The Daily Buzz For March 29 ☕📰☕

Priyanka Chopra Stuns On Cover Of ELLE Canada, Says She’s Determined To ‘Find Herself’!
Priyanka Chopra does not hold back in her brand new interview for the May issue of ELLE Canada, with her discussing everything from the secret to getting over failure to how she stays ambitious.
The 35-year-old actress, who is also a Bollywood star, a Miss World winner, and a singer, looks as stunning as ever on the cover of the latest issue of the mag, and she makes sure to promote self-confidence in the accompanying chat.

Chopra, who has been a part of the industry for almost two decades, explains in “I’ve been in this business for 18 years now, and you reach a point where you know what you’re doing. I don’t want that.”

The star adds that she wants to continue to challenge herself, telling the publication, “I want to refine myself artistically and find my new creative voice, my evolved voice. I’m on a quest to do that, whether it’s as a producer, a writer, an actor, or a musician. I’m on a ‘find myself’ sort of journey.”

Chopra, who is now starring in the TV thriller “Quantico”, discusses the fact that females will see other females in magazines and automatically want to be them.

However, she insists: “When you see Bruce Willis saving the world and blowing up helicopters in a crisp white shirt, men don’t ask why you’re setting a standard for men to look like that. Why do women have to feel that way about it?”
“Seeing a pretty girl shouldn’t make us feel bad about ourselves. When I was younger, I didn’t see people who looked like me in magazines. That doesn’t mean I didn’t aspire to it. I got inspired by the other achievers I saw and made myself the best version of me,” Chopra shares.

#RHoA: Kandi Burruss Doesn’t Think She Can Restore Her Friendship With Kim Zolciak After Taping The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Reunion
Well at one point it seemed like there was hope for Kandi Burruss and Kim Zolciak to get their friendship back on track.
Apparently a lot went down between that time and the reunion because Kandi is singing a different tune these days – and it’s not to the “Tardy for the Party” melody.
Kandi discussed the episode in a Bravo blog post. Before discussing her lunch with Kim, Kandi addressed Mama Joyce’s secret meetup with Porsha Williams. Kandi very rarely negates anything her mother does, so her explanation was brief (as expected), but she did write, “I thought, ‘Why is she meeting with this girl behind my back? Why is she giving her a pass?'”

Because she hates Phaedra Parks and wants to put the blame on her (as Kandi theorized)? Because she wants camera time? Because she is thinking about the viewers and just wants to kill the Kandi vs. Porsha story line? Or maybe, just maybe, she really did have Kandi‘s best interests at heart. Crazier things have happened on this show.

Finally, Kandi got to her sit down with Kim. She shared, “It started off rocky but ended on a calm note.” How descriptive. When asked if she and Kim could ever be good friends again, Kandi answered, “Probably not.”
Kandi continued, “At the time that Kim and I had this sit down, I didn’t know about the things she’d said to Shereé [Whitfield] about me. That mixed with the reunion we just taped, I think it’s safe to say that we won’t be friendly anytime soon. Y’all will get it when you watch the reunion, so stay tuned!” I cannot wait for that reunion.

#EMPIRE: Tonight! Cookie is determined to rescue her ex-husband, but will she make it on time?
'I will slit her throat': Chilling moment Lucious's deranged nurse attacks Cookie as she races to rescue her ex in gripping new episode of Empire. Time is running out for Lucious Lyon and Cookie is on a mission to save him. But will she make it on time?
When a brand new episode of Empire airs this Wednesday March 28 8/7c on FOX we will see the terrifying moment Lucious's kidnapper brandishes a huge knife at Cookie before attacking her with an ax.

Cookie is racing against the clock to save her ex-husband from the deranged nurse Claudia, who has abducted Lucious and is holding him chained up in a remote cabin in the woods. And she isn't going to let him go easily.
At the end of the previous episode, before Empire took a winter hiatus, Claudia drugged Lucious, and she has now taken him far away from the Lyon family.
As Lucious desperately struggles to free himself from his chains, the nurse declares that she loves him and has no intention of setting him free.
But it seems that Claudia hasn't accounted for Cookie's fierce loyalty to her ex-husband. When she discovers Lucious is missing, Cookie decides that she has to save him.

At the end of Episode Nine, Lucious is stabbed with a needle and he wakes up strapped down to his hospital bed. He has been drugged by his nurse Claudia, who was helping him regain his memory after he was left in a coma by a car bomb. The crazed nurse has now taken Lucious to a remote cabin in the woods where she is holding him captive.
As she arrives to rescue her ex-husband from Claudia's clutches, she furiously spits at the crazed nurse: 'He belongs to ME.'
Claudia shows that she is willing to put up a vicious fight, and she wields both a knife and an ax as she savagely battles Cookie in the fight for Lucious.
But even if Cookie can wrench him from Claudia's tortuous grasp, what will this mean for them as a couple? And for the Lyon family as a whole?

Over the past four seasons, we have watched Cookie and Lucious grapple with their turbulent relationship as they battle for control over Empire Entertainment and navigate their dysfunctional family dynamic.
Before he was kidnapped, Lucious, who is still fighting to regain his memory after the car bomb left him in a coma, and Cookie confess that they still love one another.
But during the fall finale when Lucious told his ex-wife that she either needed to move back into his bedroom or move out of their home, Cookie opted to leave the house.
With this explosive first episode, Empire is back on FOX on Wednesday for a nine-week run, and it promises to deliver all the wild, edge-of-your-seat drama and heat-stopping moments we've come to expect from the show.

Watch the spring premiere of Empire TONIGHT at 8/7c on FOX.

#HARMONIZERS: Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui is Stripping Down for Playboy!
Lauren Jauregui is getting super intimate now that she’s on her break from Fifth Harmony.
The pop-star did a photoshoot with Playboy and said, “Right now, I’m just exploring myself and getting in touch with myself creatively.”
21-year-old Jauregui wore a nude-colored mesh bodysuit and spoke about her next moves after Fifth Harmony announced an “indefinite hiatus.”  She didn’t reveal if she’s planning on a new album, but just that “To be real, I don’t want to give myself boundaries.”

Roseanne Barr isn’t having it from you Wendy Williams. She clapped back: ‘I don’t like talking about husbands. Right, Wendy?’
Ms. Wendy Williams tries to shade guest Roseanne Barr on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’. And, Roseanne Barr claps back…

Roseanne Barr visits Wendy to promote  Roseanne’s reboot.
Wendy brings up Roseanne Barr ex. husband and it went down from there.
Wendy starts off, “Remember they were married at a moment. [Tom Arnold] was given an assignment from The Hollywood Reporter to review  Roseanne’s debut last night. The shade of it all.

Roseanne says, ………”I don’t feel like talking about husbands. Right Wendy?  BOOM!!!

Wendy responds, “Well, I don’t mind talking about husbands. He’s fabulous.” HUH? I’m not sure if Williams has another husband she’s referring to somewhere, or if she means Kevin Hunter, the man who’s been suspected of dipping many times with Sharina Hudson, is the fabulous husband she was referring to.

The Daily Mail reported that Hunter, who manages Williams’ career and runs a production company jointly with her, had been hooking up with 32-year-old massage therapist Sharina Hudson for the past ten years and that he moved her into a $765,000 home just miles away from where he lives with Williams.

The site reported a source as saying of the affair, “Kevin is with Sharina three or four times a week, often staying over. They go to the gym together, they go out to restaurants together as if they’re a normal couple. But then he goes home to Wendy as if everything is normal there, too. He’s living a double life.”

While Williams was trying to stir up tea on Barr, Roseanne clapped back and obviously she’s been keeping up a scorebook about Williams’ affairs.

Barr came to play today Wendy! Come correct or don’t come at all!

Mariah Carey Spends her Birthday at Disneyland with the kids!
Mariah Carey proved to be every inch the doting mother on Tuesday, as she chose to celebrate her birthday at Disneyland with her kids Moroccan and Monroe, six.
The singer, 48, was seen beaming with delight as she pushed her mini-me daughter along in a pram, as she explored the park with her brood. The group were seen riding the Guardians of The Galaxy and Soaring Over The World ride, before they joined Mariah's beau Bryan Tanaka later on for refreshments.

Happy Birthdfay MiMi.

#ROSEANNREBOOT! Roseanne reviews are in, and it sounds like the revival is OK!
Last night marks the return of Roseanne to US TV screens and it sounds like the revival has been worth the wait, on the whole.

With the first reviews coming in, the tenth season of the sitcom – which will retcon that controversial swansong – stands at a respectable 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and has received mostly favourable reviews.

We've rounded up some of the biggest ones below.

EW: "But maybe it's okay to admit that a group of talented actors and writers – and their fans – just want to revisit the good old days. So is this Roseanne revival necessary? Probably not. But it's still real nice to have the Conners back."

Forbes: "Maybe there's an audience for the new Roseanne, but it's not an audience that's going to keep it on the air long term. Not in an age where the story the show is trying to tell is done so much better on series like Speechless and Atlanta."

The Hollywood Reporter: "Enough shows are following in its convention-rejecting footsteps that Roseanne almost is left looking like the conventional one. That's why the 'I like Roseanne, but I don't know if I can deal with the Trump stuff' is such a strange worry. That Roseanne can still make you squirm, just a little, is proof that it's still Roseanne."

Variety: "Unfortunately, the revived series is a bit rough around the edges. Not in terms of its humor or content, which are remarkably well-adapted for a modern audience, but in terms of its pure execution; it's undoubtedly quite difficult to return to the rhythms of a sitcom that debuted 29 years ago."

Vulture: "In other important ways, Roseanne hasn't changed at all. It is still funny in the same ways it was always funny, using classic sitcom jokes and storylines to highlight issues of class."

Deadline: "With the glorious exception of Gilbert as the still acerbic but now cowered Darlene, most of the cast seem to be speed dialing in their performances. As if this was a Roseanne tribute and not a reunion of the original band, eyelines and attention spans are all over the place as if looking for cue cards."

Lil Wayne & Birdman ARE STILL AT WAR! And it’s Is ‘Hostile’
Lil Wayne and Birdman may appear to be best buds again in the club, but they are far from burying any sort of hatchet as their legal battle continues to rage on.

Sources very close to the case says that litigation between Birdman and Weezy is extremely “bitter,” and the time recently spent together at the clubs in Miami has not solved a thing.
One person very familiar with the negotiations tell us Cash Money has been “hostile” during the ongoing settlement discussions, and believe that after everything is resolved “There will be no connection, no ties and no business relationship” between the two hip-hop moguls.

According to documents obtained by the TMZ breakaway blog The Blast, Birdman and Cash Money have now been ordered to hand over key documents in the $51 million lawsuit, especially those related to Nicki Minaj and Drake.

Wayne is very confident he will prevail over Birdman and collect his money, and a little time spent together at the club isn’t going to change that.

Tamar Braxton wore wigs because Vince liked blondes with fair-skin
Tamar Braxton recently shocked her fans after revealing her new look. After years of wearing weaves and wigs, Braxton decided to shave her head.
On March 14, Braxton shared a video on Instagram that showed her getting a haircut. The caption stated, “Finally free.” Hours later, Braxton revealed her new shaved look in a photo that was enhanced by filters.

The caption on the photo stated, “I’m over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings! WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY #happysttamarsday.”
During an episode of “The Steve Harvey Show,” Braxton revealed that she wore wigs to appease Vince Herbert because he likes women with fair skin and blonde hair.
“I believe in being attractive for your mate,” Braxton said. “I used to have all blonde wigs; I have 150,000 of them at my house since I shaved my hair off. They’re all on sale, by the way. Vince likes blonde hair, light-faired women. For me, I just think that’s a responsibility that women have, to stay current for your man.”

Now that she and Vince are reportedly separated, Braxton has decided to play by her own rules when it comes to her hair and style.

#RHOA: Phaedra Does Not Think Kenya Moore’s Apology Was Sincere To Kim or Cynthia
Phaedra Parks attended her first couple’s trip as a single woman, and she had a great time in Jamaica on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Phaedra managed to stay out of the drama and enjoy herself, which left a lot of time for laughing and impressions. Phaedra and Nene performed a sketch of how Kim should approach Kenya, and from her past experience Phaedra had a lot of material to work with. Phaedra had fans laughing out loud this week, and its great to see how far she’s come since her fallout with Apollo. This week in her Bravo Blog Phaedra weighs in on Kenya’s apologies and dishes on her favorite RHOA cast trips!

Bravotv.com: How do you feel about the possibility of Sheree and Bob getting back together?

Phaedra Parks: I’ve known Sheree and Bob for years. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for both of them. Bob is super smart and extremely witty. Sheree is a great mother and a tough cookie! I’ve always felt that the true measure of a man is not based on the mistakes he has made, but how he evolves from those mistakes and becomes a better person. Bob seems to genuinely care about Sheree and is working on bettering himself for the sake of a possible future together. It’s very easy to throw the past in someone’s face, but I think it is more important for people to work towards the future. Everybody knows that every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.

Bravotv.com: Do you think Kenya was sincere in her apologies to Kim and Cynthia?
PP: No, but that is not my story to tell. Time will tell whether or not the apology was sincere. Actions always speak louder than words.

Bravotv.com: Among all of the trips you’ve taken with these ladies, where does this one fall on the list in terms of your favorites?
PP: I would rate this trip in the top three. My all-time favorite trip was when I took the ladies to Africa. My second favorite trip was to the Million Man March in Washington, D.C. Our Jamaica trip is in a close tie with the Philippines. I enjoy our trips most when there is a philanthropic element and we are able to truly appreciate the culture.

Xoxo,
Phaedra

Thoughts on Phaedra’s blog? Did you enjoy her on the RHOA cast trip? Do you think Sheree and Bob should get back together? What about Kenya’s apologies; do you think either of them were sincere?

America's Next Top Model Is Coming Back—Without Tyra Banks
Well, that didn't take long!  It's only been four months since Tyra Banks announced the end of America's Next Top Model, and the reality modeling competition is already getting a revival. VH1 announced that it is reinventing the show and bringing it back to New York City for a 14-episode season.

And no, Tyra herself will not be continuing on in the hopes of becoming America's Next Top Model. Not as host, at least. The creator is still serving as executive producer, but she'll stay involved behind the scenes for the new installment.

"After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn," Banks said in a statement. "I will continue as executive producer, but must turn my attention to new business endeavors, so I want to find a new host.  I'm pumped to identify that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!"
Banks announced her landmark series would end after Cycle 22, which saw Nyle DiMarco crowned winner—the first deaf winner and second male winner in ANTM history.

"We're thrilled to bring America's Next Top Model back to VH1 and partner with CBS Television Distribution and Tyra Banks to reinvent this franchise for a whole new generation," Chris McCarthy, General Manager of VH1, said in a statement announcing the news. "This is a homecoming for the series, as VH1 helped catapult the show to cultural icon status as the first cable network to air the show after it launched."

A new host, cast and premiere date will be announced in the coming months.

Nike Plans To Retro Every Kobe Bryant Signature Sneaker This Year
If you missed out on the Nike Kobe 1 through 10, you're in luck.
Kobe Bryant has been having what is probably the ideal finale season, at least in terms of the respect he’s getting. His on-court play hasn’t been anything to write home about, but he’s exhibited poise as every team pays homage to the legendary Los Angeles Laker, most recently getting a personal video tribute from his former teammate Pau Gasol during a trip to Chicago. Kobe has also been giving out his sneakers left and right to younger players, but now Nike wants to give fans a chance to get in on the Kobe Bryant Farewell Tour™.

Nike’s Kobe sneaker line has been extremely successful for the brand, and to commemorate the shoe’s namesake, they’re going to release a retro of every Nike Kobe sneaker that’s released since the line’s inception. Nike has been listening to fans, because they’re also including the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4, not part of the signature sneaker line, but widely considered to be his first “unofficial” signature sneaker.

Called the “Fade to Black” collection, each sneaker will be priced at $200. The colors look like they will start off pure white with the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 and then will slowly transition to darker colors until the Kobe 11, which will be all black. It’s a great motif. Celebrating and honoring the best of gospel music’s artists, writers and industry professionals, the Stellar Awards also honored Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago’s “Any Given Sunday” with four awards, with Tasha Cobbs rounding out the top three recipients with three honors for her album “One Place Live.”
Hosted by comedian and syndicated radio and TV personality Rickey Smiley and actress and TV personality Sherri Shepherd, the 31st Annual Stellar  Awards – the biggest night in Gospel Music – premieres on TV One on Sunday, March 6 at 6 p.m. ET with encores at 8 p.m. & 10 p.m. ET.
The two-hour taped telecast, produced by Central City Productions, will also be broadcast in syndication on 150 stations in more than 125 markets throughout the country from March 12-April 10.
Grammy-nominated Anthony Brown & group therapy kicked-off the 31st Annual Stellar gospel Music Awards with a spirited, crowd-pleasing medley consisting of “Bless the Lord” and their Billboard gospel Airplay chart-topping hit “Worth.” Their performance brought the packed house to their feet demonstrating why they garnered top honors with 10 wins.

Jordin Sparks’ Relationship With Sage The Gemini: All For Show?!
Tinseltown romance is always tricky, and it sounds like Sage the Gemini only dated Jordin Sparks to help boost his album sales.
On Monday (February 22) Sage’s ex-fiancée Curium Hurley leaked a phone conversation she had with her former man- "Everything was f--kin' horrible,” says Gemini. “That s--t was f--king dumb. She got on my nerves. I wanted to stab her. All of that s--t. Don't get me wrong, she's cool, she's level-headed, whatever, but she's not no regular person . . . Everybody on the outside looking in [thinks] it's hella perfect."

Sage also explained how he was scolded for removing a photo of Sparks from his social media accounts- "My manager was like, 'No, bring it back. How the hell are you going to sell the album?'" However, last week, Gemini posted a message via Instagram in an effort to patch things up with Jordin- "I miss you too much. To watch you look so amazing at the [Clive] Davis [pre-Grammys] party and not be able to call you and express how much I appreciated the look because you won’t answer nor text back. The feeling is horrible." So far, Sparks has remained silent.

Chanel Iman Talks ‘Sports Illustrated,’ Being An African American Woman In The Modeling Industry & Beyoncé With ESSENCE
Chanel Iman stuns on the pages of Sports Illustrated’s newest swimsuit issue. The gorgeous 25-year-old model poses with pythons in one photo, and is also snapped alongside Maasai warriors in another.
ESSENCE recently caught up with Chanel to talk everything from being an African American woman in the modeling industry to why Beyoncé is so special to her.

“I feel very blessed to be one of the Sports Illustrated girls this year,” she says of her feature in the issue. “Sports Illustrated gives us models a voice and the opportunity to venture out and do our own thing. It’s just one of those things that you pray that you get and when it comes you’re very grateful for it.”
On being an African American woman in the industry, she says she feels a sense of responsibility:
I’m proud of being an African-American woman and I just feel like I represent our people and I just want to do my best and show the world that Black is beautiful as well. There are a lot of struggles that I have to deal with but that’s a part of it. For all of us. We have to fight so much harder but I think that’s what’s so amazing is that when we achieve something it’s that much more empowering to others.

On Beyonce coming to mind when she thinks of the magic of black women:
Beyoncé is always a significant moment for me. For her to have me in the ‘Yoncé’ video, I didn’t think that was possible. I was just a little girl listening to her music, pretending i was her, making up dance routines at a sleepover. I never knew that I would meet her, let alone be in her music video. And have her be a woman that supports me. She’s so special to me.
“Everything that she drops I get goosebumps,” Chanel says when talking Bey’s “Formation.” “I’m definitely in the Beyhive.” Well I’m not! LOL!
