#RHoA: Sheree Whitfield Weighs In On “Ups & Downs” Of RHOA Cast Throughout Season 9!

Sheree Whitfield has been through a lot on RHOA throughout the years, but somehow she has found peace with most of her Bravo frenemies. She’s a seasoned housewife with tons of insight, and recently she shared some of her knowledge with The Daily Dish!

The bond between Kandi Burruss Tucker, Phaedra Parks, and Porsha Williams has been broken, and she teased that even Phaedra and Porsha, “don’t always see eye-to-eye.” She shared some advice on how to deal with fractured friendships in the spotlight, and I’ll admit it, she has some wise words on this subject!

“You have to be able to know how to be a good friend to have a good friend,” Shereé asserted. Elaborating further, “So I definitely know that you have to be able to trust somebody, so if you don’t completely trust somebody then you guys can’t really move forward in that capacity because you don’t really think this person has your back 100 percent. Phaedra and Porsha, probably, I think friendships go through things — they’ll be OK.”

Sheree reiterated that her time away from RHOA really opened her eyes to the bigger picture, and I’m thinking all housewives could benefit from a Bravo break every now and then!

“Being away and coming back, you realize what’s important and what’s not important. You’re not always going to agree with everybody or some of the things that they do, but I’ve learned how to pick my battles. And backstabbing is just something I’ve never been a part of and I don’t want to be a part of it,” Sheree explained.

Sheree has already been through her fair share of drama during season 9, but she’s hoping that her comeback can shine light on the more important things; while many disagree, I do think Sheree has intended to be the “peace maker” several times. That being said, sometimes her delivery is way off!

“I want to say that I’m kind of facilitating something for these girls — like a conversation that needs to be had. They’re talking about each other behind each others’ backs and I’m kind of the voice of truth. So instead of being messy — some people say it’s messy — I think it’s just holding them accountable for their words. ‘You guys, get together, talk about it. We don’t all need to be there, but you guys need to have this conversation,’” she wrapped!

Taraji P. Henson and Jackie Chan Had the Sweetest Reunion on the Oscars Red Carpet

While you were ogling all of the gorgeous dresses on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday, you might have missed this adorably sweet moment between the gorgeous Taraji P. Henson and her former costar Jackie Chan. The actors starred together in the 2010 martial arts film The Karate Kid, a remake of the 1984 original. Jackie spotted Taraji, who was there with her Hidden Figures costars, as she strutted her way on the red carpet and immediately swooped in for a hug. Taraji, who was visibly shocked and excited, shouted, "Oh my God, it's so good to see you!"

New Music Video from Keyshia Cole feat. Remy Ma & French Montana – 'You'

You should know this by now, but don’t mess with Keyshia Cole!

The R&B vixen premieres the Benny Boom-directed music video for her comeback single “You” featuring Remy Ma and French Montana.  The visuals for the breakup anthem open with Keyshia talking to detectives (one played by producer Harmony Samuels), about the disappearance of her boyfriend, but it’s all in her plan, as KC has him tied up in her closet.

After smearing cake on his face and writing liar on his forehead with lipstick, she calls in Remy, who spits her slick verse while picking out tools to torture him with. Bound and tied to an office chair, Keyshia pushes him off the second story of her house into the pool. (Yikes!).  French shows up later to take the now ex-boyfriend, and the woman he cheated with, away in the trunk of his car, leaving them on a dark mountain road at night.

Keyshia is currently prepping for the release of her new album 1111 Reset, which is her first on Epic Records.

Hip Hop News: Lil’ Kim Teases ‘Ladies Night’ Remake with Remy Ma & Cardi B

Twenty years after the original dropped, Lil’ Kim has revealed plans for a remake of her “Ladies Night” classic.

Over the weekend, the Queen Bee performed at the “Hip-Hop & Soul” concert in Reading, Pa. During her set, she spoke about possibly uniting with Remy Ma and Cardi for a reboot of her female rap anthem “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)” from 1997’s Nothing to Lose soundtrack.

“Let me give a shout out to my beautiful sisters that were on this stage earlier,” Kim said at the concert, which also featured Remy and Cardi B. “Cardi B, that’s baby! Remy, bitch, I fucking love your ass. That’s my baby. Maybe y’all might see something in the future. How ’bout that? Another ‘Ladies Night.’ We might be due for that.”

The original “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix),” which samples Kool & the Gang’s 1979 hit, featured Da Brat, Angie Martinez, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

The remake could potentially include Trina, who voiced her support for the all-female collaboration last month.

“There’s so many girls but the platform is not there for this one to do a record with this one and for this to be a big collaboration,” she told Shade 45. “There’s nobody doing that. When there was ‘Ladies Night,’ there was Kim, Missy, Left Eye, Angie Martinez. That’s still one of the most amazing and best records, classic, of all times, but all females. I’m afraid to think we may never have another record like that.”

Remy reposted an excerpt from that interview on her now-private Instagram account last month, saying she was down for a “Ladies Night” revamp, adding hashtags like #ImWithIt and #2017LadiesNight.

Despite the talk of unity, there’s some division in hip-hop as Remy Ma delivered her vicious “shETHER” diss track over the weekend. Fans believe a Nicki Minaj response is set to follow. Meanwhile, Lil’ Kim has yet to settle her long-running feud with Nicki.

Remy Ma recently released her Plata O Plomo joint project with Fat Joe. Meanwhile, Kim is plotting her fifth studio album with a new single and fashion line due to arrive soon.

Halle Berry On Her Oscars Hair-Do: ‘I Celebrate My Natural Hair by Letting It Be Wild and Free’

During The 89th Academy Awards, Halle Berry turned heads as she debuted a new hair-do! She rocked a loose curl ‘do which she felt perfectly accented her Atelier Versace gown.

  “I have always marched to the beat of my own drum, and I think this red-carpet look encapsulates that,” Berry told Vogue.

The actress went on to explain that her gown made her feel “feminine and fresh” and that she wanted to “celebrate [her] natural hair by allowing it to be wild and free.” However, the internet had mixed emotions about her hair and expressed it through memes all night long.

The ‘All Def Movie Awards’ Ice Cube, Amber Rose, Mike Epps all snag one.

Russell Simmons’ second annual All Def Movie Awards returned Sunday night, showcasing the diversity in the movie industry. The unconventional ceremony was created in 2016, following the #OscarsSoWhite controversy. Hosted by Mike Epps, the ceremony aired on Fusion, in direct competition with the Oscar telecast over on ABC. During the ceremony, Simmons explained,

"It’s not that people are bad or racist or anything like that, but it’s that people aren’t sensing it. I don’t have anything against the Academy Awards, not at all. My judgment of them is not a dislike of the individuals, but it’s the infrastructure that they’re working on that needs change. They are aware of the change that needs to be done and they have to be insightful. We need everybody together making these choices because then we reflect America."

Some of the entertaining categories included the Best Smash In A Motion Picture, Most Out of Place White Person, Best Edges and Best Latino Not in a Service Industry Role.

Lauryn Hill Postpones Her Make-up Concert For The Show She Was 3 Hours Late For

Lauryn Hill has postponed a Pittsburgh concert that her camp had scheduled, to make up for the one last month that started more than three hours late. Reportedly, the show was set for Tuesday at the Byham Theater . However, it’s been moved to June 2, “due to a scheduling conflict.”

The singer made headlines on Jan. 31, when she appeared on stage at 11:20 p.m. for the show that was set to start at 8 p.m. Lauryn later addressed the situation. See her statement below.

Some attendees said the singer hit the stage just as fans began standing in line for refunds. One attendee slammed Hill after she finally appeared on stage.

Ravens Safety Matt Elam Busted for Allegedly Selling Drugs on the Side

*Baltimore Ravens safety Matt Elam was arrested on multiple drug charges in Miami stemming from a traffic stop on Saturday night (Feb. 24).

The 2013 first-round pick was charged with one count of cannabis possession, one count of possession of cannabis with intent to sell or deliver, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of reckless driving, police said.

According to ESPN.com, Elam was arrested at 7:16 p.m. Saturday after his blue Range Rover passed an unmarked police car “at a high rate of speed” and swerved into the lane in front of the police car, causing its driver to pump the brakes in order to avoid a collision, according to charging documents. He then almost struck vehicles in front of him by following too closely, according to police.

After police attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Elam sped up and failed to yield immediately “in attempt to evade detectives,” police said. Once Elam pulled over, police detected a strong odor of freshly burning marijuana and a big cloud of smoke emitting from inside the vehicle.

A search revealed a Gucci book bag on the floor of the driver’s side that included 126.2 grams of marijuana, six oxycodone pills weighing 3.1 grams, $947, a Rolex, a men’s necklace with white stones and a men’s bracelet with white stones.

One of Elam’s passengers, Calvin Stewart, possessed a loaded semi-automatic pistol in his waistband, and told the cops he did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Police said they were patrolling that neighborhood because of recent robberies and burglaries in the area.

The 32nd overall pick in the draft four years ago, Elam is scheduled to become a free agent next month. The Ravens declined to pick up his fifth-year option a year ago.

“We are aware of the arrest of Matt Elam,” the Ravens said in a statement. “Matt is not in our plans for the 2017 Ravens.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league was looking into the incident.

This arrests marks Elam’s second for substance-related incidents. In October 2015, he was suspended for one game for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. He had self-reported the violation, team officials said at the time.

According to ESPN.com, Elam has been one of the most disappointing first-round picks in Ravens history. He was benched from the starting lineup in the middle of the 2014 season after struggling to cover receivers deep and missing tackles. Elam played on special teams last season after being designated to return off injured reserve.

Twitter is outraged over this photo of Kellyanne Conway in the Oval Office, seemingly barefoot on a couch, while on her telephone.

The photo was snapped while Donald Trump met with leaders of historically black universities and colleges on Monday (February 27) in Washington, DC. A further examination of the photo reveals that Kellyanne is not actually barefoot.

Several celebrities and Twitter users took to social media to react to the moment after the photo began circulating online.

Charlize Theron Flashes Flesh On W Magazine May 2015 Cover

She certainly knows how to turn up the heat, and Charlize Theron is smoking (literally) in her new cover story for the May 2015 edition of W magazine.

Sporting plenty of Cartier bling, the 39-year-old “Italian Job” actress showcases her flawless physique in a series of snapshots taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

In her interview, Charlize discussed what it felt like to have a shaved head while filming her new flick “Mad Max: Fury Road”- “It was really fun to shower with my bald head. You have not showered until you’ve showered hairless. That’s all I have to say.”

Mary J. Blige Opens Up About Surviving Pain And Turmoil, in her documentary The London Sessions!

Last week, was the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of the documentary "The London Sessions" starring Mary J. Blige. The 45-film documents the recording of Mary's 13th album, which took place in the UK with the help of Sam Smith, Disclosure, Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy, and Sam Romans.

Mary sat down with NBCBLK to talk about the film, the years of drama and turmoil she survived and what's next for the Queen Of Hip Hop Soul. Here are the highlights:

On public fallout from her eviction, the "Crisy Chicken" song, and financial impropriety with her philanthropic endeavors:

"Well, I don't really know why a lot of it was happening...it was just time for it to happen and it was time for it to happen to me, so it could push me to another level and another place.'

Taking responsibility for her own mistakes...

"It was a disastrous," Blige, 44, added — owning up to her accountability. "And a lot of it came from not paying attention; a lot of it came from just trusting the wrong people. And it was a wake up call, it was a huge humongous wake up call for me to say 'Look, you don't need any of these people around and I'm going to make sure that you see how fast they run when this happens.' And it was just the biggest wake up call ever."

On being grateful for her struggles...

"I'm grateful for it though and it hurt like hell because it was public and it all over and I was like 'good Lord.' It was very, very painful because back in the day, I've been through hell but with today's social media and the news and it was something so big and disastrous it had to be for something good."

"And when you see the amount of it, you get to see exactly who you are. And it's how you respond to it or react. And what I learned is that I really respond well because I don't pay it any mind but the fact is that a lot of it hurt. But at the end of the day, you wont know it hurts. So, I just learned my strength in that. I learned my weaknesses and it's a whole other level from back in the days. I'm somewhere else in my life. It's a whole other strength that I learned that I had."

Apollo Nida : I still HAVE NOT seen my KIDS! Bring me MY KIDS!

It’s been months since Apollo Nida checked into a Kentucky prison to serve his eight-year sentence over fraud charges, and ever since then he’s been complaining that his estranged wife, Phaedra Parks, has been keeping his sons away from him. Although Parks has claimed that she and Nida are on better terms now, Nida is, once again, claiming that he still hasn’t seen his sons yet.

In a new interview with Life & Style, Nida claimed that he’s baffled as to why Parks won’t let his sons visit him in prison.

“I’ve told her I really need to see them and that I need that support,” Nida said. “But it’s still up in the air. It’s as if I have to jump through hoops from behind bars.”

Nida explained that sons talk to him on the phone, but says that the distance between them is taking a toll on them mentally.

“It makes them sad that Daddy isn’t home with them,” Nida said.

Clearly, Nida and Parks still aren’t seeing eye to eye these days. We just hope these two, despite what their history shows, are acting in the best interests of their children and not in the best interest or themselves.

Someone hacked PRINCE’s Facebook Account!

As someone who’s notoriously shunned technology, it was rather shocking when Prince decided to join Facebook and host a fan Q&A last October. His interest waned relatively quickly however, as he deleted the page after answering just one question. This morning, Prince’s Facebook page was re-activated with a pair of messages promising new music.

Sadly, it appears the real Prince was not the one behind these postings, but rather a hacker who managed to guess his password (‘Purple’, ‘Pancakes’, ‘New Girl’?). Either that, or Prince was feeling particularly self-depreciating — and hungry.

NEW COUPLE ALERT?! Ciara and Seattle Seahawks Ruseell Wilson?

Hmm…is Ciara still a single lady? She was spotted spending time with Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson over the weekend. While we believe Ciara is a single lady these days (after calling it quits with her baby daddy Future last summer), it appears she may be hopping back in the dating pool.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hit up the Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers baseball game at Safeco Field in Seattle. And it appears that he brought Ciara along for a home run…we mean, a fun day out at the field. Nothing wrong with that. Russell's a single man after he filed for divorce from his wife of two years in April 2014.

If the twosome are an item, we see this as an upgrade...for both. If not, nothing wrong with having friends.

SORRY FOLKS, Bobbi Kristina Is Not Awake, Still In Coma

It has been nearly three months since Bobbi Kristina has been in a coma and according to her father Bobby Brown, he and Whitney Houston’s only child together is “awake.”

During the singer’s show over the weekend at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, Bobby told the crowd that Krissi “is awake” and that “she’s watching me.”

BK’s aunt, Tina Brown also said on Facebook that Bobbi “woke up and is no longer on life support.”

But we learned today that the 22-year-old has not awaken and that she is still is in a coma. Sources close to the family tell Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier that BK has not been responsive, which contradicts what Brown said on stage.

Bobbi was found unconscious, face down in a bathtub full of water on January 31 inside her Roswell, GA home. The 22-year-old has been fighting for her life at undisclosed location in Atlanta.

Last month, during an exclusive radio interview with New York’s WBLS, BK’s grandmother Cissy Houston expressed that that there is “no great deal of hope” for Krissi. “So I’m asking everyone to pray to the Lord,” Houston said. “Who we know can do something about it. If he works a miracle, thank God. If it happens the other way, I’m all right.”

White Cops & Officials Resign After Town Elects First Black Woman Mayor

Tyrus Byrd was elected as the first Black female mayor of Parma, a small city in Missouri. After her win and swearing in last Tuesday, much of Parma’s police force and several city official mysteriously quit their jobs.

Local outlet KFVS highlighted Byrd’s election and subsequent issues with city management in a report last week that was later updated Monday (April 20) morning. Outgoing mayor Randall Ramsey held the post for 37 years and was the first to announce the exodus of city staff. According to Ramsey, five of Parma’s six police officers, the city’s attorney, the city clerk, and the waste water treatment plant supervisor all handed in resignation letters citing “safety concerns.”

Just two of the outgoing officers were full-time while the three others were part-time reports local outlet WSMV. Adding to the abrupt nature of the firing, Mayor Elect Byrd tried to access the resignation letters and look into the concerns of safety but the computers were cleared of its former documents once she came into office. Byrd, who was born and raised in Parma, was once the city’s clerk as well and vowed to do her best to keep the city clean and intact.

City residents reacted to the walk-outs but stressed that Parma didn’t need that large of a police force and that they will give Byrd a chance to turn things around.

WSMV reports:

Some say they’re not worried about their safety and it wasn’t necessary to have that many on staff for a city the size of Parma.

Some say they’re relieved about the situation and that Parma doesn’t have that many problems in town to require so many officers.

“I think it was pretty dirty the way they all quit without giving her a chance, but I don’t think they hurt the town with quitting because who needs six police for 740 people?” said Martha Miller of Parma.

Ironically, Mayor Ramsey lost the election by 37 votes, one vote for each year he held office.

‘Mortal Kombat’ debuts 1st gay character

NetherRealm studios released the highly anticipated 10th edition of their acclaimed Mortal Kombat game series, and, of course, fans have been buzzing about every imaginable detail of the game. And one of those details is the fact that series just debuted its first gay male character with Mortal Kombat X’s Kung Jin.

According to IGN, the revelation about King Jin’s sexuality comes via a flashback scene, in which the thief-turned-shaolin monk has a conversation with Raiden who tries to convince him to become a warrior monk.

“Self-loathing has always been an unfortunate part of your makeup,” Raiden says.

Later, the thunder god tries to get Kung Jin to follow in his ancestors’ footsteps and become a warrior monk, like veteran character Kung Lao. However, Kung Jin thinks his sexuality won’t be accepted.

“I can’t … They won’t accept …,” Kung Jin says, sadly.

“They care about only what is in your heart; not whom your heart desires,” Raiden replies.

If any fans were still unsure about Kung Jin’s sexuality, Dominic Cianciolo, cinematic director of NetherRealm Studios, sent out a tweet confirming that the character is gay.

And we’re glad that NetherRealm Studios has debuted a gay character in the biggest game of the franchise’s history, helping to further pave the way for greater inclusion of LGBT characters in the gaming world.

Shocking Instagram account of 13-year-old boy shows weed and guns

There is a place for social media in the lives of teenagers. But one particular teenager from Memphis, Tennessee, posted images that show the life of a troubled child. This particular young man decided to show what his life centers around — weed, guns and negativity. The teen, who is only identified by the name Jonathan, posted disturbing images of him holding a gun, smoking weed and acting like a typical thug. But before you criticize this young man’s behavior, one has to ask where are his parents or older siblings?

The answer to that question is tragic, because an older brother was killed by gun violence and his older sister is in jail on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping and firearms charges. His family claims they were unaware of Jonathan’s activities until they were exposed by local media. Despite his disturbing online behavior, Jonathan had close to 12,000 social media followers on Instagram making him a very popular young teenager.  When he was asked by a local reporter why he posted these images, the aspiring young rapper, whose posted lyrics include “Fifty shot, thirty shot, hit you with it … F— yo Glock. I bet I make your heart stop,” had a not-so-surprising response. Apparently, he was imitating his favorite rapper and stated, “Chief Keef got famous from that, right?”

Like many Black youngsters he was influenced by the music and imagery of the time and had little to no guidance in his home life.  Since the story broke his family has stated they were upset and subsequently both his Twitter and Instagram accounts have been deleted. The question now becomes who is more to blame here? Certainly not Chief Keef. Somehow young Jonathan was given access to a handgun and what appears to be pot. That means it was someone close to this young man who decided to give him help as a young thug in training.

Ariana Grande & Big Sean: Lovers No More!

They’re both on their own respective career upswings, and it turns out Ariana Grande and Big Sean just don’t have time for each other.

The “Problem” songstress and her handsome boyfriend have reportedly split up, with their reps telling GossipCop, “They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends. We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time.”

Back in January, Big Sean told press, “We started as friends. I’d never done that. Usually you meet a girl and then start dating. We always saw each other in the studio, and we’d talk about songs we were working on. It was cool to have a girl that I could talk to about my problems. I did that with her… This is something special and I appreciate every moment of it.”

Actor Ben Powers, best known for his role as Keith on 1970s TV sitcom Good Times, died on April 6 in New Bedford, Mass. An obituary did not reveal the cause of death. He was 64.

Powers was a standup comedian who made guest appearances on TV sitcoms Laverne & Shirley, Gimme a Break and The New Odd Couple, before landing his Good Times role.

Powers, who played a professional football player on Good Times, married Thelma Evans (Bern Nadette Stanis) in the 3rd season of the show.

Powers’ character Keith had plans to move Thelma out of the Chicago housing projects. But on their way down the aisle Keith tripped over Thelma’s brother, JJ Evans (Jimmie Walker), and broke his leg. Keith’s career-ending injury put an end to Thelma’s dreams of living a lavish lifestyle as a football star’s wife. Broke and destitute, Keith moved in with the Evans family for the show’s final 2 seasons. Good Times ran from 1974 to 1979.

Powers’ TV wife wrote on Facebook, “My condolences goes out to the family of Ben Powers who past [sic] a few days ago. He was a great actor and great friend who is gone too soon. He will be missed by many. Until next lifetime my friend.”

Powers’s funeral is set for May 3 in Rhode Island.

The new independent black-owned and operated 94.5 Streetz radio station held its 1st annual Streetzfest on Saturday in the A.

Performers included Monica Brown (pictured above with on-air personality Angela Yee), Meek Mill, Plies, Yo Gotti, Kevin Gates, Rich Homie Quan, Young Dro, Dolph, Cap-1, Travis Porter, and Dolph among others. Also spotted backstage were family man Lil Scrappy, music exec Michael Kyser (the one who once dated Necole Bitchie), Instagram star L’il Terio, musicians A-town, radio personalities Brook Lynn Carter, Angela Yee, Sarah Vivan, Jazzie McBee and more.
