Priyanka Chopra Opens Up About How Getting Replaced in a Movie Changed Her

Here’s what the 34-year-old Baywatch actress had to share with the mag:
On being woman in a male dominated industry: “[Once], a producer told my manager that if I couldn’t adjust dates according to the male actors, then I would be replaced because women are replaceable in films when there’s a big male actor. I was replaced, and it felt terrible…Instances like that made me think about how I could be irreplaceable. What could I do to make myself strong enough [that] no one would have the audacity to say that to me or do that to me again?”
On learning to act on the job: “Nobody knew I could act. I didn’t know I could act. When you’re casting Miss World in a movie, it [makes] business sense. So, I learned on the job. Everything I have learned today has been on the job.”
On starting a family: “I want as many kids as I can have. I want a family. I want the smell of pancakes or dosas on Sunday mornings. I feel like it has to happen when it happens. I think there’s too much pressure put on women about when is the right time for them to have a family or to start thinking about who they want to be with. I don’t think women in today’s day and age need to feel that pressure. We’re at such a great time where with science, technology and the world today, you can take charge and have a sense of power when it comes to that.”

Phaedra Parks was exposed as the one who spread the biggest rumor of the season during the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion special this past Sunday, with Porsha Williams revealing that Phaedra planted the story in her ear that Kandi Burruss tried to drug her.
Now, in an interview that was conducted before the reunion, Phaedra spoke on the ladies and the gossip culture of the show.
"It's funny to think that I have any additional time to be caught up in gossip," she told People. "I have several jobs, as we know, and I have two small children. But I think everyone always has to blame someone."
She went on to speak on why she believes she's the topic of conversation for many of her cast mates.
"I'm sure the footage speaks for itself," she said. "My every scene is not talking about anyone on the show except for what's going on in my personal life. Others can't stop mentioning me. Their whole family mentions me. Their whole staff mentions me. It's just endless mentioning of me!"
Lastly, she addressed the comments attacking her "Southern Belle" character, adding that it's a last resort for her detractors.
"Sometimes, if people don't have anything concrete, they just attack your character," she said. "But my character speaks for itself. Anyone who knows me knows I'm very gracious, I'm very helpful. And a lot of the things I do for people, you never see it on camera. Because that is not my intention to get praise for it. My intention is to be a vessel and be used for the purpose of empowering people."

African-American males and females age 18-25 who have small or thin frames are needed. You should have medium to darker skin tone and completely natural hair (no wigs) that’s in an afro or can be straightened.
When are they filming?
Filming will take place in Atlanta from May 22-July 3, and you should have an open schedule.

“Love” comes to late night. Coming off the release of her latest album, Strength of a Woman, Mary J. Blige performed “Love Yourself” on “The Tonight Show.”
Backed by The Roots — and sans Kanye West — the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul performed the soulful single with her trademark prowess. Wearing a flowy black number with sheer openings, Mary sang the empowering anthem with style and with passion.
“You gotta love yourself,” she sang. “If you really want to be with someone else / You gotta feed yourself before you feed somebody else.”
The late night performance comes just in time for “The Making of: Strength of a Woman,” a behind-the-scenes documentary that’s set to air this evening (May 2) on VH1.
Released on Friday (Apr. 28), Mary’s Strength of a Woman has already garnered rave reviews. Featuring Quavo, DJ Khaled, Missy Elliott, KAYTRANADA, and more, the LP has been called “ruthless, wide-ranging, blunt” and filled with “heat.”

Taking to Instagram, Breezy revealed a tentative tracklist for the album, and it includes 40-tracks in the form of a double album! The set includes the Usher and Gucci Mane-assisted single “Party,” as well as the sexy jam “Privacy.”
Some of the other tracks include “Tempo,” “Juicy Booty,” “Covered In You,” “Reddi Whip,” “Daylight Savings,” and the closer “Last All Night.”
The follow-up to 2015’s Royalty is expected to be released this summer. After Brown finishes up his current “Party Tour” on May 23 in Los Angeles.
Fans can also expect his long-awaited documentary Welcome to My Life to hit theaters in June.

WHAT? Betsy DeVos Announced As The Speaker For Bethune-Cookman University’s Commencement Ceremony
On Monday it was announced that Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, has been chosen as the speaker for Bethune-Cookman University’s 2017 Commencement Ceremony.
It wasn’t too long until many people started to express their disapproval of the HBCU’s decision to choose DeVos as the keynote speaker for their graduating class.
According to Blavity, a graduate from the university has even made the effort to start a petition to remove DeVos as the speaker for the 2017 Commencement Ceremony.
On their official website, Bethune-Cookman said in a statement, “Much like Dr. Bethune, Founder of Bethune-Cookman University, Secretary DeVos deems the importance of opportunity and hope for students to receive an exceptional education experience. Her mission to empower parents and students resonates with the history and legacy of Dr. Bethune.”
People have even taken to twitter to express the school’s decision.

Carmelo Anthony is looking for one more shot (pun intended) with La La.
According to reports, the NBA star is doing everything he can to win her back and keep their marriage from ending in divorce.
Sources close to the couple tell TMZ, Melo’s been sending his estranged wife texts telling her he’s still in love and doesn’t want her to leave him. He’s also apologized profusely, and is begging for another chance.
Chile, he’s even trying to take her on dates and asking to go on vacation together.
Apparently he’s come to his senses and insists La La’s the only woman for him and has no plans to be with anyone else — not even that alleged side chick/baby mama.
The duo is still on friendly terms right now for their son Kiyan, 10, but the pregnancy claim is lot for La La to handle.

Nike, Under Armour & Adidas Pass on Deal with Lonzo Ball
After the UCLA Bruins lost to the Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament, the team’s star guard, Lonzo Ball, declared for the draft. However, upon the start of the tournament, the patriarch of the Ball family made headlines, claiming his sons were worth a billion-dollar sneaker deal.
While Ball’s sneaker deal comment wasn’t the only statement that made headlines, it may have been the most outrageous, as rookies rarely land signature sneaker deals, let alone a billion-dollar deal. But LaVar Ball refused to back down from his statement, as his confidence in his children reigned supreme over the criticisms of those opposed.
However, in light of Ball’s demands for a deal, three brands have already passed on his son Lonzo.
According to ESPN, Ball has confirmed that Nike, Under Armour and Adidas have all declined to complete a deal with Lonzo. While it is unusual for all big companies to completely pass on a potential top pick just before the draft, it appears LaVar Ball’s demands have forced the brands to respectfully decline to do business.
Sources say, Ball has come in with his own prototype for Lonzo’s new shoe and insisted that the companies license his Big Baller Brand from him. Despite the companies’ decision to move on, Ball is standing his grown, reiterating his wants and wishes for his son’s future.
“We’ve said from the beginning, we aren’t looking for an endorsement deal,” said Ball. “We’re looking for co-branding, a true partner. But they’re not ready for that because they’re not used to that model. But hey, the taxi industry wasn’t ready for Uber, either.”
Now, Ball is looking to work with companies in China, as he is determined to land a partner.
“We’re not going to sign with a company and then wait around for five or six years for a show like Paul George had to wait for Nike,” he said.
