the weekend wearing her boots. She teamed them with a GG logo long sleeve top covered by a graphic tee, denim shorts, a GG logo fanny pack by the brand and a bejeweled rainbow headband. New York attorney general sues Trump Foundation, alleging vast illegal activity
New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood sued President Donald Trump and his charitable foundation on Thursday, alleging that the president and his adult children illegally used the private foundation for personal, business, and political expenses.
The lawsuit alleges illegal activity that took place over more than a decade, including "extensive unlawful political coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing transactions to benefit Mr. Trump’s personal and business interests, and violations of basic legal obligations for non-profit foundations," according to a statement from the attorney general's office.
The suit accuses the president, along with Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump Jr., of violating multiple counts of state and federal law. Foundation funds were used to pay off Trump family legal obligations, promote Trump businesses, purchase personal items, and influence the president's 2016 campaign, the suit said.
Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr. were members of the foundation's board, but failed to ensure the proper handling of charitable funds, the suit alleges. In fact, the board had not met since 1999.
Trump responded on Twitter, vowing not to settle.

"This is politics at its very worst. The Foundation has donated over $19 million to worthy charitable causes — more than it even received. The President himself – or through his companies — has contributed more than $8 million. The reason the Foundation was able to donate more than it took in is because it had little to no expenses. This is unheard of for a charitable foundation," a spokesman for the Foundation said.
According to the suit, campaign staff repeatedly directed the foundation's disbursement of funds and used the donations to boost the campaign, particularly with an Iowa fundraiser the president threw in lieu of attending a presidential debate in early 2016. Enlarged foundation checks were displayed at campaign events.
In one instance, the petition cites an email sent by Trump's then-campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, telling the foundation to cut a $100,000 check to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation after a media inquiry about Trump's charitable donations. A check was sent to the group the same day.
"As our investigation reveals, the Trump Foundation was little more than a checkbook for payments from Mr. Trump or his businesses to nonprofits, regardless of their purpose or legality," Underwood said in a statement. "This is not how private foundations should function and my office intends to hold the Foundation and its directors accountable for its misuse of charitable assets."
The attorney general is seeking to dissolve the foundation under court supervision and obtain restitution of $2.8 million, plus additional penalties. It would also ban the president from serving as a director on a New York nonprofit for a decade, and ban Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr. from doing the same for a year.
The attorney general has sent letters identifying potential violations to the Federal Elections Commission and the Internal Revenue Service, as well.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ renewed for season 11
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” and its aftershow “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked” have been renewed by VH1 for another season.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” will return for the 11th season following its most successful season in the show’s history. Deadline reports the 10th season pulled in 794,000 viewers 18-49 and 1.2 million total viewers in Live+7.
The reality show competition has also received 10 Emmy nominations and secured four Emmy wins. RuPaul has won outstanding reality host in 2016 and 2017.
The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 10 finale airs on Thursday, June 28.
David Spade Donates $100K To Mental Health Organization Following Kate Spade’s Suicide
David Spade honored his late sister-in-law, Kate Spade, with a $100,000 donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
The fashion designer, who was married to David’s brother, Andy Spade, died by suicide on June 5.
In a statement to People, the actor and comedian said:
More people suffer from mental health issues than we may realize but no one should ever feel ashamed to reach out for support.
