Fifth Harmony has made the cover of Seventeen's September 2017 Issue
Fifth Harmony are talking all about body confidence in the newest issue of Seventeen mag.
The ladies — Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei — opened up in the September/October 2017 issue of the glossy, revealing the new dynamics in the band, how they’ve evolved and how they’ve come to feel confident in their own skin.
“I’ve struggled with self-confidence in a different way than the other girls, in the sense that I’m the only black girl in the group,” Normani reveals. “It’s a problem that so many little girls – whether they’re African-American, Latin, whatever – can’t identify with what they see.”
She adds, “Hopefully I can be a source of light. I feel like I have the power to influence a whole generation, which is overwhelming at times but also such a beautiful thing.”
Lauren also says that her bisexuality isn’t something she’s ashamed of at all.
“You can’t use the fact that I’m bisexual against me if that’s something I’m proud of,” she shared.
Lauren adds, “I feel motivated more than scared to share who I am because it makes me feel awesome when someone comes up to me and says that because of me she was able to find the strength to accept herself.”
The new issue of Seventeen will be out on newsstands on August 15th.
#RHoA: 'Real Housewives' Star Phaedra Parks Selling $1.5M Atlanta Home
Controversial FORMER OR NOT "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member Phaedra Parks is selling her home in Atlanta’s Chastain neighborhood for $1.5 million.
The home—one of three that Parks owns—is approximately 4,500 square feet. It includes four bedrooms, four baths, and two half-baths. Each of the three bedrooms on the second floor has its own attached bathroom, as does the main-floor master suite.
The home also features a library with fireplace, a two-story foyer, and enough plush trimmings to serve as an appropriately cinematic backdrop for any teary confessions or dramatic confrontations.
The grand dining room with chandelier is perfect for hosting shade-throwing soirees. It leads into a high-ceilinged great room with an open and columned second-floor landing. French doors in the great room open to a pool, as does a private door from the master suite. In addition to the pool, the backyard amenities include a recently built outdoor kitchen and two covered seating areas.
Parks, who describes herself in her Instagram bio as a “Southern belle, mommy, mortician, mediator, attorney, housewife & Secrets of the Southern Belle author,” joined the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast in its third season. However, she might not return to the show for its 10th season after a dramatic four-part reunion special at the end of Season 9. During the reunion, she admitted to spreading what People called “inflammatory accusations” about other cast members.
Parks was also the subject of attention for another piece of real estate. She reportedly put a $1.9 million mansion in Buckhead up for lease last month, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. However, once the the listing was publicized, Parks claimed on Twitter that the listing was fake and it was taken down.
#LEEDANIELS_STAR: ‘Star’ Casts Evan Ross & Mike Epps In Season 2 Of Fox Music Drama
Fox is rounding out casting for Season 2 of its hit music drama Star, with Evan Ross joining in a key recurring role.
Co-created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy, Star follows three talented singers – running from their pasts, desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom – as they navigate the cutthroat music business. Miss Lawrence joins series stars Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady, Ryan Destiny, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown.
Ross will play Angel, nephew to Jahil Rivera (Benjamin Bratt) and a DJ with a bad-boy streak who is heavy in the Latin music scene. Mike Epps will appear in the Star/Empire crossover episode as Jay Holland, the girls’ record label president who is willing to cross the line with one of them. Luke James, who was mentioned during TCA as a cast addition for the new season, will play Noah Brooks, a top-selling R&B artist at the label. He is charming and a sweet talker with ambitious streak.
Ross most recently wrapped production on the indie Headshop. He’s repped by CAA, LINK Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.
Epps just finished shooting Acts of Violence with Bruce Willis and The Trap, which he co-produced. He’s repped by CAA, Primary Wave Entertainment and attorney Todd Rubenstein.
James most recently played Johnny Gill in The New Edition Story and guest-starred on Insecure.
#NEWMUSIC: Boney James feat. Avery*Sunshine – Honestly
Smooth it out with Grammy-nominated musician Boney James and soulful songstress Avery*Sunshine. Add this one to your grown-and-sexy date night playlists before you even hit play, its the perfectly accompaniment to a romantic night in with bae or your significant other.
Acclaimed saxophonist and composer, Boney James is gearing up to release his 16th studio album, Honestly, due September 1, and he has released the title track featuring R&B signer Avery*Sunshine.
“I’m fighting the good fight to be my own artist and not be pigeonholed,” says the genre-blurring James. “With a record’s title I always try to find something that will communicate the feeling I get when I listen to it. The feeling I get with this music is a sense of sincerity and intimacy. The word ‘honestly’ really reflects how I aspire to live my life and create my music.” He continues, “These are interesting times we are living in and the one thing I can do with the skills that I have is make music that evokes a feeling and takes people somewhere…to do what I can to try and make the world a more pleasant place.”
Regarding Avery, James says, “I heard her at a festival we were both playing and then I heard her #1 single ‘Call My Name’ on the radio. I was instantly a fan and just waiting for the right song for us to collaborate.” (h/t thisisrnb)

UH OH? Ex-Choreographer Shades Mariah Carey For “No F*cks Given” Performances
Mariah Carey’s former choreographer Anthony Burrell is far from pleased with the diva’s latest performance. In fact, he’s calling her out for her lax on stage moves.
During an interview with Complex, Burrell opened up about working with the singer, specifically, how he feels about her latest string of unpleasant and less than stellar performances.
“It’s just typical Mariah,” he told the publication. “Mariah is clear: when she doesn’t wanna do something, she doesn’t do it. She’s performing with lackluster and no fucks given, and it’s taking away her star.”
He continued, “Working with an artist like Mariah, who’s not a mover first, it’s always a challenge to get them to think physically and not just vocally. You always have to keep in mind that they’re a singer first.”
Anthony, who was Carey’s creative director during the filming of her docuseries, Mariah’s World, added, “The priority is not teaching them 100 counts of 8, or endless routines. I wanted to give Mariah a modern push to revamp her, give her a fresher, more modern feel, make her more aware of her body and her lines, and not look like her feet hurt when she’s walking.”
Don’t get it twisted — Anthony, who was fired before the E! series came to an end, hasn’t always has negative things to say about the pop star. Back in January, he wrote on Instagram: Tune into the last episode of #mariahsworld. It’s been a great run! This woman is one of the kindest, most generous women I know. She deserves respect and love. And for her, I will always have just that. #QueenMariah #grateful #ontothenext .”
#hunty Series About RuPaul's Life & Rise in the Works at Hulu Titled ‘QUEEN’
RuPaul on Why Identity Shouldn’t Be Taken Seriously, But Loving Yourself Should
For all of his accomplishments, TIME 100 honoree RuPaul's approach to life is refreshingly light-hearted: don't take yourself too seriously
This story originally appeared on EW.com. Hulu could soon be sashaying away with RuPaul’s life story.
Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the streaming service is developing an original series based on the iconic drag queen’s formative years as he rose to prominence on the 1980s New York City club circuit and, eventually, became a global voice for the LGBT community in pop culture throughout the ’90s.
J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company is also working on the project, tentatively titled Queen, though the filmmaker’s direct involvement is not yet clear.
RuPaul — full name RuPaul Andre Charles — and writer Gary Lennon will reportedly executive-produce the series for Hulu, which has found success with its broadening slate of programming that now includes The Mindy Project, Difficult People, The Path, Casual and The Handmaid’s Tale, the latter of which received 13 Emmy nominations last month.
RuPaul won an Emmy for fronting the popular reality competition program RuPaul’s Drag Race, which he created and has hosted since 2009, last year, while the show itself became the first LGBT-oriented program to be recognized in the outstanding reality program category when the Television Academy’s annual list of nods was announced in July.
Judge Throws Out Fired DJ’s Suit Against Taylor Swift
A Denver judge has thrown out David Mueller’s lawsuit against Taylor Swift.
U.S. District Judge William J. Martinez said the former KYGO radio DJ can’t prove the pop star got him fired.
Mueller, 55, sued Swift in 2015 for damages, saying that the singer had falsely accused him of groping her, according to Reuters.
Mueller said that Swift and her team “pressured station management to oust him from his $150,000-per-year job.”
The judge said that “Taylor Swift did not act improperly.” Martinez did say there’s evidence to support a damages claim over the KYGO contract but not for future earnings. The verdict means Mueller could sue only for up to $300,000, the amount remaining on his contract.
Swift’s attorney Douglas Baldridge argued in court Friday that Mueller’s grievance “is with KYGO, not with my client.”
The judge will allow Mueller’s claim to continue against Swift’s mother, Andrea, and her radio liaison, Frank Bell, both of whom reported Swift’s groping accusation to station management, BuzzFeed reported.
Martinez’s decision Friday does not affect Swift’s assault case against Mueller. She is suing for $1 and wants her case to serve “as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”
Mueller’s legal team rested its case Friday after hearing testimony from Swift’s former bodyguard Greg Dent, according to NBC News.
Dent testified that he saw Mueller reach under Swift’s skirt just before a photographer snapped their picture during the now-infamous meet-and-greet.
Taylor Swift’s lead attorney, Douglas Baldridge, speaks to media Friday outside the Denver courthouse.
Dent said he did not intervene because he did not get any cues from Swift.
Shannon Melcher, Mueller’s former girlfriend, who was also in the photo with Swift, testified that Swift moved into her just before the photo was snapped, according to The Denver Post. “I wasn’t paying attention directly to what he was doing to get into the photo. It happened very quickly, to be honest. I was aware that he was trying to get into the frame.” She added that she didn’t see any groping because “I was facing forward. I don’t have eyes at the back of my head.”
On Monday, both parties will have 60 minutes for closing statements as well as an opening statement and rebuttal. After that, the jury will deliberate the claims against Andrea Swift and Frank Bell.
