IN WTF? NEWS: Oklahoma TV anchor says her black co-anchor looks like a gorilla! 🐵😏😯

A TV anchor has apologized following a controversial remark. In a tearful segment that aired on Oklahoma City’s KOCO-TV, morning anchor Alex Housden apologized to her co-anchor Jason Hackett after comparing him to a gorilla during a broadcast Thursday.

The racist comment occurred after the pair reported on a story about a gorilla at the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Housden ended the segment with the comment: “Kind of looks like you,” directed at Hackett.

“He kind of does, actually, yeah,” Hackett hesitantly responded.

The following day, Hackett, who is African-American, accepted her apology and said he wanted to take the experience as a teachable moment to his viewers.

“The lesson here is that words matter,” he said sitting beside Housden. “We have to understand the stereotypes, we have to understand each other’s backgrounds and the words that hurt, the words that cut deep.”

Housden called the comment inconsiderate and inappropriate. She said she knows it was wrong and that she would never intentionally hurt her colleague.

“I hurt people. I want you to know I understand how much I hurt you out there and how much I hurt you,” she said tearfully turning to her co-anchor.

The clip of Housden's comment was shared on social media where users began firing criticisms at her through her Facebook page. Housden didn’t post the apology video on her Facebook page.

The TV station has now said that they have no additional comments. He's better than me!

On Madonna's IG page, she's apologizing for calling her 13-year-old son, Rocco, the N-word.  Here's her original post that shook up some ish the other day:

She deleted the post a little while later after some commenters DRAGGED her for it.  And she put this up instead:

And after telling people to "Get off her d*ck"...because people getting upset that Madonna is calling her son a "N*gga" is just all too shocking for her....she issued an apology:

“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur. I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention.  It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression.”

What gets me as I don’t like the word at all. Why no one gets upset at white and black rappers who use it on a daily basis?  And because she said this to her son folks is getting upset? Okay well tell Eminem, Machine Gun Kelly, and the rest of them go and open schools in Africa and help these unfortunate dark children. *crickets*

Exec Apologies for AIDS Tweet

Justine Sacco, a public relations executive who gained almost instant infamy — and unemployment — for an insensitive tweet about AIDS in Africa, issued an apology Sunday.

Sacco was in London on Friday, headed for a vacation in South Africa, when she tweeted “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!”

Sacco hopped aboard her flight, the tweet went viral and social media outrage was booming before she ever landed. The hashtag #HasJustineLandedYet even gained traction on Twitter, taking the top trending spot for hours.

“Words cannot express how sorry I am, and how necessary it is for me to apologize to the people of South Africa, who I have offended due to a needless and careless tweet,” Sacco said in her statement, first released to African news outlets. “There is an AIDS crisis taking place in this country, that we read about in America, but do not live with or face on a continuous basis. Unfortunately, it is terribly easy to be cavalier about an epidemic that one has never witnessed firsthand.

“For being insensitive to this crisis — which does not discriminate by race, gender or sexual orientation, but which terrifies us all uniformly — and to the millions of people living with the virus, I am ashamed.

“This is my father’s country, and I was born here. I cherish my ties to South Africa and my frequent visits, but I am in anguish knowing that my remarks have caused pain to so many people here; my family, friends and fellow South Africans. I am very sorry for the pain I caused.”

Sacco is feeling some of that pain. While she was in the air and out of touch, the social media mob was descending, mocking and condemning her. Shortly after her flight landed, the Twitter account was deleted. Later, Sacco’s Facebook account also was deleted.

The New York media conglomerate InterActiveCorp said Saturday it had “parted ways” Sacco, its PR director. IAC operates a string of websites including Match.com, Vimeo, Ask.com, UrbanSpoon, OKCupid and The Daily Beast.

“There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally. We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core,” the IAC statement said.

I’m so disappointed in this idiot! Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper, who many are looking at to replace injured Jeremy Maclin, was caught on camera yelling that he will fight “every [N-Word]” at a recent Kenny Chesney concert.

Michael Vick empathized when wide receiver Riley Cooper apologized to him during a 15-minute conversation Wednesday night, and then to teammates, for using a racial slur after a confrontation with an African-American security guard during a Kenny Chesney concert in June.

"What if your son or daughter made a mistake of this factor? How would you want people to perceive it? I've been there before,'' said Vick, who made the most of his second chance with the Eagles after serving a 21-month sentence for his role in a dog-fighting ring.

"Him being my brother, knowing him for so long, it's hard to defend him saying that. At the same, time, it happened. We talked about it man to man, one on one. We just know that we have to some way move on. It's a very delicate situation. But we all understand. Somehow we all have to find a way to get past it. That's maturity in itself.'' However Next on Vick's agenda is a man-to-man talk with his outspoken younger brother, Marcus, who put a Twitter bounty on Cooper, offering $1,000 to the "first Free Safety or Strong safety that light his (butt) up! Wake him up please."

Marcus Vick later deleted the tweet, but his brother was still upset with the meddling in a team issue.

"People on the outside world who don't know how we're dealing with it, they're going to voice their own opinion,'' Vick said. "But my brother has to not show a certain level of ignorance himself.

"I don't agree with what my brother is saying. Riley is still my teammate. And he just stood in front of us as a man and apologized for what he said. And somewhere deep down, you have to find some level of respect for that. Riley wished he never said it.''
