SAD NEWS: Teen battling cancer dies four days after meeting her idol, Beyonce!

HOUSTON - A candlelight vigil was held Sunday evening for Ebony Banks, a local teenager who died from cancer four days after meeting her idol, Beyonce Knowles.

A teenager battling stage 4 cancer passed away on Sunday, just four days after meeting her idol, Beyonce Knowles.

Ebony Banks was being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The news of her death was released by a staff member with Alief ISD on Sunday.

The teen idolized Knowles and always dreamed of meeting the pop star.

Recently, some of her classmates at Alief Hastings High School took to social media and created the hashtag #EbobMeetsBeyonce and it soon went viral.

The movement caught Knowles' attention and the two met via a video chat.

Last Wednesday, Knowles called Banks on Facetime and the two were able to have a private conversation.

In video of the interaction, Knowles tells Banks, "I love you."

Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still took to Instagram on Tuesday to relay what he called the best news he's ever received.

Still's young daughter, Leah, has been battling pediatric cancer, but based on her latest MIBG scans, she is showing no signs of disease activity, according to the Instagram post:

He said: That moment you get the best news you've ever received and don't know what to do so you just flex!! We got Leah's MIBG Scans back tonight and the doctors told us they didn't see any active disease in her body!!! We still have to wait for her MRI and bone biopsy results later this week. But the doctors feel very optimistic about them because of the results from today. So for now we celebrate!! #LeahStrong #PrayersWork #ThankYouEveryOne #ImSoHappyIFeelNumb #BeatCancer
