Solange Covers ‘Dazed’s New Spring/Summer Issue
Solange has been tapped to cover the new Spring/Summer 2018 issue of Dazed. The 31-year-old singer-songwriter was in turn recently captured by photographer Jackie Nickerson while in Jamaica.
Solange is currently recording her new album in the Caribbean island country, as she took some time to pay tribute to her spiritual home by writing a poetic love letter to Jamaica. You can look forward to the piece landing in Dazed‘s SS18 issue, which arrives Thursday, April 19.

#HipHopNews: Kendrick Lamar & Drake To Compete For Top Artist At 2018 Billboard Music Awards
Billboard has released the full list of nominations for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, which air on NBC on May 20. Kendrick Lamar leads the way for Hip Hop artists with 15 BBMA nominations, including Top Artist. K. Dot will vie for this honor against Drake and Bruno Mars, among others.
Cardi B is up for eight awards, including the Billboard Chart Achievement Award. She’ll also face off against 21 Savage and Kodak Black for Top New Artist.
Drizzy and Lamar are competing against Post Malone, Lil Uzi Vert and Migos for Top Rap Artist. Bhad Bhabie, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj will be pitted against each for Top Rap Female Artist.
Elsewhere in the nominations, French Montana and Swae Lee are up Top Rap Song for “Unforgettable,” XXXTENTACION is up for R&B Album Of The Year for 17, and TDE’s Black Panther: The Album is nominated for Best Soundtrack.
Terry Crews’ Doctor Refuses to Turn Over Documents in Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Last month, Terry Crews filed a sexual assault complaint against Adam Venit with the Los Angeles Police Department in December, and the case was referred to the district attorney’s office, which subsequently referred the case to the city attorney’s office for misdemeanor filing consideration.
The city attorney’s office then determined that the alleged incident at a party in February 2016 exceeded the one year statute of limitations and the matter was declined. Venit wants the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star’s doctor sanctioned by the court for refusing to turn over medical records as part of the ongoing lawsuit.
According to The Blast reports, Adam Venit — the WME agent Crews accused of groping him at a party in 2016 — subpoenaed documents related to “any medical exams or treatment Crews claimed he received as result of Venit’s alleged conduct.”
Venit argued that if Crews was claiming his mental and physical well-being was harmed, he should have to back it up.
Crews agreed and pointed Venit to Dr. Alex Katehakis of The Center for Healthy Sex, a sex addiction treatment facility in Los Angeles.
Venit claims he filed the subpoena on February 28, 2018 and asked Dr. Katehakis to comply by March 15. But Venit claims she never turned over the docs and never responded with any objections, either.
OH BABY! Claire Danes Is Pregnant With Baby No. 2
The 39-year-old Homeland actress revealed to Howard Sternon the X-rated Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM on Wednesday that she is expecting her second child with husband Hugh Dancy. Danes, who shares a 5-year-old son, Cyrus, with the actor, said she is currently in her second trimester.
"I'm pregnant," she said on the Howard Stern Show. "I'm seriously preggo. I'm deep into my second trimester."
"You look so thin," Stern said.
"I'm seated," Danes replied.
When asked about the sex of her second child, the actress said, "I'm going to keep that to myself."
Danes and Dancy have been married since 2009.
Wendy Williams who couldn’t stand Beyonce now says she’s The Greatest Entertainer of all Time?
Wendy Williams just gave Beyoncé a huge compliment, but she’s also dissed her in the past, fans wonder why the sudden change?
During one of her recent “Hot Topics” segments, the talk show host said Bey was the greatest performer to ever grace the stage, today or yesterday.
“Can I tell you something? This is my opinion. We can fight all day. I don’t care,” she said. “Beyonce is the greatest performer of all time, living or dead. When you think Michael Jackson, you think of Moonwalk. He’s not walking. Yes and he did put a jet pack and flew over the stadium. Beyonce is a human jet pack. Prince I get it, The Time with the mirrors and Prince and all them.”
After that proclamation was made, the opinions came swiftly and while some agreed with Wendy, others said she was way off.
“I guess Kanye was right,” someone wrote. “Beyoncé is the greatest performer of all time.”
“It’s really disrespectful to say she is the greatest entertainer when she took from so many others to create her brand,” another person stated. “Beyoncé has to push through Janet before she can get to M.J.”
“Now hold up,” a third person wrote. “Since when did Wendy become a Beyoncé fan?
There’s a good chance that a lot of folks would agree with that last question because again, Wendy has seemingly made Bey bashing a part-time job of her’s.
In fact, just one month ago, while commenting on Fergie’s much-criticized performance of the “Star Spangled Banner” at the 2018 NBA All-Star game, she said Beyoncé needs Autotune to even sing properly.
“There are only a few people who can sing raw dog and Fergie is not one. She needs Autotune,” said Wendy. “Jen Lopez needs Auto-Tune, Janet needs Auto-Tune, Beyoncé needs Auto-Tune. Adele, Aretha, Celine, Dionne Warwick and Mariah, they need nothing. They sing raw dog.”
The Beyhive and general Beyoncé fans swarmed on Wendy.
Perhaps another confusing thing about the talk show’s stance on Bey is that she’s claimed to be an actual fan. One of those times was in December of 2012, right before she criticized how the singer speaks.
“I am a Beyonce fan. I’m gonna watch her upcoming documentary because fortunately one of the TVs in our kitchen has closed captioning, so I’ll be able to understand what she says,” said the former radio personality. “You know Beyoncé can’t talk. She sounds like she has a fifth-grade education.”
Then after the studio audience booed, Wendy stuck to her opinion and took nothing back.
“Excuse me,” she responded. “I just said I was a fan. But we have to call a spade a spade.”
From here, there’s a good chance that Wendy’s opinion of Bey being a better performer than Prince and Michael will spark a long debate but either way, it still seems confusing on whether she’s a true fan or not.
En Vogue, Salt-N-Pepa, Spinderella & SWV To Star In Bet’s ‘Ladies Night’
BET is putting a major spotlight on a few of our favorite 90s R&B and hip hop girl groups in a new unscripted series titled Ladies Night. According to the THR, the show is part of the network’s new lineup of programming that was announced during its recent upfront presentation.
Ladies Night is a 10-episode docuseries that follows the personal and professional drama of iconic girl groups—En Vogue, Salt-n-Pepa, Spinderella and SWV—as they embark on a national tour. With a run of shows across the U.S., these artists must create, choreograph and execute a night featuring all of their famous hits. With major money on the line, the OGs will need to put their pride to the side in order to launch something truly memorable.
In addition to Ladies Night, BET has also ordered a scripted series based on the 90s hit film Boomerang as well as a series from Will Packer titled Peachtree Place and a drama inspired by Soul Train creator and Black entertainment pioneer Don Cornelius. It has also ordered a new reality series from T.I. titled The Grand Hustle and a true crime docuseries hosted by the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson titled True Justice.
Bhad Bhabie Backs Cardi B and Shades Nicki Minaj for Billboard Awards

When asked how she felt about being nominated for the Billboard award, the teen stated that she was just pleased to have her name mentioned. “By being nominated I already won,” she confessed. She admitted that she probably wouldn’t win, but that it would go to another deserving artist, Cardi B. “Obviously Cardi is gonna win, but she deserves it I’m just getting started,” she continued.
She later shaded Nicki, saying that she wasn’t as good of a rapper as the Bronx artist. “Cardi is way better than Nicki, I don’t care what no one says,” Bhad Bhabie added, suggesting that she was siding with the “I Like It” artist in her reported feud with Minaj. “Cardi actually says stuff. Nicki just has attitude. So what, big deal.”

Kodak Black Sentenced to One Year in Jail for Gun and Weed Case
Kodak Black just got a big break in his legal struggle and struck a deal with prosecutors in his Florida gun and marijuana case and will only receive one year in county jail after facing a much higher maximum of 12 years for violation of probation.
According to court records, Kodak pleaded guilty to two probation violations, including driving on a suspended license and “associating with people committing crimes.”
As we previously reported, police witnessed the rapper in the presence of cannabis and ammunition during an Instagram Live stream. His attorney argued that there was no way to prove that the weed and ammo from the video could be determined to be authentic, and the charges should be dropped.
Kodak’s attorney claims that the rapper and his crew “often produce music videos and other promotional videos, as is customary in the industry, using fake firearms and narcotics.”
In return, all other violation charges were dropped. Other charges, including child neglect, that were connected to a police raid on his home, were also dropped.
He was sentenced to 364 days in county jail, but with 90 days time served. We are told that with good behavior, he could be out by October.
Once he is released, he will have a relatively clean slate and won’t have to serve any further probation.

Stormy Daniels Plans To Donate NDA Money To Planned Parenthood
Stormy Daniels will reportedly donate $130,000 ― the sum of money she received from the nondisclosure agreement she signed to keep quiet about her alleged 2006 affair with President Donald Trump ― to Planned Parenthood if she wins her current defamation case against Trump attorney Michael Cohen.
The adult film star, whose given name is Stephanie Clifford, told Penthouse Magazine that she will donate in Trump and Cohen’s names, according to The Daily Beast. Penthouse will feature Daniels in an in-depth interview titled “Getting Intimate With The Most Wanted Woman In America,” which hits newsstands on May 8, the Daily Beast reported.
The interview will reportedly contain some “NSFW” details that were excluded from Daniels’ recent “60 Minutes” interview.
“He knows I’m telling the truth,” Daniels told “60 Minutes” about Trump, who has denied the affair ever happened.
Daniels says she had an affair with Trump starting in 2006, a few months after Melania Trump gave birth to Trump’s youngest son, Barron. Her story received renewed attention in January when it was revealed that Trump attorney Cohen arranged a $130,000 payment to Daniels before the 2016 election ― an exchange that may be illegal.
Daniels is currently fighting a legal battle to share her full story publicly.
