Colorado Lesbian Couple Fears For Their
Safety After Hate Speech is Marked on their Home!
A Colorado-based lesbian couple fears for their safety
after allegedly becoming targets of a frightening hate crime.
As Colorado's KWGN is reporting, Aimee Whitchurch and
her partner of four years, Christel Conklin, found "Kill the Gay" scrawled in
red spray paint across the garage door of their Parker condominium last weekend.
A day later, a noose was found on their doorstep.
"You get words like 'homos' or
'you're going to burn in hell' and things of that nature, but 'kill the gay?' That's a
threat against our lives so it was overwhelming," Whitchurch explained. "The
noose is where it really became shocking and scary."

Whitchurch and Conklin also confessed to other
problems, such as complaints from neighbors who claim they do not pick up after
their dogs, with their homeowners association at the Parker condo complex --
many of which they believe may be motivated by homophobia. In addition, the
report also pointed out one neighbor who has allegedly filmed the couple from a
window. Although the association has covered over the hate message, the couple
believes the haphazard paint job is yet another example of the harassment they
have to live through in the neighborhood.
MY GOODNESS Why
folks just can’t people LIVE
AND LET LIVE!
This is getting more and more scary by the minute. I bet it's just one person, or persons that are unhappy with themselves. What my biggest concern would be is them firebombing the house or something of that nature. Just awhile back as lesbian couple had their house burned down to the ground while away, and the only part that survived was the side wall of the garage which had the word queers spray painted on it in bright flourescent orange. I myself fear for my life as well. I can't even take a walk without someone driving by and yelling fag out their window at me. People are so unhappy with themselves so they want to make others lives miserable. The hate has to stop.
