NBA Players to Owners….WE DECLARE WAR!

WELL LOOKS LIKE WE WON’T SEE AN NBA SEASON!
The NBA and the players’ union were unable to reach agreement on a collective bargaining agreement today and the union dissolved, meaning an anti-trust lawsuit is the next step.

“We’re prepared to file this antitrust action against the NBA,” Billy Hunter, now the executive director of the NBA players trade association, said of the labor dispute that began with a lockout of players July 1. “That’s the best situation where players can get their due process.”Players will not accept an offer that they regarded as an ultimatum from Commissioner David Stern, with Hunter calling it “extremely unfair.”
In an ESPN interview, Stern promised “guaranteed years of litigation” and said, “we’re about to go into the nuclear winter of the NBA.”

“Billy Hunter has decided to put the season in jeopardy and deprive his players of an enormous payday,” Stern said on ESPN.
Hunter made his comments at a press conference in New York that was attended by union president Derek Fisher as well as a group of players that included Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Rajon Rondo and Elton Brand. Fisher said the vote, by a show of hands of about 50 players present, was unanimous.
Surrounded by NBA players, Derek Fisher speaks to the media (Seth Wenig / AP) “This is the best decision for the players,” Fisher said. “I want to reiterate that point, that a lot of individual players have a lot of things personally at stake in terms of their careers and where they stand. And right now they feel it’s important — we all feel it’s important to all our players, not just the ones in this room, but our entire group — that we not only try to get a deal done for today but for the body of NBA players that will come into this league over the next decade and beyond.”

Stern had urged players to accept the current proposal that calls for a 50-50 division of basketball-related income and proposed a 72-game season beginning Dec. 15.

“We were very close,” Stern said, “and they decided to blow it up.”
As for whether more games and perhaps the season will soon be canceled, Stern said: “The calendar takes care of it by itself. We’re not going to start idle threats.”

Players, meanwhile, now begin losing paychecks. “The chances of the season slipping away from us,” Stern said, “and the players losing all that they’ve worked very hard to achieve...I think it’s a tragedy.”Saying he was “saddened,” and that he believes players are “badly misled” and “hellbent on self-destruction,” Stern was asked again about the season.

“Our fans are very smart. They can look at the calendar. We need a deal 30 days before we start. And now there’s no one to negotiate with.”

JUROR IN CONRAD MURRAY TRIAL BREAKS SILENCE

There were contentious moments, including yelling and cajoling, during two days of deliberations before reaching the guilty verdict in the trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor, a juror said an interview broadcast on Wednesday. Debbie Franklin, a 48-year-old mother of two from Temple City, Calif., broke her silence on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and described the nine hours of excruciating deliberations that led to Dr. Conrad Murray’s involuntary manslaughter conviction Monday. She said the panel of seven men and five women did not immediately agree Friday, their first day hashing out the evidence.

“We took a vote and it was not unanimous, so we said let’s think about it over the weekend and talk about it on Monday,” she told GMA. “It was stressful. It was a lot of work. Yelling, everybody was talking.” She said it was Dr. Murray’s actions, that tipped the balance. “The three biggest things for us were: him not calling 911 right away, that was a big issue; not having the medical equipment in the room to put somebody under sedation; and leaving the room,” Debbie Franklin said.
Debbie said prosecutors were smart to set the bar low with a single count of involuntary manslaughter and not try for second-degree murder. “We absolutely agree that he did not mean to do this,” she told GMA. “We don’t think he even had a motive to do this. We think it was something that he was doing that was careless that got out of hand.”

Dr. Conrad Murray was placed on suicide watch at the L.A. County Jail on Monday, hours after he was convicted. He will be assigned a single cell for his own protection — and he’ll also be assigned an escort to keep an eye on the doctor wherever he goes inside the jail, including shower time. Dr. Murray will not be allowed to mingle with the general inmate population — which could be a blessing and a curse for him — he will surely feel safer, but also incredibly lonely at the same time.

In the creepy-news-of-the-day files the ‘King of Pop’s’ death bed is going to go up for auction, along with other items from the icons home located at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the posh Los Angeles neighborhood of Holmbly Hills. Celebrity auction company, Julian’s Auctions, will be handling the sale of the items on December 17th, but the public will be able to view them December 12th. Check inside for photos of the bed and the outside of the home.
Michael Jackson’s death bed is located in what was referred to as the “medication room” during Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial because it was not his personal bedroom. Other items from the room that will go on the auction block are upholstered chairs that have smudges of Jackson make-up.

Michael Jackson and his three children lived in the three-story home, which resembles a French chateau, from December 2008 until his untimely death on June 25, 2009. The house is also up for sale but by a separate company.

She is enjoying a happy marriage to Nick Cannon and has been relishing family life since the arrival of her beautiful twins.
But while Mariah Carey has been gushing about her own happily married life she has slammed others and said: 'I'm not going to put on a fake face.'
However her words were intended, there seemed little doubt that Mariah's comments in New york were directed at the troubled reality star Kim Kardashian. 'Sometimes we make each other mad, that's why we aren't divorced after four months,' she said of her own marriage to America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon.

The crowd audibly gasped after the remark. Looking coy after her comments, the Grammy award-winning singer quipped, 'I'm sorry, I'm just saying.'

Kardashian married NBA player Kris Humphries in a lavish televised ceremony in Montecito, California in August this year after dating him for 6 months.
The footage aired last month in a two part wedding special, before Kim's announcement just over a week ago that she was filing for divorce after just 72 days of marriage.
The reasons for the break-down of the relationship are still under wraps as all the details of the marriage and divorce have been carefully managed by E! TV bosses.
While Mariah has been speaking out about her marital bliss she was also seen showing off her fabulous figure.

The singer has shed over 70lbs since 'dem babies' arrival six months ago and she has been quick to show off the results.
Carey and Cannon on the other hand have married three times so far. 'We get married every year! That's our thing,' Cannon explained. He added that his superstar wife gets a new diamond ring each time as well.
The pair renewed their wedding vows at their Beverly Hills home for their second wedding anniversary and Carey gave birth to their twin babies Moroccan and Monroe on their third anniversary.
The couple renewed their vows in hospital with Nick Cannon revealing on Twitter that the famous Reverend Al Sharpton performed the ceremony.
'I have to do it every single year' Cannon said. 'If you were married to Mariah Carey, you'd want to marry her every year too! I just have to keep doing it to make sure it's real.'. The couple first tied the knot after just six weeks of dating in 2008 on Carey's private island in the Bahamas. 

This is not Mariah's first marriage however. She married Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, 20 years her senior, in an Episcopalian ceremony followed by a lavish wedding reception in Manhattan in 1993.
She has said of the relationship: 'I was treated almost like a prisoner. Everybody around me was deathly afraid of him. I became so scared. I was like an obsession and a possession.'
Mariah, 41, stayed in the marriage for five years, but declared she often fantasised about being kidnapped so she could get out of their relationship.
Although she had often projected the image of a happy marriage to the public, in reality, Mariah later revealed, she had felt emotionally and psychologically abused by Tommy.

As for Kim's relationship woes, this month E! viewers will get to see the reality star's marriage to Kris Humphries fall apart in front of the cameras.
TV bosses have released a new teaser for the upcoming spin-off reality show Kourtney & Kim Take New York.

The trailer opens with dramatic voice over proclaiming: 'Not every fairytale has a happy ending'. The footage shows Kim - looking tearful at one point - and Kris coming to blows - confirming the honeymoon period didn't last long.
The season premiere will air in little over two weeks - and no doubt the 30-second trailer will whet the appetite of Kardashian fans.
Ironically, Kim's next project is a movie called The Marriage Counsellor, in which she will play a cameo role.

Braxton Family Values NYC Premiere

The Braxton sisters are still making their rounds to promote the second season of Braxton Family Values. This time the sisters made a stop in NYC at Tribeca Grand. In addition to hosting yet another screening, the ladies stopped by Time Inc. for a question and answer session. Check out more hot pics inside.

VH1's "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle" To Premiere On December 5th

T.I. and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle will have their own VH1 reality show.
Following his release from prison, T.I. has been filming a reality show focused on his family with the intention to give viewers an inside look at his professional and personal life.

Today, VH1 has announced that "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle" will debut on December 5th at 9 p.m. EST. The show "follows the 'King of the South' at his most vulnerable, as T.I. re-acclimates back into his life as a father, husband, son, musician, apparel magnate, businessman, actor and best-selling author (Power & Beauty)."
“Tameka and I have a strong, loving family," said T.I. "In this family documentary, you will see the challenges of raising children while balancing a career. It’s like a lot of families, only our home is in the spotlight.”

Despite Twitter Rumors, Ruby Dee is Still Alive

*Twitter lit up last week with false reports that legendary entertainer Ruby Dee, had died
Jeffrey Leavitt, representative for the 87-year-old stage and screen star, corrected the false reports on Wednesday.
Dee’s rumored death apparently resulted from confusion between her name and that of Heavy D, the popular rapper who died in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Tuesday at age 44.
The mix-up was then compounded when Rev. Jesse Jackson tweeted that Ruby Dee had died, and she became a trending topic on the social network.
Shortly afterward, Jackson corrected his post. “The news of the passing of Ruby Dee HAS NOT BEEN confirmed,” he tweeted, and urged his followers to pass the word.

I always felt that no matter where my career goes, I just want people to leave the room and say 'hey, he was a nice guy.

On his future personal plans
The aspiration is marriage and kids...building a family and leaving a legacy...As I'm entering into my 30′s, I'm looking forward to all those things

2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: A Complete Look

Having taken a full year to plan, an army of Victoria's Secret Angels put on one dazzling display during the taping of the Fashion Show in New York City.

Setting up for one seriously sexy scene, a bevy of the brand's beauties made their head-turning walk down the runway this evening including Lily Aldridge, Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Chanel Iman, Behati Prinsloo and Lindsey Ellingson.
With more than 38 models in total, the $12 million production featured six different themes, ranging from Ballet, Super Angels, Passion Play, Angels Aquatic, I Put a Spell on You, and Club Pink.
Highlighting the annual event was a duo of long-time Angel favorites - one being Miranda Kerr, who strutted the stage in a stunning $2.5 million 142 carat Fantasy Treasure Bra, with the other being Brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio, who donned a 30-pound pair of whimsical gold-plated wings.

Pitbull takes Ms. Lohan to task...by taking her to court.
Pitbull has responded to troubled actress Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit with one of his own.

Lohan sued Pitbull and Ne-Yo over the duo's smash hit "Give Me Everything," which contains the line "I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan." In August, Pitbull denied that the line was meant in a negative way.
Now, Pitbull has taken it one step further, filing a countersuit against Lohan.

NYMag.com reports that the Miami rapper claims that Lohan's multiple prison sentences lend credence to the line, and that she was ineligible to file the suit in New York, as she is demonstrably a resident of California.

Jennifer Hudson Takes Son David Jr. Out for a Stroll in New York City

Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson was spotted yesterday (Tue. Nov 8) as she took her 2-year-old son David Otunga Jr. for a quick stroll down New York City’s Fifth Avenue while she listened to her iPod on and off.

Hudson’s reps recently confirmed that her engagement to David Jr.’s dad is still on, despite recent reports of a break-up.
During a Fashion’s Night Out event in Japan for Tokyo Fashion Week over the weekend, the Oscar and Grammy winner flashed her huge diamond ring to prove that she and her fiance are still together.

Anna Maria Horsford Says Blacks Should Not Fear Therapy

She plays zany Helen Wilson, the outspoken receptionist who works for a psychotherapist (played by Tracee Ellis Ross) in BET’s “Reed Between the Lines,” but Anna Maria Horsford recently told Sister to Sister magazine that the show is doing the Black community a huge public service–by addressing the issue of psychotherapy.

The actress said that it takes a little more than sitting in church on Sunday to help some of our brothers and sisters relax, relate and release.
Sometimes it takes a good couch session to cope with your problem. Talking it out with a professional, however, is largely frowned upon by many African Americans, and it’s a trend that Anna Maria is only too happy to address.

“The thing that excites me about this show is dealing—and hopefully we will be effective—dealing with the idea of therapy as an alternative for health problems. A lot of times in our culture, we think therapy is a bad word.”

Horsford said she is enjoying her role on the hit BET series, which also stars Malcolm Jamal Warner and Melissa De Sousa. She said the role of the outspoken receptionist allows her to explore her more eccentric side.
“It’s almost like a woman who has no control over what goes on in her mind and what comes out of her mouth,” the actress said. “Kind of like me in a way. She says the first thing that comes (to mind).”

Two South Carolina women will spend the rest of their lives in prison for beating a toddler to death in 2009. Erika Mae Butts and Shanita Latrice Cunningham, both 25, each received a life sentence from a Charleston judge on Thursday, two years to the day after 3-year-old Serenity Richardson died while in their care. The courtroom became a setting for the bizarre scene when the two ladies collapsed, wailed uncontrollably and hyper-ventilated after hearing they would serve life for killing a three-year-old girl.

It was shame, Erica Mae Butts and Shanita Latrice Cunningham had to be picked off the floor by court officials and held in chairs as they were wheeled out of the room. The mother of Erica was physically thrown out by three staff members after shouting loudly at her daughter to, “Get up!” then screaming, “I can’t leave my baby like this, my baby is out!” Imagine how, that poor baby felt, when they were beating her to death. I don’t feel sorry for them at all.

“It is nearly impossible for words to accurately describe what these women did to that poor little girl,” said Elizabeth Gordon, assistant managing solicitor for Charleston County. “They beat her repeatedly both with a belt and with plastic coat hangers. You can see the outlines of the strikes on this child’s body. There is not one area of this child’s body that was unharmed except for the soles of her feet.” 3-year-old Serenity was visiting Erica Butts (her godmother and her mother’s best friend) and Shanita Cunningham( Erica’s lover), for two weeks at their home in Summerville, South Carolina when the abuse took place, Gordon said. Serenity’s mother, Leshia Richardson, lives in Detroit.

“The explanation they gave (for the beatings) was that Serenity had a potty accident,” Gordon said. “Their explanation is “we didn’t know what we did would kill her.’” When Serenity became unresponsive on November 3, 2009, “they put bleach under her nose and they put ice on her to try to revive her,” Gordon said. Erica called her own mother, who called 911. When medics arrived, the child had been dead for some time, Gordon said. She said that in four years of prosecuting crimes against special victims, this was the worst case she had seen.

“In most of the homicide-by-child-abuse cases, somebody made a bad decision one day. (Butts and Cunningham) made a decision every single day that they were going to beat that child.” An estimated 1,770 children died from abuse or neglect in 2009, according to the Child Welfare Information Gateway at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Most researchers believe the number of child abuse deaths is under-reported, according to the department. The most frequent victims are children ages 4 and younger.

Toni Braxton Reveals She's Dating White Men On "Anderson Cooper"

Toni Braxton is still flying solo with all her "Braxton Family Values" promo. She recently made an appearance on CNN anchor Anderson Cooper's new daytime talk show. And she revealed she's dipping into the snow for her dating life these days. And y'all know Anderson had some questions.

Toni says she's now open to interracial dating. And she's liking it so far.

ANDERSON: You also moved back to L.A. recently. How's that?
TONI: I love it. I have two kids, and my son is autistic so that's been the challenge to find the right school for him, but I'm single in L.A.

ANDERSON: It's touch city to be single in. So you're dating and stuff?
TONI: No. Sprinkles. Sprinkles of dating. I'm beginning to play in the snow a bit.

ANDERSON: Excuse me, what?
TONI: Play in the snow? You've never heard of that. It means he's Caucasian.

ANDERSON: And that's a change for you?
TONI: I've never played in the snow before.

ANDERSON: Really?
TONI: Yes, never.

ANDERSON: How is the snow?
TONI: Well, this is a lovely snow flake.

ANDERSON: Every snow flake is different.
TONI: Every one is different, so it's okay.

And the two also chatted about getting revenged on an ex. Toni, who has been going through a divorce for a while now with husband Keri Lewis, wouldn't reveal how she's personally done some dirt. But did reveal her friend's dirt.

ANDERSON: We just finished doing this stuff on cheating and revenge. Would you ever seek revenge on somebody who?

TONI: The girl in me, I remember in the past in my college years I was a little revengeful. But I wasn't a stalker though. But a little bit revengeful. But back then, the internet wasn't as popular.

ANDERSON: What did do you?

TONI: Oh, gosh, you want me to admit it.

ANDERSON: Yes, Sure, why not?

TONI: I don't want to be sued. I remember I didn't do it but a girlfriend of mine keyed this guy's car. She keyed it for me and I felt bad about it.

ANDERSON: For you? I like that you let her take the wrap for it.

TONI: Yeah, she really did that. She keyed it. But I told him I did it, and I told him i'd pay for it, actually my girlfriend did it. And he said, 'I want my money.' Then he later on said, 'Oh no, don't worry about it.'
