BOY right about now it SUCKS to be Jennifer Hudson. She and fiancée David Otunga broke up after he confronted her, claiming she was secretly dating music producer Mali Music ....according to TMZ.
Hudson denies having any relationship with the producer, but Otunga believes Hudson and Mali Music were having a secret affair for months before the confrontation.
The tea is that Jennifer and Mali Music met a few years ago, when she hired him to perform at a party. They became friends and we're told they have been in the studio together a number of times. She told Charlamagne Tha God back in 2014, "My favorite artist is Mali Music. See, y'all don't even know who he is. Y'all gotta look up Mali Music, trust me."
Mali Music was deep into gospel but crossed over into secular music. She calls him her "dream artist."
I guess after that tea getting spilled and began a rukus cops kicked David out of the family home Thursday night after Jennifer got an order of protection claiming she feared him, he had gotten physical with her and he was a threat to her and her son. David vehemently denies the allegations.
Mali has not responded to the allegations! And THIS JUST IN She’s been AXED from ‘The Voice’ The show’s executives are sick and tired of her behavior so JHUD’s first season coaching on The Voice will also be her last. Apparently, her ‘diva’ behavior was just too much for the crew members as well as for the cast.
The singer won the show in the United Kingdom and then joined Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Miley Cyrus on the American version’s season 13.
But soon after, she and Shelton started arguing a lot, and that was a huge problem for the production.
‘Blake can’t stand Jennifer at all. The two are constantly at war both on-camera and off-camera, and it’s gotten to the point where he can’t even talk to her or look at her,’ one insider on set revealed.
However, it’s not just Blake who disliked her – the crew can’t stand her diva antics either!
‘Jennifer doesn’t show up on time and is a complete diva when she does. She’s constantly complaining about her outfits and is always unhappy with her hair and make-up. But honestly, there’s only so much that they can do!’ the spy dished.
Furthermore, Hudson has been promoting her production company, JHud Productions, a lot lately on The Voice.
The execs made sure to reprimand her for using the show for her own gain.
But it looks like there’s not much they can do as she refuses to stop plugging her business.
Next season, both her and Miley Cyrus will be gone from their judge chairs and replaced by Alicia Keys, and Kelly Clarkson.

The first half of Empire's second season witnessed a revolving door of celebrity cameos. But, believe it or not, there are still a select few artists the show has yet to get on board.
So, on the heels of the hit FOX show's spring premiere as well as the Friday debut of their new 20-track album, Empire: Original Soundtrack, Season 2 Volume 2 — a follow-up to 2015's Empire: Original Soundtrack, Season 2 Volume 1 — we caught up with Empire music producer and Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Ne-Yo and asked which artists he'd love to see lend their talents to the show. "There’s definitely a fun and energetic element that a Chris Brown could bring to the show. I don’t know if he’d ever do it, but I definitely feel like that’d be a moment if he’d lend some of his genius to the show. And from a songwriting perspective, too. You know, he’s amazing at both. It’s funny — I remember meeting Chris before he could write and talking to him about it and him feeling like it was such a difficult thing to do and I was like, ‘Nah, bruh, if you feel passionately about something, you can write a song.’ And sure enough, here he is doing what he’s doing. I’m proud of that dude in a lot of ways."

"People don’t understand how dope that guy really is. He will give you authentic hood (music), but at the same time, that man will get on the piano and blow your mind. I feel like him and Hakeem getting into the studio together could be a moment."

"We already had Alicia (Keys), but I don’t feel like we’ve even scratched the surface of what could potentially happen there. I would love for us to get, like, an Ed Sheeran or an Adele or somebody like that to just cross over. I try not to view Empire as a black show. I mean, it’s a predominantly black cast, but my thing has always been this: Music don’t have no color. It’s a bridge."

Maxwell Pays tribute to Prince during his Jazz Festival Set
The second day of the 2016 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival kicked off at the Fair Grounds Race Course Saturday (April 23) “We just lost the greatest musician in the world,” Maxwell said. “He was one of the most beloved, one of the most special… Everyone is up on this stage because of him. Prince was not just once but he will forever be the greatest [musician in the world].”
He’s well-known for his high-energy live performances and Drake is about to hit the road for a North American tour.
Joined by opening act Future, the Canadian hitmaker will kick off the Summer Sixteen Tour on July 20th in Austin, Texas. From there Drake will visit over 30 cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston.
Things will wrap up in Vancouver, British Columbia in September, and tickets for all dates will go on sale this Friday, April 29th!

Awwww, Stephen Curry Out At Least 2 Weeks With MCL Knee!
He's been healthy all season, but this first round of the playoffs has been anything but nice to the reigning NBA MVP.
After Steph Curry got injured for the second time in the post season Sunday afternoon, he went in for an MRI on his knee after injuring it on the court in the second quarter. Reportedly, he slipped on sweat on the floor.
Today, the Warriors issued an update saying it's indeed an MCL sprain, and they will have to re-evaluate his condition in two weeks. The update on the site reads:
Warriors guard Stephen Curry underwent an MRI this morning that revealed a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Curry suffered the injury on the last play of the first half of Game 4 last night at Houston and was diagnosed with a sprained right knee by the team’s medical staff on site.
It's a tough hand to be dealt in the midst of the Playoffs, even if the Warriors finish off the Rockets Wednesday night without their star.

Prince Reportedly Died Without a Will; Money Would Go to 6 Siblings
*Any money left behind by Prince may be split among his six siblings by default.
According to TMZ, it appears the musician died without a will in place, leaving his siblings, half-siblings and children of his deceased siblings in line to receive a piece of the pie:
Multiple sources who have worked with Prince as recently as 2014 tell us … he did not have a will. Of course it’s possible in the last year or so Prince had a change of heart and drafted one, but all of our sources say based on his history with them that’s highly unlikely.
Our sources say various professionals raised the issue of a will with Prince but he never had an interest in drafting one.
We’ve contacted various people, including family members, and they all say they have not seen a will and so far no one has come forward with one.
If Prince did indeed die without a will, under Minnesota law his siblings — the closest living relatives — would share equally in his estate. Prince had 8 brothers and sisters, and only Tyka was a full sibling.
People have assumed Tyka — who has taken the reins — would get everything, but that’s not the case. In Minnesota half siblings and full siblings are treated exactly the same when it comes to inheritance without a will … they all share equally.
Two of Prince’s siblings are dead, leaving 6. There’s one catch. If the deceased siblings had kids, they would be entitled to the same share as their parent.
As we reported … our sources say Prince’s estate is worth somewhere south of $150 million.
Piers Morgan: Beyonce’s Playing The Race Card, Using Grieving Mothers to Sell Records!
Piers Morgan is not a fan of Beyonce’s new album, Lemonade. The TV journalist has taken the mega-star to task, stating that he feels that she is not only playing the race card, but also exploiting grieving mother’s.
If you watched her Lemonade HBO visual movie, it featured Lesley McSpadden, holding a photo of her late son Mike Brown who was shot dead by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014 – an incident which sparked huge protests.
The movie also featured Sybrina Fulton, whose 17-year-old son Trayvon Martin was killed in Florida by a local vigilante George Zimmerman in a case that sparked national outrage in 2012.
In an op-ed to Daily Mail, Piers Morgan explains why he simply isn’t a fan.
The new Beyoncé wants to be seen as a black woman political activist first and foremost, entertainer and musician second. I still think she’s a wonderful singer and performer, and some of the music on Lemonade is fantastic. But I have to be honest, I preferred the old Beyoncé. The less inflammatory, agitating one.
The one who didn’t use grieving mothers to shift records and further fill her already massively enriched purse. The one who didn’t play the race card so deliberately and to my mind, unnecessarily. The one who wanted to be judged on her stupendous talent not her skin color, and wanted us all to do the same.

NBC Taps Jennifer Hudson & Original Broadway Cast Member For Hairspray Live!
For its 2016 live musical event, NBC selected Hairspray. Wise choice if you ask me. Love the stage production and feature film musical. The peacock network has announced its first two cast members.
Fresh off her Broadway debut in The Color Purple, Jennifer Hudson heads over to Baltimore to play Motormouth Maybelle. Queen Latifah memorably played the character in the 2007 film. Inspired casting if you ask me. J-Hud is going to absolutely slay it. Find out which Broadway legend is also joining the project.
John Travolta famously played Edna Turnblad in the hit movie, but Harvey Fierstein originated the role in the Broadway production. The 61-year-old actor, who won a Tony Award for his performance, will reprise his role for the peacock network.
“We are beyond thrilled with this incredibly talented duo of stars for Hairspray Live!,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. “Harvey Fierstein created the role of Edna Turnblad on Broadway in an indelible Tony-winning performance that demanded to be memorialized on film, and we’re happy he wanted to step into her shoes one last, unforgettable time. We’re also so grateful that the incomparable Jennifer Hudson will play Motormouth Maybelle and we know her rendition of ‘I Know Where I’ve Been’ will literally stop the show.”
Once again, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the musical. Grease: Live director Alex Rudzinski will co-direct along with Kenny Leon (The Wiz Live!). Hairspray Live will air on December 7.

Andy Cohen Expresses Support For Kelly Ripa & Questions Michael Strahan’s Decision To Leave
It’s no secret that Andy Cohen and Kelly Ripa are best buddies. This morning, the 47-year-old Watch What Happens Live host lived up to his GBF title and stood by Ripa’s side.
During his SiriusXM radio show, he defended Ripa against all the media scrutiny. He also chimed in on Michael Strahan jumping ship over to Good Morning America. Let’s just say, it wasn’t the most optimistic forecast.
“I’ve been getting so many questions about what’s going on with my friend Kelly Ripa, and ‘How’s she doing?’ and ‘What do you think?’ You know, I want to say that she… I know she spent the weekend celebrating her 20th anniversary with Mark, which has been a long-planned vacation. So don’t get her trending on Twitter today because she’s not at work. She is on a long-planned vacation.”
“You know, when I look at this whole situation, it’s worth nothing, the two of them, Kelly and Michael, they had such great chemistry,” he continued. “And I’m just looking at this and it just seems like a premature end to a great relationship that ended way too prematurely. So much has been written about this situation and how it was handled. I’ve been a TV executive or producer for 25 years, so I’m always fascinated to see how TV things go down. I can’t say this went down the greatest way.”
“The thing that no one is talking about is, to me, is that the job of co-hosting Live! is the greatest job in TV,” Andy said. “She’s so good at it and he’s really good at it, and it’s a job you take and you take it for life. She’s been at that job for 15 years. I was celebrating on her 15th anniversary show about two months ago. You keep that job. You don’t go anywhere. So I can’t get over that he left Live! where he was co-hosting Live! With Kelly and Michael. Your name is in the freakin’ title! You can spend your life here! You can spend 15 years here and make serious bank, by the way. And still do GMA twice a week or do Pyramid or whatever else he’s doing.”
“He left and went to GMA. He is now one of five people sitting at that crowded anchor desk,” he continued. “It’s like 18 co-anchors and here’s my thing: What happens if the ratings don’t go up? What happens if there’s not a pickup? Then what’s going to happen to that sweet man? Honestly! Because by then she’ll have a new co-host. I don’t know. I just don’t see how you leave the greatest team in TV to be one of five people.”
“I am really looking forward to tomorrow morning on Live!,” Andy said. “And I’ve spoken to Kelly a bunch of times. I can’t wait to see what she says. Right? Who’s not going to be watching that tomorrow? I just think she had this great relationship on TV. You know? And it was a big, bad breakup.”
Andy makes some solid points for sure. I, like him, am looking forward to watching Ripa return to Live With Kelly & Michael! tomorrow morning. Given all the media attention, plenty of other eyeballs will also be tuning in.

Heather Headley to Replace Jennifer Hudson In The Color Purple!
Heather Headley, the theater-fan favorite who hasn’t had an ongoing Broadway role since she won a 2000 Tony Award for “Aida,” will take over for Jennifer Hudson in “The Color Purple,” which Hudson departs in May.
Hudson’s six-month contract in “Color Purple” is up May 8. Although it’s more common for performers to sign onto ongoing Broadway musicals for a year, Hudson’s contract was half that, owing to the demands of the Oscar winner’s schedule. (The exit date seems poised to throw a wrench into any potential Tony Awards campaign for Hudson; all the nominators will have seen her performance in advance of the nominations announcement on May 3, but many of the awards’ out-of-town voters may not see the show until later in the month.)
Headley, who seems like she could also be a good fit to play the musical’s protagonist Celie, will play the featured role of Shug Avery, the jazz singer who has a profound effect on Celie’s life.
Headley made her Broadway debut as Nala in the original cast of “The Lion King,” and went on to play the title character in the next Disney musical, Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida.” After her Tony win in that show, she launched a recording career, and in 2012 played the Whitney Houston role in the musical adaptation of “The Bodyguard” on the West End. In 2013, she appeared in a brief Broadway run of a concert by classical vocal quartet Il Divo.
Headley joins “The Color Purple” May 10, appearing alongside a cast that includes Cynthia Erivo and Danielle Brooks (“Orange Is the New Black”). Since opening in December, the production has mostly sold solidly, if not spectacularly; whether the departure of Hudson will have any effect on the box office remains to be seen.

JENNIFER HUDSON is furious with BARBARA WALTERS for trashing her fiancé on “The View”! A source says the Oscar-winning singer, 32, left the show in tears after Barbara asked whether her hubby-to-be, 33-year-old David Otunga, paid for Jennifer’s engagement ring.
“Jennifer was really angry with Barbara for asking something so personal and trying to embarrass her and David,” said an insider on the daytime chat fest. “Even though Jennifer earns more than David, he does pretty well, and she doesn’t like it when someone implies he’s mooching off her.”
David, a Harvard-educated litigation attorney and professional wrestler, popped the question in September 2008 with a five-carat diamond and platinum ring.
In early October of this year, the “Dreamgirls” star was on “The View” promoting her latest film, “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete,” when Barbara stepped on her toes.

The panel had previously discussed whether a woman should buy her own engagement ring, and when Jennifer was later chatting with the ladies, Barbara cattily asked her: “Did (David) pay for the ring?”
Jennifer said “yes” and flashed her sparkler, but she broke down backstage, according to the source.
“Jennifer felt it was an insulting crack,” explained the insider. “She had tears in her eyes as she talked about how tired she is of defending herself and David, and she said Barbara should know better. Jennifer has vowed that she won’t appear on ‘The View’ again until after Barbara retires.”
