Lil Nas X Covers 'EW' Pride Issue!
Lil Nas X covers the Pride Issue of EW, in which he talks about his latest hit and his haters.
The rap star said “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” almost didn’t happen because “at first I was really afraid of alienating any of my straight fans." But, he added, "then it was kind of like, if they feel offended, they were never really here for me. They were here for whatever version of myself they made up in their head.”
The track debuted at No. 1 and is still in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 after five weeks. “Montero” has proven that the 22-year-old “Old Town Road” rapper is no one-hit wonder.
Of course, popularity breeds contempt – but Lil Nas X said he has gained a new perspective on his haters.
“When I first got famous, I would block everybody. But now it's like, okay, cool,” he explained. “For me, I would rather somebody hate the s**t out of me when they're talking about me rather than not say anything at all, because that's giving more power to my name.”
The rapper makes no apologies for clapping back at many of the people who come at him on social media.
“I almost never want to start shooting at somebody who didn't bring it to my doorstep, you know? But I kind of live for when somebody tries to get me and I'm ready to throw it back at them tenfold,” he admitted. “Do I feel bad about it sometimes? Every now and then, but I feel less bad knowing that I didn't start it.
“I try to never throw stones, but if somebody throws one at me, I'm throwing an entire house.”
#RHOA: Will Tanya Sam Be Back For the Next Season of RHOA?
Company owner and tech entrepreneur Tanya Sam made her debut in Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA )— and she became a fan favorite in no time.
Tanya announced that she withdrew herself from the filming of Season 13 of RHOA in November 2020, after the first rumors about Cynthia Bailey's engagement party (aka the "Strippergate") got out. She didn't appear in the RHOA "Reunion Part 1" either. So, did Tanya quit RHOA altogether? Will she be back in Season 14?
Tanya announced that she wouldn't be appearing in the rest of Season 13 of RHOA in November 2020, after learning that Cynthia's bachelorette party — and the steamy scenes that ensued — were going to be heavily promoted.
Tanya didn't appear in "Reunion Part 1," and she isn't credited on "Reunion Part 2" either. As sources told TMZ back then, she didn't officially quit RHOA, however.
As Kenya Moore previously alleged, Tanya and Porsha Williams were the most likely to have participated in a threesome with Bolo, the actor and exotic dancer also in attendance at Cynthia's party. The claims quickly took on a new life on social media.
"I will address this topic now and will not entertain this absurdity any further. The rumor circulating about me is not true," she responded to the allegations via an Instagram post shared on Oct. 10, 2020.
In a previous episode of RHOA, however, Tanya seemingly confirmed that she slept in Porsha's room that night.
"All I know is that I spent the night in this girl's [while gesturing at Porsha Williams] room," Tanya remarked in a crucial scene of Episode 11.
"I know Porsha's voice. I know it was her in the room, and Tanya admitted to being in the room with Porsha. Case closed," Kenya replied.
Aside from the scene, Tanya maintained that she played no role in the tryst.
Tanya met her fiancΓ©, Paul Judge, almost a decade ago. Their relationship was put to a test several times since Tanya first appeared on RHOA, however.
In a Season 12 episode of the show, a mystery woman dubbed as the "The Cookie Lady" (real name: Shiana White) claimed that she had a flirtatious exchange with Paul. Things quickly got out of hand — leaving Tanya and Paul in the undoubtedly uncomfortable position of having to defend their relationship repeatedly.
According to TMZ, Tanya was dissatisfied with the edit — so much so that it might have played a role in her decision to abandon the filming of Season 13 of RHOA in a seemingly abrupt manner.
It's understood that Tanya only fled the filming of Season 13. She has yet to share further updates on where she stands. It's unknown if she intends to return to RHOA in the future.
Catch new episodes of RHOA every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
#MusicNews: The Weeknd Still Boycotting Grammys After Rule Change!
The Weeknd will continue to boycott the Grammys. Last week, the Recording Academy announced that it would eliminate the “secret” nominations review committees. Now the “Blinding Lights” singer has responded to the rule change. In a statement to Variety, he called the decision an “important start,” while doubling down on his previous comments.
“The trust has been broken for so long between the Grammy organization and artists that it would be unwise to raise a victory flag,” he said. “I think the industry and public alike need to see the transparent system truly at play for the win to be celebrated, but it’s an important start.”
However, The Weeknd will still withhold his music from consideration in the future. “I remain uninterested in being a part of the Grammys, especially with their own admission of corruption for all these decades. I will not be submitting in the future.”
His manager, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, added, “No change comes without a voice heard. I’m just proud of Abel for standing up for what he believes in. I was in a shock when all this happened but now I see it clearly, and I’m glad we stood for our beliefs.”
In November, The Weeknd blasted the Grammys after being shut out of the 2021 nominations despite the success of his latest album, After Hours.
“The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…” he tweeted, while vowing to boycott the awards. “Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys,” he told The New York Times.
The “secret” committees have faced growing criticism in recent years. These anonymous expert committees were put in place to review the initial nomination choices from voting members and ultimately decide who makes the cut in 61 of the Grammys’ 84 categories.
“It’s been a year of unprecedented, transformational change for the Recording Academy, and I’m immensely proud to be able to continue our journey of growth with these latest updates to our awards process,” Harvey Mason Jr., the Academy’s interim president and CEO, said after the decision. “This is a new Academy, one that is driven to action and that has doubled down on the commitment to meeting the needs of the music community.”
#HipHopNews: Quavo And Saweetie Won’t Face Criminal Charges For Elevator Fight!
Quavo and Saweetie are both off the hook in their infamous elevator fight.
Neither rapper will face criminal charges for the physical altercation that was caught on camera. According to TMZ, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges. Due to insufficient evidence, there was no likelihood of a conviction for either party.
Surveillance video, captured prior to the couple’s breakup, shows them struggling over an orange Call of Duty case. Saweetie seems to take the first swing at Quavo before he grabs her by the arm and drags her to the elevator floor. She remains on the floor until the elevator eventually stops and she limps out.
The LAPD was investigating the incident and wanted to interview both Quavo and Saweetie separately to determine what happened before and after the elevator footage was captured.
Saweetie later acknowledged that the altercation happened a year ago when the couple was still together. Since the fight, they were able to reconcile, but other issues led to their eventual breakup.
“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” said Saweetie.
Quavo also released a statement, denying that he was physically abusive to his ex-girlfriend. “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from,” he said. “I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”
After taking a shot at her ex on her recent song “See Saw,” Saweetie is single and moving on. “I’ve learned that the world doesn’t stop for anybody,” she told W Magazine after their breakup. “And it’s for sure not going to stop for me just because I got my heart broke.”

Jaleel White Says He Was ‘Not Welcomed at all’ to ‘Family Matters’ Cast!
Jaleel White’s Steve Urkel character has become one of the most iconic super-nerds of all-time, and is widely credited for helping Family Matters’ secure a successful nine-season run. However, the now-44-year-old actor says his introduction to the show wasn’t exactly smooth, as the original main cast didn’t welcome him with open arms.
via: The Grio: In a recent interview, however, White is digging deep into his past on the sitcom, revealing that while he clearly became the star of the show, the cast did not necessarily welcome the young actor with open arms.
White is set to appear on an episode of TV One’s Uncensored, in which he goes all in on the history of his iconic role and time on “Family Matters.”
In a preview, White explains, “I was not welcomed to the cast at all. They know what it was…I didn’t think anything of it being cast to be on Family Matters, because it was supposed to be a guest spot, one and done.”
Later in the clip, White also breaks down how he reacted to his characters of Steve Urkel and also the famous alter ego, Stefan Urquelle.
He shares in the preview, “I was as caught off guard by the phenomenon of Stefan as anyone…all of America thought I was this way.”
Later, the actor opens up about his co-star Michelle Thomas, who passed away in 1998 of stomach cancer at the age of 30. She played his girlfriend on the show.
He says in the clip, “Michelle Thomas became a very special person…I literally cannot say her name or I’ll cry,” he said while holding back tears.
The Family Matters cast came together in 2017 for an official reunion with Entertainment Weekly. At the time, White acknowledged Thomas’ absence from the photoshoot on Instagram, calling her a “little ray of sunshine.” He shared in the caption: “No reunion would be complete without me acknowledging our beloved Michelle Thomas ?? This little ray of sunshine gave me some of the best physical comedy moments I’ll ever play on screen. Michelle’s smile never failed to brighten your day and I will forever miss my bubbly Myra Monkhouse #RIP?1968-1998 ?? I love you, Michelle #prayersup??.”
Jaleel White’s episode of Uncensored will air this Sunday at 10 p.m. EST on TV One.
‘Six’ Musical Sets September Broadway Return For A Long-Delayed Opening Night!
Count Six as Number 2 – the second Broadway musical in as many days to announce a reopening date: The crowd-pleasing contemporary-pop take on the wives of Henry VIII will begin performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Friday, Sept. 17, with an official opening night of Sunday, Oct. 3.
Tickets to Six will go on sale to the general public Monday, May 10. Producers Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Kevin McCollum made the announcement today.
The musical had initially been set to open on March 12, 2020 – the very date Broadway was shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show had already begun previews (and critics likely had reviews filed and ready to post). The reopening cast was not announced today.
The reopening announcement comes a day after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo gave the go-ahead for Broadway to open its doors this September to 100% capacity audiences, providing the venues require proof of vaccination or negative Covid test results. Otherwise, the venues would have to maintain CDC guidelines for social distancing and limited capacities, which the industry has rejected as economically unfeasible.
Yesterday, the long-running The Phantom of the Opera became the first Broadway production to announce its post-Covid return, with performances beginning Friday, Oct. 22.
As with Phantom, producers said Six will adhere to New York State, New York City and CDC safety guidelines, remaining flexible and adaptable to protocols, including face coverings. Neither production disclosed vaccine or testing requirements.
“It feels so unreal to be writing this, but we are both unbelievably excited Broadway is returning and that Six will finally open on Broadway,” said the pop musical’s creators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss in a statement. “And this is not just because we can’t wait to be reunited with our Broadway family, but also because Six opening means that the theatre industry is on the road to returning.
“Soon the theater community will be able to come together after a year of unimaginable challenges – and this is what fills us with just absurd and ridiculous amounts of happiness,” the duo continued, ending their statement with “WOOOO!”
Six, which allows each of the wives more than a moment in the musical spotlight to reclaim her identity from the shadows of history and Henry, began as a student production in a 100-seat venue during the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, quickly gaining a worldwide audience. At the time of the shutdown, the musical was playing to sold out houses in London’s West End, and across the UK and Australia.
“To say it’s been a long time coming would be an understatement and we are profoundly grateful to begin…anew,” said producer Kevin McCollum in a statement.
Six is co-directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage and features choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille.
Meek Mill Shares First Photo of His Baby Boy, Czar!
Meek Mill shared the first image of his youngest son.
via: Complex: The Dreamchasers boss posted the picture on Wednesday afternoon, just hours before he and his son celebrated their birthdays: “Happy bday Czar,” Meek captioned the image, “Love you. Tomar your first big day!!!! ??????? can’t wait to see you …”
The photo shows the nearly 12-month-old rocking some iced-out jewelry and a bucket hat, indicating the affinity for flexing runs in the family.
Meek, who also has two older sons, announced the birth of Czar via Twitter on his 33 birthday last May. He described the family addition as “the best gift,” and confirmed Harris was the child’s mother.
Several months after welcoming Czar, Meek and Harris announced their decision to separate. Meek didn’t provide details on what led to the split, but told fans they remain good friends and still love one another.
“Me and Milano decided to remain friends and build our child as separate parents … we still have mad love for each other but we both came to a understanding,” the rapper wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post this past July. “no fall out either, just moving forward! Still love! This for protection so social media wont think we moving wrong.”

Happy Birthday Czar.
Josh Duggar's Computer Reportedly Had Porn Detection Software That Sent Reports to Wife Anna!
Nearly a week after he was arrested and charged with the receipt and possession of child pornography, Josh Duggar will be released from jail. KNWA News in Arkansas reported that Duggar was granted release by U.S. District Court Western District of Arkansas Judge Christy Comstock. He could be released from jail as early as Thursday, which would come exactly one week after his arrest.
Details regarding his arrest are coming out, with each new revelation more disturbing than the last. People reports that Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Gerald Faulkner, testifying for the prosecution, alleged that the former 19 Kids and Counting star downloaded computer files depicting child sex abuse on May 14, 15, and 16 of 2019, with one of the files featuring child sex abuse involving children ranging from 18 months to 12 years of age. Faulkner claimed that the images were "in the top five of the worst of the worst that I've ever had to examine."
Faulker also shared that when homeland security officials raided Duggar's car dealership and asked to speak with him without explaining why they were there, Duggar "spontaneously" responded, "What is this about? Has someone been downloading child pornography?" When asked point-blank about looking at or possessing child pornographic material, Duggar said that he'd "rather not answer that question."
Faulkner also said Duggar had a program called Covenant Eyes installed on his computer that he described as "accountability software," which monitors and reports suspicious internet usage to a partner and is supposed to help people with pornography addictions. Faulkner explained that while the software was registered to the couple and that his wife, Anna, was set up to get notifications, Duggar was able to acquire the images undetected by using a password-protected network.
Duggar has been charged with a two-count indictment that alleges one count of receipt of child pornography and another count of possession of child pornography. Duggar has pleaded not guilty on both of these charges and has been released on bail. There are conditions to go along with Duggar's release from prison. His legal team argued that he should be able to return to his home with his wife, Anna Duggar, who is currently pregnant, and their six children. However, he will not be allowed to return to his home and will be staying with a third-party custodian. The probation officer involved in this case, Diem Nguyen, recommended that Duggar remains in custody.
Trey Songz Sued For Allegedly Punching Bartender!
Trey Songz may be off the hook in his fight with cops, but he’s facing new allegations.
The R&B star is being sued for battery by a bartender at the Hollywood Palladium, who says he was working at the bar during Cardi B’s Fashion Nova launch party on May 9, 2019 when Trey jumped on the bar to sit and watch the show.
In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the bartender claims Trey ignored his warning not to sit on the bar, so he put his hand on Trey’s back to get his attention. That’s when the “Bottoms Up” singer allegedly turned around and punched the bartender in the head with a closed fist. He then looked at the other bartenders blankly and continued watching the show.
The bartender claims he suffered physical pain and emotional and psychological injury as a result of the alleged attack, and is suing for damages.
Last week, it was reported that Trey won’t face criminal charges for his physical altercation with cops at an NFL playoff game in Kansas City earlier this year. Trey was arrested, but the prosecutor decided not to file charges against him due to insufficient evidence.
Dr. Ian Smith Says ‘Tamron Hall Show’ Doesn’t Feature Black Experts Unless They’re Involved In A Celebrities!
“The Tamron Hall Show” is seemingly being called out yet again. This time, it’s by Dr. Ian Smith. In an interview with “The Karen Hunter Show,” Smith accused a Black-led daytime television show of refusing to book Black experts unless they’re trending for something negative in nature.
“There are a lot of people who look like me, who are equally educated, equally articulate, who are not getting a platform on major shows. And, you know, they won’t bring on African-American or Latinx people as experts to talk about things like education or sociology or medicine or law. They will only bring us on when we’re an entertainer or an athlete or we do something salacious. There is a talk show with an African-American host and an African-American executive producer that has said to publicists do not pitch us your Black clients we are not a Black show, pitch us your white clients, we don’t want to be looked at as a Black show,” he said. “They will bring on Black experts when they do something salacious or they’re in the headlines for doing something bad. Then they’ll bring Black people on to talk about that.”
Smith added that he found it necessary to call the show out because we would definitely be doing so if the hosts were white.
“I’m putting this show on blast because when white shows and hosts don’t let us on we criticize them, but the same criticism has to be held when a show is helmed and hosted by Black people that keep us off the airwaves and it’s just not right,” said Smith
While he did not name Hall specifically, Hunter assumed that he was referencing the veteran television journalist because, well, there are but so many Black hosts in the daytime TV space right now.
“Is it a she? Was she formerly on cable, and then moved to NBC and then moved on to her own show with her name on it?” asked Hunter before Smith finally smiled and nodded.
“Tamron Hall you heard it,” said Hunter.
Beyonce Was Written Into Netflix’s Selena Series & Fans Have Mixed Reactions About It!
Netflix recently launched part two of its Selena: The Series and fans are speaking out after an encounter a childhood Beyonce had with the late singer was written into it.
The show chronicles the iconic Mexican-American performer’s rise to fame singing Tejano music, and the sacrifices she and her family had to make on the journey to achieve their dreams.
The Grammy Award winner [also regarded as the “Queen of Tejano Music”], was a celebrated entertainer, songwriter, model, fashion designer, and businesswoman. In 1995, she was tragically murdered in Corpus Christi, Texas by a business associate she trusted to operate her clothing boutiques and fan mail operations.
The story of Selena Quintanilla-Perez was originally told in a biographical movie in 1997. Jennifer Lopez was originally featured in the biopic as the musical legend.
With support from Selena’s family, Netflix turned Selena’s story into a TV adaptation of her life, with a more centralized focus on her childhood and family relationships.
In one of the new episodes, a moment between young Beyonce and Selena was documented.
Fans reacted to the show’s account with mixed thoughts.
What are your thoughts on Netflix airing Beyonce and Selena’s interaction?
Meghan Markle may have received $700K advance for kids’ book, royal expert says!
Meghan Markle may have been paid up to $700,000 as an advance for her kids’ book, according to Prince Harry’s biographer.
Angela Levin told the Sun that while the Duchess of Sussex’s financial deal has not been disclosed, “there are rumors that she was offered £500,000 advance,” which is equivalent to $695,400.
“But we don’t know, even if she has been offered this massive advance, whether she will give any money away to charity or whether she will keep it for herself,” noted Levin.
“They’ve got a lot of expenses, what with their guards and big house and 16 bathrooms to look after,” she said of the Sussexes’ new financially independent life in a sprawling mansion in California.
Levin — who combined her interviews with Harry in the 2018 book “Harry: Conversations with the Prince” — called it “laughable” that Markle used her Duchess of Sussex title for her debut book, “The Bench.”
“They wanted to get away from the royal family, they hated the royal family — they felt trapped,” she noted of the couple’s gripes during their TV tell-all with Oprah Winfrey.
“They didn’t like it, they wanted freedom and they’ve got freedom. You can’t have everything you want like that,” Levin insisted.
“You don’t use your royal position to make commercial gain,” she said.
She said the planned price for “The Bench” — £12.99 in the UK, and $18.99 in the US — is “not extortionate.”
“But I’m not quite sure who will read it,” she said.
“Little children I don’t think will read that, maybe it will be people who just want to know what she’s up to now.”
Angela Levin says it’s laughable that Meghan Markle used her royal title for her children’s book.
Kim Kardashian Denies Claims That She Purchased Roman Statue ‘Looted’ From Italy!
Kim Kardashian has been accused of buying an illegally exported ancient Roman statue from Italy. She claims, however, that she was unaware of the exchange.
According to documents filed in a California court last Friday, the sculpture in question is a 1st or 2nd century AD limestone sculpture. According to CNN, the monument was confiscated by federal authorities at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport in 2016 due to a lack of details about its source. Officials later concluded that the piece was “looted, stolen, and illegally exported” in a shipment containing 40 pieces valued at about $745,000. There was no mention of archeological discoveries on the customs type.
The importer was allegedly identified as Kardashian’s trust, but a spokesperson for the multi-hyphenate refuted the claims, saying Kardashian never purchased the statue and that “this is the first that she has learned of its existence.”
“We believe that it may have been purchased using her name without authorization and because it was never received (and) she was unaware of the transaction,” the spokesperson told CNN. “We encourage an investigation and hope that it gets returned to the rightful owners.”
Axel Vervoordt was also identified as one of the item’s shippers in court records. Authorities in Italy claim Vervoordt had the sculpture in his possession as early as 2011, a year before he allegedly purchased it. Officials refer to a photograph taken at the European Fine Art Fair in 2011 that shows the artifact on display at Vervoordt’s booth at the annual art fair.
Vervoordt’s spokesperson told CNN that he and his team were “informed only yesterday that the US government has filed for forfeiture” of the sculpture. “There is no evidence that this piece was illegally imported from Italy. Our client, as well as our gallery and the gallery from whom we’ve bought the piece, have always acted in good faith when dealing with the work.”
According to Italian officials, the item should be returned “in accordance with the bilateral agreement between Italy and the United States.”
