#RHOA: Kenya Moore Reveals That She and ShereΓ© Have Had “the Same Guys Interested in Each of Us”
Kenya Moore has been sharing her life with The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans for more than a decade. Over the years, Kenya has launched businesses, shown the ups and downs of her love life, experienced friendship highs and lows, and of course, become a mom when she welcomed her daughter, Brooklyn Daly, into her life.
“I’m going to get a pension after this,” she recently joked in an interview with The Daily Dish. “You got to be 10 years in.”
Kenya Moore Teases RHOA Season 15
Kenya first joined RHOA back in Season 5, and with Season 15 right around the corner (it premieres Sunday, May 7, at 8/7c), she teased just a bit of what her journey will look like in the new season. “Season 15 Kenya is still trying to figure it out as a single mom, now not holding back on dating, not holding back on my personal life, and just going after every goal and dream that I can possibly have, and expanding on my business, which is like a passion of mine,” she said, adding, “And being able to show my daughter what it’s like to be a real boss.”
Is Kenya Moore Dating Anyone?
Speaking of her love life, as seen in the RHOA Season 15 trailer, Kenya is looking for love and even joked about how she may have met the “next Mr. Moore.”
“I don’t think he liked that comment too much,” she said, with a laugh. “It was funny. It wasn’t serious, but yeah, I don’t think he liked it. But you know, he’s a businessman and he is very serious about everything he does. He’s very successful. So, you know, it took some time to warm up to that comment. I don’t want to focus too much on him, but I’d have to say that, for me, the guy in general that I am attracted to now is someone who is very supportive of what I do, not afraid to come around my friends, not afraid to help me in my business. Someone who’s just very confident. I think confidence is super key and [someone who is] just very comfortable in their own skin.”
Kenya Moore Reveals the Status of Her Divorce from Marc Daly: “Hopefully, That Turns Out Well”
With Kenya out in the world looking for love, she then revealed who from her inner circle she would let set her up with someone. “Cynthia [Bailey], for sure. It’s so funny, because Cynthia will send me a picture of somebody, and she goes, ‘He’s your type,’ and she nails it every time. Like, she knows my physical type,” she said with a laugh. “But she also knows I like a very well-spoken, intelligent man, but who doesn’t take himself too seriously, who likes to have fun, likes to travel.”
She continued, “I think Kandi [Burruss] knows what I’m interested in. I think most of [my castmates do]. Not all, [but] most.”
And that brings us to ShereΓ© Whitfield: “I don’t know if she would know. I think she would know my physical type. You know, ShereΓ© and I have had the same guys interested in each of us. I think she might be a little selfish and want to keep him for herself.”
Speaking of which, as seen in a first look at the RHOA Season 15 premiere, Kenya does go on to say that she has been DM’d by ShereΓ©’s current love interest, Martell Holt. “We’ll have to watch the show to see how that plays out,” she teased.
Regardless of any percolating drama, Kenya did note that she gets it can be hard for a new love interest to find his footing in the group, whatever the case may be. “So it’s one thing to tell them [what the experience is like], but it’s another thing to be in the midst of it, and also watch the fans’ reactions and people, in general, react to them. It’s a lot,” she said, sharing her advice for a potential new boyfriend: “Don’t take any of it too seriously. Unless they’re kind of going after your children or your business, I would say don’t take any of it seriously.”
Kenya noted that “most of the men I’ve ever dated, my ex-husband [Marc Daly], pretty much all my exes had never watched the show,” before revealing if she’d want a future boyfriend to have watched her on the show before. “Maybe a bit of both so there are no surprises. For me, I would probably prefer that they meet me first and see what I’m like one-on-one and not like in a catty situation where you’re having to read a bitch, you know?” she said. “That might scare a lot of people off.”
#NewMusicVideo from Chris Brown 'Talm' Bout'
Chris Brown recently turned 34 and he’s celebrating by gifting fans with a brand new video for “Talm’ Bout.”
Shot during his European tour, the black-and-white clip finds the R&B superstar hitting the streets of London and Paris at night, disguised in a hoodie and sunglasses. He also gets in some sightseeing, breezing past the Louvre, London Eye, Arc de Triomphe, and Eiffel Tower, alongside footage from his sold-out “Under the Influence Tour.”
“Talm’ Bout” can be found on the 33-track deluxe edition of Chris’ album Breezy, which was released last July.

Chris is still enjoying the success of his hit “Under the Influence,” which currently sits at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Last month, he was a surprise guest during Pharrell’s Something in the Water festival in Virginia Beach where he performed his hits and received props from Pharrell.
Breezy has even more reason to celebrate. With 114 entries, he now holds the record for most charted songs in the history of the Hot 100 among all male singers.
#HipHopNews: Lil Durk Hints At New Lil Uzi Vert Album
After a brief hiatus, Lil Durk has been highly active on social media, building buzz for his forthcoming LP, Almost Healed. Last night (May 5), the Chicago-bred emcee set his comment section ablaze after hinting at Lil Uzi Vert’s highly anticipated P!nk Tape dropping soon in his caption. “I gotta hurry up and drop before Uzi. Fxckkkkkkkkkkkk hold on. I’m almost healed,” he exclaimed.
Growth from Lil Durk
Lil Durk’s fans are hungry for new music from the multiplatinum rapper. It’s been over one year since the release of 7220, which boasted features from Gunna, Future, Summer Walker, and Morgan Wallen. This time, Durk wants to show his progression as an all-around artist. Ahead of his eighth studio album, he told XXL, “I can think better to myself. Not a lot of opinions around. Not a lot of bad opinions around. I had to change my circle. I’m tryna win.”
The “Voice of the Heroes” rapper has been making good on this promise. Last month, he announced The Durk Banks Endowment Fund, a brand-new initiative to provide exceptional students from his hometown of Chicago with scholarships to Howard University. The exciting announcement came after a surprise performance at the legendary HBCU’s spring concert.
Lil Durk has been full of surprises lately. He’s been using social media to tease everything from his relationship with India, his new song “All My Life” with J. Cole, and now Lil Uzi Vert’s P!nk Tape release date. Like Durk, Lil Uzi Vert has hinted at new music for a while. DJ Drama has used every opportunity to champion Uzi’s work ethic during the recording process. With “Just Wanna Rock” being a viral smash, the bar is set for the Generation Now recording artist’s newest full-length effort. The album is set to drop any day now. In the meantime, fans are welcome to preorder Lil Durk’s upcoming album, Almost Healed, slated to release on May 12.
King Charles III crowned King of England as the UK blends tradition and change
King Charles III has been crowned in the United Kingdom’s biggest ceremonial event for seven decades, in the presence of the royal family, 4,000 British and Commonwealth troops, about 100 world leaders and a television audience of millions.
The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby placed the 360-year-old St Edward’s Crown on Charles’s head in Westminster Abbey on Saturday, during a solemn two-hour service.
Charles’s second wife Camilla was also crowned queen with the Queen Mary’s Crown.
The king swore oaths to govern justly and uphold the Church of England, of which he is the titular head. He was then hidden from watching eyes by a screen for the most sacred part of the ceremony when he was anointed on his hands, head and breast with holy oil consecrated in Jerusalem.
After being presented with symbolic regalia, Welby placed the St Edward’s Crown on his head and the congregation cried out “God save the king”.
“God save King Charles. Long live King Charles. May the king live forever,” the congregation at the abbey said after a trumpet fanfare.
Gun salutes were fired at the Tower of London and across the capital, the nation, in Gibraltar, Bermuda and on ships at sea.
The ceremony – televised for only the second time – was an attempt to present a forward-looking monarchy, with those involved reflecting a more diverse country and all its religions.
King Charles III prayed to be a “blessing” to people of “every faith and conviction”, while Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the coronation was “a cherished ritual through which a new era is born”.
“No other country could put on such a dazzling display,” he said in a tweet, adding that it “is not just a spectacle”.
“It’s a proud expression of our history, culture, and traditions.”
Charles’s eldest son and heir Prince William, 40, then knelt before his father to pledge his loyalty as his “liege man of life and limb”.
Prince Harry, the secondborn, was also present at his father’s coronation ceremony but did not play a significant role.
“He had no part to play, this is very similar to his uncle Prince Andrew,” royal biographer Christopher Wilson told Al Jazeera.
Harry and Andrew are no longer “working” members of the royal family. Harry publicly gave up his role in 2020 and wrote a damning book about the royal family, Spare, while Andrew had his duties taken away.
“They are unimportant on an occasion like this when the king is crowned. That shows the difficulties faced within the family are trivial by comparison with the enormity of Charles, who has pledged to the nation that we all should be equal.”
Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle remained in California with children Lilibet and Archie.

The upper echelons of British society would normally have expected to be represented en masse at the coronation, but Charles’s reported wish for the invitation list was for it to be “meritocratic not aristocratic”.
A hundred heads of state were invited to attend, along with royalty ranging from Japan’s Crown Prince Akishino and his wife, Kiko, to Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
The US kept alive its streak of a president never attending a British royal coronation, although First Lady Jill Biden travelled to London to attend.
The guest list also included French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission.
World leaders from Russia, Belarus, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Syria, Venezuela and Iran did not attend. Invitations were issued to senior diplomats, rather than heads of state, for North Korea and Nicaragua.
Some 10,000 people were expected to take part in a coronation concert featuring artists including Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Take That and Andrea Bocelli at Windsor Castle.
South African soprano Pretty Yende, who first met King Charles when she was invited to sing at Windsor Castle by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra last year, was picked to sing solo. She is the first African to do so at a British coronation.
“I’m too excited to be nervous,” she said. “It’s an incredible time of my life as a young girl, as a South African, as an artist, only joy floods my heart.”
‘A historical moment’
Philippe Buch, 33, from France, travelled with a group of Christians from his church to attend coronation day.
“We’re excited because on this day, there’s an earthly coronation. And at the same time, we as Christians, we believe that someday there is going to be a heavenly coronation, like Jesus, right, so we’re excited,” he said.
“It’s a historical moment for UK. So we’re excited about that too.”
Not everyone in the crowd was supportive of the new king. Tom, who declined to give his full name, said he was demonstrating against the royal family.
“I think the monarchy is terrible for democracy,” he said, adding that “they are a symbol of the glorification of colonialism.”
Twenty thousand uniformed security personnel has been sweeping not just London but its surrounding area in the run-up to the coronation ceremony.
Members from the anti-monarchy group Republic had gathered near Trafalgar Square in London a few hours ahead of the coronation ceremony for a “Not My King” protest.
Graham Smith, the leader of the group, was among six people arrested before the coronation ceremony.
“This morning, Graham Smith and 5 members of our team were arrested. Hundreds of placards were seized. Is this democracy?” the group said in a tweet.
“This is the biggest security operation the UK has seen for decades, bigger than the Olympics and the queen’s funeral. It’s all being coordinated from the special operations room central command which has been set up, that’s from Lamerth,” Nusrit Mehtab, former Scotland Yard superintendent, told Al Jazeera.
Monday, May 8, has been declared a public holiday. The royal family has called on Britons to do voluntary work in their communities.
For the best part of a thousand years, the kings and queens of England and the UK have been crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey in a ceremony that has changed little throughout the centuries.
There have been 38 monarchs crowned at the Abbey.
The UK’s last coronation took place in 1953 when Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at the age of 27. Since 1601, there has only been one coronation in the month of May.
Kevin Hart Says Jamie Foxx's Health Has Shown a 'Lot of Progression' After 'Medical Complication'
Kevin Hart is sending love to Jamie Foxx as he recovers from a health scare.
The comedian, 43, appeared on Tuesday's edition of the Impaulsive podcast, where he spoke about the status of Foxx's health after his daughter, Corinne Foxx, issued a statement on Instagram on April 12 revealing that he had sustained a "medical complication" the day prior.
"I think the dope thing is that he's getting better in his situation, and everybody's prayers, everybody's love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt," Hart shared with hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak.
"I don't know the details or the exact details as to what's going on, but to my knowledge, there's a lot of progression and a world of better," he added.
The Jumanji star expressed that his "love, synergy, energy" goes out to Foxx, 55, as he is someone who is "needed" and "necessary."
"I know that he knows that, and I know that he feels that because there's been an outcry and outpour in his regard, and I can only hope that it continues," Hart added.
Multiple sources have told PEOPLE that the Oscar winner is steadily improving as he works toward recovery in a Georgia medical facility.
Friends of Foxx including Kerry Washington, LeBron James, Martin Lawrence, Tracy Morgan, and Steve Harvey have all publicly acknowledged the star's private health battle and extended their well wishes.
On Wednesday, Foxx spoke out for the first time since his hospitalization by writing in an Instagram post: "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed."
Over on his Instagram Story, he also gave a shoutout to Nick Cannon for filling in on his hosting duties for the upcoming season of Beat Shazam: "Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon. See u all soon."
Filming for Foxx's Netflix film Back in Action has also resumed production with a stunt double and photo double standing in for the actor.
A's denounce broadcaster Glen Kuiper's 'unacceptable' racial slur during pregame show
The Oakland Athletics publicly denounced longtime broadcaster Glen Kuiper after he appeared to accidentally use a racial slur during a pregame show in Kansas City.
In the segment, Kuiper appeared alongside former A's pitcher Dallas Braden and told the audience they visited the city's Negro League Museum earlier in the day. However, he seemed to trip over the word "Negro," and the result came out as a racial slur.
Kuiper's words:
"We had a phenomenal day today: N***** League Museum and Arthur Bryant's Barbecue."
Kuiper apologized on the air during the sixth inning between the A's and Kansas City Royals, calling his language a verbal flub.
Kuiper's apology:
"A little bit earlier in the show, I said something, didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to. I just wanted to apologize if it sounded different than I meant it to be said. As I said, I just wanted to apologize for that."
The slur had gone almost entirely unnoticed until that apology, after which some social media users went back and found the clip to share.
Soon after the game, a 12-8 Oakland win, the A's issued a statement via Twitter condemning Kuiper's language and saying they would address the situation.
Negro Leagues Baseball Museum president Bob Kendrick released a statement Saturday explaining he welcomed Kuiper to the museum Friday and that Kuiper was excited to be there.
Kendrick said the word uttered by Kuiper has "no place in our society." Kendrick added that doesn't know Kuiper's heart, but preached forgiveness.
The situation quickly received comparisons to the infamous Thom Brennaman incident of 2020, which also occurred in Kansas City. In that case, the then-Cincinnati Reds broadcaster was caught using a homophobic slur on the air and was quickly suspended by his team, but not before issuing a hasty apology on the air.
The situations differ, however, in that Brennaman was caught on a hot mic, while Kuiper knew he was on the air. Kuiper's language also looked unintentional, while Brennaman admitted to knowing what he was saying.
Kuiper, a former minor league baseball player and brother of San Francisco Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper, has been Oakland's play-by-play announcer since 2006.
Oakland Athletics broadcaster Glen Kuiper was suspended Saturday and will remain off the air until a review of his on-air racial slur is completed, an NBC Sports California spokesperson announced.
The slur occurred during Friday's pregame show ahead of a weekend series opener against the Kansas City Royals. Appearing alongside color commentator Dallas Braden, Kuiper tried to tell the audience the pair had visited Kansas City's Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Unfortunately, it appeared he flubbed the word "Negro," with the result coming out as the slur.
Kuiper's words:
"We had a phenomenal day today: N***** League Museum and Arthur Bryant's Barbecue."
You can see the clip itself here, with a warning it contains NSFW language.
Kuiper, who has been Oakland's television play-by-play commentator since 2006, later issued an apology at the start of the sixth inning, saying his intended words came out as something else.
"A little bit earlier in the show, I said something, didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to. I just wanted to apologize if it sounded different than I meant it to be said. As I said, I just wanted to apologize for that."
NBC Sports California released a statement from Kuiper the next day with a firmer apology:
“I could not be more sorry and horrified by what I said. I hope you will accept my sincerest apologies.”
The A's quickly denounced Kuiper's language after the game, releasing a statement saying they would address the situation.
One person who called for forgiveness was Negro Leagues Museum president Bob Kendrick, who released a statement earlier Saturday denouncing the word used, but noting Kuiper was "genuinely excited" when he visited the museum and welcomed others to forgive Kuiper:
"I'm aware of the unfortunate slur made by Glen Kuiper. I welcomed Glen to the NLBM yesterday and know he was genuinely excited to be here. The word is painful and has no place in our society. And while I don't pretend to know Glen's heart I do know that my heart is one of forgiveness. I hope all of you will find it in ourselves to do the same!"
Former A's great Dave Stewart, who is Black, seconded Kendrick's statement and said his years of knowing Kuiper made him think he deserves a second chance after "an unfortunate mistake."
The A's are on the road for their next five games, returning home May 11 against the Texas Rangers.
Chris Brown And Usher Allegedly Fight At Birthday Party
Chris Brown and Usher’s names have been constantly linked to each other since the rise of Verzuz. Many R&B fans have concluded that they are the best match for each other in a song-for-song competition. There didn’t seem to be any tension between the two until last night (May 5), when Hollywood Unlocked claims the R&B heavyweights were involved in a tense fight. Attendees claim the Usher-hosted surprise birthday party was nice until Chris Brown became disrespectful toward Teyana Taylor.
Individuals from both camps started to intervene before Brown reportedly called Usher a “coward” and stormed out of the function. Hollywood Unlocked stated that Usher followed Brown to rectify the situation, but Brown’s team jumped the Grammy-winning singer, leaving him with a bloody nose.
Lately, Usher has been on record stating that R&B is not dead. During his interview on “Big Boy’s Neighborhood,” he discussed ways to create hype around the genre. A disagreement with Chris Brown was not on his list of remedies. Usher is usually a person that brings people together. His residency in Las Vegas has been the topic of conversation for the last year on social media.
This weekend, many of the music industry’s biggest stars were in Las Vegas ahead of Usher’s annual Lovers and Friends festival. Mario, Bow Wow, and many more were in attendance before the celebration went sour. There are multiple videos of the two singers showing each other love ahead of the alleged incident.
There have been no further comments on the alleged incident from either camp so far. Knowing both sides’ history, there will probably be no further comment on the matter. Whatever happens in Vegas — you know what they say — stays in Vegas. At least for now!
50 Cent, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenya Barris Reportedly Join Forces In BET Bidding War
50 Cent, Kenya Barris, and Shaquille O’Neal reportedly joined the roster of those interested in buying BET.
According to TMZ, the Queens rapper and the Blackish creator were seen outside of Paramount’s New York City offices discussing the possibility of buying the network. The men allegedly partnered with Shaq and investment company, CVC, to make an offer. Barris is also one of BET’s minority stake holders.
“It’s not a done deal, but they’re deep in it,” one rumored source with “direct knowledge” told the outlet. The news comes weeks after Diddy, Tyler Perry, and Byron Allen all tossed their hats in the ring amid the potential sale.
Variety reported that the Bad Boy mogul is “exploring the opportunity to purchase BET as a part of his strategy to build a Black-owned global media powerhouse.” Under his parent company, Combs Global, Diddy already owns REVOLT, which produces linear and digital long-form and multi-platform short-form programming including Drink Champs and Caresha Please.
Wall Street Journal was the first to report on Paramount Global potentially selling BET and explained, “The discussions between Mr. Perry and Paramount come as the company is considering selling the majority stake in BET Media Group, which includes the cable channels BET and VH1, people familiar with the matter said. A potential sale of part of the unit, which caters primarily to Black audiences, is part of the entertainment giant’s effort to shore up resources to bolster its flagship Paramount+ streaming service and its advertiser-supported free streaming platform Pluto TV.”
Paramount Global, formerly Viacom and ViacomCBS, bought BET in October 2000 for $2.34 billion, from its founder Robert L. Johnson. The sale made him the first Black billionaire in the United States.
Prince estate to reveal unreleased music at annual Paisley Park celebration
The seventh anniversary celebration will be themed around the number seven.
It’s been seven years since the world lost Prince. Every year, to mark his birthday, his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota is the venue for a massive celebration of life for the music icon. This year, the “Celebration,” as it’s simply called, will feature some special unreleased music.
Prince’s vault of tunes that never saw the light of day is notoriously huge. Every year, his estate has unveiled some of those songs to the public at the Celebration. The 2023 edition, set to take place June 8-11, will be themed around the number seven.
“This year marks seven years of uplifting Prince’s legacy and carefully preserving his prolific artistic output and his creative sanctuary,” a statement said, per Billboard. “At Celebration 2023, guests will take a deep dive into understanding the cultural significance of seven and how it has been reflected throughout history.”
Prince’s untimely death in April 2016 left a hole in the music industry and especially in his hometown of Minneapolis. Beginning in 2017, his life has been commemorated with the annual Celebration. This year’s festivities will include appearances by Chaka Khan, Chuck D, and Doug E. Fresh. It will also include performances from some Minneapolis natives, including Stokley of Mint Condition, Sounds of Blackness, DJ Rashida, Prince’s New Power Generation band members, Shelby J, The Steeles, and local youth choir Known MPLS.
A tour of the massive compound will split attendees into two groups deemed “Diamonds” and “Pearls.” They’ll have access to Prince’s unreleased recordings and live tapes from throughout his career. The weekend will also include a legacy tribute show paying homage to Rosie Gaines, Prince’s longtime collaborator and a founding member of New Power Generation.
The number seven was significant to the legendary singer. His birthday is June 7 and he frequently referenced the number in his music, most notably with the song “7” from his 1992 album Love Symbol. The number also is frequently associated with wholeness, perfection, and luck.
Dee Snider Calls Himself LGBT Ally Despite Defending Paul Stanley's Anti-Trans Tweet
Dee Snider insists that he's still supportive of LGBT. After he's dropped from this year's San Francisco Pride event for supporting Paul Stanley's transphobic tweet, the rocker issued a statement on his Facebook page on Friday, May 5.
"Why did the San Fransisco Gay Pride Parade invite me, Dee Snider, to be a Grand Marshal in their parade and sing 'We're Not Gonna Take It' on the center stage at what could possibly be the most important LGBTQIA+ gathering in the organization's long history?" Dee wrote. "I was not aware the Transgender community expects fealty and total agreement with all their beliefs and any variation or deviation is considered 'transphobic.' "
The Twisted Sister vocalist went on to say, "So, my lifetime of supporting the Transgender community's right to identify as they want and honoring whatever changes they may make in how they present themselves to the world isn't enough? Why not?"
"I've recently stated I do not believe young children are ready to decide their gender allocation. I believe their choices should be supported and accepted by their parents, but I do not think kids have the mental capabilities to make rational, logical decisions on things of a magnitude that will affect them for the rest of their lives. I do not believe they are mentally developed enough," Snider added.
In his post, which was titled "So, I hear I'm transphobic. Really?", he also offered a plea to the transgender community. "I am a proud moderate. I drive a Tesla and a Hummer. I have too many guns but strongly support intelligent gun control. I have four children yet fight for a woman's right to choose. I am a motorcycle riding environmentalist. I am a heterosexual who proudly supports LBGTQIA+ rights," he said.
"To me (and I believe to many of you) none of these things are mutually exclusive. The Transgender community needs moderates who support their choices, even if we don't agree with every one of their edicts. For some Transgender people (not all) to accuse supporters, like me, of transphobia is not a good look for their cause. Don't reject people who are willing to march, sing and stand with you just because we don't perfectly see eye-to-eye. We are still your allies," the musician continued.
He concluded, "I. Dee Snider, will continue to support the Transgender community and their right to choose even if they reject me and moving forward, I am open to educating myself so I can be a better ally. Sincerely, Dee Snider Your cisgender, crossdressing ally."
San Francisco Pride decided to part ways with Snider after he backed up Paul Stanley's comment about gender-affirming transformation amongst minors. "There is a BIG difference between teaching acceptance and normalizing and even encouraging participation in a lifestyle that confuses young children into questioning their sexual identification as though some sort of game and then parents in some cases allow it," the KISS co-founder said.
He added, "There ARE individuals who as adults may decide reassignment is their needed choice but turning this into a game or parents normalizing it as some sort of natural alternative or believing that because a little boy likes to play dress up in his sister's clothes or a girl in her brother's, we should lead them … down a path that's far from the innocence of what they are doing."
"Children who have no real sense of sexuality or sexual experiences [get] caught up in the 'fun' of using pronouns and saying what they identify, as some adults mistakenly confuse teaching acceptance with normalizing and encouraging a situation that has been a struggle for those truly affected and [has] turned it into a sad and dangerous fad," Stanley continued.
Snider agreed with the statement as he wrote, "You know what? There was a time where I 'felt pretty' too. Glad my parents didn't jump to any rash conclusions! Well said, @PaulStanleyLive."
Mage Wins The 149th Kentucky Derby
The 149th running of the Kentucky Derby took place on Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs. In a thrilling race, Mage, which closed at 15-1 odds to win, was able to use a late charge to overtake Two Phil’s and win the race. You can watch the full race right here.
Two Phil’s was able to hold on for second, while Angel of Empire was able to take third. It was a stunning result for Mage, which entered the day with only three starts under its belt and one win, and now gets to add a win in the Kentucky Derby to its list of accomplishments. Mage was rode by Javier Castellano, a 45-year-old native of Venezuela who had never won the Kentucky Derby despite this being the 16th race in which he participated. After the race, NBC caught up with Castellano to get his reaction to finally getting over the hump.
Next up for Mage in its efforts to win the Triple Crown is the Preakness Stakes, which will take place on Saturday, May 20 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The horse will look to become the first since 2018 to win all three races, when Justify became the 13th horse in history to earn the honor.
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens tie the knot for a Second Time!
The Olympian and her NFL star husband previously exchanged vows on April 22 in Houston, Texas to make their marriage legal ahead of their wedding in Mexico
Simone’s father Ronald Biles walked her down the aisle and the ceremony was officiated by her uncle Paul.
The couple’s official nuptials come after their over-the-top Friday night rehearsal dinner.
Biles sparkled in a shimmering mini dress while her groom looked dapper in a white suit and shorts.
Jonathan was seen walking down the aisle by his mother, Arthurine Cannon, who was dressed in a white sleeveless scoop-neck dress.
The proud mother straightened her long hair and wore silver sandals as she walked on the sand with her son.
She was seen giving him a loving hug as they stood in front of Uncle Paul before sitting in the front row.
“Uncle Paul, aka, is going to be the best officiant you’ve ever seen,” the blushing bride wrote in an Instagram story.
Guests included fellow gymnasts, Melanie De Jesus Dos Santos, Aly Raisman, Maggie Nichols, Madison Kocian, Jordan Chiles and Katelyn Ohashi.
It’s unclear when the two started dating, but they were official when the world champion posted a birthday message to Jonathan on her Instagram Stories two years ago.
“Happy 25th birthday,” she wrote. “I hope this year brings you everything you want and more.”
2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards Will Not Be Held Live
The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards will pivot from a live ceremony to a pre-taped show that will air Sunday.
The show changes announced Friday came hours after the Writers Guild of America said it had planned to picket outside of the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, where the awards had been scheduled to be presented in front of a live audience. The WGA has since canceled its intentions to demonstrate.
“As we carefully navigate how best to deliver the fan first awards’ show we envisioned that our team has worked so hard to create, we’re pivoting away from a live event that still enables us to produce a memorable night full of exclusive sneak peeks, irreverent categories our audience has come to expect and countless moments that will both surprise and delight as we honor the best of film and TV over the past year,” Bruce Gillmer, executive producer of the MTV Movie & TV Awards, said in a statement.
A source told The Hollywood Reporter that there will still be celebrity involvement via pre-taped acceptance speeches.
The ceremony was set to include Drew Barrymore as host, celebrity presenters and an audience. But the 50 First Dates actress announced earlier in the week that she would be dropping out, saying she was doing so in solidarity with the WGA strike. MTV also previously called off the red carpet for the event.
Writers have been on strike across Los Angeles and New York since May 2, after negotiations with studios and streamers collapsed the previous night.

‘Drag Race’ star Shangela accused of rape in new lawsuit
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” fan favorite Darius Jeremy “DJ” Pierce, who goes by the stage name Shangela, was accused of rape in a civil lawsuit filed Wednesday.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that while filming the first season of his hit HBO show “We’re Here” in 2020, Pierce raped one of the show’s former production assistants, Daniel McGarrigle. McGarrigle, 39, is seeking unspecified damages from Pierce, 42, and the show’s production company, Buckingham Television.
McGarrigle alleges the encounter occurred in a Monroe, Louisiana, hotel room following an after-work party in February 2020. The lawsuit states that Pierce purchased and handed McGarrigle five shots of alcohol and two mixed drinks at the party, and asked McGarrigle to come back to Pierce’s hotel to help him pack for an early flight the next day.
suggested McGarrigle spend the night with him in his room, saying, “If you want to lay down in my bed until you feel better, you can do that.” McGarrigle agreed, according to the lawsuit, and passed out on Pierce’s bed fully clothed.
At some point throughout the evening, McGarrigle alleges, he woke up with his pants pulled down and poppers — a liquid commonly used by gay men during anal sex — being poured on the side of his face. McGarrigle then “felt Pierce on the lower half of his body, rubbing his penis against his buttocks, attempting to insert himself into his anus,” the lawsuit says.
In response, McGarrigle claims, he screamed “No!” and tried to fight Pierce off but felt “extremely weak.” Throughout the alleged assault, the lawsuit states, Pierce told McGarrigle, “I know you want it, and you’re going to take it.”
After the encounter, the suit states, McGarrigle was “fearful of losing his job” and “did not immediately report the sexual assault to the authorities or to Buckingham TV,” and he “tried to maintain a cordial relationship with Pierce.” McGarrigle then resigned from the role in the summer of 2021, the suit states.
According to McGarrigle’s attorney, Daniel Gilleon, McGarrigle has been in contact with the Ruston Police Department in northern Louisiana regarding the alleged incident since December. No charges have been filed at this time.
Pierce characterized the allegations as “entirely meritless,” saying in a statement that they “perpetuate damaging stereotypes that are harmful not only to me but also to my entire community.”
“This newest filing is nothing but an attempt to shake down both me and a well-regarded television company,” Pierce said. “No one should be fooled: it has no basis in fact or in law, and it will not succeed.”
A representative for HBO’s “We’re Here” said the network and Buckingham Television received a complaint from McGarrigle in July 2021 regarding “an incident that was alleged to have occurred in early 2020.”
“Buckingham and HBO take the safety and well-being of personnel on our shows very seriously, and Buckingham immediately launched an investigation,” the representative said. “The investigation concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support these allegations.”
After competing in seasons two and three of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and season three of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” Pierce, who has 1.6 million followers on Instagram, became one of the franchise’s breakout stars.
Aside from filming “We’re Here” — a reality show that also stars fellow “Drag Race” alumni Eureka O’Hara and Bob the Drag Queen — Pierce became the first drag queen to compete in the U.S. version of the hit competition series “Dancing With the Stars” last year. In June, Pierce spoke at a Pride event hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris at the vice president’s official residence.
Grand Jury To Determine If Ex-Marine Will Face Charges For Choking NYC Subway Performer To Death
A grand jury will soon determine if criminal charges will be filed against a former Marine who choked a subway rider to death.
The case will likely go before the jury next week, leaving the fate of 24-year-old Daniel Penny in the balance. On May 1st, Penny was filmed putting Jordan Neely in a chokehold on a northbound F train floor on a New York City subway. According to Penny and other witnesses, the well-known street performer was acting erratically in the subway car, allegedly throwing trash and yellng. Instead of ignoring Neely, who had not threatened anyone specifically and did not have a weapon, Penny took it upon himself to restrain the man. He placed the 30-year-old in a chokehold until the man passed away. Penny was questioned and released from custody.
While the fact that Neely was choked to death is being treated as a homicide, the grand jury must decide if Penny planned to kill him. Detectives claim they’ve been unable to determine if Penny was trying to restrain Neely or kill him, even though his training as a Marine would have taught him that this restraint could be deadly, especially when being conducted for 15 minutes. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office confirmed that they are still conducting interviews and will review the autopsy report to conclude what actually killed him.
Protesters and activists have called on the city to better address the homeless and mentally ill population. They are also demanding charges be filed against Penny. Neely was known around the subway for performing like Michael Jackson. He did have documented mental health issues following his mother’s murder nearly a decade ago.
9 Dead, Several Hospitalized After Allen Texas Outlet Mall Shooting
A shooting at Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon left nine people dead including the gunman and others injured, officials said.
Seven people, including the as-yet unidentified suspect, died at the scene according to police. Nine people were transported to regional hospitals, where two later died. As of Saturday evening, three of the victims are in critical condition and two are in stale condition.
The gunman stepped out of a silver sedan and began shooting people after 3:30 p.m., sending hundreds of shoppers fleeing in panic.
Witnesses told The Associated Press they saw multiple victims, including some who appeared to be children, and that they saw a police officer and a mall security guard who appeared to be unconscious on the ground. Police have not provided additional information about the victims as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
An Allen Police officer who was on an unrelated call heard gunshots at 3:36 p.m., then "engaged the suspect and neutralized the threat" according to the police department.
Officials said the shooter appeared to have acted alone according to WFAA-TV.
The Allen officer called for further emergency services, and several other agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) responded.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the shooting, or who has video footage, to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
Allen Police said the active shooter threat had cleared shortly before 7 p.m.
The city in Collin County is approximately 25 miles north of downtown Dallas.
A crowd of hundreds of people who had been shopping stood across the street from the mall Saturday evening. Officers circulated among them, asking if anyone had seen what happened.
Allen Mayor Ken Fulk said that President Joe Biden and Gov. Greg Abbott had called him to express their support and willingness to help the community.
"Allen is a proud and safe city which makes today’s senseless act of violence even more shocking," said Fulk.
"We are a strong and caring community and we want all of the victims and their families impacted by this tragedy to know that we will wrap our arms around you, and we are here for you."
The governor and local legislators offered their prayers and resources.
"Our hearts are with the people of Allen, Texas tonight during this unspeakable tragedy," Abbott said in a statement.
U.S. Rep Keith Self (R-TX-3) also said his prayers are with the victims, their families, and "all law enforcement on the scene."
"We are devestated (sic) by the tragic news of the shootings that took place at the Allen Premium Outlets today," Self posted on Twitter.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R) said he and his wife Heidi are praying for the families of the victims, and for the broader Collin County community "that’s in shock from this tragedy."
"Thank you to the incredible law enforcement who put a stop to the monster who committed this act of evil," Cruz continued.
