Chris Brown Covers Vibe: Talks Freedom, Fatherhood & The Future

With his highly-anticipated Royalty album in out now, Chris Brown covers the latest issue of Vibe magazine. The “Little More” singer rocks a diamond-encrusted grill, rings, and a watch as he fronts the publication. During his interview, he talks freedom, fatherhood and the future. Read a few highlights inside.

“I think creative control is kind of like the total opposite from me. It’s just freedom,” he explains while talking him having a voice in everything from choosing his own clothes to upcoming designs for his clothing line, Black Pyramid . “A lot of my doubts–or a lot of the doubts that are put upon us as people or individuals–I don’t funnel that to make my life move. The way I look at it is, I’m fearless.”

Chris opens up about suspecting that baby Royalty was his daughter before he knew for sure:

I had thought about it. I had saw pictures, and I was like ‘Damn.’ So I asked, and [Nia] was like ‘Nah, it’s not you.’ So I was like cool, I didn’t think it was an issue. But when I found out, it was kind of like, ‘Damn, she looks just like me.’ And I didn’t care about how me and her mother didn’t have a relationship, I didn’t care about any situation. I just wanted to see her. I just wanted to be able to have that opportunity, as something personal to me. I’m not gonna be upset, I’m not gonna be mad. I have to be honest with myself and pick the priorities over the situation. I had to make my priority my daughter.

He also talks allowing God to direct his path:

I’m going to do what God allows. And if God don’t want it, He’ll put a stop to that motherf**ker right away. But right now, he’s letting me get it off. I’m gonna utilize the time that He’s given me to just inspire.” [In discussing his relationship with the Creator and what he prays for, his inner ghetto Gandhi takes center stage.] “You’re letting n***as see, like ‘Whoa, this black failure just keeps creeping through the cracks. What the f**k is it?’ It’s freedom, free will and nonstop belief and hope in God.

#RHOA: Kenya Moore Opens Up About RHOA Miami Mess

Kenya Moore was at the center of the drama last episode on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as usual. Kenya is always very controversial and speaks her mind; sometimes this works out for her, but most times it doesn’t. Kenya often finds herself on the outs with someone, and I usually think she’s wrong. This week however, I agreed that Tammy’s nephew Glen took things too far, and I gave Kenya a lot of credit for asking him to leave, although her delivery could have been much better!

Kenya took to Bravotv.com to break down the end of the Miami trip, and also did some reflecting for the holidays!

MESSY

Many people accuse me of being messy. If you say something on a reality TV show with cameras recording you that you don’t want people to know about or ever repeat, don’t go on a reality TV show talking about people… Now that’s messy! You can call me messy, and at times I am. I own that. However, what I won’t do is look the other way when I see a potentially dangerous situation for myself, my friends, and cast mates.

WHY I WANTED GLEN TO LEAVE

Glen made me and Kandi uncomfortable on several occasions. He came in with a chip on his shoulder, calling us “bitches and hos.” This was difficult to witness. I clearly saw a pattern of disrespectful behavior. We were all drinking and having fun on the boat, but his first response to me snapping my fingers at him was aggressive and uncalled for. I laughed it off, but I noted it. He was then aggressive with Kandi, who is obviously pregnant. He threatened to show out “any bitches or hos try him or disrespect him,” and when politely asked to leave by Tammy, he charged at me calling me a “little bitch” and pushed his own Aunt down to the ground.

PHAEDRA VS. MIKE BROWN AND FERGUSON

I’m astounded by Phaedra’s blatant attempt manipulate the fans and incite anger against me. She stated that my reaction to Glen was the same as that of a “white women in suburbia” to an innocent Black boy walking down the street.

This had nothing to do with a “white women in suburbia” as Phaedra stated. Some men, like Glen, behave in a way that is unacceptable in society. We can feel a need to protect our men from unwarranted police brutality as in the Black Lives Matter campaign, but this is clearly not the same.

Further, if a man is acting in a threatening and aggressive manner thereby making women feel uncomfortable, we cannot ask them to leave? According to Kim Fields if we do, we are “hitting a hornet’s nest” and “provoking” a man. Shame on them! I do not have to accept a man’s abuse — physical or verbal, black or white. Glen was abusive, period. I deserve to feel safe in my environment. I deserve protection. I deserve respect. This incident is not about a racial divide. I am a woman first.

These women are so resentful of my presence that they will always choose the side that is against me. Would any of these hypocritical mothers allow their sons to talk to women that way? Would that be acceptable to them for their sons to act the way Glen did? We saw Phaedra threaten to call the police on Apollo, but according to them I was wrong to ask Glen to leave.

Regarding Phaedra, she has made it her mission on every episode thus far to call me a villain; making fun of my former skin condition, my dark brown skin tone, and now my preemptive actions made to protect not only her, but all of the women present. It’s evident that Kim Fields, Phaedra, Sheree, and Porsha were all wrong about Glen. Yet, they were all ready to nail me to a stake until Kandi stated she agreed with me. Funny how that works isn’t it?

THANKFUL

As the holidays approach it always reminds me of how blessed I am. I feel thankful that Tammy was not severely injured. I’m thankful for my intuition and that even though I’m a woman, I have the balls to act on my instincts, even if it makes me unpopular. I’m thankful that I don’t carry hate in my heart and thankful that my decisions prevented any of us from being hurt.

Kenya makes a great point that the ladies weren’t okay with forcing Glen to leave until Kandi agreed she was uncomfortable; it actually made me laugh, because they all just think Kenya is such a nut-case that they didn’t believe her! (Safety in numbers) I do think things took a dark turn when they started discussing “black lives matter“; I actually agree with Kenya and didn’t think that was relevant here.

Honestly, I do think she made some valid points in her blog this week! What did you think of Kenya’s blog?

Hill will kick off 2016 with a pair of intimate performances at the the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC on Jan. 1 and at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY on Jan. 4.

Hip Hop News; Action Bronson Announces "The Human Highlight Reel" Project

It's been a little while since Action Bronson released an album but he wants to let his fans know he's still around.

The Flushing, Queens native took to Twitter last night and revealed he's got a new project coming, and soon.

"I know I haven't dropped new music in a minute but *The Human Highlight Reel* is coming real early next year. #It'sMe," he tweeted. "#HumanHighlightReel."

Bronson didn't mention a specific release date but he is known to release numerous projects prior to his LPs, so it's likely that's what this is. He dropped his last project, Mr. Wonderful in March.

Meagan Good & DeVon Franklin Releasing A Relationship Book Titled “The Wait” 

“Minority Report” actress Meagan Good and her preacher husband Devon Franklin have patterned up to co-write a new relationship book titled, “The Wait.”

By now you know, Meagan was practicing celibacy when she met her now husband and, oddly enough, DeVon was also abstaining from sex when they met. So who better to write the blueprint on how to wait for your king or queen than these two. They’re a super cute couple who’s navigating their relationship in the limelight quite well.

In the book, the twosome will drop relationship advice and touch on their Christian faith all while teaching couples how to abstain from sex until marriage and how celibacy played a major role in their successful relationship. They hope to help others find the love of their lives and to inspire folks to live a life they love.

Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade Channel The Jackson 5 For Their Christmas Photoshoot

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade channeled The Jackson 5 for their 2015 Christmas photoshoot. The couple – along with their boys – rock’d afros and danced it up in an accompanying video.

“This year for our family photoshoot/video we attempted to recreate iconic Jackson 5 album covers/photos and had a blast.. Until 2016… Love & Light!” wrote Gabby. While Dwyane added: “The Wade 5s.. This is how we do Xmas..” Their dogs even joined in on the photoshoot fun.

Additionally, earlier this week Dwyane shared a photo of Gabrielle posing with his sons, Zaire and Zion, and nephew, Dahveon; captioned: “2 years ago today we asked this beautiful person to marry us and she said yes!!! In Memoriam: William Guest, Gladys Knight And The Pips Member, Dies At The Age Of 74

William Guest, a member of Gladys Knight and the Pips, has died. He was 74.

Guest's sister-in-law, Dhyana Ziegler, said he died Thursday in Detroit of congestive heart failure.

Guest performed throughout the lifespan of the Grammy-winning group from 1953 to 1989. He performed background vocals on hits such as "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Midnight Train to Georgia."

"My heart is broken, but I know his legacy will live on," said Guest's daughter, Monique Guest, in a statement.

Gladys Knight and the Pips were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Apollo Hall of Fame in 2006.

After the group ended, Guest and another member, the late Edward Patten, formed a production company. Guest later served as CEO of Crew Records. He released his autobiography "Midnight Train From Georgia: A Pips Journey" in 2013 with Ziegler.

"I am so glad we finished the book, so his wonderful life and legacy will be celebrated throughout eternity," Ziegler said. "I loved my brother so much."

Don Lemon Says He Wants To Drop The F-Bomb Like Chelsea Handler

Are you ready to see Don Lemon like you've never seen him before? It could happen sooner than you think Don Lemon says that he wants a show like Chelsea Handler where he can drop the F-bomb.

Lemon did an interview with AdWeek and in an outtake he discusses his plans for the future. "I think at some point, I don't know, I will probably get out of traditional news and became either a Bill Mahar with a show that has a point of view but not so focused on the comedic part of it. I would like to have a news show, if we could, almost the way Chelsea Handler did her show. With a panel where you could actually say the F-word or I could really give my opinion without everyone screaming 'You can't do that as a journalist!'" 

Does this mean bye bye CNN? It's not for certain, but will you watch a Chelsea Handleresque show starring Don Lemon?

Did Cam Newton Confirm The Birth Of His Baller Baby?

Despite their loss to the Atlanta Falcons, it's quite possible that Cam Newton may have a reason to celebrate. 

Over the summer we posted a photo of Cam, his girlfriend Kia (Hazel) and her daughter at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta. In the photo Kia appeared to be visibly bigger, which led many to believe that she and Cam were with child. Though neither party ever confirmed the rumors, it didn't stop us from putting her on baby bump watch. Kia even posted photos 2 months ago that appeared to be from her baby shower.  

On December 24, it was reported that the star QB had to leave Panthers practice early due to an an unspecified personal reason. Many began to speculate that maybe Kia had gone into labor. On Sunday, December 27 a touchdown celebration drew more speculation. Just before handing off a touchdown ball to a child, as usual, Cam cradled the ball like a baby and held up the number 1. Was this the confirmation that we have been waiting for? Did Cam have a baby on Christmas?

Jesus Take The WHEEL! ‘Preachers’ Exes’ Looking for a Reality Show Pickup 

*A group of women have gotten together for a common goal, but they didn’t start a book club!

Instead they call themselves “Preachers’ Exes” and are shopping around for their reality TV series to be picked up.

The show was inspired by the book, “3PM: The Preacher. The Power. The Penis & Me,” written by executive producer Cheron K. Griffin.

The pilot will showcase how “most churches have mess from the pulpit to the pew.”

And the show will feature Griffin with other former preachers’ exes: Lynn Littlejohn, Ysidra Kyles, Rochelle Mudd, Chinaza Duson and DiShan Winters. But the names of the preachers they were married to are disclosed.

LOL WATCH:

“America has been afraid to deal with the issues of the pastor and those who have been involved with the pastor,” reads the show’s description on Facebook.

The exes will tackle many issues they have faced while married to their husbands: infertility, miscarriages, cheating and a marriage to a gay preacher.  The pilot features typical reality TV confrontations while these women celebrate being free, battle their demons and ask God for forgiveness.

I don’t see this show going ANYWHERE!

LORD JESUS Deacon SHOT THE PASTOR for sleeping with his WIFE!

JESUS Take the wheel! In reports you've likely already seen all over the net and news this week, Pastor Ronald J. Harris Sr. was gunned down by a former parishoner under some VERY suspicious circumstances last week. Now, find out the emerging details about the pastor and his alleged relationship with the gunman's wife inside....

Lake Charles, LA was rocked Friday evening after a murder in the pulpit.  Former deacon, Woodrow Karey Jr., walked into the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center and killed Pastor Ronald J. Harris Sr. by shooting him twice at point blank range.  All in the middle of a revival service.

Before you write this off as just complete random foolishness, the emerging backstory may shed some light on this horrible incident.

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers, Woodrow shot Pastor Ronald twice (once at close range and again after the pastor was on the floor).  Woodrow later fled on foot before calling the Sheriff's office and turning himself in. As it stands now, he's been booked on a second-degree murder charge and his bond is set at $1 million.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso told NBC News affiliate KPLC, 

"We’re trying to put all the pieces together. I’m sure we’re going to get responses from both sides, saying that they’re both great people and it’s my understanding that Pastor Harris and Mr. Karey were great friends at some point.  So, this makes it very difficult for us to get to the bottom of this if in fact people don’t come forth and tell us the truth. We’re in that process, it’s going to take a long time but that’s where we are in this investigation.”

Completely andom shootings like this rarely, if ever, happen inside the churches down south.  So this begs the question of whether the cause was one of personal nature.

Of course, we want to know what the "cause" was too.  Any good Southern Baptist knows that people of the curch will eventually talk.  And a lot of -ish has been discussed since Sunday....

Depending on where you look, you'll naturally find a few "different" perspectives on the Pastor. His daughter, Talisha Harris, told the Associated Press, "One question I do want to ask him (Woodrow) is why. My dad had a big heart. He'd help anybody."

Well....some of the good church folks are saying the Pastor had a big sexual appetite for the women folk.  Allegedly.

One source put it this way to a website reporting on the incident:

“He was sleeping with multiple women at the church parsonage, but he slept with the Deacon’s wife at the Woodrow’s house. This has been going on for a while, so it was only a matter of time before it came out. I Just didn’t think it would come out like this. If you get a man’s daughter pregnant and you sleeping with his wife – then I could see how this happened.”

Yes....you read that right. The "rumor" is the Pastor was also sleeping with the former Deacon's daughter. And she might be pregnant. But wait.....there's more.  

The deacon's wife filed a rape complaint against the Pastor!  And that's been proven.

The Associated Press revealed that Woodrow found some "inappropriate texts" on his wife's cellphone on Sept. 21, a few days before she filed the complaint and less than a week before the shooting. Cops plan to explore if their relationship was consensual. 

This is some big ol' church mess.....we'll keep you posted as details emerge.

Former Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) Pastor Darwin Randolph Exposed As A PJD (Pineapple Juice Drinker)!!!

I am not even gonna try and write my own version of this story! THE FOLKS OVER AT OBNOXIOUS HAS IT FULLY IN CONTROL RIGHT HERE. Now do ya’ll see why folks are fleeing from the church? Well here is the entire story as William “Obnoxious TV” McCray can only tell it!

Close to six or seven years ago rumors began to surface that former Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) Superintendent and Pastor Darwin Randolph might have been a PJD (Pineapple Juice Drinker, Obnoxious phrase for on the Down Low) he seemed to have disappeared in the mist of all the talk about his sexuality. At first the rumors seemed to have been impossible to believe due to Darwin being such an Alpha Male (extremely masculine). Plus this guy was well on his way to making a name for himself in ministry. Traveling and preaching on some notable lineups and for a number of high profile people all over the country. However, it was said that his wife somehow caught him in the bed with his church administrator, a male COGIC elder that is said now to be a pastor. Darwin was not helping the rumors to die down, but he seemed to fan the flames. It was not uncommon for the Chattanooga, TN pastor to leave his pulpit and head South to Atlanta. A ninety minute drive away from his church, wife, and children Darwin could live his double life as a gay man until his two worlds began to collide. For some reason he did not think that a number of other men was doing the same thing he was as well.

It had become common knowledge that Darwin Randolph frequently went out to the gay clubs. In fact one night while sitting in the closing fiery service of revival Todd Hall had been running a text came through on the phone of a friend and fellow elder tat Darwin was in the club. The phone was passed to me, Mr. Obnoxious, to read the message. In shock beyond belief I rounded up an entourage of friends and we left church in the mist of Todd Hall hooping and hollering to see Darwin in action. The group of us rolled out six or seven deep to see Darwin with our own eyes in the punk bar. While in route myself and my entourage of friends removed suit jackets, ties, bow ties, and and anything else that would make us appear churchy. All of us was following each other around totally out of place and nervous that someone would recognize us while looking for Darwin. Finally, there he was in his outfit of choice jeans, construction boots, a baseball cap turned to the back, and the famous wife beater tee-shirt. Darwin was drunk grinding on a much younger light brother with a beer bottle in his hand and occasionally deeply tongue kissing while grinding and thrusting him in very sexual manner. Moved beyond disbelief one of the friends in my entourage began to cry at the site of this preacher in that state. Quickly I, Mr. Obnoxious, slapped him upside the head and instructed him to get a damn grip on himself and stop being so weak.

Although, Darwin was drunk and high that night he eventually spotted me and my crew. Bold enough to speak to everyone except me the pastor carried on having a good time. While he was distracted and talking I got a chance to corner the guy that had been an object of Darwin’s affection. He shared with me that the guy said his name was Daryl and that he had no idea that he was a pastor let alone married with children. The dude said it was not a big deal and he was just out having a good time, but had met “Daryl” in the club before a few times. Darwin was also spotted in Lenox Mall during Black Gay Pride in his baseball cap and wife-beater tee-shirt. This man seemed to really enjoy the gay lifestyle and would forget that he had a family or did not care.

On another occasion Darwin was busted in Detroit on a Sunday night after he had preached at Bishop Brooks church. A fellow COGIC pastor and superintendent stopped by the hotel where Darwin was staying after having attended the service to be sure he did not need anything on behalf of the bishop. Much to his dismay Darwin was in jeans, boots, baseball cap, and wife-beater with a flaming church sissy headed out. When Darwin was confronted about his attire, behavior, and company he lied and said he knew the guy and had him bring him some pills due to his not feeling well.

Here we are all these years later, actually six years later on July 2, 2013 a member of my Obnoxious Street Committee contacted me about a man tat was a pastor and possibly COGIC that had tried to meet and hook up with a friend of his on a gay sex site. Checkout the e-mail he sent me below along with the photos Darwin sent his friend and the chat messages about their hooking up along with the photos of Darwin Randolph or a man that looks a great deal like Darwin. Notice in the chat messages he was still using the aliases Daryl. Look at the photos and share with us if you think the photos are of Darwin or not. I wanted to pass alone some interesting news regarding one of COGIC beloved sons. A friend of mines sent me these pictures of this pastor and superintendent of the church because he was trying to hook up with him on a gay site. When my friend received this pics he quickly shut him done because he recognized him. The minister is suppose to be married yet wanted to connect to engaged in male on male sexual acts.

Siovaughn Funches-Wade is Homeless In Downtown Chicago?

This right here is D. Wade’s worst nightmare at this point in his career.  Last year, Chinese brand Li-Ning signed Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade to a 10 year, $100 million dollar not only because he’s a super star, but they loved the fact that he’s never been involved in a major scandal.

The photos of his ex-wife Siovaughn yesterday, in downtown Chicago will definitely have them clutching their pearls.  

According to a tip, she was spotted sitting in front of the Daley Center with signs that said that she’s out on the streets. (We assume she means homeless.) This comes a week after she filed a million dollar lawsuit against Dwyane Wade claiming he hadn’t handed over money owed to her from his endorsement deals. She later dropped the suit altogether.

But in the meantime……..

Hollywood Responds To Kerry Rhodes Calling Him A Liar

This morning Kerry, yet again, took to the blogs to deny being gay and insisted that Russell "Hollywood" Simpson was lying. Even worse, it seems like some threats were being made too. Needless to say, that didn't sit well with Hollywood, so he contacted Baller Alert for yet another exclusive!

How can a Basketball Widow spend 1 Million in 10 Months? She’ll tell you how!

One basketball widow's draw-dropping tales of excess could have cost her four kids their future financial stability now that it's been disclosed that she spent $1M in less than a year.

Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright signed a $1 Million life insurance policy in 2010 after before he filed for divorce from Sherra Wright, hoping that his kids would be taken care of if he died. Unfortunately....he was found dead five months after the policy went into effect.  Interesting timing.

Now you might think Sherra would save money for her kids' college funds or perhaps save some of the $1M for the future....but no. She didn't. In fact, reports by commercialappeal.com say most of the money was gone within 10 months.

So how do you spend away your kid's future and dead ex-husband's legacy?  Here's some of the expenses:

$26,000 on a Lexus

$32,000 on a Cadillac Escalade

$69,000 on furniture

$11,750 for a trip to New York

$339,000 to buy a new home and renovate

$7,000 on a pool

$5,000 for lawn equipment

$34,000 on lawyers

At issue, other family members contend, is that the proceeds were designated to support the couple's six children. The spending report, filed in September but only just now disclosed publicly, caused a judge to begin investigation of the living conditions of Wright's children. The judge also routed other money, the NBA's $184,000 in death benefits, to Lorenzen Wright's father Herb to benefit the children. Those assets are, at present, frozen.

However, Sherra Wright says the family remains financially sound, with $1.4 million in "assets on hand." Much of that is tied up in the new house and three Arkansas investment properties.

There is also significant discord, according to the court filings, between Herb Wright and Sherra Wright, who "testified Lorenzen Wright distrusted his father and as a result removed his father from any control over his accounts and finances."

At the time of his death, Wright was operating under a child support order requiring him to pay $16,650 a month in child support and another $10,000 a month in alimony, for a total of $319,000 a year. That plan was concocted in 2009, in what would be the last year of Wright's NBA career. There was no amended plan filed after Wright left the NBA and his income dramatically declined.

It's tough to overstate the tragedy of Wright's fall. After Anfernee Hardaway, he was easily the most celebrated player in the basketball-rich city of Memphis. Like Hardaway, he was a high school legend turned Memphis Tiger, and like Hardaway he led the Tigers to the NCAA tournament and later became a lottery pick. He was never able to make a significant impact in the pros, though with $55 million in career earnings, "significant" is by definition a relative term. He deserved better than his tragic end, and the fact that acrimony from his passing continues to tear his family apart is an ongoing shame.
