Meet the new Jennifer Williams.
The former star of the once explosive “Basketball Wives” franchise is experiencing a renaissance. She just wrapped a season starring in TV One’s “The Next 15” alongside reality TV alums Claudia Jordan, Laura Govan, Benzino, Tiffany “New York” Pollard and Karamo Brown. And, her entrepreneurial empire just keeps growing.
The new reality TV franchise was touted as revolutionizing reality TV. It did two things, gave the answer to the question about how real reality TV is. We learned the shows are produced — situations are influenced and instigated — and not necessarily scripted. Second, it was a last-ditch effort to help cast members showcase their pop culture relevance sans their former reality TV personas.
On “The Next 15,” we met the Jennifer Williams who pressed reset and subsequently introduced her alter ego when the New Jersey native collaborated with Benzino on a single titled, “No Bricks.” It’s a modern-day TLC’s “No Scrubs,” and chimes in on getting rid of dead relationship weight. It was a project she worked on during what she described as her life’s worst week ever. It happened when she learned of her mother’s terminal illness.
She sat down with our friends at Rolling Out Mag to discuss how she dealt with pain and triumph while under the scrutiny of millions of viewers on television and online.
Who is Jennifer Williams? Are you the same diva we met on “Basketball Wives”?
My life is completely different. I am a different person. I was a basketball wife then. My life is different. I am single and now living in Los Angeles. People feel like they know me, but I have evolved.
What’s the emotional impact of having your life play out on a large platform like television?
It was difficult at first. There were times when I said, “Get this effing camera out of my face,” but, it’s what I signed up for. I had to be real. I went through a difficult situation with [a man] who is now my ex-husband. It played out in front of everyone and everyone had an opinion. I lived and filmed it. Then a couple months later when it aired, I had to relive it. People asked me why didn’t I leave sooner. You can’t say what you’d do unless you’re in the situation. I developed tough skin. I am sitting here now. I am happy and it took awhile to get here. When you go through a divorce and it is public, you have to take time to heal. I took care of Jennifer.
What was your first reaction to your ex, Eric Williams, throwing a drink in your face on national television?
My first thought was, “Did this really happen to me?” I then thought, people are going to think I get my a– beat. It was totally out of character for him. His ego was bruised, not saying it was right. It came out of left field. Nothing like that had ever happened like that in our relationship. At that moment, I knew any chance of us getting back together was over. It was the nail in the coffin.
He felt bad about it. He got a lot of backlash from it. He apologized to me. Then he’d go on interviews saying I needed to be baptized with holy water. I am glad I am past it. It made me a stronger person.
Please give us an update on your entrepreneurial ventures.
Lucid Cosmetics is doing well. There will be expansion and rebranding. I’m opening, Classy Girl Wardrobe; it’s an online boutique. I love fashion. Being here in L.A., we have the fashion district and wholesale opportunities. I enjoy fashion buying. [Jennifer is also the proprietor of Flirty Girl Fitness boutique with two locations, Chicago and Toronto.]
#RHOA: Sheree Whitfield Lands Big Book Deal
RHOA star Sheree Whitfield was in New York City last week for a secret meeting and has landed a big book deal, a new report reveals.
“Sheree’s proposal for her forthcoming novel was seen by multiple publishers and it was so great it incited a bidding war,” a source shared. “Sheree stars on the highest rated Housewives show and that will certainly ensure huge sales.”
“She was seen having a business dinner at the exclusive Polo Restaurant,” a source told In Touch. “The table was filled with business people and it looked like there were serious negotiations going on.”
While the insider said Whitfield landed close to a million dollar advance, they remained tight-lipped on the details of the book.
“Sheree is very happy, however I can’t comment on anything further at this time,” her rep said. “Sheree chose to return to the The Real Housewives of Atlanta mostly because she emerged as the fan favorite and is loving it.”
A friend of the reality star said, “She is the voice of reason on the show. I am so happy she’s made the decision to go back.”

#HIPHOPNEWS: Notorious B.I.G. Hologram to Debut in Faith Evans Video
A Biggie hologram is officially on the way. The Notorious B.I.G.’s estate has confirmed that ARHT Media has obtained the digital rights to Christopher Wallace’s hologram, which is set to be unveiled onstage and in music videos.
“This project has been a long-time coming, and it is very special to me,” Biggie’s mom, Voletta Wallace, told Billboard. “Words can’t even capture how elated I am for the world to finally see my son again on stage and beyond. Christopher’s impact and legacy will not only live through his past work, but also the new experiences which have been made possible through ARHT Media.”
Biggie’s “Humagram” will first be seen in a Faith Evans music video for the lead single off her upcoming Biggie duets album The King & I, according to the report. Just last month, Biggie’s former wife revealed that a hologram was in development.
“What we’re gonna start with is a video with the first single from The King & I [and] then I think Faith wants to do a little tour,” ARHT’s founder Rene Bharti told Billboard. It’s possible that could involve Puff Daddy & The Family’s two-night reunion concert set to take place in May, though that remains unclear.
“After seeing all the technologies out there, I realized right away that ARHT Media would be the best partner to bring back Notorious B.I.G.,” Evans told Billboard. “I look forward to continue working with them and presenting the world with his Humagram in both video and stage format, through the release of my album The King & I.”
ARHT has worked with the likes of motivational speaker Tony Robbins in the past. The company beamed him into four-day speaking engagements across the world using their technology.
While this is ARHT’s first foray into the rapper hologram world, other MCs have been part of the technological craze. That list includes Tupac Shakur, Eazy-E, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and Chief Keef.
“Barbershop” Movie Series is Being Sued for 20 MILLION!
There’s a slight chance that “Barbershop: The Next Cut” won’t be hitting theaters this weekend. A playwright, JD Lawrence, is claiming that the franchise stole his idea from one of his plays called “Scissors”. The play is about a barbershop in a black neighborhood and it explores the idea of community togetherness and had some of the same events happen,just like the movies. He also says it features a character that resembles “Eddie” played by Cedric the Entertainer. “Scissors” toured from 1998 to 2001. So if his case actually holds water, the dates could prove he had the idea first.
He’s suing for at least $20 million and wants to stop the April 15th release! That’s this weekend!
My question is, where has he been for the past two movies? His claim could be valid but the timing of it all is way too convenient. I guess we’ll see if the courts believe him this weekend if the movie comes out.

A recent Page Six exposé about the manipulative world of celebrity gift-giving revealed this juicy bombshell about the supermodel.
Allegedly, Naomi sends expensive Hermès Birkin bags to the girlfriends and mothers of the men she would like to lure into bed. Her former assistant Rebecca White is spilling the tea about Campbell’s sex game, saying:
“Naomi was a big fan of sending Birkin bags out of the blue,” says White, who was employed by Campbell from 2000 to 2005. “If it was someone she wanted to sleep with, she would send one to [the guy’s] mother. I remember sending another model one because Naomi had slept with her boyfriend… [Naomi] said, ‘Send something to make sure she thinks I’m her friend.’ ”
In case you don’t know, Birkin bags start at about $10,000.
Most recently, Campbell was credited for the breakup of Idris Elba and his baby momma Naiyana Garth after Naomi was spotted getting cozy with the actor at a nightclub.

Brandy & David Tutera Announce Daytime Talk Show, ‘Brandy & David’
Singer/actress Brandy Norwood and reality TV star David Tutera (of We TV’s David Tutera’s CELEBrations) are the latest to try their hand in the talk show game. The two have announced that they’re shooting a pilot for a daytime talk show. David shared the news on Instagram, writing
