Margot Robbie, homegrown Hollywood powerhouse, and Greta Gerwig, the Oscar nominated filmmaker behind Barbie, the movie everybody wants to talk about, are grasping for a metaphor. How to describe this film, a blockbuster with an impeccable cinematic pedigree and a cast which is, well, chef’s kiss, that wrestles with such weighty subjects as feminism, identity and the human/toy relationship? “Barbie contains multitudes” could have been the tagline. (They went with: Barbie is everything.)
Barbie is “seriously fun”, as Gerwig puts it. “It’s dessert,” suggests Robbie, “but so much more than dessert.” Gerwig pipes in: “It’s a steak ice-cream sandwich!” Robbie adds: “It’s a feast of all your favourite things!” Gerwig’s face lights up. In the solo shots, Shereé stunned in a bright green dress that was slightly open around her chest and stomach - showing off her toned figure.
The TV personality sat in a beige chair with her legs crossed while discussing the series with Marlo and Sanya.
"SHE’s a rare gem in a sea of ordinary stones," she captioned her post.

Blige and her signees from Beautiful Life Productions, WanMor, appeared as guests on DJ Funkmaster Flex’s Thursday night show, where the announcement was made.
According to DJ Funkmaster Flex, the untitled show will involve Mary J. Blige personally selecting and curating a playlist of her favorite songs, while also engaging in conversation with the audience.
Blige’s upcoming radio show does not have an official launch date yet, but DJ Funkmaster Flex assures that it will be coming soon.
#HipHopNews: YNW Melly Double-Murder Case Declared A Mistrial
After jurors deliberated for roughly two days, a mistrial was declared in the double-murder case of YNW Melly, who is accused of killing his two friends.
On Saturday (July 22) in Broward County, Fla, a mistrial was declared in the double-murder case of YNW Melly, who is accused of murdering his friends YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser in October of 2018. The decision came after the jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict.
Before Circuit Court Judge John Murphy III excused the jury, he thanked them for their service.
"Our system doesn't work without getting people from the community to come in here and listen to the facts of the case and make these types of decisions," he said. "They are hard decisions. We appreciate you gave us the time."
Early Friday afternoon (July 21), following multiple requests to see evidence and testimony a second time, Judge John Murphy III read a letter asking what would be the outcome if they could not come to a decision.
"Everyone is stuck on what side they've chosen," the letter read.
After discussing an Allen charge, where the judge would request the minority in the group to reconsider their decision, Judge Murphy asked the jury to go back and deliberate one more time, and if they still couldn't come to a verdict, then he would declare it a mistrial. After looking over more evidence, the jury still could not come up with a unanimous decision.
Jury deliberations began following the closing arguments from the defense and the State's rebuttal. The State had the last word just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday (July 20). The jury was then excused later that afternoon and resumed deliberations on Friday morning (July 21). Law & Crime correspondent Cathy Russon reported that there are a total of 12 jurors, five men and seven women.
On Thursday (July 20), both sides of the YNW Melly double murder trial rested their respective cases. In their closing arguments, attorneys for the prosecution revisited evidence such as DNA that was found within the Jeep in which the murders took place, the victims’ autopsy results, Melly’s cell phone records and surveillance footage from a Florida recording studio just prior to the fatal shooting.
As for the defense, they argued in their closing arguments for over an hour that due to a lack of concrete evidence from the State of Florida as well as threatening tactics used by lead Detective Mark Moretti in order to get witnesses to testify should result in YNW Melly being found not guilty.
It’s a Mistrial - Now What?
Due to the fact that a mistrial means the jury was unable to come to a definite verdict of guilty or not guilty, the prosecution can ultimately decide to pursue a new trial should they so choose. According to Miami law firm, Valient Law, the State of Florida now has 90 days to bring forth a new double murder trial against YNW Melly. If the prosecution fails to do so, Melly’s defense can inform the court that the 90-day period has expired and can move to have the charges dismissed. Friday's result is the second time YNW Melly’s defense has pushed for a mistrial. The previous motion was denied by Judge John Murphy III back on June 20.
Jamie Foxx tears up in first video update since health scare: 'I went to hell and back'
On July 22, Foxx, 55, shared an Instagram video of him talking about his recent hospitalization in April. In the clip, Foxx started off by thanking everyone who sent him well wishes and prayers.
"I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back," he said. "I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that."
"I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie (or) television show. I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through," he continued.
Foxx noted that it was his sister Deidra Dixon and his daughter Corinne Foxx who "saved" his life. And thanks to "God" and the "great medical people" around him, he said he was able to get better.
“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in, in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out," Fox added. "They protected me. And that’s what I hope everyone could have in the moments like these.”
After the comedian thanked his family for keeping his health issues private, he then addressed some of the rumors that were being said about him online.
"People saying what I got, some people said I was blind, but as you can see, the eyes are working just fine," Foxx said making a funny face. "They said I was paralyzed. I’m not paralyzed. But I did go through — I went to hell and back and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I'm coming back and I'm able to work."
"And I just wanted to say that I love everybody and I love all the love that I got," he added.
Fox then became emotional while addressing his fans, saying he wasn't afraid to show his emotions because "it is what is."
"If you see me out from now on and every once in a while, I just burst into tears, it’s because it’s been tough, man," he said. "I’ve been sick, man. But now, I’ve got my legs under me, so you’re going to see me out.”
Towards the end of the video, Foxx took a moment to share how he'd like his fans to see him, regardless of his recent health struggles.
“I just want you to remember me for the jokes that I crack, the movies that I make; some of them good, some of them ain’t. I think I’ve got a good one out," he said referring to his new Netflix film, "They Cloned Tyrone." "And songs that I sing."
"I’m here on Earth because of some great people. I’m here on Earth because of God, man," he added. "So I love all y'all. I just wanted to jump on here and let you know that I'm on my way back."
Foxx then captioned the post, "Thank u a billion to everybody… been a long road but all the prayers great people and God got me through…. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️."
Foxx's video comes after he “experienced a medical complication” in April and had to be hospitalized.
A month after the news broke, Foxx daughter Corinne shared in a May 12 Instagram post that her dad was out of the hospital and had been for “weeks."
Then on July 20, Foxx shared a brief health update when he posted a picture of himself outside of a Las Vegas hotel.
"We got BIG things coming soon 🦊," he captioned the Instagram post.

Selena Gomez urged fans to support her mental health fund as she celebrated her 31st birthday on Saturday, July 22. The brunette beauty posted on social media on her birthday to encourage her followers to lend their support to the Rare Impact Fund, which is seeking to raise $100 million over the next ten years to expand access to mental health services and education for young people around the world.
"I am thankful for so much in my life and one of the things I am most thankful for is the work we've been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @Rarebeauty. Because of YOU we've been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people. This is my true passion in life," she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Selena blowing out her birthday candles.

Kim Petras Feels 'Stung' As She Suspects Someone From Her Inner Circle Leaked Her Album
The pop star released "Feed the Beast" last month, almost a year after she revealed that her other record leaked online. Kim had admitted that becoming the victim of a leak made her feel like quitting music. She tweeted at the time, "I'm devastated idk how all of this happened and I just wanna quit (sic)."
However, in hindsight, it pushed her to make an even better LP. Kim told POPSUGAR, "I feel like I really took that time - which is time I would've never taken - to really top [the album] off and make sure it's the best it can possibly be. And now it really feels like a cohesive album. I'm proud of the message of it, which is just to go for it and do what you're most scared of."

Biden, Billy Joel, Elton John lead tributes for Tony Bennett after singer's death at 96
The entertainment world is reacting to the death of legendary crooner Tony Bennett.
Bennett, who rose to fame in the 1950s and was still dazzling audiences in recent years thanks to collaborations with Lady Gaga, "passed away in his hometown of New York City" Friday morning, according to a statement from his publicist provided to ABC News.
The "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" singer, who won 20 Grammys and was named a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2005, was 96. He had been battling Alzheimer's disease since 2016.
Among those leading the tributes was Billy Joel, who called Bennett "one of the most important interpreters of American popular song during the mid to late 20th century" in a statement shared to his website.
"He championed songwriters who might otherwise have remained unknown to many millions of music fans," the "Uptown Girl" singer continued. "His was a unique voice that made the transition from the era of Jazz into the age of Pop. I will always be grateful for his outstanding contribution to the art of contemporary music. He was a joy to work with. His energy and enthusiasm for the material he was performing was infectious."
Joel added, "He was also one of the nicest human beings I've ever known."
President Joe Biden marked the death of Bennett, calling the late singer an "American classic" just like the songs he crooned.
"Jill and I have been fans of Tony's music for a long time – not only because of his beautiful voice, but also the joy that he brought to everything he did. We send our deepest condolences to his family and fans around the world," Biden said in a statement.
The president also noted Bennett "lived history."
"He helped liberate prisoners at a subcamp of Dachau. He joined the 1965 civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery. He performed for Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, and Queen Elizabeth II, and recorded music with everyone from the Count Basie Orchestra to Lady Gaga. Bob Hope gave him his stage name. Frank Sinatra was his mentor. There's no doubt about it – Tony Bennett's life was legendary. And his contributions to the arts in America will endure," Biden said in a statement.

Tiffany Haddish Opens Up About That Lurid Lawsuit, Her Eight Miscarriages and the Messy End to Her Relationship With Common
Tiffany Haddish has never been one to hold back.The ever-candid comedian and actress doled out a wide-ranging interview with The Washington Post, in which she opened up about everything from her breakup with Common to the eight miscarriages that she’s experienced. “I’ve got a uterus shaped like a heart, it just won’t keep anything in,” she said at one point in the piece, noting that she’d kept her struggles private until now because she hadn’t wanted to be treated “like a wounded animal.”
Elsewhere in the profile, Haddish revealed an endometriosis diagnosis and the fact that she’s now wavering on the prospect of adopting. Though she took parenting classes last year in preparation for motherhood, she said that she’s now hesitating, mostly because of her schedule. As the piece makes clear, despite a year that brought a “TMZ nightmare over a lurid, bizarre lawsuit,” Haddish is as busy as ever.

She described her recent relationship with the rapper and actor Lonnie Rashid Lynn, better known as Common, as the “healthiest [and] the funnest relationship” that she’s ever had, but, at a certain point, suggested that he began to withdraw. Per the profile, there was a cadre of key events, including a birthday party for Barack Obama and Common’s own birthday, which she says he didn’t invite her to.
In the end, Common, who wasn’t available to comment for the WaPo piece, allegedly called to break up with her over the phone. “It wasn’t mutual,” said Haddish. “It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.’ And I was like, ‘OK. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?’” As the author of the profile notes, Haddish still holds out hope she’ll find the right man.
Bill Geddie, ‘The View’ Co-Creator and Barbara Walters’ Longtime Producer, Dies at 68
“He was a big deal in TV, but at home he was an even ‘bigger than life’ husband and dad,” said Geddie’s family in a statement. “He had a genuine love for television and entertainment. He would try everything and did it well — screenwriting, recording podcasts, playing guitar, writing songs, and loved a wide range of music from country to jazz. His favorite band was The Beatles, and he never thought he would have the opportunity to meet one of his personal heroes Paul McCartney in person, but his dream came true. The question wasn’t who did he meet, but rather who didn’t he meet?”
Geddie served as executive producer of “The View” for 17 years, launching it with Walters, who was eager to create a new forum for women of different generations to discuss issues of the day. His connection to Walters was much deeper than that, however. The two were partners in the ABC News correspondent’s BarWall Productions for 25 years. Geddie would serve as executive producer., writer and director of the famous “Barbara Walters Specials” and “The 10 Most Fascinating People.” Walters died December 30, 2022, at the age of 93.
Geddie worked with other popular hosts, serving as executive producer of ABC’s “Tamron Hall” in its 2018-2020 season and even overseeing a 2016 celebrity-interview special anchored by Megyn Kelly during her popular run at Fox News Channel.
He also worked as a producer at ABC News’ “Good Morning America” and even wrote the script for the 1996 sci-fi film Unforgettable,” which starred Ray Liotta and Linda Fiorentino. His production company, Bill Geddie Productions, has produced 60 original hours for the Discovery Channel.
Geddie “enjoyed connecting with people, and we know we are not the only ones who will miss his encouraging way of positive guidance. He did so with enthusiasm mixed with sarcasm,” his family said in the statement. ”His special style of humor was filled with puns. He believed in honesty. He was a kind man of integrity and always wanted to do the right thing. He lived by example.”
Geddie was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 17, 1955.. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977, majoring in communications and film, and got his start in the news business polishing floors at KOCO, an ABC station. That menial task led to bigger things. “When you buffed the floors — this is how informal television was back then — they let you run camera for the local news,” he told Texas Monthly in 2007. “What got me off the floor was that I went to the news director and said I had shot film before, so he gave me a job shooting film.”
Geddie met his wife of 44 years, Barbara, while on assignment for a Valentine’s Day story at KOCO. where she was an on-air reporter and he was a cameraman. She survives him, as do two daughters, Allison and Lauren.
As a news cameraman and editor at WKYC, now an NBC affiilate in Cleveland, he won numerous awards including six local Emmys and Regional Cameraman of the Year. He was one of the first to bear the title of “one-man band” carrying his heavy film camera and bulky tape recorder. Little did co-workers know that this caused residual pain from having had polio as a child. Geddie was not known to complain. He would eventually move into a producer role when he joined Westinghouse’s “PM Magazine” in San Francisco. From there, he would move to New York City, where he joined “GMA.”
Geddie has been the recipient of four national Emmy Awards throughout his career. In addition to the Lifetime Achievement, he was honored with two awards for stories with then “GMA” host, David Hartman. He was particularly proud of his story about searching for gorillas in Rwanda, where he was actually charged by a silverback. His fourth Emmy was awarded for his work as executive producer of “The View” in 2003, and he was also awarded three NAACP Image Awards for “The View.”
Geddie lived in Rancho Mirage, Calif., with his wife, Barbara, where he played golf for charities and enjoyed playing at Mission Hills Country Club, where he was a member. He knew a lot about movies and loved watching them with his family, especially zombie horror films and film noir.
Carlee Russell Axed from Spa Job after Cops Question Kidnapping Account
*Carlee Russell no longer has her spa job in Alabama after her account of being abducted before returning home days later appears to have been a big rouse.
Stuart Rome, the owner of the Woodhouse spa in Birmingham, told The New York Post that she’s been fired from her position, and that her co-workers are “pissed” after they bent over backwards to help bring her home.
“It was really devastating for them thinking a co-worker was abducted,” he said. “The following day, Saturday, it was the busiest day of the week, and they had to plug along and work and in the off times pass out flyers and other things.”
Since Russell’s sudden reappearance, police have revealed she had searched for bus ticket prices and movies about kidnapping on the day she disappeared, drawing side-eyes over her account. Her co-workers’ concern also started to turn to anger.
“As the information came out that there were some questionable things, we’ve been a little pissed off, mainly because so many people took so much time out to search,” Rome said.
Meanwhile, the spa itself has been bombarded with hate messages on social media, and one-star reviews due to its association with Russell.
“Basically, we’ve spent the last day battling to get things deleted,” he said. “Comments. I’ve had to shut down my comment section on Instagram and Facebook page which hurts us because we do a lot of marketing there. We’re just trying to keep the doors open.”
Russell, 25, called 911 at 9:34 p.m. July 13 to say she had spotted a child wearing a T-shirt and diaper walking barefoot along a Hoover, Alabama highway. She told dispatchers she would stay at the scene until police arrived, but then suddenly disappeared. Police located her red Mercedes-Benz, cellphone, and wig at the scene of her supposed disappearance but found no traces of Russell or the wandering child.
Two days later, Russell returned home, claiming she was held captive by a man who forced her into a car and then an 18-wheeler truck while she was blindfolded. Her mother, Talitha Russell, told NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday that her daughter had “fought for her life” to escape her captivity – but Police Chief Nick Derzis said his investigators have been “unable to verify most of Carlee’s initial statement.”

And my line to her every day was, ‘Hollywood call?’ She was like, ‘No, sir.’ So one day I called, she said, ‘As a matter of fact, yeah they did,” Jackson explained, Indie Wire reported. “You just won an award at the Cannes Film Festival.’ And I’m like, ‘What? For what?’ She said, ‘”Jungle Fever.”‘ I said, ‘They don’t give supporting actor awards at Cannes.’ She’s like, ‘They made up one for you.’ Get the f**k outta here! ‘And consequently, these people in Hollywood want to see you for this movie ‘White Sands.’”
Spike Lee and Jackson fell out when Jackson opted to star in the crime thriller “White Sands” instead of “Malcolm X.”
The wives of Lee and Jackson helped them mend their relationship, although it took some time.
Jackson explained in a previous interview, “[Our] wives would interact often, and we would all end up going to dinner together. Our relationship healed over those dinners and conversations. He told me at dinner he was going to remake ‘Oldboy’, and I was like, ‘Can I be in it?’”
Jackson has starred in several of Lee’s films, such as “Jungle Fever,” “Do The Right Thing,” and “School Daze.”
“He’s very efficient, knows what he wants, and doesn’t get in my way artistically–whatever I come with, I come with, and it’s cool,” Jackson said of Lee.
Minneapolis Honors Beyonce With Her Own “Bey Day”
As the “Renaissance World Tour” made its stop in Minneapolis, the mayor and governor of Minnesota came together to honor Beyoncé by proclaiming a special day dedicated to her accomplishments.
On Thursday, the mayor of Minneapolis and the governor of Minnesota presented Beyonce with a special recognition. Ironically enough, the honor coincided with the “Renaissance World Tour” Minnesota stop.
“Beyoncé is a world-renowned singer, artist, and producer. With the most Grammy awards in history, we couldn’t be more excited to have her performing in MPLS tonight. I’m beyond excited to proclaim today as Bey Day in the city of Minneapolis,” Mayor Jacob Frey tweeted.
Within the mayor’s 10 individual proclamation clauses, several references were made to the singer and her previous group, Destiny’s Child. One of the clauses stated, ““Whereas Beyoncé has helped raise ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ for nonprofit organizations to advance feminism and equal rights.”
Following the successful European leg of her tour, Beyoncé has now embarked on the North American segment, commencing in Toronto and subsequently making its way to Philadelphia. In addition to Frey, Governor Tim Walz also issued a proclamation in recognition of her achievements.
“I might be governor of Minnesota, but we all know who runs the world,” he wrote on Twitter. “Welcome to Minnesota, Beyoncé!”
