Democratic Presidential LGBTQ Candidate Pete Buttigieg and husband Chasten covers TIME Magazine!
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg last landed in the top-tier of Democratic presidential polls, and now has landed on the cover of Time Magazine, pictured with his husband, Chasten Glezman.
The media treatment provides new details into the beliefs and home life of the candidate who has become a Democratic sensation after some strong TV performances.
He has already become a subject of media interest, lunching with Oprah Winfrey and drawing crowds of voters interested in his background as a Midwestern mayor who served in Iraq, was a Rhodes scholar, and learned eight languages.
His campaign events have also drawn homophobic protesters.
The Time profile recounts how Buttigieg and Glezman met on an online dating app while Buttigieg was serving as mayor, and follows his decision to come out while in office to avoid any political problems while dating.
Titled ‘First Family,’ it describes mundane elements of the couple’s homelife, including how they divide chores and bicker over food.
Chasten takes care of the increasingly famous dogs (he posts about them frequently), while Pete does the dishes and takes out the garbage.
But another profile in the Washington Post reveals the difficulties Chasten encounter when he first told his family he was gay while attending community college and living at home.
He eventually would move out, living on friends’ couches and sometimes sleeping in his car before his mother invited him back.
His older brother, Rhyan Glezman, who is the pastor of a Christian church Michigan,said he loves his brother but revealed the family strain continues.
‘I want the best for him. I just don’t support the gay lifestyle,’ he said.
His younger brother Dustin added: ‘We never got over it.’
When he told his parents the summer after graduating, he said: 'I remember my mom crying,' adding: 'and the first thing she asked me was if I was sick. I think she meant, like, did I have AIDS?”
The couple’s first date included a trip to an Irish pub and a minor league ballpark.
When they finally decided to marry, Pete proposed to Chasten in Gate B5 of Chicago’s O’Hare airport, which I down a corridor from a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, a gallery store and a Jamba Juice. It was the spot where chasten noticed his profile on the dating app Hinge.
As Buttigieg has gotten more time in the spotlight, he has been confronted with homophobic protesters at some of his events. There were protests at multiple Iowa stops this month, including protesters led by religious activist Randall Terry.
Hecklers yelled about 'Soddom and Gomorrah' during one event. Buttigieg's response to one Iowa protest: The 'condition of my soul is in the hands of God, but the Iowa caucuses are up to you.'
Buttigieg came in fourth in the latest CNN poll, with 7 per cent support.

At the end of season 10 Moore, 48, was fired after her secret wedding and refusal to film with her husband.
She attempted to crash the show on the Season 11 finale but her hopes that the buzz surrounding the episode would earn her a spot on the show backfired in more ways than one.
Producers of the show initially considered not airing the episode, but after deciding to do so made it clear Brooklyn’s mother would not be getting paid.
“Kenya could have filmed a few times during the season, but she wanted big money and the show said no. So, they’re not going to pay her for crashing a party,” the source insisted to Radar.
The source added she wouldn’t have the opportunity to join any other shows because of her contract
Fortunately for Moore, she met with the show’s execs and convinced them that she’s peach-worthy again.
They said she has to abide by rules including curbing her diva ways filming with her husband. Lucky for her, her hair care line is another source of income.
#Empire: Season 5 Episode 17 Recap; Frozen Accounts And Roller Rinks and Cookie Gets Caught
One of the things Andre loved to do when he was younger was head to a roller rink and after the rink, head to his favorite hotel, get a suite and hang out with his friends. He plans to do this today with Teri, but she bows out quickly saying she has to get to work. Cookie knows why she can’t do a date today – because Teri needs to get to the doctor – so Cookie tells Andre she’ll go with him instead. He really wants to go with Teri and he’s super emotional and whiny, but he relents to spending some quality time with his mother. They head to the roller rink, where he tells his mom all about his memories of the place. His favorite places.
Agent Conway went out of her way to have the Empire bank accounts frozen, and everyone finds this out when Thirsty (Andre Royo) bursts into a meeting between Becky (Gabby Sidibe,) Kelly Patel (Pej Vahdat) and Giselle Barker (Nicole Ari Parker) to make it clear that someone needs to run him his money. No one can find Lucious (because he is blacked out on the side of the road somewhere.) Cookie is missing in action too, so Andre comes in and says he will find a way to find some money to keep Empire going. The group decides to do a surprise concert with pairings with other popular artists like Sevyn Street and Ty Dollar $ign.
Andre volunteers to figure out a way to get into a super-secret meeting that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is apparently holding with other venture capitalists and Silicon Valley playboys. He plans to find money for Empire at this event but he needs a way in, so he heads to visit his big brother Kingsley (A.Z. Kelsey). Kingsley is like, nope. No can do. Those guys hate me now, after the data mining scandal. And then Kingsley does something incredible: he transfers $10 million to Empire’s accounts.
Andre didn’t want the money from Kingsley but hey, that worked out neatly didn’t it? Plenty money for tour, give concerts, promote and pay everyone’s checks.
They can’t find Cookie because she’s been snatched up by the feds. Conway picked her up for questioning about her business with Damon Cross (Wood Harris) in Panama. Cookie tells Conway nothing, even when Conway presents her with images of her and Damon getting intimate in Panama. Conway threatens to tell Lucious if Cookie doesn’t come forward, and Cookie dares her to do it. She asks for a lawyer and eventually gets up and walks away.
On the way to Empire she stops by to see Cross and remind him that she’s doing him a solid since he did her a solid concerning Andre. The feds are after him, he tells him, hoping to end a loop of “IOUs” created ever since she started leaning on him when the family learned of Andre’s cancer diagnosis.

Tyler, the Creator is ready to embark on a new era. After dropping some cryptic teasers, the Odd Future rapper has announced his new album IGOR. Taking to social media, he revealed the title and May 17 release date, along with the cover art. The first cover features a black-and-white photo of Tyler against a pink backdrop, while the second is an illustrated portrait done by mixed-media artist Lewis Rossignol.
Last week, he shared a pair of teasers featuring two new tracks, “IGOR’S THEME” and “WHATSGOOD,” that are expected to appear on the project.
IGOR marks the follow-up to 2017’s Flower Boy, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. Last November, Tyler dropped a six-track holiday EP, Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch.
A Woman Reportedly Overdoses At Chris Brown’s Birthday Party
WOODLAND HILLS, CA – Chris Brown‘s 30th birthday bash on Sunday (May 5) at Sky High Sports (a large trampoline center) in Woodland Hills, California, ended on a sour note following a suspected overdose by a female partygoer.
According to a report by The Blast, Los Angeles Fire Department received a call at 11:56 PM about a possible overdose, and the unidentified woman was transported via ambulance to a local hospital. Her current condition — and her relationship to Brown (if any) — is currently unclear.
LAPD later investigated the venue to get clarity on the circumstances of the incident, at which point most of the guests, including Brown, began to clear out.
Shortly before the incident, Brown announced to his guests that his upcoming album Indigo, set to be 30 songs in length, will be released June 21. He also previewed a collaboration with Drake. Justin Bieber, Tory Lanez, Tyga, Tank, H.E.R., Juvenile, Joyner Lucas, Gunna, and Juicy J are also set to appear on the album — as are Nicki Minaj and G-Eazy on the already released single “Wobble Up.

Kevin Hunter wants spousal and child support from Wendy Williams
Kevin Hunter doesn’t want to walk away from Wendy Williams without some money.
Hunter filed his response to her divorce petition and is requesting spousal support, as well as child support for their son, Kevin Hunter Jr., even though he’s 18 and will turn 19 in August, according to court documents obtained by Page Six. Hunter is also requesting the famed talk show host pay for their son’s college tuition, as well as “equitable distribution of all personal assets.”
Williams filed for divorce from Hunter in April after 22 years of marriage. She sought to establish an “appropriate amount of child support” as well as “other further relief as the Court deems fair and equitable.”
She has since fired Hunter — whose alleged mistress Sharina Hudson recently welcomed a baby — as her manager and executive producer of her daytime talk show.
From The #OMG Files: The Mayor of a Nearly All-White Georgia Town Refused to Hire a Man because HE’S BLACK!
The mayor of a small Georgia town is under fire for remarks she allegedly made describing her refusal to consider a Black man as a candidate for employment as city administrator, and a city councilman sharing his racist and religious beliefs is supporting her.
Hoschton, Georgia Mayor Theresa Kenerly "told a member of the City Council she pulled the resume of Keith Henry from a packet of four finalists 'because he is black, and the city isn’t ready for this,'" she allegedly said, according to an investigation by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Kenerly reportedly made the remarks during a close-door city council meeting.
Councilwoman Hope Weeks wrote that the mayor "proceeded to tell me that the candidate was real good, but he was black and we don’t have a big black population and she just didn’t think Hoschton was ready for that."
Kenerly, in a subsequent apology, claimed she was “looking out” for the applicant, because there are not a lot of minority residents in Hoschton, a nearly all-white town of less than 2000 that is poised for large growth.
And while the mayor says she does not recall making the remarks, Councilman Jim Cleveland says he supports them.
“I understood where she was coming from,” he said. “I understand Theresa saying that, simply because we’re not Atlanta. Things are different here than they are 50 miles down the road.”
"She might have been right," he added.
Cleveland also explained his own beliefs on race, which he says are tied to his religious beliefs.
“I’m a Christian and my Christian beliefs are you don’t do interracial marriage. That’s the way I was brought up and that’s the way I believe,” he said. “I have black friends, I hired black people. But when it comes to all this stuff you see on TV, when you see blacks and whites together, it makes my blood boil because that’s just not the way a Christian is supposed to live.”

Even the judges were caught off guard during the Sunday, May 5, episode of American Idol. After Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon and Laci Kaye Booth were shockingly eliminated, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie had to decide which singer to save.
Their choice was to keep Booth and in turn, send Harmon home. However, it wasn’t easy – and none of the judges were thinking they would have to choose between them.
“What’s interesting about tonight is that there was a curveball, I thought,” Perry, 34, told Us Weekly after the show on Sunday. “I didn’t necessarily know if Wade [Cota] was going to get in. But he did such great performances this evening that it obviously persuaded the people and threw us through a loop. So that’s why at the end we were like, ‘What is happening?’ I’m not sure, I think, you hear these whispers like, ‘Oh American Idol is this format, that format.’ It feels like change is in the air.”
Bryan, 42, added that Jeremiah wasn’t even “in our train of thought” when imagining having to use the save.

“Even last week we weren’t even thinking about it. We were thinking about other people. Next thing you know, the people we’ve been thinking about for a couple of weeks, they’re in there. So we had to scramble,” he said.
Richie, 69, added, “The two or three people at the beginning were the people we were thinking, ‘OK, they’re going to have a shot.’ It threw us off. We were in shock when they asked us for our vote. But, I’m going to say this, they’ve all won now. Don’t think of the winner.”
The “365” singer then shed light on how tough the process has been and how difficult it is to eliminate anyone this far in the game.
“I did not love doing that. I’m really tired. I need a double margarita,” she added. “But also I want Jeremiah to know, number one, that we love him and we support him. It’s written in the stars for him. And historically if you look at people that didn’t win and how far they’ve come, he’s OK.”
The final four in season 17 are Booth, Cota, Laine Hardy and Alejandro Aranda. American Idol airs on Fox Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.

The 60-year-old pop icon just announced the Madam X Tour which will include multiple nights of shows in major cities across the US in theater sized venues.
So far, Madonna has announced concerts in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, with more dates in Las Vegas, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Lisbon, London and Paris to be revealed.
Madonna’s new album Madame X arrives June 14. It features Maluma, Quavo, Swae Lee, and Anitta. She recently performed her Maluma collaboration “Medellín” at the Billboard Music Awards 2019.
The Madame X Tour is set to kick off on September 12th.

Kim Kardashian is shooting down rumors that her fourth child has arrived.
The 38-year-old reality star took to her Twitter to deny the baby boy was born amid speculation based on a text message from husband Kanye West about the couple’s children.
“Wait just saw news our baby boy came but that’s not true! It’s Met Monday, I’m in NYC. I would be at the hospital lol,” Kim wrote.
Kim is expected to walk the red carpet at the Met Gala tonight along with her younger sisters Kendall and Kylie.
Kim and Kanye are expecting the baby boy via surrogate sometime soon.
Raz B Joins the Cast of ”Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood”
Looks like Raz B is the newest addition to the Love and Hip franchise.
The singer allegedly signed a contract with ”Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” last month and will be featured on the upcoming season.
TMZ reported on Monday that a production crew for the reality show had been following Raz B around for weeks, capturing his Millennium Tour drama with B2K as well as his relationship woes.
The singer briefly quit the tour earlier this year after addressing his issues with former manager, Chris Stokes. After returning to perform with the group, Raz B was arrested for an alleged assault on his girlfriend this week, causing him to miss a performance in Minnesota.
Fans of the group seem to be interested in learning more about the singer’s personal life. By joining the cast, Raz B will become the fourth and final member of B2K to tap into the VH1 series.
Gabrielle Union’s new baby clothing line inspired by infant daughter Kaavia
Gabrielle Union's infant daughter Kaavia James has a new clothing line named after her. Gabrielle will release the Kaavi James by Gabrielle Union capsule collection exclusively through New York & Company on Monday, May 6.
Speaking to WWD, the "Being Mary Jane" actress explained that her baby clothing line felt like a "natural progression" after a surrogate delivered Kaavia in December. For years the 46-year-old struggled to conceive a baby naturally with former NBA star Dwyane Wade.
"I wanted to create a baby collection because it was a natural progression where I am in my life now, and it has always been important to me to make sure that the collections that I design reflect a part of me and are true to what I think many women can relate to," Gabrielle told WWD.
The Kaavi line features fleecy pants and coveralls, cotton-printed dresses, T-shirts and onesies available in sizes ranging between 0 to 24 months. There is also a sweater set that features Kaavia's dog, Tre.
The baby line shares similarities between Gabrielle's existing womenswear range. She shared that both projects were created to offer clothes that are stylish, affordable and accessible for both mother and child.
"My women's wear clothing objective has always been to empower women and now I'm thinking about those exact same women with babies that are doing it all and want to dress their children in affordable, comfortable clothes."
Gabrielle added that the clothing line is inclusive for girls and boys. "I wanted to create pieces that are all-inclusive - that both girls and boys could wear - and that were fun."
