#BlackPanther Star-Studded Premiere Showcases The Black Excellence of Hollywood! ♚🌟🌟♛
Marvel’s “Black Panther” world premiere, held Monday night at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, was a celebration of black excellence, and a who’s who of artists in film and music who coordinated to wear colorful, African-themed fashion.
Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther” is the first Marvel film to feature a black superhero in a titular role, played by Chadwick Boseman, who was first introduced in “Captain America: Civil War.”
Coogler is best known as director of “Fruitvale Station” and “Creed,” which starred Michael B. Jordan, cast as villain Erik Killmonger, in “Black Panther.” Coogler also wrote the film with Joe Robert Cole.
The latest entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe picks up where that “Civil War” left off, following T’Challa — a.k.a. Black Panther — who, after the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, returns home to assume the throne. In short order, T’Challa is called on to protect the people and way of life of Wakanda, an isolated, technologically advanced African nation.
Angela Bassett, who plays T’Challa’s mother, Ramonda, was jubilant on Monday night, saying that the most special aspect of “Black Panther” was “just seeing all these beautiful, talented black people in one place, this black nation, coming together, technologically advanced, un-colonized with so much swag and brilliance.”
Women played indispensable roles in the film and in the fictional Wakanda, Bassett said. T’Challa, for instance, relies on the Dora Milaje, his royal security detail of fierce female warriors. “He can’t do it without them,” she said. “There is no king without a queen is the thought and sentiment in African nations. That queen is his mother, his sister, his all-female guard. Behind the scenes, it’s Ryan Coogler with his first (assistant director), his director of photography, his costumer designer, his production designer. They are kings because of the queens.”
The premiere featured a royal purple carpet under a tent on Hollywood Boulevard. Security was heavier than usual, but it had no impact on the celebratory mood of stars. Kendrick Lamar, who produced and curated the soundtrack, was on hand. Other attendees included Donald Glover; the cast of “Black-ish,” including Anthony Anderson and Yara Shahidi; Ava DuVernay; Don Cheadle; Laurence Fishburne; and Tessa Thompson.

#EMPIRE: TV Ratings: ‘Empire’ Rebounds From Series Low
“Empire” rose in the ratings on Fox, bouncing back from the new series low the show clocked last week.
According to Nielsen overnight data, “Empire” drew a 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers, up from the 1.7 and 5 million it drew last Wednesday. That is an improvement of approximately 6 percent in the key demo and 13 percent in total viewers.
After “Empire,” “Star” (1.2, 4 million) was even. On CBS, “Survivor” (1.8, 8.9 million) and “SEAL Team” (1.1, 6.8 million) were even. “Criminal Minds” (0.9, 5.3 million) was down in both measures, tying its series low.
On ABC, “The Goldbergs” (1.5, 5.4 million), “Speechless” (1.1, 4.3 million), and “Modern Family” (1.7, 5.8 million) were even. “American Housewife” (1.2, 4.6 million) was up in the demo. “Designated Survivor” (0.7, 3.9 million) was even.
For NBC, “A Very Pentatonix Christmas” drew a 0.8 and 4.9 million viewers. “Law & Order: SVU” (1.3, 6.2 million) dipped in both measures. “Chicago PD” (1.2, 6.5 million) was even.
For The CW, “Riverdale” (0.5, 1.5 million) and “Dynasty” (0.2, 0.69 million) were even.
Fox won the night in the demo with a 1.5 but finished third in total viewers with 4.9 million. CBS was second in the demo with a 1.3 but first in total viewers with 7 million. NBC and ABC tied for third in the demo with a 1.1. NBC was second in total viewers with 5.8 million. ABC was fourth in total viewers with 4.6 million. The CW averaged a 0.4 and 1.1 million viewers.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres with tribute to late Carrie Fisher
The galaxy far, far away was brought to life in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday for the world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi where the anticipated first screening was dedicated to the franchise’s late star, Carrie Fisher.
“I want to dedicate tonight to Carrie, who is up there right now flipping me the bird, saying ‘Damn it Rian, don’t you dare make this night a solemn tribute,” the film’s writer-director, Rian Johnson, said as he introduced the screening.
“So let’s all have a blast tonight for Carrie,” he added.
The film ends with a dedication to Fisher, who plays Princess Leia and died last December aged 60 after completing her work on The Last Jedi. Her character, now known as General Leia Organa, leader of the Resistance, plays a key role in the film.
Walt Disney’s The Last Jedi, follows 2015’s The Force Awakens and picks up with the Resistance fighting off Supreme Leader Snoke’s First Order, which is trying to take control of the galaxy.
The film explores themes of the battle to find a balance in the Force, the supernatural energy that runs through the Star Wars galaxy. Reviews of the film are embargoed until 12 December.
The cast, including Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis and Hamill, walked the red carpet at the premiere, surrounded by droids and stormtroopers. See some pics below.

Johnson paid tribute to Fisher on the red carpet. “Once the audience sees her performance in this movie, she’s going to be there in all our hearts,” he said. “It’s bizarre not having her here tonight. She would be the life of the party,” he said.

According to reports Steve Harvey's former business associate Vincent Dimmock claims he was hired by Steve Harvey to raise $20 million for the Steve and Marjorie Foundation and promised 12.5% commission on donations.
Now Vince is suing Steve claiming he never received any commission after reaching his goal and believes Steve never intended to pay him.
Vincent also claims he took Steve to meet with a financial adviser and that during the meeting Steve made disparaging remarks about women, said Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry gave him bad financial advice and blamed his ill-advised meeting with Donald Trump on Barack Obama.
Dimmock is seeking unspecified damages.
‘Mob Wives’ Reboot In The Works, Renee Graziano Is Doing Well After Rehab
A “Mob Wives” reboot is in the works!
The news comes almost two years after VH1 wrapped up the reality series starring Renee Graziano, Drita D’Avanzo, Karen Gravano, Carla Facciolo and the late Angela “Big Ang” Raiola.
Via Page Six: “I get incessant emails and DMs on social media and requests for more,” the show’s creator Jennifer Graziano told Page Six on Friday. “A lot of the fans love the original cast members and love ‘Mob Wives’ as a whole, and I think enough time has passed [since the death of show fixture Angela ‘Big Ang’ Raiola] and the demand is there [for a reboot].”
“It’s still gonna be focused on the East Coast,” the show’s star Renee Graziano‘s sister confirmed. “It’ll be in New York and the surrounding areas, not necessarily Staten Island. I’m always open to expanding to any city that makes sense with a good cast.”
Jennifer could not confirm if the show would return to its home on VH1 or who from the old cast would be returning.
In other “Mob Wives” news…Renee Graziano is doing well after entering treatment facility in Florida for depression earlier this year.

VH1’S ‘America’s Next Top Model’ To Premiere On Jan 9, 2018
VH1 announced today that the highly anticipated new season of “America’s Next Top Model” with Tyra Banks will premiere on Tuesday, January 9th at 8PM ET/PT. For the first time in franchise history, there will be no age limit as well as more contestant diversity than ever before.
This season includes guest appearances by former judge Nigel Barker and season three winner Eva Marcille, Director X, beauty and social media guru Patrick Starr, choreographer Jermaine Browne, supermodel Jourdan Dunn and Hip Hop artist Maejor among others; as well as a VH1 crossover with “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fan-favorites Valentina, Katya and Manila.
Supermodel and body activist Ashley Graham, Paper Magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliott and celebrity stylist and image architect Law Roach return as judges. Banks and Ken Mok will continue as executive producers.

Former NFL player Warren Moon Sued (AGAIN) For Sexual Harassment
Another day, another sexual assault accusation at the hands of a wealthy man who likely believed he could get away with it. One of Warren Moon's former female employees from his sports marketing firm has pulled the trigger on a lawsuit, accusing the former Vikings player of sexual harassment and sexual battery.
According to ESPN, the woman – named Wendy Haskell –claims Moon made "unwanted and unsolicited" sexual advances toward her while she was working for Sports 1 Marketing as Moon's assistant. The lawsuit, filed in Orange County, lists Moon as president and co-owner of the Irvine, California-based company.
She details several incidents where he was hella inappropriate. He allegedly drugged her, touched her genitals while she was sleeping and even removed her bathing suit without her permission. And there's plenty more.
ESPN reports:
The lawsuit alleges that soon after Haskell was hired in July 2017, Moon demanded that she "submit to a variety of unnerving sexual and perverse controlling arrangements, including sleeping in the same bed with him on all business trips, providing him unfettered access to the bathroom every time she showered, wearing skimpy lingerie while in the obligatory single room, obtaining prior approval for her wardrobe, and being subjected to continuous unwanted and unsolicited sexual advances."
According to the lawsuit, Moon drugged Haskell's drink without her consent during a business trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Haskell said she began feeling strange and asked Moon if he had put something in her drink, which he then admitted to doing, she said, telling her he did so because he thought she wasn't "having fun." On the same trip, according to the lawsuit, Moon pulled off Haskell's bathing suit while they were on the beach, despite her pleas with him to stop.
On another business trip to Seattle, she said, Moon grabbed her crotch while she was sleeping.
After rejecting another one of Moon's alleged sexual advances, Haskell said Moon wrote in an email to her the following day that if she wasn't comfortable with his demands, he would "find someone who doesn't have inhibitions about the job."
Wendy got fed up with his sexual advances, so she wrote an email to the company’s CEO, but they did nothing to address the matter. In fact, they demoted her and cut her pay.
Moon has denied the allegations, in a text sent to Seattle’s King 5 TV. He also has taken a leave of absence from his role on Seattle Seahawks radio broadcasts.
This isn’t the first time he’s been brought up on sexual harassment allegations. Back in 1994, a former Vikings cheerleader sued him after she said the then QB offered her money for sex. He also allegedy came to the bar she worked to make moves on her. Moon claims he didn’t do it, and they ending up settling the lawsuit out of court.
The following year, Moon was arrested after he was accused of slapping and choking his wife in his Texas home. His wife ended up having the charges dropped and they ended up getting a divorce.

“I wrote some of these songs while recording Beauty Behind the Madness,” he added. “It’s like a fictional book inspired by true events.”

On Ethiopia’s influence: “You hear it mostly in my voice. I’ve been told my singing isn’t conventional. Ethiopian music was the music I grew up on, artists like Tilahun Gessesse, Aster Aweke, and Mahmoud Ahmed. These are my subconscious inspirations. ‘The Hills’ was the first time you actually heard the Ethiopian language in my music. It will definitely be key on this next record.”
On fame: “Being anonymous had its perks, but it feels great to be recognized for all of the work we’ve put out.”
On Beyoncé’s “6 Inch”: “It feels great seeing the character of a powerful woman be sexy, yet take matters into her own hands and not feel so helpless.”
On Beauty Behind the Madness: “Even though I’ve been putting out bodies of work for years, Beauty Behind the Madness felt like the beginning. My purpose is to make exciting music, and I feel like I’ll be doing that for the rest of my life, so there’s no pressure. Nothing is stopping me from doing what I love to do.”
On Black Lives Matter: “I promised myself that I would never tweet or talk about politics and focus on the music, but I was just so bewildered that we lost more of our people to these senseless police shootings. It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that there are people who can’t or won’t see what Black Lives Matter is trying to accomplish. I wish I could make music about politics. I feel like it’s such an art and a talent that I admire tremendously, but when I step into the studio I step out of the real world, and it’s therapeutic. It’s an escape, but recently it’s been very hard to ignore, and it’s also been very distracting. Maybe you’ll hear it in my voice, but it is not my forté.”
#RHoA: NeNe Leakes Financial Troubles Worsen, Reality Star Tax Debt Rises to $900k
Lordt! reality star NeNe Leakes’ financial troubles continue to worsen. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star is now being accused of refusing to pay up on $86k in state taxes — this is after it was uncovered that the IRS is on the hunt for her assets due to a $830k unpaid tax bill.
The State of California filed a tax lien against NeNe – real name Linnethia Monique Leakes – on June 2nd. The official document states the RHOA star owes them a total of $86,624 in taxes, which was filed to begin the process of collecting on the debt. This could include the State of California seizing her assets and property to collect on their money.
One month later, the IRS filed a Federal Tax lien against NeNe in Georgia. It accused her of refusing to cough up on $830k she owed for 2014. The lien is active and has yet to be paid off despite the reality star
2014 was a big money-making year for the BRAVO star, where she appeared on the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars (where she placed 7th), announced the launch of The Nene Leakes Collection on HSN and in November of that year, she made her debut on Broadway in ‘Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella’.
The reality star made headlines earlier this year, when it was reported that she would not be appearing on the upcoming 9th season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
NeNe was an original cast member and starred on the reality show for 7 seasons. She was featured as a “friend” of the housewives last season but reportedly did not reach a deal with the network or producers to come back for Season 9.
Empire Season 3 Spoilers: Taraji P. Henson Confirms Cookie’s Death?
There will be one character who will die in Empire Season 3, which will premiere on Fox on Sept. 21. Taraji P. Henson, who plays Cookie Lyon, recently confirmed this.
During an interview with Extra on the Empire Season 3 set in Chicago, Henson was asked how everyone found about a character’s demise. She said, “They send us the script and then everybody’s calling each other like, ‘What? What? What?’ And then you have to wait till September 21.”
Henson did not reveal the character who will not make it alive to Empire Season 4. Dodging the question, she talked about Terrence Howard, who plays Lucious Lyon on the Fox musical drama series created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. Howard and wife Mira Pak recently gave birth to their second child Hero Howard. Their first child Qrin Love Howard was born on May 7, 2015.
Henson confirmed that her Empire co-star is doing great. She also commented that she does not know where he finds the energy that he has as he goes home every weekend to see his two sons.
New Music: Alicia Keys – ‘Back to Life’
Alicia Keys is taking no days off. In between her new role on “The Voice” and prepping her sixth album for release this fall, the R&B songstress unleashes “Back to Life,” a new song from Disney’s upcoming film Queen of Katwe.
Over inspirational strings, the “Girl on Fire” belts out a moving ode to resilience. “I’m just trying to hold onto a dream,” she sings. “Out here lost and nothing’s what it seems / I’m just trying to find where I belong / This must be the dark before the dawn.”
Queen of Katwe, the story of Ugandan chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi, stars David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o, and Madina Nalwanga, and arrives in theaters Sept. 23.

Channing Tatum Previews Magic Mike Live On Ellen
Ellen DeGeneres kicked off Season 14 of her long-running talk show with style. The 58-year-old host corralled Olympian Simone Biles, Oprah Winfrey and Channing Tatum for opening day. As if the latter wasn’t enough hotness to go around. Channing brought his sexy stable of boys along with him.
Tatum, along with the Magic Mike film franchise choreographer Alison Faulk, are bringing the hit film to Sin City. They will recreate the mythical Club Domina inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The show promises to feature “sexy and daring themed dance and strip routines punctuated by one of a kind acts from a wildly diverse cast of performers.”
If the actual show is half as sizzling as the preview on Ellen, consider my ticket to Las Vegas booked.

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have reportedly split after summer romance
Well, that was over Hiddleswiftly. Pop star Taylor Swift and her actor boyfriend Tom Hiddleston have called it quits after a three month romance, according to People. No word on if they're ever, ever getting back together.
The affectionately dubbed "Hiddleswift" seemed inseparable when they began dating in June but, in fact, everything has changed.
The split was reportedly "amicable." Public fascination with the couple may have contributed to the breakup, according to Us Weekly.
The couple's romance was initially confirmed after British tabloid The Sun published photographs of Swift, 26 and Hiddleston, 35, looking like a couple from a Nicholas Sparks film while walking along the beach on June 14 in Westerly, Rhode Island -- just two weeks after the singer and musician Calvin Harris parted ways.
Shortly after, Harris called out Swift on Twitter after she claimed she was the sole writer of his hit single, "This Is What You Came For."

"I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do," Harris wrote on Twitter, referring to Swift's relationship with Hiddleston.
Swift and Hiddleston outings over the summer were highly publicized. In June, Swift met Hiddleston's parents in the U.K. after Hiddleston met Swift's family in Nashville. The two took part in a big bash in Rhode Island in July where Hiddleston wore a much lambasted "I [heart] T.S." tank top.
Some critics of the couple questioned whether they were in it for the publicity.
"The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy," Hiddleston told The Hollywood Reporter in July. "That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."
Despite their steadfast position of authenticity, Swift and Hiddleston's breakup did not seem unexpected to many on social media Tuesday.
"Now there's the surprise of the century," tweeted Kia Makarechi, a story editor at Vanity Fair.
Others suggested titles for a possible new album Swift could write about the "Avengers" actor -- as the singer/song writer has been known to tap into her life experiences for lyrical inspiration.
"Taylor Swift announces forthcoming album, 'Thor Loser,'" tweeted Sam Adams, a writer for Slate.
