Usher Settles Lawsuit with Woman who Accused him of Giving her Herpes, He settles for $1 Million!
Some not so positive allegations about Usher’s personal life have gone viral. According to Radar Online, there are legal documents detailing how the singer had unprotected sex without disclosing he had an STD, allegedly. The site reports,
Court papers also showed the former coach on NBC’s hit The Voice — whose divorce from first wife Tameka Foster was finalized in 2009 — was “exposed to herpes” in 2009 or 2010. In a disgusting revelation, a “greenish discharge” once oozed from the performer’s penis, but otherwise he had no signs of the infection and was labeled an “asymptomatic carrier” by doctors. After initially admitting concern to his partner, Usher — who’s worth a cool $180 million — later convinced her that an STD examination result was negative, and they continued to engage in unprotected sex.
“Believing Raymond’s statements that it had been nothing and cleared up, [she] continued her relationship,” a lawyer for the victim wrote in a legal complaint for damages. Their romps went without a hitch until three weeks after a passionate hookup when the victim — whose identity is being withheld by Radar — woke up “feeling very sick” with a “fever of 100 degrees, chills, headache, and aches and pains.” She “also developed lesions and blisters in her vagina,” and was so terrified she sought treatment at urgent care, where a doctor promptly diagnosed her with herpes.
According to the document, the “Yeah!” singer — going by the pseudonym “Papa Bear” in messages — posted a check covering her medical bills totaling $2,754.40.
Usher — now married to Grace Miguel, former executive chef on The Cosby Show — is accused of “consciously and purposefully” withholding his herpes diagnosis from the woman “and continued to have unprotected sex.”
The legal complaint was filed at the Superior Court in Los Angeles. California law requires a person who knows or should know they are infected with genital herpes to avoid sexual contact with an uninfected person — or to warn potential partners before sexual contact occurs.
After being confronted by his partner for infecting her, Usher called her two days later with his doctor, who confirmed he carries the herpes virus.
Her test results confirmed a first-time infection and a file in the settlement reads: “In a series of telephone conversations and online chat sessions, [Usher] has apologized for infecting [her] and told her he would take care of things.”
In a declaration, the celebrity fashionista said she “feels that her health and body have been ruined,” and she “has suffered severe emotional distress and has been extremely depressed … knowing there is no cure.”
Reportedly, he eventually settled with his ex on Dec. 28, 2012, paying a total of $1.1 million.

'Empire' season 3 spoilers news: Jussie Smollett teases new love interest for Jamal; Becky to leave Empire?
The Lyons are back for "Empire" season 3 which airs Sept. 21 9 p.m. ET on Fox Network.
Jamal (Jussie Smollett) might be struggling to find his voice again after being tragically shot last season, but he will meet a dashing new love interest when hit Fox musical drama "Empire" season 2 returns later this month.
"Murder in the First" star Juan Antonio recently landed a role on the series as Phillip, Jamal's new boyfriend. He is a military vet running a PTSD counseling and support group where Jamal attends. "It's someone that for the first time, gives no f—s about his fame," Smollett hinted. "Could not care less and not in a disrespectful way. He just genuinely is not affected by the money or the success or the fame and it's a very, very honest relationship."
Meanwhile, Jamal's best friend Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) will find herself in the middle of a tough situation in season 3. Her loyalty to the Lyons will be tested when her boyfriend J Poppa signs with a new recording label and asks her to leave Empire with him for good. "Becky has loyalty to this place," Sidibe told Entertainment Weekly. "Becky has loyalty to Lucious and all of the Lyons and she can't imagine leaving it. But she might have to start thinking about doing so."

New Music: Chris Brown Feat. Aaliyah & Static Major – Charge It To The Game (No Love) [Full, Unreleased]
Over the weekend, an unreleased goodie surfaced online. Previously previewed as a very short snippet in 2014, a record that Chris Brown was working on, that included unreleased vocals by Aaliyah and Playa member Static Major, has now leaked in full!
The origin of the record, from our understanding, is that Brown had access to some unreleased Aaliyah vocal tracks while he was working on his album X. Most of you will easily remember the actual single he released featuring Baby Girl, “Don’t Think They Know.”
This record, as it can be heard now, features a lot more of Aaliyah. Granted it’s still rough, but anytime we can hear the angelic vocals of the late Aaliyah, it is well welcomed.
“If you ain’t no good, you ain’t no good / You gets no love in my hood,” sings Breezy and Aaliyah on the chorus.

Prayers Up! NBA Baller Jrue Holiday finds out his Pregnant Wife Is Diagnosed With Brain Tumor
New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday will miss the start of the season to care for his pregnant wife Lauren Holiday who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Jrue and his wife, a 28-year-old retired soccer star, two-time gold medalist and 2015 World Cup winner, were devastated to learn that doctors found a benign tumor on the right side of her brain in June. The couple got the sad news when she was about six months along in her pregnancy. She’s due to have their first child together in October.
While the tumor is benign, operable and luckily not a threat to their unborn daughter, Lauren has to undergo surgery to have it removed. However, the brain surgery will need to wait until after Lauren gives birth, pushing the procedure and her recovery into the NBA regular season.
The 26-year-old NBA baller told NOLA.com:
"My family comes before basketball. I'm obviously blessed to play this game and be in the position I am in, but my wife is the most important thing in the world to me. She comes before anything else."
While this should be a joyous time for the couple, Jrue is remaining optimistic about the unfortunate situation.
"Obviously, we were and are still very excited about the birth of our first child, but our focus shifted from having this magnificent blessing to making sure everything is going to be OK with Lauren and the child. Our priorities right now are being able to manage Lauren's symptoms and still have a fairly healthy pregnancy."
Jrue also said his the Pelicans organization -- who agree he should be spending this time being a husband and a dad-to-be -- has been very supportive of his decision.
"The Pelicans have been great. There wasn't any pressure to be with the team or to choose between my team and my wife. They told me to be a husband first. I don't think they know how much their support means to me and my family."
Well that's one silver lining.
Jrue and Lauren met as students at UCLA and later married in July 2013, the same month he was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Pelicans. Lauren retired from playing soccer in the prime of her career to start a family with Jrue.

Last week Chris Brown was released on $250k bond after being arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on a thieving house guest. Chris speaks about the arrest claiming his character has been defaced. Stevie J Will NOT Go to Jail Over Child Support Case, Credits God
Stevie J, real name Steven Jordan, will not be spending time behind bars any time soon.
On Tuesday, the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star updated his fans on Instagram, noting that the judge has decided that he will not go to jail. He shared a message about the positive news, posing with one of his daughter’s. Stevie credits God for his win in court.

REPORT -- Ed Hartwell Calls The Cops To The Home He Shared With Keshia Knight Pulliam
Keshia Knight Pulliam packed up Ed's ish and threw it into the garage because she refused to let him inside the house, this according to an insider close to Ed Hartwell.
Apparently, the 8-months-pregnant actress isn't here for letting the man who blindsided her with a divorce into the house. Even after they reportedly pre-arranged a time for Ed to come pick up his stuff. Ed recently called the cops to escort him into his own house, despite Keshia's mother allegedly being told by her daughter not to let him inside.

Insiders say that former NFL player Hartwell, who blindsided his pregnant wife in July when he filed for divorce without telling her, arrived at the home they used to share in the Sandy Springs suburb of Atlanta at an arranged time.
Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy Huxtable on the once-beloved NBC show, wasn’t home, but sources say her mother said that her daughter had left instructions that Hartwell wasn’t to be allowed in the house.
We’re told his belongings had been packed into boxes and left in a garage, but Hartwell — who had rented the home with his wife during their six-month marriage — claimed some of his things were missing. A friend of Hartwell’s says he called the police to help him enter the house, where he collected the rest of his things with a police escort. “It hurt his feelings,” said an insider, “It’s just Keshia being petty.”

Say What Now? Russian Blogger Faces 5 Years in Jail for Playing ‘Pokémon Go’ in Public
The hype around ‘Pokémon Go’ seems to have mostly died down stateside, but people other countries are still excitedly trying to catch ’em all.
One Russian blogger has gotten himself in trouble with local authorities for trying to catch Pokémon in church.
via Vocativ: Thousands of users on Twitter, Facebook, and Russia’s largest social network, Vkontakte, are calling for the release of a popular Russian blogger who was detained for playing Pokémon Go inside a church in Yekaterinburg. People both inside and outside Russia are coming to his defense, using the hashtag #FreeSokolovsky (#??????????????????? in Russian) an effort to free him from detention.
The blogger, Ruslan Sokolovsky, is being held for two months, Russia’s investigative committee said in a Saturday statement, the AFP reported. He was charged with offending religious sensibilities, as well as with inciting hatred, after posting a YouTube video of himself playing the augmented reality game during prayer in a cathedral in mid-August, the AFP reported.
Earlier this year, a segment on a Russian state news network warned players against playing Pokémon Go in churches or at the country’s borders, suggesting that such actions could result in arrest and jail time, according to reports. In his recent video, Sokolovsky challenges the ban in churches, asking “who the hell can get offended from walking with a smartphone in a church?” He now faces five years in jail.

Gretchen Carlson And Fox Settle Her Sexual Harassment Lawsuit For $20M
Fox is said to have agreed to pay former Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson $20 million to settle her sexual harassment lawsuit against former Fox News chief Roger Ailes — and apologized for the discriminatory treatment she said she experienced from him and others.
Carlson “exhibited the highest standards of journalism and professionalism” during her tenure, Fox says. “We are proud that she was part of the Fox News team. We sincerely regret and apologize for the fact that Gretchen was not treated with the respect and dignity that she and all of our colleagues deserve.”
Carlson says that she’s “gratified” by Fox’s “decisive action” adding that she’s “ready to move on to the next chapter of my life in which I will redouble my efforts to empower women in the workplace…. All women deserve a dignified and respectful workplace in which talent, hard work and loyalty are recognized, revered and rewarded.”
A filing that her lawyer, Nancy Erika Smith, made at New Jersey Superior Court today — although it’s dated August 30 — says that Carlson is voluntarily dismissing her action “in its entirety with prejudice.”
Vanity Fair was first to report the $20 million settlement figure. It also says that Fox is preparing to settle two additional sexual harassment cases against Ailes.
The settlement follows a devastating report Friday from New York Magazine‘s Gabriel Sherman that said Carlson had secretly recorded conversations where she alleged that Ailes had harassed her. The story charged that Ailes had created a “culture of fear at Fox” and “was known for monitoring employee emails and phone conversations and hiring private investigators.” But with FNC’s financial success “Ailes became untouchable.” Rupert Murdoch, who controls 21st Century Fox, “tolerated Ailes’s abusiveness because he was pleased with the results.”
Ailes seemed ready to counterattack: He hired Charles Harder, the lawyer Hulk Hogan used in a successful suit that charged Gawker Media with violating his privacy. Harder told New York to hold on to documents used in Sherman’s story for a possible suit charging the magazine with defamation.
Rupert Murdoch, now Fox’s co-executive chairman, took charge of Fox News on July 21 when he and his sons — co-executive chairman Lachlan Murdoch and CEO James Murdoch — cut Ailes loose. An internal investigation found that Ailes had also come on to FNC superstar Megyn Kelly and others.

#TEAMEMPIRE: Jussie Smollett calls Donald Trump ‘mogul of hate’
”Empire” star Jussie Smollett got passionate about his hate for Donald Trump during an interview with Michelangelo Signorile on SiriusXM Progress.
Smollett, 32, has stood in solidarity with Trump rally protestors on his Twitter, but now voiced his support in conversation with Signorile.
“I think that they are brave women and men,” Smollett says. “I think that they are soldiers against hate. I think that he is the mogul of hate. That is what I will call him forever. What he has done is capitalized on the fear of this nation.”
In a fiery plea, Smollett continued on that he considers Trump someone people should be afraid of, not encouraging.
“I think that [Trump] is truly one the worst people that has ever walked the face of this planet,” Smollett says. “I can’t talk about him without getting heated and I get so emotional about it. I’m so emotional about it because I feel it so deeply. And I’m also ashamed. I’m embarrassed for our nation, that we allowed someone like this to get so far.”
“We have learned to just be okay with laughing at something. To just be like, ‘Oh, this is a reality show.’ But it’s not a reality show. This is politics. This is something that is going to run our nation and in turn help run our world,” the actor and singer continued.
Smollett says he also doesn’t understand Trump supporters’ reasoning.
“And for everybody that is supporting Trump: Fuck are you thinkin’ about? Why the fuck?” Smollett says.

Big Freedia Pleads Guilty to Stealing Section 8 Housing Vouchers
Reality TV star Big Freedia (real name Freddie Ross Jr.) appeared in federal court to plead guilty to stealing Section 8 vouchers. According to tweets from WWL reporter David Hammer, Freedia was in court with reality TV cameras, presumably for her hit show Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce. Reportedly, she was given $25k bond for the theft. Her sentencing will take place on June 16th.
Earlier this month, Freedia issued a statement taking full responsibility but saying it was a mistake and not an intentional effort to steal federal assistance.
"This is an incredibly unfortunate situation. I was on subsidized housing for many years before my financial situation changed. I quickly found myself in a new economic structure and, frankly, knew little about how to handle my money. It wasn’t until recently (after I had stopped receiving housing vouchers) that it became very clear I had received assistance to which I wasn’t entitled. It was an oversight – but one that I take full responsibility for."
"Housing vouchers are a vital lifeline for many people I know in New Orleans and around the country, including struggling artists. I truly believe there needs to be more programs for artists and musicians to teach basic financial literacy and planning. Coming from where I came from, I know that I could have used that kind of assistance. I’m exploring ways to be a part of the solution in this area and am looking forward to putting this matter behind me."
Freddia is best known for for work in the New Orleans genre of hip hop called bounce music. She has been credited with helping popularize the genre, which was largely underground since developing in the early 1990s. In 2013, she got her own reality show on the fuse Channel which chronicles her life on tour and at home. On July 7, she released her autobiography “God Save The Queen Diva”.

It’s no secret that sex offenders are often beaten by fellow inmates – and unfortunately for Jared Fogle, his time at Colorado’s Englewood Federal Correctional Institution has been no different from that of the average offender’s.
The former Subway spokesman plead guilty to distribution of child pornography and travel with the intent of having sex with a minor, and began his bid back in November. Now, reports say he was repeatedly punched in the face in a surprise attack.
From TMZ: According to docs, Fogle got jumped in the rec yard at Englewood prison in Colorado back on January 29, and it was not much of a fight. An inmate named Steven Nigg pushed Fogle down and then unloaded a barrage of punches to his face.
Nigg, who’s in for a weapons charge, left Fogle with a bloody nose, swollen face and scratches on his neck. 60-year-old Nigg was also injured — a small cut on his left hand from delivering the whuppin’. Prison officials put Nigg in solitary as punishment. Gossip Cop reports: Nigg supposedly targeted Fogle because of his specific crimes. The Englewood facility has a large number of sexual predators, likely in part due to a program it offers to rehabilitate sex offenders.
Fogle was sentenced to over 15 years in prison, and though he is appealing the decision, at this time he’ll be released no earlier than 2029.

Ashanti faced her stalker in court on Wednesday, and even had to deal with his lurid questions, as he stand trial a third time for harassing the singer.
Devar Hurd, 37, has reportedly been terrorizing Ashanti since 2003, and has been in jail ever since 2013 when he violating a restraining order by taking a picture with her unknowing sister.
He could have pleaded guilty in this latest trial and been automatically released for time served, but instead he decided to take the case all the way to trial - perhaps to torture Ashanti on the stand yet again.
Since he is representing himself, it was Hurd that cross-examined an emotional Ashanti on the stand on Wednesday, confronting her with lewd text messages and tweets he sent her.
When he demanded Ashanti explain why he's facing a felony stalking charge for tweeting gross messages to her in 2013, the 35-year-old singer responded: 'You continuously tweeted over and over again disgusting, derogatory, disrespectful things to me after you had already gone to jail for doing the same thing. I wish you to stop. I just wish you to stop.'
Hurd claims that the two had a romantic relationship, and that the fact Ashanti never blocked him on Twitter is proof that he's not guilty.
Hurd first went to jail for harassing Ashanti in 2009, when a jury found him guilty of sending pictures of himself masturbating to the singer's mother.
He faced trial again in 2014, when he continued to send inappropriate messages to Ashanti and even posed for a picture with her sister, who didn't know what he looked like.
However, the case went to mistrial then when a juror fell ill during deliberations. The case was tried again the following year, but the jury deadlocked on the felony stalking charge and it was called a mistrial again.
If convicted, Hurd faces a four year sentence.
