After five years of being “the fixer” on the Shonda Rhimes-created drama series, Kerry is delving into other projects. She talks politics, beauty, and people expecting her to “fix” things in real life.
On people thinking she’s a fixer in real life: “It happens All. The. Time. I mean, part of it is because they know I can connect them to Judy Smith, [the crisis manager] who the role is based on. But people call me to say, ‘I have this problem. Can I talk to you about it?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t even want to know! Just skip over me!’ But I know secrets.”
On how she handles this political landscape: “I have to dip in and dip out because it suffocates me. Like, I become unable to function. So it’s a tricky balance between staying aware and also staying connected to a sense of hope and productivity and showing up for life.”
On her beauty indulgence: “Massages. I love them because they fall in that in-between for me: half beauty, half wellness. It’s something I do because I’m in heels a lot and I work really long hours. And I have a lot of pressures in my life. So massages are a good way for me to maintain my health and wellness, but also I feel like I’m doing something indulgent. And I’m a deep-tissue girl. I ask for the strongest massage therapist. Unravel me. Get in there.”
On her current project: “I’m working now on 24/7, this comedy about three women in the workplace, and Eva Longoria and I are two out of the three”

#RHoA: Kandi Burruss Looks Like An Angel In New Photos From ‘RHOA’ Shoot While Ignoring Nene Leakes Tour Drama
Kandi Burruss is not addressing the madness surrounding her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Nene Leakes, and The Great Xscape Tour.
Todd Tucker’s wife shared a few pictures taken on the set of RHOA where she looks like an angel.
The photos were taken as Burruss was filming a scene for the hit Bravo show.
The singer-songwriter had a beautiful curly hairdo, an off-the-shoulder top that showed lots of cleavage, and several pieces of intricate jewelry.
However, what really got her supporters’ attention was her makeup — the diva looked gorgeous thanks to a deep blue glittery eyeliner.
Ace’s mother captioned the photos: “Caught in the act doing my selfie! @sewjodie @erika_lapearl_mua & @hauseofglam had me feeling myself today. ”
There are were many positive comments geared towards the television personality about her look.
A commenter shared with the record producer and businesswoman: “That’s a beautiful pic, looks almost not like you, but it does at the same time.”
Another one said Burruss was a real-life Barbie in the selfies and added: “Looking like a doll!Gorgeous with extra Extra twinkles in your eyes! Love the hair yasssss come on today….Now that’s my favorite look on you @kandi looking like an angel.This is a beautiful picture of you!”
A third person could not help bring up the feud with Leakes by writing: “The first chance you get to cross @neneleakes its a shame that black women cant stick together, we always have to tear each other down smh shame on you @kandi.”
Last week, the R&B group known as Xscape fired Leakes who was supposed to host their tour.
Leakes was axed after she made a controversial rape comment. The source said Leakes is angry with Burruss for not having her back.
A friend claimed: “NeNe is good at dealing it out, but she’s not good at taking it. Right now NeNe feels she’s coming under fire from all angles, and that everyone is ganging up on her. She’s been under immense stress recently, what with Gregg’s health issues, and Kim’s ongoing poison, and she would love to feel like she had at least one person fighting her corner.”
The person added: “NeNe thinks Kandi and Tiny overreacted by firing her, and that they’re just trying to get some publicity at her expense. But that’s the thing with NeNe, she constantly feels that she’s the victim, and she never really takes full responsibility for her actions.”
Burruss seems unbothered by Leakes feeling and anger.

In the end, reality kicked in, and the two continued to flirt before taking a shot together.

#HIPHOPNEWS: Dipset Reuniting For Spotify RapCaviar Live Concert
Cam’ron’s epic response to Jim Jones’ comments on Funkmaster Flex seemed like — for all intents and purposes — the nail in the Dipset reunion coffin. It appears the group’s demise was overstated though.
Spotify has confirmed the iconic Harlem quartet of Cam’Ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey will reunite at the fourth show of the six-city RapCaviar Live tour. The concert goes down at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Tuesday, November 21.
There have been many false starts and promises of a Dipset reunion since Cam and Jones’ relationship began to degrade (at least publicly) over a decade ago. The first plausible sign of a reunion happened back in 2010 when the two squashed the original iteration of their beef. The resulting song, “Salute,” had fans fiending for an inevitable reunion that failed to materialize fully.
The foursome joined Funkmaster Flex in 2015 — again with reunion talks. But, by early 2016, Cam and Jones were back at it and haven’t been in positive place since.
Despite what has appeared to be a bitter back and forth, Cam and Jones have often maintained that they’re brothers and wish each other the best. They’re also both clearly about their business. Whether this reunion is a sign that the water is truly under the bridge or simply a sign that Spotify made them a deal they couldn’t refuse, fans will have the opportunity to relive Dipset mania — if only for one night.

Toni Braxton and Birdman are not married, contrary to reports saying otherwise.
A rep for the 50-year-old “Un-Break My Heart” singer denied the claims in a statement to Us Weekly. “Toni is dating,” Braxton’s spokesperson said, adding that the seven-time Grammy winner “has a new single called ‘Deadwood’ from her forthcoming album Sex & Cigarettes. It will be released in early 2018.
Frank Ocean Beats Dad’s $14 Million Lawsuit Libel Suit
Frank Ocean has scored a massive legal victory against his estranged father, Calvin Cooksey. According to court documents obtained by our friends at theJasmineBRAND.com, on Tuesday (October 17th), the Grammy Award-winning artist beat Cooksey’s $14.5 million libel suit. In short, a California federal judge ruled that his father failed to show that his son defamed him with a 2016 Tumblr post that recounted him calling a transgender waitress an anti-gay slur.
U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson said that while the court doesn’t have to rule whether the statement was truthful, Cooksey still had failed to meet necessary elements to make his defamation claim.
Here’s the backstory: Earlier this year, Ocean was sued by his estranged father, Calvin Cooksey, accusing him of ruining his good name. Cooksey explained his son published a Tumblr post following the Orlando nightclub massacre, accusing his father of using a slur towards another person when he was just a kid. Ocean wrote,
I was 6 years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a f****t as he dragged me out of a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn’t be served because she was dirty.
Frank’s dad claimed the singer defamed him and ruined his reputation, with people now believing he is a bigot, a claim he denies. He says the story recounted was fabricated. He sued for $14.5 million in damages.
‘Roseanne’ Revival ABC Shares First Photo Of Cast At Table Read
The first photos of the upcoming Roseanne revival have hit the internet and there are some familiar and new faces — and all of them seem to be laughing and having a good time.
The photos of the familiar set from the original series, which were posted on the official Roseanne Twitter account, features original cast members Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman, Sarah Gilbert, and Becky No. 1 and 2 Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke — although Chalke will be appearing in the revival in a new role. Also included in the pic are newcomers Ames Mcnamara and Jayden Rey as well as director John Pasquin, EPs Bruce Helford, Whitney Cummings, Tony Hernandez and Co-Executive Producer Sid Youngers. Noticebly absent from the pic is Johnny Galecki, who plays David in the original series.
October 18 marks the 29th anniversary of the show. ABC’s eight-episode reboot is set to premiere in 2018.

NEW YORK -- There were the 52 regular-season home runs. There was the Home Run Derby. And there was possibly an MVP season as a rookie. But if you are going to be the new face of baseball, a potential legend, it really happens in the cool air of October.
For everything the 6-foot-7, nearly 300-pound rookie Aaron Judge has accomplished in 2017, none of his performances were bigger or better than in Game 4 of the ALCS on Tuesday, when he and the New York Yankees took some more punches, absorbing the blows before knocking down their opponent, the Houston Astros. It was Judge who led them as the Yankees tied the ALCS with a come-from-behind 6-4 win over the Astros.

Down four runs in the seventh, Judge first hit a solo homer to start things off. In the eighth, with two more runs already in, he smoked the tying double -- just missing another homer -- off Houston closer Ken Giles. Yankee Stadium was rocking like it was 1996.
Judge's fellow Baby Bomber, Gary Sanchez, finished off Giles and the Astros with a go-ahead two-run double. Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman took care of the ninth, and this game was put into Yankees history books right next to all of their best postseason tales.
The American League Championship Series is a totally, spanking new series as it is now deadlocked at two games apiece. The Yankees have guaranteed that they are sending this one back to Houston for, at least, a Game 6 on Friday and possibly a tantalizing Game 7 on Saturday.
On Wednesday afternoon, in what could be the most crucial game of the series, the Yankees will face their nemesis in Dallas Keuchel, and will have Masahiro Tanaka on the mound.
The Yankees' bats could not touch Houston starter Lance McCullers Jr. for six innings in Game 3. After the long break between the top of the seventh inning and the bottom for the Yankee Stadium staple of "God Bless America," Judge sent a mammoth homer over the monuments in center field. That was it for McCullers.
The Bronx crowd, which has been noticeably louder this postseason, was again creating an intimidating atmosphere. With a sellout crowd on its feet, the noise put added weight on the Astros. Their manager, A.J. Hinch, brought in right-hander Chris Devenski. The 26-year-old Devenski, who was an All-Star this season, faced only three batters, and wasn't particularly effective against any of them.
Didi Gregorius smacked a triple and scored after Sanchez lined a sacrifice fly to right, cutting Houston's lead in half.
The Yankees would go on to complete the comeback, once again showing why they are a tough out, especially at home, where they had the American League's best record.
They still have a tough task looming, as Keuchel has posted 13 scoreless innings this postseason. After him, in Houston, the Astros will have Justin Verlander in Game 6.
But this Yankees group is beginning to look like something special. They don't start playing in each series until they are down. In the wild-card game, the Twins held a 3-0 lead before the Yankees came to bat. The Yankees won. Against the Indians, they were in an 0-2 hole in the series. The Yankees won.
Now, they have come back to tie the ALCS at two games apiece. At this point, would anyone dare count out these Yankees?
