Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins to Star in New NBC Family Sitcom
Deadline reports that NBC has just ordered a new family sitcom starring comedians Marlon Wayans and Essence Atkins. The series, aptly titled 'Marlon,' is said to be loosely based off of Wayans’ own life.
The plot of the show revolves around divorced parents, played by Wayans and Atkins, who are trying to navigate the complicated world of co-parenting. While the mother has it together, the father’s parenting skills are a bit subpar to say the least. Perhaps because he’s the biggest kid of all.
Keep an eye out for 'Marlon' when it premieres later this year. Will you be tuning in?

#EMPIRE: Ex-Chicago Bears make cameos on 'Empire' finale
Nathan Palmer has lived one dream as an NFL wide receiver, but he'll get to live out another one on the hit drama "Empire" on Wednesday.
Palmer and defensive tackle Bruce Gaston, both of whom were waived by the Bears on Monday, and Giants tight end and Naperville native Matt LaCosse, shot scenes in March and were scheduled to make cameos during the show's Season 2 finale.
All three share an agent who helped them get on the show, which is shot in Chicago, but making an appearance on "Empire" probably means a little bit more to Palmer, who's trying to launch a side career as a singer and has produced several music videos.
"I have not missed an episode. Every Wednesday. It's a good show," Palmer said. "The music industry is something that has always intrigued me being a professional athlete, just to see a show do so well with so many great actors. It's definitely not something you want to pass up given the opportunity to be a part of it.
Palmer goes by the stage name NaPalm, and some of his R&B stylings reference a "player" of a different type, such as "Casanova" off his most recent album, "Life As A Bachelor." "III Letter" and "Ain't That Something" play on love-lost themes.
Scenes from several of Palmer's videos were shot in Chicago.
"That experience alone is time consuming and takes a lot of planning, so to be able to sit there (and 'Empire's' set) and see all things that they did for that TV show was definitely something that was a proud moment in my life," he said.
All three players marveled at how the cast spent long hours each day shooting and doing re-shoots.
Gaston recalled spending 13 hours on set. "it was a fun experience but at the same time you took note of how much work you see people put into what they do," he said. "It's like any other job, it's hard too."
Palmer agreed. "I got there between 6 and 6:30 in morning, and I didn't leave until 10:40, 11 at night. and they were still shooting. And then they had an early morning call," he said.
Like Palmer, Gaston appears on the show as himself. But the players were sworn to secrecy about their scenes, so as not to spill any spoilers. LaCosse was allowed to reveal his role: a bodyguard. He just couldn't say whose body he was guarding because it might tip off a significant plot twist.
"I was supposed to be a cameo, just like (Palmer and Gaston), but apparently a producer or director saw me and thought would I be good for the part because of how big i am," said LaCosse, who's listed on Giants.com as 6-foot-5 and 261 pounds. "It was pretty lucky."
Palmer was happy too see LaCosse get a bigger role. He was satisfied just to meet actors such as Taraji P. Henson (Cookie Lyon), Terence Howard (Lucious) and Bryshere Gray (Hakeem).
Palmer admired "how she's herself on and off camera and people love her for that. That's definitely a person that I cherished talking to on set."
He also praised Howard's work ethic. "I was able to watch him and how he took control of scenes. He was like a third director out there, knowing the ins and outs of that show," Palmer said. "I kind of compare him to the quarterback. He's basically the quarterback of the show."

Just weeks after premiering his new single “Definition of a Woman”, Dave Hollister returns with a visual for the song. The new love anthem is the first single from Hollister’s upcoming album “The MANuscript”. The project will release via Shanachie Entertainment through a partnership with Hollister Music Group, TopNotch Music, and Conjunction Entertainment.
The new project is set to be an exploration of the nature of men and women and relationships and how they impact the contemporary landscape. “The MANuscript” will release on August 26th, 2016 and feature production from Walter Millsap and a guest appearance from Angie Stone.

Hip Hop News: The Game Shuts Down G-Unit Reunion Rumors
The Game and 50 Cent won’t be staging a G-Unit reunion anytime soon.
During an interview on the set of his “Roped Off” music video, the Compton rapper squashed rumors of a reconciliation with his former crew.
“I don’t know where that came from, man, but I can’t see that happening no time in the near future,” Game told HipHopDX. “You know [50’s] doing his thing, I’m doing my thing. [Lloyd] Banks, [Young] Buck, [Tony] Yayo, they all doing their thing.”
Still, Game says that doesn’t mean that there’s any bad blood amongst the rappers. “Positivity is all love these days,” he added. “2016, we’re trying to keep everybody alive out here.”
The rumors were partly sparked last week when images of The Game and 50 Cent were tagged at the same location on Instagram. Later, it was revealed that they were at the same place at different times. In February, Game also fueled those talks when he posed for a photo with Banks, a move that made 50 Cent lash out.
Elsewhere in the new interview, Game said that “Roped Off” is set to appear in a forthcoming A&E documentary inspired by Compton.

OOOPS! Juelz Santana Loses Home to Foreclosure
This must be “Foreclosure Month” for celebrities. First, we reported Lil’ Kim was on the verge of losing her $3 million home, and now, we just found out Juelz Santana has lost his New Jersey home to foreclosure too!
The Dipset rapper is $700K in the hole after failing to make payments for almost 3 years on his 2,300-square-feet condo in the same housing development the Notorious B.I.G. lived in.
The foreclosure judgement was made against the rapper on April 22, almost 11 years after he financed the home.
According to court docs, the condo was listed for $540K, and Juelz (real name LaRon James) took out a $486,000 mortgage in 2005. He stopped making the $3,754 mortgage payment beginning November 2013.
In total, the rapper now owes $688,219, plus $7,000 in lawyers’ fees.
Damn, that’s more than what the condo was worth!
Juelz has recently announced he’s returning to the rap game…and now we know why. Them bills ain’t gonna pay themselves!
Oh No? Is There Trouble in Paradise for Usher & Grace Raymond?
All was watching Usher Raymond‘s wife, Grace Raymond, getting him together at the premiere for his boxing film Hands of Stone during the prestigious Cannes international film festival on Monday.
Usher and Grace seemed tense as they walked the red carpet together. The couple wed in 2015 after dating for 6 years. Sources say Grace didn’t appreciate her husband — who plays boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the film — making googly eyes at his sexy co-star, actress Ana de Armas, 28.

Kerry Washington Takes Social Media Break; Pregnancy Pushes ‘Scandal’ to Midseason
*Kerry Washington’s pregnancy has rippled across both social media and TV’s upcoming fall season.
First, the actress announced Tuesday that she’s taking a “teeny break from social media. The “Scandal” star shared her decision in the caption of an Instagram video. “It’s time for me to take a teeny break from social media,” wrote Washington. “Feeling called to be a bit more quiet and still.”
Her words were accompanied by a clip of a heart drawn in the sand fading as the ocean tide rises.

Later Tuesday, ABC announced that “Scandal’s” season 6 premiere will be pushed from fall 2016 to midseason, due to her pregnancy.
The move will leave a hole in Shonda Rhimes’ TGIT lineup. According to Variety, “Grey’s Anatomy” keeps its Thursday 8 p.m. timeslot for Season 13, and Viola Davis’ “How To Get Away with Murder” keeps its 10 p.m. slot for Season 3. New drama “Notorious” will replace “Scandal” at 9 p.m.
ABC renewed Rhimes’ “The Catch” for Season 2 and picked up a new Shondaland show, “Still Star-Crossed.”
