Black Panther star Michael B Jordan on the #MeToo campaign
Michael B Jordan is talking to GQ UK about his movie 'Black Panther' amongst other things! Here's a few excerpts!
Michael B Jordan on how important Black Panther is
Michael B Jordan on how important Black Panther is
"I think it’s extremely important. I feel like I never had that many actors to look at and inspire me growing up. Black actors that I could identify with, that look like me on screen… And I’m just thinking about what this movie is going to do to the kids growing up… Black kids, white kids, all kids because they can imagine just as much as we can, but specifically black kids who don’t have that many positive examples to look at on TV and film. We’re giving black people power, royalty – we don’t gotta be crackheads or gangbangers, selling drugs or robbing people. We don’t have to be comic relief. We can be superheroes. Imagine what that’s going to do to the imagination and ambition of kids watching these movies. That’s the real impact of this film."
“I think it’s just a cleansing. I think it’s a power thing and that’s in all industries. I feel like whenever there’s power and men in power, there’s going to be an abuse of power, that’s just human nature… People that were scared to say or speak their truth now are feeling comfortable. People are going to be more responsible with the positions that they are in right now and that’s taught down. The assistants that are coming up, the producers, the actors coming up – everybody’s learning. You have to weed the motherf**kers out so the next crop that come up can learn the right way.”

#NEWMUSIC from Kendrick Lamar & SZA – All The Stars
R&B songstress SZA and labelmate, rapper Kendrick Lamar, unveil a music video for their collaborative single, “All the Stars,” a song from ‘Black Panther: The Album,’ the motion-picture soundtrack for the upcoming Marvel-inspired film.
Inspired by the film as well as the African heritage and culture, the Dave Meyers and The Little Homies-directed visual creates more hype for the movie as it captures eclectic vibes of the people and tribes.
As far as the song, Lamar spits painstaking and thought-provoking bars about how he sees the world and entitled people, while SZA supports with soulful and inspirational vocals.
“This may be the night that my dreams might let me know / All the stars are closer, all the stars are closer, all the stars are closer,” SZA sings before Lamar unleashes his force.

Curated and produced by Kendrick, Top Dawg Entertainment, and the label’s CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, Black Panther: The Album is due Feb. 9, while the film hits theaters Feb. 16.

Sign of the Times: Best Buy & Possibly Target To Stop Selling CDs
Best Buy has informed their suppliers they will be removing all music CDs from their shelves. Target may not be too far behind in following them.
This news shouldn’t really surprise anyone at all, honestly. With streaming and digital downloads taking over Best Buy has decided they will no longer sell physical CDs in their stores.
What took them so long? Billboard reports as of July 1st, Best Buy has informed their suppliers they will be removing all music CDs from their shelves. Don’t worry vinyl collectors this won’t affect you for the next 2 years. Best Buy reports they only make $40 million a year from CDs which isn’t nothing to rave about by a retailer of their size.
Target isn’t too far behind in following Best Buy, they want to stop paying for all CDs and DVDs it receives and wants to ship back to suppliers whatever they don’t sell. Target wants to only pay for the CDs and DVDs they sell and have given suppliers until April 1st or May 1st to make the switch. As expected the three major music labels are not immediately on board with this at least one of them leaning towards telling the retail giant no according to Billboard. The other two right now are in limbo on the matter and have yet to respond.
Here is what Target said on the matter in an email statement to The Verge:
“Entertainment has been and continues to be an important part of Target’s brand. We are committed to working closely with our partners to bring the latest movies and music titles, along with exclusive content, to our guests. The changes we’re evaluating to our operating model, which shows a continued investment in our Entertainment business, reflect a broader shift in the industry and consumer behavior. We have nothing more to share at this time.”
Streaming services now account for 62% of percent of the revenue in the US music market. Warner Music Group read the tea leaves and already offered buyouts to its 130 staff who work with the physical product according to Billboard.
Now this news doesn’t mean the CD is dead altogether. Vinyl and the cassette tape oddly has seen a resurgence with artist finding ways to distribute their music on physical platforms still. So maybe the CD will see the effect but again this is just definitely a sign of the times.

This Is Us scores TV's biggest post-Super Bowl rating in 6 years
NBC’s special episode of This Is Us definitely scored in the Nielsens.
Early numbers mark the weepy NBC drama as the most-watched post-Super Bowl entertainment telecast in six years — and that’s despite the big game delivering its lowest rating in eight years.
The overnights (a 16.2 rating in the metered-market households) were up 59 percent from last year’s disappointing premiere of Fox’s 24: Legacy.
And naturally, this marks an all-time high for This Is Us as well. The full audience number is still to come later today.
#WOW: SWV Singer Coko Clemons & Mike Clemons Divorcing After 15 Years Of Marriage: ‘We Always Thought We’d Be Forever’
SWV Singer Coko Clemons & Mike Clemons Divorcing After 15 Years Of Marriage
I’m very sad to report SWV singer Coko Clemons and her husband, Mike Clemons, are divorcing after 15 years of marriage.
Coko announced the news via her website just three months after the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.
We always thought we’d be together forever! Through the good, the bad, the ugly, the ups and the downs…we’d still be married. But, things don’t always work out the way we plan or hope.
After 15 years of marriage, my husband and I have decided to call it quits. Our fairytale has come to an end. I’ll definitely miss him! But life goes on and I have to make the best of it.
I wish him all the best in his future. I pray that he will lack nothing! For the sake of our son we will do our best to co-parent. We’re not enemies, we’re just two people that fell out of love.
Life after divorce kind of scares me, but I have to be strong for myself and my son. God got me and I’m surrounded by a great group of family and friends that hold me down. My Village!! I am blessed and highly favored!!❤️
READY FOR MY NEXT!!!ππ
I’m very sorry to hear this, but I wish them the best.
