Rihanna Covers All 'Harper's Bazaar' September Issues Globally!
Rihanna is on the cover of not one, not two, but 26 September issues from across the globe this year — thanks to Harper's Bazaar.
The 32-year-old performer, beauty and fashion mogul and style icon appears on every single one of the title's international editions for September 2020, photographed by Gray Sorrenti and creative directed by Jen Brill.
Throughout the spread, she's styled in pieces from Chanel, Miu Miu and other labels with her own designs from Fenty and Savage X Fenty interspersed throughout. (Her beauty looks, of course, are courtesy of her own Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin lines.) In many of the photographs, Rihanna appears at home — standing in front of an open fridge in a slouchy Max Mara coat, changing out the lightbulb in Amina Muaddi shoes, taking out the trash in a vintage tee and lacy undies (below), lounging about in bed in a bra and embellished skirt and so on.
In the accompanying story for the U.S. edition, Kahlana Barfield Brown writes about her first impression upon meeting Rihanna in 2007. She also details how the multi-hyphenate has historically used her platform to speak out and act on issues she cares about and explores the impact — and importance — of the growing Fenty empire.
The September 2020 issue of Harper's Bazaar U.S. will be available on newsstands on September 8
#RHOA: The Cast Is ‘Annoyed’ But ‘Not Surprised’ NeNe Leakes Hasn’t Signed Her Season 13 Contract Yet!
Filming for season 13 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta has officially kicked off without OG NeNe Leakes.
The 52-year-old has yet to sign her season 13 contract. This is the second season in a row that NeNe has been absent from the start of filming due to contract negotiations.
“The ladies are a little annoyed that Nene hasn’t signed her contract yet. They feel she does this every year and puts herself on this pedestal, and they just roll their eyes a bit over it,” a production source tells HollywoodLife. “They’re not surprised.”
Veteran Housewives Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams, and Kandi Burruss have returned for season 13. Newbie Drew Sidora will join them.
Marlo Hampton and Tanya Sam are also returning as “friends” of the Housewives. Latoya Ali is also rumored to be joining the cast – however, it’s unclear what role she will play.
The ladies of the ATL “all still want [NeNe] to return because she does make good TV, but they’re fine with her departing,” the source explains.
“They’re very excited to have Drew join them on the cast, and there’s a lot of chatter of one other lady potentially joining as well,” the source teases.
“Everyone’s still very early into filming with Cynthia’s wedding and that storyline being day-to-day due to the pandemic,” adds the insider.
Meanwhile, NeNe insists that it’s not her fault she hasn’t signed her season 13 contract yet.
“I know a lot of people think it’s [my fault I haven’t signed my contract]. Nene is not doing that,” NeNe said during an Instagram Live session on July 29. “I’m still in a holding pattern. Let me start there. I also want to say that it’s not me, it’s them.”
And if you think it’s all about the money for the RHOA OG, think again.
In July, a source told HollywoodLife that NeNe “wants to be paid what she feels she deserves, and she knows her worth. But it’s also about receiving support to ensure it’s no longer the work environment where she feels set up and attacked just for good TV.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo for season 13 in late 2020 or early 2021.
#NewMusic from Ledisi and PJ Morton “Anything for You”!
Ledisi had already given us one of our favorite R&B songs this year with her hit single “Anything for You”. She takes the song to yet another level by adding PJ Morton for a special duet remix.
The new version of the song only adds to the anticipation for Ledisi’s upcoming album “The Wild Card”. We recently got another taste of that project with the Ivan Barias produced song “Where I Am”.
LISTEN HERE
This will be the first new album from Ledisi since she released “Let Love Rule” in 2017. Everything we’ve heard from the project so far is letting us know this will be yet another great album from one of the brightest stars we have in R&B right now.
#HipHopNews: The Weeknd And Juice Wrld To Release Collaboration!
The Weeknd is teaming up with Juice WRLD on their first collaboration, which is set to arrive this Thursday night. Earlier today, The Weeknd teased the highly-anticipated track with the late Chicago rapper.
The collaboration has been a long time coming. Back in September, Juice tweeted about working with Abel, and now it seems his dream will come to fruition.
“Me and The Weeknd would make a diamond record…” he wrote.
This will mark the first collaboration between the two. Both continue to dominate the charts. Juice WRLD’s posthumous album Legends Never Die debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is currently No. 3, while The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” is No. 5 on the Hot 100.
On Friday, The Weeknd will host a live virtual concert on TikTok. As part of the app’s “first-ever in-app cross reality experience,” a digital avatar of the singer will perform a series of tracks from his chart-topping album After Hours.
Dr. Dre’s Wife Challenges Prenup In $1 Billion Divorce!
After announcing their separation in June, the couple is at odds over the prenuptial agreement. In legal documents, obtained by TMZ, Nicole Young claims that she unwillingly signed a prenup in 1996.
Nicole says the hip-hop mogul is now worth $1 billion and felt pressured to sign the prenup. “I was extremely reluctant, resistant and afraid to sign the agreement and felt backed into a corner,” she said. “Given the extraordinary pressure and intimidation by Andre, I was left with no option but to hire a lawyer (of course, with the help of Andre’s team of professionals) and unwillingly signed the agreement very shortly before our marriage.”
Two years into the marriage, Dre allegedly destroyed the prenup and claimed it null. “Andre acknowledged to me that he felt ashamed he had pressured me into signing a premarital agreement and he tore up multiple copies of the agreement in front of me,” she added. “Since the day he tore up the agreements, we both understood that there was no premarital agreement, and that it was null and void.”
However, sources close to Dre tell a different story, claiming he never tore up the prenup or said it was invalid. Sources also say Nicole had her own lawyer and was in no way pressured into signing the papers.
Dre has agreed to pay spousal support and all Nicole’s expenses, but she is seeking more, claiming he amassed most of his fortune during their marriage.
The couple split after 24 years of marriage. They share two children, a son named Truice, 23, and a daughter named Truly, 19. Nicole is asking the judge to separate the divorce from the prenup issue.
Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively Apologize For Plantation Wedding!
"Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds said he and his wife, actress Blake Lively, are "deeply and unreservedly sorry for" for holding their 2012 wedding ceremony at a South Carolina plantation.
"It’s impossible to reconcile," Reynolds told Fast Company, in a profile published Tuesday. "What we saw at the time was a wedding venue on Pinterest. What we saw after was a place built upon devastating tragedy."
Reynolds and Lively got married at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, which features nine slave cabins, referred to as "Slave Street." The move was criticized at the time, but came under renewed scrutiny in 2018 after Reynolds tweeted in support of "Black Panther," the first superhero movie to feature a majority Black cast, and was accused of hypocrisy.
The wedding industry has also been responding to plantation weddings' role in glamorizing sites of violence against Black people. Last year, Pinterest and The Knot banned pictures of all plantation weddings on its platform, including Reynolds' and Lively's.
"Weddings should be a symbol of love and unity. Plantations represent none of those things," a spokesperson for Pinterest said at the time, per The Washington Post. "We are working to limit the distribution of this content and accounts across our platform, and continue to not accept advertisements for them."
Reynolds and Lively appeared to express regret over their plantation wedding earlier this year, but this is the first time they've explicitly apologized for it.
"We're ashamed that in the past we've allowed ourselves to be uninformed about how deeply rooted systemic racism is," the couple wrote on Instagram announcing a $200,000 donation to the NAACP legal defense fund in May, following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. "We want to educate ourselves about other people's experiences and talk to our kids about everything, all of it ... especially our own complicity."
Reynolds also revealed in the Fast Company interview that he and Lively, parents to three daughters, later exchanged vows in a separate ceremony.
"Years ago we got married again at home — but shame works in weird ways. A giant f------ mistake like that can either cause you to shut down or it can reframe things and move you into action," Reynolds said. "It doesn’t mean you won’t f--- up again. But repatterning and challenging lifelong social conditioning is a job that doesn’t end.”
Reynolds recently announced he's launching the Group Effort Initiative, a program focused on providing training to Black people and people from other underrepresented groups to support them as they pursue careers in the film industry.
Lively has also been criticized separately for creating a lifestyle website called Preserve in 2014 that celebrated the Antebellum South — the period before the Civil War when slavery was still allowed — that featured a photoshoot titled "The Allure of Antebellum" without acknowledging the atrocities that took place during the period.
"The term 'Southern Belle' came to fruition during the Antebellum period (prior to the Civil War), acknowledging women with an inherent social distinction who set the standards for style and appearance," read the website, according to Vox. "These women epitomized Southern hospitality with a cultivation of beauty and grace."
Lively has not commented specifically on the Antebellum spread, but acknowledged that the website fell short in a 2015 interview with Vogue about her decision to end Preserve.
“We have an incredible team of people who do beautiful work, but we launched the site before it was ready, and it never caught up to its original mission: It’s not making a difference in people’s lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way,” Lively told Vogue.
Zoe Saldana on Nina Simone Biopic Controversy: ‘I Should Have Never Played Nina’!
Zoe Saldana faced a slew of criticism when she decided to portray Nina Simone in Cynthia Mort's 2016 biopic Nina. Before Saldana's performance even hit the table for judgment, people let it be known that Simone's place and life as a dark-skinned Black woman were being rewritten when Saldana took on the role.
This moved Saldana to apologize for playing Simone and not using her position to advocate for other Black actors. During a recent livestream, the Guardians of the Galaxy star made it clear that taking on the role of Simone was a bad decision and something she never should have done.
"I should have never played Nina," Saldana said. "I should have done everything in my power with the leverage that I had 10 years ago—which was a different leverage but it was leverage nonetheless—I should have tried everything in my power to cast a Black woman to play an exceptionally perfect Black woman."
In Nina, Saldana not only used makeup to darken her skin, she also allowed production to fit her with a prosthetic nose so her features would resemble the iconic songwriter and performer. Many people saw this as transformation and her portrayal as neo-colorism.
Saldana's father is Dominican and her mother is Puerto Rican. Although she identifies as Afro-Latinx, there are certain privileges she is granted—which all people with lighter skin have—that aren't afforded to people with darker skin. Instead of using this position to lobby for an actor that looks more like Simone, Saldana decided to use her privilege to try to straddle the fence. She now recognizes this was a mistake after falling off the makeshift balance-beam she created.
"I thought back then that I had the permission because I was a Black woman," Saldana said. "And I am. But, it's Nina. And Nina had a life and a journey that should be honored to the specific detail."
Nina co-starred David Oyelowo and featured Kevin Mambo, Mike Epps, and Keith David. It was the feature writing/directing debut for Cynthia Mort, a white TV writer/producer from shows like Roseanne and Will & Grace.
Saldana went on to say that someone else should "step up" and tell Nina Simone's story in a way that evades any controversy and truly puts her life and journey in perspective.
"We've been appropriating ourselves with someone like Nina Simone for a very long time," she continued, wiping away tears. "And I just want her story to be told and I want it to be right because she deserves it."
And it's worth noting that Netflix's Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated 2015 documentary What Happened, Miss Simone? kind of negated the need for Mort's biopic in the first place:
Singer Jaguar Wright Alleges Common Sexually Assaulted Her!
With the tragic news of The Roots’ founding member Malik B’s passing echoing through the Hip Hop and music worlds, it’s saddening that more bad news is coming out of the Soulquarian camp, as Philly native Jaguar Wright makes some serious accusations about The Roots’ handling of Malik B’s terminal cancer diagnosis and Wright’s own personal claim that she was sexually assaulted by famed rapper, actor and fellow Soulquarian Common.
According to an almost hour-long IG TV video, Philly native and Soulquarian singer Jaguar Wright say that despite Malik B’s impending health decline, Black Thought and ?uestlove turned their back on their fellow crew member.
“Y’all all online talking about respect the family and this and that, but you didn’t respect your brother enough to come get him when he was doing bad,” Jaguar Wright said. “Y’all wasn’t trying to help him, y’all was telling people to turn their back on him while calling him a drug addict.”
Wright also accuses Erykah Badu and Jill Scott of silently abetting their actions after Malik was the only Roots member who didn’t treat them unfairly at the beginning of their careers.
“Erykah you haven’t posted anything but you’re supposed to be this enlightened mother,” Wright said. “You haven’t said a word about my brother when he was the only one who wasn’t treating your ass like sh*t because you weren’t from Philly, but you quiet now. I’m killing all that fake sh*t.”
In a separate IG Live session, Wright exposes her relationship with famed Soulquarian Common, who she admits to dating, but claims that the rapper/actor sexually assaulted her.
“Gotdamn Common, next thing I know we go to bed he like, ‘Oh, c’mon Jag.’ No, n*gga I’m tired. I was on the stage all night, I’ma lay down,” Wright says of one encounter. “I lay down in the bed with my clothes on. I’m a rape survivor, I know how to buy myself a little time. Just in case a n*gga try to get out of hand. You gotta pull my pants down. By the time you pull my pants down I’m hooking you off in your jaw.”
She continued, “Next thing I know, I wake up the next morning I feel something poking at my face and sh*t. I open my mouth and this n*gga trying to stick his d*ck in my f*cking mouth! Lonnie f*cking Lynn, Common, whatever the f*ck you want to call yourself. That’s why I stopped f*cking with him!”

Kevin Hart publicly supports Ellen DeGeneres as criticism grows: She's shown me 'love and respect from day 1'!
Kevin Hart is showing his support for Ellen DeGeneres amid the scandal surrounding her daytime talk show.
Hart, who has faced his own share of public scrutiny, took to Instagram Tuesday to call DeGeneres “one of the dopest people” and say he’s standing “by the ones that I know and that I love.” He went on to call the internet “a crazy world of negativity,” where the downfall of people is celebrated.
Hart wrote that it’s been “crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly,” referring to The Ellen DeGeneres Show being under investigation amid claims of it being a toxic work environment. While most of the allegations pertain to show producers, including a culture of racism, sexual harassment and intimidation, DeGeneres’s “be kind” reputation has also been called into question.
“I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the f**king planet,” the fellow comedian wrote. “She has treated my family and my team with love and respect from day 1.”
Hart continued, “The internet has become a crazy world of negativity....we are falling in love with peoples down fall. It’s honestly sad...When did we get here? I stand by the ones that I know and that I love. Looking forward to the future where we get back to loving one another....this hate sh** has to stop. Hopefully it goes out of style soon....”
At the end of the message, he added, “This post is not meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences....It’s simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen...”
Hart has appeared on DeGeneres’s show many times — and she’s publicly had his back amid a high-profile scandal. When he stepped down as the Oscars host in 2018 amid resurfaced homophobic comments, DeGeneres publicly supported him and actively campaigned to help him win back the gig. DeGeneres said as a member of the LGBTQ community, she is sensitive to homophobic comments but accepted Hart’s apology (which he initially refused to give, but eventually did).
DeGeneres faced backlash from the LGBTQ community and its supporters over her stance.
While the investigation into DeGeneres’s show continues, the popular show is not expected to go off the air. There has been no shortage of negative press about DeGeneres — including some celebrities coming forward to say her bad behavior is “common knowledge” — she has received support too. Most notably, her wife, Portia de Rossi has publicly supported her. Katy Perry has also backed DeGeneres in a few posts earlier today.
90 Day Fiance’s Karine Gets Protective Order Against Husband Paul!
90 Day Fiance’s Karine gets a protective order against her husband Paul after he claimed she and their son were missing!
Karine and Paul have had more ups and downs than most of the 90 Day Cast. Paul has been skeptical of Karines faithfulness various times, requesting a STD test, and a DNA test for their son. On the opposite end Karine has threatened divorce to Paul more times than we can count. Now it has been taken to a whole new level with Karine getting a protective order from Paul.
Karine posted to her Instagram story updating her fans on her and son Pierre.
“All this past days I had a lot going on. I had issues where the police was called because I feared for my life and my son’s life which led to me to ask for help and ultimately be rescued from an environment that no longer was healthy for none of us involved in the situation. I’m getting the best help I could get and I’m really thankful for all the people involved in this. Relationships are hard and sometimes it just can’t be fixed anymore. I need this time to organize my thoughts, work on myself and care for my son after everything we’ve been through in the last year and a half.”
Karine added that her and Pierre are doing well now and she thanked all the fans for their continued support during this time.
Karine’s statement came after Paul posted to his Instagram stories on Saturday August 1st claiming that Karine left their home with their son and were now missing.
He said he was scared and really upset showing a restraining order Karine had filed against him saying he couldn’t be within 500 feet of both her and Pierre.
Then on Sunday August 2nd, Paul posted a video to his Instagram of a police officer visiting their home. In the video you can see an officer talking to a woman off camera while Paul is holding Pierre in the background. He states that he has video of her assaulting him.
The encounter was also captured on Paul’s Instagram Live on Thursday. In that video Paul claims that he discovered Karine was talking to a Brazilian lawyer about child support and divorce and confronted her about what was going on.
Paul denied accusations that he had physically harmed Karine. The stream reportedly ended before the two could come to a resolution.
Back in November Paul had announced that Karine had started divorce proceedings in Brazil.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Teams Up With Brooklyn’s Long Island University To Launch New School For College Students!
Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, is partnering with Brooklyn’s Long Island University to launch a new school.
In a statement released Tuesday, Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez referred to the partnership as “a true investment in our community and young people in Brooklyn, in New York City and beyond.”
“We’re excited that The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment will provide unique insight, knowledge, and experiences for students and introduce the world to the next generation of unmatched talent,” she added, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment, is set to open next fall in 2021 and will start accepting applications this fall.
RocNation Hope Scholarships will be rewarded to 25 percent of the incoming freshmen class, allowing them to graduate debt-free. Recipients will be selected from an academically competitive group of need-based freshmen in New York, the blog reported.
The new school will offer undergraduate students degrees in music, music technology, sports management, and entrepreneurship and production.
“Our proximity in and around New York City’s epicenter of music and sports clearly positions us to offer unparalleled experiential learning and access to professional opportunities that will launch students to success,” LIU President Dr. Kimberly Cline said in a statement following the announcement.
The president said the university looks forward to joining Roc Nation to provide an “unprecedented educational resource that opens up the entertainment and sports world to a new and eager generation.”
Besides attending daily classes, college students will have the opportunity to participate in discussions with special guest artists and speakers. The college will also offer hands-on experience through internships.
In addition to providing resources for undergraduate students, the Roc Nation School will also extend benefits to high school students and younger generations through summer programs, starting next spring.
Hundreds gather for secret rave under NYC’s Kosciuszko Bridge!
An illicit rave took place under the Kosciuszko Bridge in Brooklyn Saturday night, as bars and clubs remain on lockdown from the coronavirus.
Some revelers wore masks at the wild dance party that rocked into the early hours of Sunday, but showed a rampant disregard for social distancing guidelines, according to footage circulating on social media.
A crowd of hundreds could be seen at the unauthorized rave in Greenpoint, grooving to beats spun by DJ Mazurbate — who was behind a turntable setup wearing a surgical mask and bopping his head.
Apparently the event was meant to be a Black Lives Matter protest and it “spiraled out of hand,” according to the website Guest of a Guest.
One attendee could be seen holding a black T-shirt with the words “F–k 12” while others are holding signs in support of the Black Lives Matters movement.
DJ and producer Mike Simonetti tweeted that he declined an offer to perform at the party under the bridge because his father died alone of the coronavirus.
“I saw it as a disrespect to both my mother and everyone else who is going through what she went through,” Simonetti wrote.
“Imagine being married for 50 years and not being able to see your husband on his death bed.”
Last week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo blasted a weekend Hamptons concert headlined by The Chainsmokers where 3,000 attendees openly flouted coronavirus social distancing rules.
“We have no tolerance for the illegal & reckless endangerment of public health,” the governor said about the outdoor concert.
The DJ did not respond to a request for comment. The organizers could not immediately be reached.
Robin Givens Doesn’t Want To Be Involved In Upcoming Mike Tyson Film “Iron Mike;” Says She’s Disturbed By Tyson’s Book!
Actress Robin Givens says she does not want to be a part of Jamie Foxx’s upcoming Mike Tyson movie and says she was “disturbed” by the content in her ex-husband’s book.
Foxx is bulking up and preparing to star as one of the greatest boxers of our time, Mike Tyson, in a new upcoming biopic entitled “Iron Mike.” With most biographical pieces, the people involved in the subject’s life are often portrayed in the project. For Robin Givens, who divorced Tyson in 1989 after just eight months, it’s a concern. Givens and Tyson repeatedly had a tumultuous relationship filled with abuse from Tyson’s end and allegations that Givens only married Tyson for his wealth.
would abuse Givens in his book “Fire and Fear: The Inside Story of Mike Tyson.” The book was written by Tyson’s friend Jose Torres, and it was released the same year the two parted ways, The Sun reports. “It was when I fought Robin in Steve Lott’s apartment. She really offended me, and I went BAM. She flew backwards, hitting every wall in the apartment,” the book read. “That was the best punch I’ve ever thrown in my entire life,” Tyson said in the book. He also went on to call Givens and her mother “the slime of the slime” and called them “mean and vindictive.”
The film will be directed by #MartinScorese; he and Foxx both hope the film will provide some clarity to Tyson’s life and show that “everybody evolves.” However, Givens doesn’t want to be mentioned in the movie whatsoever. During an appearance at Sirius XM, the actress said, “That was not a fun ex for me.” She continued, “I had a good friend of mine [who] went and got the book that he wrote. I was reading it, and there were so many things that are so not true that it’s hard not to feel deeply disturbed by it,” Givens said. “So, in a way, I hope I’m stronger because of this, but it’s a little upsetting.” She added, “That’s going to be a tough one for me,” she said, adding, “To hear someone say, ‘The best punch I ever threw was against Robin, and she bounced from one wall to the next and was out.'” Lastly, she said, “I’m literally praying that we’re in a climate where that’s not acceptable.”
Scorsese is hoping that telling Tyson’s complicated life will help people understand his story, Foxx said. “Martin Scorsese, who hasn’t done a boxing film since “Raging Bull,” has agreed to take on the helm. We want to show everybody evolves. Everybody comes from a good or bad place,” said Foxx adding,” I think when we lay the layers on Mike Tyson in this story, I think everybody from young and old will be able to understand this man’s journey and the way we’ll place it.”
Colorado Police Apologize For Cuffing Black Children In Stolen Car Mixup!
Police in Aurora, Colorado, have apologized for putting a group of Black women and children in handcuffs while investigating a report of a stolen car.
A girls day at the nail salon turned tragic when police showed up on Sunday. Video shows a 17-year-old and a 12-year-old laying on their stomachs with their hands cuffed behind their backs after police approached them at gunpoint.
A 14-year-old girl was seen lying next to a 6-year-old on their stomachs as they cried out in the parking lot, while another woman was taken away in handcuffs.
Eventually, police realized the car they stopped wasn’t stolen and that the entire situation was a mix up that could’ve been avoided.
In a statement Monday, police said that the car had the same license plate number as a motorcycle that was stolen Sunday, but they realized it wasn’t the same car after the kids were cuffed on the ground. The statement said that officers are trained to do a “high-risk stop” when approaching a stolen car and must have their weapons drawn.
But police Chief Vanessa Wilson said officers should use discretion based on each scenario.
“I have called the family to apologize and to offer any help we can provide, especially for the children who may have been traumatized by yesterday’s events. I have reached out to our victim advocates so we can offer age-appropriate therapy that the city will cover,” she said.
Brittney Gilliam, who was the driver of the stopped car, was taking her nieces, sister, and daughter out to the nail salon. She said she and her family were victims of police brutality.
“There’s no excuse why you didn’t handle it a different type of way,” Gilliam said. “You could have even told them ‘step off to the side let me ask your mom or your auntie a few questions so we can get this cleared up.’ There was different ways to handle it.”
