#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Gives us a Glimpse of Her Natural Hair!
Cynthia Bailey always keeps us on our toes when it comes to her newest hairstyle. With The Real Housewives of Atlanta stunner we are always expecting the unexpected with regards to her locks. But in a recent Instagram post, Cynthia shared the style that she's been missing the most.
“Oh hello natural hair, I missed u!" she quipped on her glowing selfie on August 20. In the laid-back shot, Cynthia leans back in a casual pose wearing a low-key, black-and-white plaid button-down and a simple gold chain. Just when we had booked our appointment to copy Cynthia's platinum blonde braids, she switched things up to return to her natural style. The model has been getting "used to styling" her short, natural hair, and we are here for it.

Though, we're well-versed in the art of a Cynthia Bailey makeup-free selfie (she even makes traveling on a plane look runway-ready), it's always refreshing to see her luminous face on our feeds.

#MusicNews: IT’S OFFICIAL Brandy and Monica is coming to Verzuz!
Ever since the Verzuz DJ battle series — where artists like Snoop Dogg and DMX square off and showcase their hits in friendly competition while fans cheer on via social media — launched in March, Brandy vs. Monica has been the matchup that fans have clamored for. Not only did they team up on one of the biggest hits in history — “The Boy Is Mine,” which topped singles charts for more than three months in 1998 — their relationship ever since has been up and down, to put it mildly.

The two will bring that history to the Verzuz virtual stage on Saturday, Aug. 31, organizers announced today.

#HipHopNews: Foxy Brown Returns On Nas’ ‘Full Circle’!
It’s been nearly two decades since Foxy Brown released an album, but the Brooklyn rap icon makes her long-awaited return on Nas’ new album King’s Disease. On the Hit-Boy-produced “Full Circle,” Fox Boogie Brown reunites with fellow Firm members Nas, AZ, and Cormega.
Foxy comes through towards the end with a killer verse that pays homage to hip-hop’s golden era. “Ill Na Na top 5, ni**a, dead or alive / Ni**a or bitch, Firm mafiosa shit,” she raps in her husky tone. “Ayo Esco, name a bitch fu**in’ with me / Did a bullet, came home, Brooklyn gave me the key / No cap though, facts though, ni**a, that’s really rap, though / Like really though, my ni**a, she really back though.”

Dr. Dre, who signed The Firm to his Aftermath label in the ’90s, even makes a surprise cameo at the end. “Got me out here on my first-degree murder shit / Stretch marks from this art, gave birth to this,” raps the West Coast legend. “And I stand by every word of this / Malcom X with a check, closed curtains, bitch.”
Foxy has remained out of the spotlight since the release of her 2001 album Broken Silence. In 2008, she released her mixtape Brooklyn’s Don Diva. Ten years later, she collaborated with Nicki Minaj on “Coco Chanel” for the latter’s Queen album.

Formed in 1996, The Firm consisted of Nas, Foxy, AZ, and Cormega, who was ousted from the group and replaced by rapper Nature prior to the release of The Firm’s 1997 debut The Album, their one and only album.

Nas’ first album in two years, King’s Disease, dropped Friday featuring additional appearances from Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Anderson .Paak, and more

Candace Cameron Bure Reacts to Lori Loughlin's Prison Sentence!
Candace Cameron Bure is surely keeping Lori Loughlin in her thoughts as she faces her future behind bars.
After a federal judge sentenced the actress to two months in prison for her role in the infamous college admissions scheme on Friday, Aug. 21, Lori's Fuller House co-star took to social media with a subtle reaction to the news.

When an Instagram user commented on a post, "They should have 4 years each for the college kids that should have gotten in - ugh," Candace simply responded with a sad face emoji.
Lori's husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, is facing five months in prison. Additionally, he has been ordered to complete two years of supervised release, 250 hours of community service and pay a $250,000 fine. Lori will also serve two years of supervised release, but only has to complete 100 hours of community service and pay a $150,000 fine.

Since her arrest in March 2019, Lori's onscreen family has said they are actively supporting her behind the scenes.
"It's too personal to us," Candace shared during a 2019 appearance on Today with Jodie Sweetin. "We'd never want to talk about someone that is a dear and close friend. But I think I've already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we'll always be there for each other."
Then at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards that same year, Candace, Jodie and Andrea Barber accepted the award for Favorite Funny TV Show with a heartfelt nod to the publicly maligned star.

"Where there's a lot of heart, there's a lot of love and a loving family sticks together no matter what," Candace remarked at the time. "They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets."

During today's sentencing hearing, Lori addressed her involvement with a rare statement.
Referencing the lengths she and Mossimo went to fraudulently secure their daughters' admissions to the University of Southern California, the 56-year-old told the judge in part, "I thought I was acting out of love for my children but in reality it only underlined and diminished my daughters' abilities and accomplishments. More broadly and more importantly, I now understand that my decision helped exacerbate existing inequalities in society generally and the higher education system more specifically."

She then vowed to "use this experience as a catalyst to do good and give back for the rest of my life."
Both Lori and Mossimo must surrender to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons by Nov. 19.

2020 MTV VMA Performers May Be Pulled Due To Safety Concerns: Report!
On Friday (August 21), Hits Daily Double reported that the star-studded performance line-up might have been dismantled a bit due to health and safety concerns. "While MTV pivoted from hosting the event at Barclays Center to producing at various locations across New York and Los Angeles—a daunting task at any moment, let alone a pandemic—it’s rumored that multiple performers might be pulled from the event due to safety precautions," the industry outlet reported. "Some sources have reported issues with the COVID compliance team. A bubble has been created at an L.A. hotel for the artists and their teams, along with a bubble for production at the custom-built sound stage for the event."

MTV has previously announced a performance line-up, including Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, DaBaby, Black Eyed Peas, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Maluma, CNCO, BTS, Doja Cat and J Balvin. However, Ricch and Balvin are no longer listed on the VMA website as performers. Instead of being held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the VMAs decided on opting for audience-less outdoor performances in and around New York City. "The 2020 VMAs will be held on Sunday, August 30th and pay homage to the incredible resiliency of New York with several outdoor performances around the City with limited or no audience, adhering to all state and city guidelines," spokespersons for MTV and the Barclays Center said in a joint statement.

If you want to get in on the action for the upcoming ceremony, you can vote for all 15 gender-neutral categories. The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will air at 8 pm ET on August 30 across MTV's linear and digital platforms.

Megan Thee Stallion Announces First Show Since Being Shot!
Megan Thee Stallion will host her first live virtual performance next weekend, her first concert set since the rapper was shot by Tory Lanez in late July.
On Friday (August 21), the Houston-native announced the upcoming set, which will be held next Saturday (August 29) at 6:00 p.m. ET. The set comes just one day before the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, where she's nominated for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year ("Savage") and Best Hip-Hop ("Savage"). Fans can buy tickets for $15 apiece, which will give them a single-use code to access the Live Nation-produced show with creative direction from JaQuel Knight.

The virtual set will mark her first since her traumatic shooting, which prompted surgery to remove multiple bullets from her feet. Earlier this week, the rapper seemed frustrated with the gossip whispers surrounding the incident and came forward to name Lanez as the person who shot her. “Yes, this ni**a Tory shot me," she said on Instagram Live. "You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people to [talk to] these blogs, lying and sh*t. Stop lying!"

It's a big week for Hot Girl Meg as "WAP," her collaboration with Cardi B, took the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The rappers celebrated the dirty anthem's accolade by giving away $1 million via Twitter in what was dubbed the #WAPParty. This marks Meg's second No. 1 hit after her remix of "Savage" featuring BeyoncΓ©.

#RIP: 'Rupaul's Drag Race' Star Chi Chi Devayne Dies At 34!
Chi Chi DeVayne, known for her appearances in "RuPaul's Drag Race" and "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars," has died after a battle with pneumonia. She was 34.
RuPaul, the television personality for which "Drag Race" is named, said the star will be remembered for her loving personality.
"I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Chi Chi DeVayne," he said in a statement on Thursday. "I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind and beautiful soul. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. May her generous and loving spirit shine down on us all. On behalf of VH1, World of Wonder and the cast and crew of 'RuPaul's Drag Race,' I extend my deepest sympathy — from our family to hers."

DeVayne — the drag persona for Zavion Davenport — was hospitalized last week with pneumonia. She was also admitted in July for suspected kidney failure. DeVayne lived with scleroderma, a condition in which the body's immune system attacks organs, blood vessels and tissues.
On Aug. 15, DeVayne took to Instagram to tell fans that she was back in the hospital, asked everyone to pray for her and said, "I'll be back soon."

Friends and co-stars have been posting messages of condolence and support on social media. Drag queen Trixie Mattel posted a picture with DeVayne, adding three hearts and the caption, "an iconic queen literally everyone in our industry will always love."
DeVayne was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. She said it was clear that she was meant to be a star, even from a young age.
Lilly Singh gets primetime sketch comedy series at NBC
"I was always a little performer," she once said on "RuPaul's Drag Race." "My uncle used to stage talent shows with all us cousins, and my mom saw something in me. She had me in gymnastics, and I was in a dance company in my 20s."

During DeVayne's time competing on the eighth season of the show, she earned widespread support for her performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" and finished the competition in fourth place. Jennifer Holliday made her an official Dreamgirl on the final episode. The star's Season 8 entrance made a splash as well as her first dress was made from a trash bag.

She made an appearance this year on Apple TV Plus' "Little America," a series dedicated to telling the stories of American immigrants. Her feature on Randy Boo's song "GFY" also debuted this year and is available on Spotify.

Music Producer for Nelly Charged in Tim Norman Murder Case!
This week 'Welcome to Sweetie Pies' fans were shocked and appalled after Ms. Robbie Montgomery's son, Tim Norman, was indicted on murder charges in the death of Ms. Robbie's grandson Andre Montgomery
Now a popular St. Louis music producer, turned insurance agent, has been charged in connection with the case...

Yaghnam, 42, faces one charge of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, as federal prosecutors say he worked with Timothy Norman, Montgomery’s son, to fraudulently obtain a life insurance policy on his nephew, Andre Montgomery Jr. Yaghnam worked as Norman’s insurance agent, prosecutors say.
Prosecutors say Yaghnam and Norman made false statements on life insurance applications for Montgomery Jr., lying about the teen’s income, net worth, medical history, employment and family background

#RIP: 70s and 80s Soul Singer DJ Rogers Dies At 72!
*Sadly, we must report the passing of of a soul singer who never really achieved the success and acclaim commensurate with his talent.
We’re referring to DeWayne Julius Rogers better known as DJ Rogers. He was 72.
Here’s more on Rogers via Soul Tracks which was the first media outlet to report Rogers’ passing.

Rogers had a string of popular R&B albums in the 70s and several songs that are revered more than four decades after their release, including the beautiful ballad “Say You Love Me” (later recorded by Natalie Cole) and the dramatic midtempo top 20 hit, “Love Brought Me Back.” During that decade he recorded on the RCA, Total Experience and Columbia labels, each time delivering solid performances and memorable songs. He also worked with Deniece Williams, Maurice White and Patrice Rushen.
By the 90s and into the new millennium, Rogers was principally performing Gospel music. We last heard from him in 2012, when he contributed his recognizable vocals to the hit “Whoa to Wow” with Renee Spearman.
Rogers was part of a community of talented artists who brought both gospel and jazz sensibilities to 70s R&B, in many ways pre-dating the adult soul movement that would dominate much of mid-80s urban radio. His contribution was far more significant than his fame, and he is to be thanked for helping usher in a particularly rich era for soul music. He will be missed.

'The Batman' Teaser Trailer With Robert Pattinson Released!
Director Matt Reeves revealed the first trailer for The Batman at Saturday's DC Fandome event.
The video above reveals star Robert Pattison as the Caped Crusader and shows a dark, gritty, and violent new take on the iconic superhero. The footage plays against a haunting version of Nirvana's "Something in the Way."

"It’s about the early days of him being Batman and he’s very far from being perfect," Reeves told fans during the FanDome event. "One of the things that are interesting is learning how to be Batman. It's a criminological experiment. He's trying to figure out what he can do to change this place. He's seeing he's not having any of the effect he wants to have. That's when the murders start to happen ... and it opens up a whole new world of corruption. Without being an origin tale, it ends up touching on his origins. It's a detective story, a mystery, it's got, of course, action, and it's incredibly personal for him. He's kind of a growing legend and [criminals] are afraid of him. He's not a symbol of hope yet. One of the things he has to deal with is how he's perceived ... What was exciting for me was not doing the origin [story] but to meet him in the middle and to see him make mistakes and grow and fail and be heroic in a way that felt very human and very flawed."

WATCH
Reeves says 1970s classics like Taxi Driver and Chinatown were influences. He also notes he wanted Batman's suit to have a homemade look as Wayne has made it himself during his second year as a vigilante.
The Batman is the latest iteration of the Caped Crusader and stars Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin. Reeves says Dano's Riddler and Kravitz's Catwoman will be very different than any versions we've seen before.

"In a weird way, it is the origin of a lot of Rogue's Gallery," Reeves says. "Selina isn't Catwoman yet. Oswald isn't the Penguin yet — in fact, he doesn't like being called the Penguin."
Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) didn't have the full movie to draw footage from. The production started filming in London in January and then shut down in early March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Reeves says the trailer is only drawing from 25 percent of the planned footage. The Batman is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2021.

Several “All Rise” Writers Quit Over Showrunners Racist & Inappropriate Scripts!
Multiple writers from the CBS courtroom drama “All Rise” have walked off the show over mistreatment by the series showrunner, Greg Spottiswood.
According to a New York Times report that was published on Thursday, five of the seven original writers on the Warner Bros. Television produced series, including three of its highest-ranking writers of colors, quit. Spottiswood, who is white, reportedly ignored their attempts to have the show accurately reflect the experiences of people of color.
Even co-showrunner Sunil Nayar, an Indian American man, made his exit from the show following clashing with Spottiswood over the script, including one incident where Spottiswood attempted to remove a scene where the main character discussed racist policing with a Black bailiff after he had been wrongly stopped by police while jogging. The scene, which was written by Nayar, was ultimately kept in the show.

“We had to do so much behind the scenes to keep these scripts from being racist and offensive,” writer-producer Shernold Edwards, a Black woman, revealed to the Times. Edwards also said that there were multiple instances where the main character, Judge Lola Carmichael, who is portrayed by Simone Missock, storylines seemed to be stereotypical. When Edwards spoke out against the racially triggering dialogue, her colleagues would question why race mattered, which the writer points out, is the real issue.
“The fact that I’m still being asked that question tells me that there are people on the show who are incapable of writing for people of color and should not be writing for people of color,” Edwards wrote in an email to the show’s producers, according to the Times.

Warner Bros. issued a statement on the toxic work environment saying that they could not find enough evidence to get rid of Spottiswood just yet. However, they did assign a corporate coach to advise him following the investigation.
“As soon as we became aware of concerns in the All Rise writers’ room, we took steps to conduct a review of the work environment. The findings did not reveal conduct that would warrant removing [Spottiswood] from the Executive Producer role.”

Another scene that was scraped from the series was one that called for a nude man to join two women in an elevator, “and they continue their conversation as if nothing odd is going on,” Both Nayar and Edwards say that “the majority of the show’s writers” felt that the scene was inappropriate.

Spottiswood responded to the claims in a statement to EW.
“When it appeared, the writers’ room was struggling to function as effectively as it should, I recognized that I needed to change how I was working. I voluntarily sought management training and leadership coaching. I acknowledge that I can have a rhetorical, professorial tone in the room, and that can be perceived by some as condescending and that I can be defensive in creative conversations and debates. The showrunner went on to add, “I remain strongly committed to improving my communication style and skills; and to being a more inclusive leader — ensuring that writers and artists are not just heard, but feel listened to, respected, safe, and valued.”

John Legend And Chrissy Teigen List $24 Million Beverly Hills Mansion!
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are on the move. The superstar couple has listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $23.95 million. The 8,500 sq. ft. contemporary crib, which was once owned by Rihanna, has undergone a renovation since they bought it nearly five years ago for $14.1 million. The lavish custom amenities include bespoke patterned ceilings from Thailand, redone cerused oak floors, and clay and steel-rolled walls that “exude sensuality.”

In addition to the 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, the gated property boasts a designer chef’s kitchen, parlor with 33-foot ceilings and sculptural staircase, movie theater with soundproof walls, and a warehouse-sized master bedroom. Other features include a glam room, home gym, and his-and-hers closets worthy of a designer showroom.
There is also plenty of outdoor living including a heated saltwater pool and jacuzzi, wood-burning oven, and chef’s grill, with backyard views overlooking Coldwater Canyon.

This is the latest addition to the couple’s real estate portfolio. According to Dirt.com, they also own a duplex penthouse loft in New York City and recently purchased a $5.1 million live/work space in West Hollywood where Teigen plans to film her upcoming cooking show.

Earlier this month, the couple—parents to daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2—revealed that they are expecting a third child

Georgia Police Officer Fired After Viral Tik Tok Video Shows Him Being Aggressive and Tasing An Unarmed Black Woman!
Michael Oxford, a now-former Gwinnett County police officer, was fired Friday after being placed on desk duty due to his aggressive and unnecessary tasing of an unarmed black woman.
Oxford was responding to property damage and an alleged assault claim in Loganville, a Gwinnett County police statement reads. Aytra Thomas, a woman on the porch, apparently matched the description of the suspect.
The incident was captured on the homeowner’s surveillance system and after the police reviewed the video, they were able to recognize Aytra Thomas, who was on a porch across the street.
When Oxford approached the women on the porch, Thomas’ daughter Kyndesia Smith, can be heard shouting, “You’re on our property.” When he asked her to quiet down later threatening to throw her in jail, Smith is heard saying, “We did not call you, I’m not going anywhere.”

According to Atlanta Journal Constitution, Oxford said the shouting made it “difficult to speak with Aytra and further conduct my investigation” and told Smith she needed to pipe down or move away if she didn’t want to be thrown in jail on obstruction charges.
This led to Oxford’s aggressive behavior — grabbing her, tasing her, and pushing her to the ground.
Smith was charged with felony obstruction and simple battery against a police officer and was released Wednesday after posting a bond.
After an internal investigation made by the department, Oxford was fired.

“Officer Oxford violated our policy and did not meet our core values,” the department stated. “We strive to conduct ourselves in a manner that promotes mutual respect within our community and our peers.
