John Krasinski featured in Variety! Found Out He Wasn't Captain America on Emily Blunt's Birthday
When it comes to booking gigs in Hollywood, actors and actresses know that nothing is guaranteed. But close to eight years ago, John Krasinski was hoping to score the role of Captain America.
Unfortunately, he got some bad news on Emily Blunt's birthday.
"My agent called and said, ‘They're going to go with Chris Evans,'" John recalled to Variety. "And I remember I said, ‘Yeah, look at him. He's Captain America.'"
While Emily offered to cancel their evening plans, John wouldn't let his not-so-good news rain on his wife's special day. "I said, ‘It's Chris Evans. Of course we're going to dinner,'" he shared. Awww!
Ultimately, the Marvel role didn't stop John from continuing his successful career in Hollywood. In addition to writing, directing and starring in the horror film called A Quiet Place, he also gets to return to the small screen with Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan premiering August 31 on Amazon.
"Jack Ryan's superpower is his doggedness, his determination and, more than anything, his brain. I think that John has that. He's a very intelligent guy, obviously," showrunner Carlton Cuse shared with the publication. "That comes across in his performance. And he also is a leading man. He's got that relatability, that kind of Tom Hanks factor. He can play that classic hero that you can really see yourself in."
For the rest of the summer, John and his family are staying in Atlanta as Emily shoots Disney's upcoming feature Jungle Cruise with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
To help stay in shape, John has accepted Dwayne's offer to work out at his private workout space. And before you assume this space is a fitness lover's dream, you may want to know one quick fact: Dwayne's gym is outdoors under a massive tent. And yes, it's the hot summer months in Atlanta.
"He likes to sweat it out but sometimes I look around and wonder if he's punking me, and he's working out somewhere where there's air conditioning," John joked to Variety.

#HipHopNews: The Drake And Migos Tour Start Delayed. Dates rescheduled!
You Drake Fans will have to wait a little longer to see Drake and Migos on tour.
Their joint “Aubrey and The Three Amigos Tour” has been pushed back a couple weeks. The North American trek was set to kick off Thursday (July 26) in Salt Lake City, but the new start date has been moved to Aug. 10 in Kansas City.
Several other dates have been rescheduled including St. Paul (Aug. 12), Toronto (Aug. 20, 21, and 22), Salt Lake City (Oct. 10), and Denver (Date TBD). The second Chicago show on Aug. 20 has been canceled.
According to TMZ, the schedule change has nothing to do with Offset’s recent arrest. Instead, production is not ready and Drake and Migos want their fans to get the full experience.

Pop star Demi Lovato is awake and is now recovering with her family
A representative for Demi Lovato says she is awake and recovering with her family after the pop singer was reportedly hospitalized Tuesday for an overdose.
"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support," Lovato's representative said in a statement Tuesday evening. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now."
The statement did not provide any details on what led to the singer's hospitalization.
TMZ was the first to report that Lovato had been hospitalized for a drug overdose, based on its sources, and other outlets including People magazine also reported her hospitalization based on sources.
Fox said it would pull its episode of "Beat Shazam" featuring Lovato, which was to air Tuesday night.
"We have decided to replace the episode of Beat Shazam with another all-new episode. Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family," the network said.
Lovato was scheduled to perform in Atlantic City on Thursday. News crews gathered outside Lovato's home in the Hollywood Hills, where vehicles were seen entering and leaving Tuesday afternoon. Their occupants did not stop to speak to reporters.
The hashtag #PrayForDemi trended on Twitter and several celebrities posted supportive words Tuesday, including Missy Elliott, Ariana Grande, Brad Paisley, Kesha, Bebe Rexha, Meghan Trainor, Maren Morris, Kehlani and British electronic group Clean Bandit, whose current single "Solo" features Lovato.

Trey Songz Believes Assault Accuser Andrea Buera Is Setting Him Up for a Lawsuit
Trey Songz is demanding his assault accuser be shut down in her attempt to have him turn over information to her about alleged prior assaults and settlements, claiming her real motive is to use the info against him in a future lawsuit.
According to court documents obtained by website The Blast, Songz is battling Andrea Buera, a woman who accused the “Bottoms Up” singer of assaulting her at a party in the Hollywood Hills during this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend.
Songz and Buera are going back and forth in court as Buera continues forward with her case to make her temporary restraining order against Songz a permanent one.
In his response, Songz points out that while Buera was granted a TRO, both the District Attorney and City Attorney’s Offices after careful review decided not to file criminal charges against Trey “primarily because they found Petitioner lacked credibility.”
Songz says despite this, and the fact that Buera and he have not seen or spoken to each other in six months, she continues to proceed with her efforts in seeking a permanent restraining order.
Buera is demanding Songz turn over information regarding past allegations of assault (if any), past settlements paid by him to others (if any) and other random “background” information. He says none of this is relevant to the case and none has to do with the alleged incident at hand.
He says that TRO cases are not the forum for discovery, adding, “It is clear that Petitioner’s true motivation is to gather information for a future lawsuit and to use that information to pressure” him into a settlement.
Trey Songz is demanding the court shut down Buera’s attempt to make him turn over docs over alleged past incidents. He says even though the DA and City Attorney’s Office did not prosecute, they could in the future, and he is still maintaining his fifth amendment rights to avoid incriminating himself.
The case is still ongoing.

Serena Williams claims she is the victim of "discrimination" by US doping chiefs who are testing her more than other players.
At Wimbledon Williams slammed "shocking" treatment over excessive targeting from testers in the run-up to the second Grand Slam of the season.
And in a tweet on Wednesday the 23-time Grand slam winner reignited the discussion.
The 36-year-old battled back from life-saving surgery after giving birth to get within touching distance of an eighth Wimbledon title.
However, the American suffered a straight sets defeat by Angelique Kerber in the women's final on July 14.
She had arrived at the tournament on the back of a report revealing her anger about an unannounced test in June where the tester refused to leave her Florida house.
Williams said at the time she had been tested five times on June, compared to one or none from some of her compatriots.
Athletes returning from a long absence are often the subject of repeated drug tests, as they are seen as part of a higher-risk category than athletes in the flow of regular competition.

PA State Board Recommends Bill Cosby be Labeled a Sexually Violent Predator
Earlier this year 81-year-old comedian Bill Cosby was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually molesting Andrea Constand at his home in Pennsylvania back in 2004
Now the state board wants Cosby to register as a sex offender and be labeled as a sexually violent predator....

The judge in Bill Cosby's sexual-assault case must now decide whether the comedian should be classified as a "sexually violent predator" on the recommendation of a Pennsylvania state board. The designation would require him to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and undergo treatment.
The findings were revealed Tuesday when Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele filed a motion asking Judge Steven O'Neill to set a hearing where he will decide whether or not to accept the board's recommendation.
Such a recommendation signals that Cosby demonstrated a number of the traits of a sexually violent predator, which state law defines as "a person convicted of one or more of a sexually violent offenses specified in the law and who has a mental abnormality or personality disorder that makes the person likely to engage in predatory sexually violent offenses."
Bill Cosby's sentencing date is set for Sept 24 and 25, 2018.
Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Has Been Obliterated
A man vandalized President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a pickax on Wednesday, leaving only the star’s outline in the broken sidewalk. He later surrendered to police.
Witnesses told police a man carrying the tool in a guitar case attacked the star on Hollywood Boulevard around 3:30 a.m., according to NBC Los Angeles.
The vandal dropped the pickax at the scene, according to pictures taken by passersby. Soon afterward, the man surrendered to Los Angeles police. Details of the arrest weren’t immediately available.
Trump received the star in 2007, long before his presidency. He was the host of NBC’s “The Apprentice” at the time, but the Walk of Fame star honors his role as producer for his Miss Universe shows.
Trump’s star has been attacked before, but not quite so spectacularly. It was smashed by a man in 2016 shortly after the “Access Hollywood” recording of Trump bragging about sexual assault surfaced.
In that case, the vandal used a pickax and a sledgehammer. The attacker later pleaded no contest to one felony count of vandalism. The star was later restored.
