#RHoA: Kandi Burruss Shares Scandalous Photos And Todd Tucker Approves Of ‘RHOA’ Star’s Racy Turn!

Kandi Burruss dropped a few risqué pictures featuring Deelishis from VH1’s hit reality TV show, Flavor of Love. Todd Tucker is loving the photo shoot and happily let his gorgeous wife know that no one is ready for what she has in store.

In one of the raunchy images, both ladies are wearing lingerie and Deelishis, whose real name is Chandra Davis, has one of her legs placed in a very unexpected place.

Deelishis told her fans that “the pictures were taken in Kandi and Todd’s dungeon.”

Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star can remember the drama that Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams caused by mentioning that dungeon last season.

Kandi gave a clue of what she is cooking by writing: “All I have to say is you’d want to be in Atl on Oct. 12. I’m putting together something fun, over the top, & very entertaining. Who’s coming? Learned a few tricks from @magiccity_takers.”

One fan said: “Love Kandi. Never know what she has cooked up. This must be the dungeon I’m ready and please plan on either Friday Saturday those are my days off MGMT.”

Another commenter stated: “Mothers are sexual beings and enjoy their sexual side. Damn!! All of you get on my nerves with that. How do you think she became a mother? Some find the pictures too scandalous, but Kandi has some defenders.

#HipHopNews: Birdman Apologizes To Lil Wayne At Lil Weezyana Fest

Birdman publicly apologized to Lil Wayne on stage at the fourth annual Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans on Saturday (Aug. 25). With Weezy by his side, the Cash Money boss took the mic and issued an apology in front of the crowd of thousands at Champions Square.

 “I knew this day was gon’ come, but I didn’t know when it was gon’ come,” said Baby. “But this ni**a right here, the best ni**a, the realest ni**a, the illest ni**a. And I wanted to apologize to my ni**a worldwide.”

The two then embraced before Birdman pledged his loyalty to Wayne. “That ni**a put his life in my hands and I’ma keep it real with that ni**a, we gon’ do this shit till the day we die. This YMCMB for death,” he continued before performing the Big Tymers’ “Still Fly.”

The apology comes after Birdman and Lil Wayne settled their highly-publicized beef. Wayne sued Birdman and Cash Money for $51 million in 2015, seeking release from his contract. The suit was settled for an undisclosed amount in June, and the long-awaited Carter V may see a release before the end of 2018.

“We’ll get that this year,” Birdman told Rap-Up in February. “I’m guaranteeing you gon’ get it this year.”

Jacksonville shooting suspect David Katz hospitalized for mental illness, court records say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have identified 24-year-old David Katz as the suspect in a shooting in Jacksonville on Sunday that left Katz and at least two others dead.

Here's everything we know about Katz so far.

EA Sports confirmed that the shooting took place during a "Madden NFL 19" competition. The competition was being held at GLHF Game Bar, located at the Jacksonville Landing outdoor mall complex.

Authorities were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. local time after they say Katz opened fire with a single firearm.

In a video stream of the competition, a sound that appears to be gunshots can be heard before the stream cuts off.

A witness told local television station WJXX that the shooting started after an argument over the tournament. ABC has not been able to independently verify that claim.

Authorities said Katz died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

MENTAL ILLNESS TREATMENT

Court records obtained by The Associated Press show that a man accused of killing two people and then himself at a video gaming competition in Florida had been hospitalized for mental illness.

Divorce filings from the parents of 24-year-old David Katz of Baltimore say that as a teenager he was twice hospitalized in psychiatric facilities and that he was prescribed anti-psychotic and anti-depressant medications.

The records show Katz's parents disagreed deeply on how to care for their troubled son. Katz's father claimed his estranged wife was exaggerating symptoms of mental illness as part of the couple's long-running and acrimonious custody battle. They divorced in 2007.

WEAPONS, INVESTIGATION

Investigators have found the suspect's vehicle and say he stayed in the area the night before. The FBI searched a south Baltimore home on Sunday evening belonging to Katz's father, the Associated Press reports.

Chief Mike Williams with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department just revealed that David Katz was armed with two firearms - a .45 caliber, a 9mm and extra ammo when he committed Sunday's shootings. He only used one of those firearms in the shooting though, and it was outfitted with an aftermarket laser sight. ATF agents said Katz legally purchased both weapons within the month of August in Baltimore from a licensed dealer.

There is video surveillance from inside the restaurant that reveals Katz targeted the gamers and then took his own life.

Authorities have searched his hotel room and retrieved items from it but did not reveal what hotel he stayed at on Saturday night. They don't know yet if Katz traveled to Jacksonville alone or with someone else.

There is no indication that he planned this attack before he committed it on Sunday. So far, they have found no notes from Katz.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Charles Spencer said Katz's parents are fully cooperating with FBI agents in Baltimore.

BALTIMORE HOME RAIDED

Katz lives in south Baltimore, according to local media reports.

An upscale townhouse raided overnight by the FBI belongs to Katz's father, the Associated Press reports. The home is located near Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Reporters who gathered outside the house did not see the FBI removing any bags of evidence.

KATZ DESCRIBED AS 'OFF' BY FELLOW GAMER

EA Sports' website listed a player named David Katz as a 2017 championship winner.

Police confirmed that Katz had won a Madden tournament in the past. They said he was staying in town for the game.

A fellow gamer on Monday described Katz as "kind of different" to the Associated Press.

"Something was off about him," said Shane Kivlen, whose best friend was killed in the shooting.

Kivlen described Katz as smart but said that he did not communicate much with other gamers, either online or face-to-face at competitions.

Fan Charged After Rushing Stage at Beyonce and Jay-Z Concert in Atlanta

A fan who ran on stage at Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s Atlanta concert on Saturday, August 25, has been charged with disorderly conduct and simple battery.

Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell, 26, approached Jay-Z and made contact with him as the couple’s On the Run II concert was ending, Atlanta Police officer Lisa Bender told the Associated Press.

Beyonce’s spokeswoman Yvette Noel-Schure says the singer and Jay-Z are fine.

Bender says Maxwell was initially issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released, but police have added a charge of simple battery. He was treated for minor injuries, and Bender says there were no other injuries.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Maxwell has a lawyer.

Avicii's Family Creates Digital Memory Board

It's been four months since Avicii's untimely death. In the time that's passed, musicians and loved ones alike have paid tribute to the DJ, born Tim Bergling. Aside from social media posts and performance homages, the Bergling family has amassed thousands of emails and letters from fans around the world and decided to create a space for anyone to post their memories of the artist for the world to see.

Avicii's official website has become that outlet. The site is now an open-source memoriam for those to leave notes and images to honor the Swedish producer.

"Tim created music that brought people together with timeless memories from all over the world," the website states. "We created this space so you could share your memories with us and let the world know what Avicii meant to you. His music and your memories are forever."

Avicii died in the Middle Eastern country of Muscat, Oman on April 20 from self-inflicted wounds after cutting himself with a shard of glass from a broken bottle. He was 28 years old. Though the news came to a surprise to the public, his family described him as a "fragile artist" in a statement concerning his death.

A Famous Director Once Asked Laverne Cox If Trans Actors Even Existed

Few people recognize the importance of trans representation in Hollywood more than Laverne Cox.

“I think part of the thing that has kept casting directors and producers from casting trans people to play trans parts, and ideally to play other parts that aren’t just trans, is that they don’t think we exist,” the trans actress told Ebony Magazine in an interview published Monday.

“I remember a famous director once said when he was asked why he didn’t hire a trans actor to play a trans character, he said, ‘Do they even exist?’” said Cox, best known for playing Sophia Burset in “Orange Is The New Black.”

Cox’s interaction with the unnamed director reflects a larger issue that has plagued Hollywood. Dozens of cisgender people have played trans characters over the years, including Jeffrey Tambor in the TV series “Transparent,” Felicity Huffman in the 2005 film “Transamerica” and Jared Leto in 2007′s “Dallas Buyers Club” (for which he won the Best Actor Oscar).

Most recently, actress Scarlett Johansson came under fire for taking the role of a trans man in the upcoming film “Rub & Tug.” As the criticism mounted, Johansson dropped out of the movie.

When we are casting people who are not trans to play trans characters, it’s sending the message that trans women aren’t really women, trans men aren’t real men, that non-binary people don’t exist.

Laverne Cox

Cox told Ebony that trans actors playing trans characters (and cis characters) will affect how the public views the trans community.

Given that the vast majority of Americans have said they don’t personally know a transgender person, everything that most of them “learn about transgender people, they learn from the media,” Cox said. “When we are casting people who are not trans to play trans characters, it’s sending the message that trans women aren’t really women, trans men aren’t real men, that non-binary people don’t exist.”

The best example of just how important representation really is, Cox said, is the reaction she’s received from many trans fans of her portrayal of Sophia on “OITNB.”

“I can’t tell you how many trans people I’ve gotten letters and emails from saying, ‘I now believe it’s possible to be a working trans actor because I saw you on television. I came out to my family because I saw you on television. I didn’t commit suicide because I saw you on television,’” Cox said. “That’s the difference it makes when you have diverse representation.”

Mariah Carey Teases New 'Secret Project'

Alright, Lambs, Mariah Carey is working on a "secret project," and it involves lots of glam!

In a teaser video, shared to her Twitter on Sunday (August 26), the "We Belong Together" singer  is shown sitting on a bed filled with high-heels and jewelry as a man says in the background, "So, we are shooting a secret project..." Mariah then says "can't see the ensemble" and playfully shushes herself.

Mariah teased her secret project just before she opened up to People about her upcoming album. “I’ve been working on my new album for a while," she said. "This is a labor of love and I’m really excited. This is me at this moment in my life being able to express myself as a writer and a singer. I’m just really in a good place.”

“My fans just want to hear me express myself and speak from the heart and sing from the heart,” she added. “Some of the record is lighthearted and fun, and some [songs] I really went deep in terms of the lyrical content. There’s a nice cross-section of things.”

Mariah has a lot on her plate these days. When she's not working on new music, she's hitting the stage for her "The Butterfly Returns” residency in Las Vegas, which recently got extended into 2019 with new dates in February. “I’ve been loving it so much,” she said about her show. “A lot of the fans who have come out to see it were really happy having a little more diversity. I want to make it really impromptu and surprise the people who have come out again and again to see the show.”

‘The Conners’: John Goodman Says Roseanne Barr Character Will Be Killed Off: Report

When talking about the new iteration of the series and his character Dan, the drywall contractor and Roseanne’s husband in the original series and revival, told the publication, “It’s an unknown. I guess he’ll be mopey and sad because his wife’s dead.”

ABC has not confirmed how Barr would be written off the show, which the network abruptly canceled after Barr’s racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former senior adviser to President Barack Obama. ABC described Barr’s comment as “abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values” and axed the series as it was going into production on its second season.

Barr has no financial or creative involvement in the new series after reaching a settlement with series producer Tom Werner.

ABC has described Barr’s exit only as “a sudden turn of events”: On the new show, after a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family – Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. – grapple with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.

The Conners will feature the rest of the Roseanne revival cast. Along with Goodman as Dan, Laurie Metcalf (“Jackie”), Sara Gilbert (“Darlene”), Lecy Goranson (“Becky”) and Michael Fishman (“D.J.”) will reprise their characters.

Louis C.K. Performs For First Time Since Sexual Misconduct Allegations

According to the New York Times, C.K. surprised audiences at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, a spot he frequented pre-#MeToo accusations. The audience welcomed the disgraced comedian as he took the stage at 11 PM for a 15-minute set, but he did not address or mention the allegations.

In November of last year, five women came forward in the pages of The New York Times about how the comedian masturbated in front of them. C.K. next issued a statement in response to the sexual misconduct saying it was true “And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with.”

In the wake of the accusations, C.K. was dropped by all his reps and he lost his production deal with FX. In addition, Orchard canceled the release of his film I Love You, Daddy. He also lost deals with Universal, Netflix, and HBO

#HipHopNews: XXXTENTACION's Family Announces Fan Memorial

SUNRISE, FL – The family of XXXTENTACION has announced a memorial for his fans. On Saturday (June 23), a flier was posted to X’s Instagram account revealing the details of the event.

It will be held on Wednesday (June 27) at the Florida Panther’s Stadium from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time.

Cellular devices will not be allowed inside the stadium. As the flier states, “Any person found with any device of the sort will be immediately turned around at gate or escorted out and will not be allowed back on the premises.”

X was killed on Monday (June 18) in what his lawyer believes was a “random robbery” but according to an arrest warrant obtained by TMZ, it’s possible the controversial rapper was targeted.

Dedrick D. Williams, 22, was arrested on Wednesday night (June 20) in connection with the shooting. Two other suspects are reportedly still at large.

In the days after his death, X’s mother Cleopatra Bernard revealed her son was expecting a child, although it’s unclear who the baby’s mother is. After sharing a photo of an ultrasound to her Instagram account, she then shared the same photo on X’s Instagram account on Friday (June 22).

The captioned read, “baby jah. #longlivejahseh.”

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Take Their Love Romance To India

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra‘s relationship is getting serious … the two are currently on vacation in the “Quantico” actress’ native home of India.

The couple were seen heading into a Mumbai restaurant for date night on Friday. Jonas and Chopra were seen holding hands as she led the way through photographers and the many, many fans that gathered outside.

Later in the evening, the singer posted an Instagram story showing a happy Chopra with him on a private balcony. “Her 😍,” he wrote.

According to Us Weekly, Jonas is in town meeting Chopra’s family, including her mom, Madhu. This vacation comes just one week after the duo jetted to New York for Jonas’ cousin’s wedding.

Meeting the mom is a big step in any relationship, especially one that’s only been going for the past two months.

#BoxOfficeNews: 'Jurassic World  Fallen Kingdom' Roars into Domestic Theaters at #1

(BOM) Surpassing expectations, Universal and Amblin Entertainment's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom got off to a strong start. With an estimated $150 million for Fallen Kingdom, this is only the second time ever two different films have brought in over $100 million over two consecutive weekends. The first time was in 2007 when Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End opened with $114.7 million following Shrek the Third's $121.6 million opening the weekend prior. Disney and Pixar's Incredibles 2 followed up its monster debut weekend last week with a second place finish this weekend as its domestic cume has already topped $350 million in just ten days.

With an estimated $150 million, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's opening is down ~28% compared to the $208.8 million debut for its 2015 predecessor. However, given the fact the film was competing with Incredibles 2 for a lot of the same audience, this is a solid start, especially when coupled with an "A-" CinemaScore, just a step down from the last film's "A". The film played to an audience that was 54% male with 44% of the overall audience aged 25 years and older.

This big test will be over the coming weeks, especially when you consider the 2015 film managed an astounding 3.12x multiplier after its then, record-breaking opening. Fallen Kingdom doesn't face any new, direct competition next weekend, but the following weekend sees the release of Disney and Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp followed by Hotel Transylvania 3 and Skyscraper. 2015's Jurassic World didn't drop more than 50% until its ninth weekend in release, it will be tough for Fallen Kingdom to deliver similar weekend-to-weekend performances as a domestic performance around $350-375 million seems like a good bet right now.

Fallen Kingdom is in its third weekend in international release and this weekend added 17 new markets, debuting at #1 in 16 of them. Overall the weekend delivered an estimated $106.7 million from 68 total markets for an overseas total of $561.5 million. New markets include Mexico ($12.3 million), Brazil ($9.2 million) and Australia ($7.9 million) with China still leading the way totaling $202.6 million as it begins its second weekend in release. The film will release in no new major markets next weekend with Japan debuting on July 13. The film's worldwide total currently stands at $711.5 million, ranking as the third largest worldwide release of 2018 thus far, well on its way to a billion run.

Kanye West will have to Face a Lawsuit over The Life of Pablo’s Alleged Tidal Exclusivity

Kanye West and Tidal won’t be able to dodge a lawsuit alleging that they tricked fans into subscribing to the streaming service under false claims. West repeatedly claimed that his 2016 album The Life of Pablo would only be available on Tidal, despite the fact that it was available on services like Apple Music just six weeks after its release.

‘My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal,’ Kanye tweeted….OH REALLY?

A judge has ruled that Kanye West and Tidal must face the music over the furore caused when the rapper falsely announced that ‘The Life of Pablo’ would be a Tidal exclusive.

According to reports,  Tidal fought the lawsuit, and in a motion to dismiss, Kanye last year said that ‘The Life of Pablo had been: “updated and remixed numerous times, with different vocals, lyrics, and arrangements.”

However, according to Pitchfork, a judge this week (21 June) ruled: “Mr. West’s argument is tenuous, and certainly does not pass muster in the context of a motion to dismiss.”

In an 18 page document obtained by Pitchfork, U.S. District Court Judge Gregory Woods did grant some parts of Tidal’s motions to dismiss the proposed lawsuit, but denied other parts – allowing the case to go ahead.

Ana DuVernay Scores Another Milestone for Black Female Directors

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Filmmaker Ava DuVernay has checked off another milestone for black female directors. This week her film “A Wrinkle in Time” crossed the $100 million mark domestically, a first for a black woman. The film got a late-game boost playing as a double feature at drive-in theaters with the record-breaking “Incredibles 2” this past weekend.

DuVernay said on Instagram that she may be the first but will not be the last.

DuVernay was also the first black woman to get a budget of over $100 million to direct a film. “A Wrinkle in Time” cost around $103 million to make.

The Disney film has now grossed over $132.4 million worldwide, but with marketing costs well over $100 million, “A Wrinkle in Time” is also still not in the black.

Vegas' list of potential landing spots has changed since the initial odds came out

(CBS Sports) Before the Cleveland Cavaliers had even been eliminated from the 2018 NBA Finals, oddsmakers had already released odds on where LeBron James will be playing basketball next season. LeBron has until June 29 to opt out of his $35.6 million contract for next season, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.

There has long been talk that James will take his talents to Southern California to join the Lakers next season, and the odds are in agreement: L.A. is the overwhelming favorite. Good news for Cavs fans this time around, though, as Cleveland has moved from No. 7 back in early June all the way up to No. 2 in the latest set of odds.

Here are the current odds (courtesy of Bovada), along with the odds from June 7 (courtesy of BetDSI):

As you can see, a return to the Heat has gone from one of the favorites to an extreme long shot now, and the Clippers have entered the race after not even being on the previous list.

It's hard to imagine LeBron leaving Cleveland again, but, at the same time, he's already delivered on his promise to bring a title to his hometown and it'd be difficult to blame him for leaving again given the organization's dysfunction and current roster quality.

The Lakers and 76ers are big-market teams with young talent that have been rumored to have serious interest in LeBron for quite some time, so it's not much of a shock that they're on the list. LeBron teaming up with Lonzo Ball (and possibly Paul George?) in L.A. or Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid in Philadelphia could be a lot of fun to watch.

NBA fans who enjoy parity are probably breaking out in hives at the sight of the Celtics being on this list, though they don't have great odds at landing LeBron. Hey, at least the Warriors aren't anywhere in sight.

White Woman Threatened To Call Cops On 8-Year-Old Girl Selling Water

An apparent competition over who can threaten to call the police on people of color for no good reason is really ramping up.

In a video posted to Instagram on Saturday, a white woman in San Francisco was captured apparently calling the police on a nonwhite girl who’s 8 years old. The child’s supposed crime? Selling water “illegally.”

But the woman, Alison Ettel, who spoke to HuffPost later in the day, said that “this has no racial component to it” and claims she only “pretended” to call the police.

“This woman don’t want a little girl to sell some water, she’s calling the police on an 8-year-old girl,” the child’s mother, who took the video, is heard saying.

Ettel is seen on the phone, then ducks down out of sight after seeing she is being recorded. Ettel later told HuffPost she ducked to “find a quiet place where I could hear.”

“Don’t hide, the whole world gonna see you, boo,” the woman filming says.

“Yeah, and um, illegally selling water without a permit?” Ettel says into the phone.

“On my property,” the mother responds.

“It’s not your property,” Ettel says.

The woman who shot the video, whose Instagram handle is ladyesowavy, did not respond to a message seeking comment,

Ettel told The HuffPost that the incident, which has left her feeling “horrible and heart-wrenched,” began because the girl’s mother was “screaming.” She asked the building’s security to intervene, but said they could do nothing.

“They were screaming about what they were selling,” she said. “It was literally nonstop. It was every two seconds, ‘Come and buy my water.’ It was continuous and it wasn’t a soft voice, it was screaming.”

Ettel said she had the windows of her office open. When asked why she did not close the windows, she said because it was too hot and closing them would not have stopped the noise.

After confronting the girl and her mother, Ettel said she was only bluffing when she said she was going to call the cops. The San Francisco Police Department did not respond to a message from HuffPost.

“I had been putting up with this for hours, and I just snapped,” Ettel said.

She vehemently denies the issue had to do with race.

“I have no problem with enterprising young women. I want to support that little girl. It was all the mother and just about being quiet,” she said.

The incident bears a striking similarity to one in April in which a white woman in Oakland called the police on a black family for attempting to set up a grill in a park. As the video went viral, the woman was given the nickname “BBQ Becky.”

In this most recent case, Twitter users have taken to calling the new party crasher “Permit Patty.”

Ettel said she is now getting threats online and feels “discriminated against.”

“It was stupid,” she said. “I completely regret that I handled that so poorly. It was completely stress-related, and I should have never confronted her. That was a mistake, a complete mistake. Please don’t make me sound horrible.”

Tisha Campbell-Martin Accuses Duane Martin Of Hiding Money During Their Marriage

Tisha Campbell-Martin‘s split from Duane Martin just got even nastier.

The “Martin” star has filed new court documents accusing her estranged husband of hiding and misappropriating funds during their marriage and she’s asking a judge to make him cough up the cash.

It’s unclear exactly how much money Tisha is accusing Duane of hiding, but we all know they hid money from their creditors and ended up filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2016 because they were $15 million deep in debt.

Yes Folks, 'The Conners' will be happening, without Roseanne Barr

Just a few weeks after canceling "Roseanne" after the show's star Roseanne Barr posted racist and bizarre tweets, ABC says it is keeping the show alive -- without Barr.

"The Conners" is the working title of the re-rebooted sitcom.

It will be a "spinoff" of "Roseanne," the network announced Thursday night.

"Roseanne Barr will have no financial or creative involvement in the new series," ABC said in a press release.

ABC and the show's production company, Carsey Werner, had been working behind the scenes to strike this deal ever since "Roseanne" was canceled on May 29.

The talks were tricky because of thorny contracts, some of which were signed many years ago when the original "Roseanne" television show was on the air.

ABC revived the show to great fanfare earlier this year, and it instantly became the No. 1 new show of the television season.

But Barr's controversial behavior on Twitter was a constant headache for ABC. When she posted a racist comment about Valerie Jarrett and offensive comments about Chelsea Clinton and other political figures, the network decided it had to cancel the show.

The swift cancellation stunned the TV industry. The show's writers were just about to return to work on the second season. ABC executives were out selling the new season to potential advertisers.

But the executives in charge of ABC and its parent company, Disney, felt that they had no choice but to cut ties with Barr.

And in the heat of the moment, there was no time to strike a deal for a Barr-less version of the show.

There were immediate regrets about the potential loss of 200-plus jobs. And there were almost immediate talks about some kind of possible revival.

Sure enough, "Roseanne" co-stars like John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert were all interested in keeping the show going in some fashion.

In a joint statement on Thursday, the remaining cast members said, "We have received a tremendous amount of support from fans of our show, and it's clear that these characters not only have a place in our hearts, but in the hearts and homes of our audience."

Now they'll be back at work soon. ABC ordered ten episodes of the new show.

The network said it'll occupy the same time slot, Tuesdays at 8 p.m., that "Roseanne" would have had in the fall.

For now, the premiere date is vague -- just "fall 2018," according to the network.

In a new statement on Thursday night, Barr said she regrets "the circumstances that have caused me to be removed" from her show.

"I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved," she said.

Whitney Houston's Former Agent Breaks Silence at Documentary Screening

The folks over at The Hollywood Reporter went inside a VIP screening of Kevin Macdonald's documentary hosted by Lena Waithe and Justin Simien and also attended by Donald Glover, Robert Pattinson and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Just as the credits started rolling, RuPaul Charles bolted for the exit to WME’s Beverly Hills screening room, too emotional to hang out in the lobby for the reception. Laverne Cox stayed but first had to run to the restroom to dry her eyes. Donald Glover, in gray sweatpants, hovered in a corner, sharing his reactions with screening hosts Lena Waithe and Justin Simien.

Filmmaker Kevin Macdonald’s Whitney documentary screened Friday night for the first time on the West Coast since its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival May 16, and despite the starry names in attendance — Robert Pattinson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Daniel Kaluuya, Lil Rel Howery, Tika Sumpter and EJ Johnson were also on hand — it felt less like a scene and more an experience. Like a cathartic therapy session.

“It was brilliant,” Lee Daniels told The Hollywood Reporter. "Because it was so personal.” Revelatory, too.

Macdonald, for the first time, uncovers through interviews with Houston's family members and inner circle that the superstar singer suffered sexual abuse when she was a child and that the perpetrator was female cousin Dee Dee Warwick. (She died in 2008.) The trauma of that mixed with family drama like her parents' respective affairs and divorce, a lesbian relationship with best friend Robyn Crawford that was never truly accepted by her church-going family, and a turbulent marriage to Bobby Brown all seemed to haunt Houston for most of her life, those close to her say.

The bombshells and the shade — Houston and her mother both dis performers Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul — have already garnered a fair share of headlines coming out of Cannes. Though it's nothing compared to the media's coverage of Houston's demons and downward spiral. But Simien says he only feels like leaning into her story more now after seeing the doc.

"Seeing the demons, it didn't make me want to distance myself from Whitney Houston, it made me love her more," Simien explained in the lobby afterwards. "Here you have folks that grew up with her; she means so much to us. A lot of us here are in the nexus of entertainment so we are understanding aspects of this film and her story on a personal level that we didn’t before. What’s so profound about it is that it’s not just about her, its about the bigger picture too. Everyone here is starving for that kind of content that tells the truth on a bigger scale. [The film] played amazingly well tonight."

This screening had the distinction for hosting some of the contributors who appear in the Roadside Attractions/Miramax release, many of whom were seeing it for the first time. Music producer, composer and author Rickey Minor, A&R veteran Joey Arbagey, writer Cinque Henderson, and former Brownstone executive (turned psychotherapist) Steve Lapuk. Waithe mentioned Minor in particular as he is the one in the film who addresses Houston's sexual fluidity.

"I love what Rickey Minor said about the fluidity. I just wish she had a freedom to explore who she was. I wish she didn’t think she had to hide. I wish we could’ve loved all of her and not just the pieces of her that made us feel comfortable," Waithe continued.

The film also addresses the tricky balancing act that Houston was forced to walk because of discrimination she faced, including from black audiences. (Reverend Al Sharpton led a boycott against the singer, calling her "Whitey Houston.") That, and her struggle with her own queerness, revelations which felt even more profound sitting in a theater with queer content creators like Waithe, RuPaul and Daniels, and creators like Glover. Each have contributed work about what it means to be black in America.

It’s said the film is "haunting" and "richly contextualized." "Without sensationalizing, the film lays all this out as an American tragedy, not of self-sabotage as some might glibly dismiss it, but the tale of a vulnerable woman never given the chance simply to figure out who she was. Whitney’s agent Nicole David told the filmmaker that she never really got the "why" of what happened to her despite the fact that she felt like she knew her so well. She also said "I was Whitney’s agent but I loved Whitney," David said the screening. "If I represent someone, I have to love them to do a good job. That’s why I was an agent. I was sick of having her be a tabloid sensation and always looking like this beautiful girl with a great voice that God gave everything to [who] just messed it all up and became a junkie. I thought that story was not true, and I knew there was a lot more."

David serves as an executive producer on the film and she teases that there's even more to Houston's story "than you've seen tonight." She credited Macdonald for piecing together a challenging puzzle by convincing many of Houston's family members to talk. He could not, however, convince Crawford to sit for an interview.

"I always knew that there was a pain in Whitney that I could not identify, which is part of the reason I worked with her. I saw fragility," David continued. "I feel I know many more facts now. Whitney’s soul I always knew. You know, some people you can look at for 20 years and they never let you see them, but she couldn’t help it. I saw her and I loved her. This gave me more facts, but it does not change how much I love her."

David also addressed the controversy surrounding Kanye West purchasing an image from Houston's drug- and trash-filled bathroom to put on the cover of rapper Pusha T's Daytona album cover. "It was tacky and thoughtless," she said. "With Kanye, I didn’t judge it too much. He is where he is in life, and he doesn’t need me to judge him because everybody is judging him, and I don’t know his story any more than people knew Whitney’s story."

Added Simien: "I don’t know what the intention in buying that photo was. It's an image I don’t need to see again. I know exactly what it conjures. Procuring that painful frame, I don’t know what the purpose behind that would be, for me in my life, but you know, we all participated. I feel this way about Whitney, I feel this way about Michael [Jackson] — we all participated to some degree.

He then mentioned a sketch that appears in the film from Saturday Night Live, one that is paired with another from American Dad, both of which took aim at Houston's substance abuse and which now are viewed through a different lens. Needless to say, no audience members laughed during the screening when those clips aired in the documentary. However, at least a dozen audience members laughed out loud with Houston's label boss, veteran music industry heavy weight L.A. Reid, insisted on camera that he did not know anything about her substance abuse problem despite the fact that she was under his employment at the time.

"I remember that sketch, I remember thinking in the back of my mind that none of the laughter would get to Whitney because she’s Whitney," Simien concluded. "We put these people in like a God-like place, and we think they’re impervious, but we’re complicit because we all consumed it."

When people consume this film, Simien said, he hopes that viewers take in the "bravura filmmaking."

"The editing and the sound design and the way he culled his images," he explained. "He used images that are 'typical documentary' images, and I would never think to put those things together. He told us about her, he told us about her place in the culture, what she meant to blackness, what she meant to whiteness. But then it also told this very personal story. It's what we try to do on [Dear White People]: You try to tell a big story and a small story, and this wasn’t just a biopic, it also had the story of black entertainment and black culture. It is so profound."

California Billboard Credits ICE With Making ‘Kids Disappear’

Activists in California altered a billboard on a busy highway to remind citizens what the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s priorities are all about.

 “We make kids disappear’ - I.C.E.” the billboard, changed Wednesday night, reads on Emeryville’s Shellmound St, referring to the U.S. law enforcement agency by its acronym. It previously read “We Make Junk Disappear” for an ad for trash removal, CBS San Fransisco reported.

Activist group Indecline created the new piece as a response to the separation of children from their parents along the U.S.-Mexico border. It also refers to the migrant child detention centers springing up across the country.

Spokesman Heran Medhin said the billboard is an attempt to publicly condemn President Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policies. He also cited the president’s “willingness to inflict immense trauma on young children and their families under his banner of xenophobia” in a statement to the Washington Post.

Thousands of children are still detained across the U.S. despite Trump’s executive order signed on Wednesday that has put a halt to the separations. In just one Texas facility, nearly 1,500 children are being kept in cages. At other facilities, journalists and politicians who want to view the conditions inside have been turned away.

“I think it’s a pretty powerful political statement,” Medhin said. “I think ultimately we have to be concerned with children. They didn’t do anything to deserve to be separated from their parents.”

‘Storm Chasers’ star Joel Taylor’s cause of death released

“Storm Chasers” star Joel Taylor’s cause of death has been revealed.

According to toxicology reports obtained by TMZ from the Bureau of Forensic Sciences of Puerto Rico, the 38-year-old died from MDMA poisoning. Traces of ketamine were also found in his system.

Taylor died in January abroad the Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas cruise. He was found dead in his room when the ship docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

TMZ reported at the time that before the boat’s departure, some people were arrested for drug possession at the port in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Taylor starred on “Storm Chasers,” a series which followed tornadoes in Tornado Alley, along with his friend Reed Timmer during the show’s run from 2007-2012.
