YESSSSSS! Curvy Girls Unapologetically Flaunt Their Beauty On The Cover Of Ebony
Ebony's recent covers have taken bold stances on cultural appropriation, the rape allegations against Bill Cosby, and celebrities taking a stand against racial injustice. The publication is continuing its coverage with March's Women Up! issue, which features four plus-size Black women dressed in military shirts layered over a black leotards.
Style blogger Gabi Gregg (also known as GabiFresh), singers Jazmine Sullivan and Chrisette Michele, and Orange is the New Black actress Danielle Brooks slay on the cover. They're not dressed modestly or covering up their imperfections. Instead, each woman looks like a seductress, exposing a side that plus-size women don't often get to show.
It's reminiscent of model Ashley Graham's historic Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover. Graham, like these four ladies, got to flaunt her voluptuous body.
The cover also offers an array of different unaltered skin complexions, something mainstream magazines have faced backlash for getting wrong. This past March, InStyle was accused of lightening actress Kerry Washington's complexion. The magazine released a statement that blamed the snafu on "cover lighting." Vanity Fair faced similar criticism for Lupita Nyong'o's February 2014 cover. When Vanity Fair tweeted the cover, one commenter asked, "Did you lighten her skin?" The magazine didn't respond to the backlash. Ebony's Black cover stars retained their beautiful complexions.
It looks like all of these plus-size ladies are unapologetically "getting in formation." LOVES IT!

#RHOA & RHONJ: Is Joe Giudice Looking Forward To Serving His Prison Sentence With Fellow Bravolebrity Apollo Nida?
It’s no secret that Joe Giudice and Apollo Nida will be serving their prison sentences together at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, but the question remains if they will be buddies behind bars or not? Bravo fans everywhere just assumed the househusbands had met, and were looking forward to a familiar face behind bars; however The Daily Dish reports that this is not the case.
“I don’t even know who he is to be honest with you,” Joe said. Teresa added, “Yeah, they never spoke. They never met. When I go to Bravo events… I met Phaedra at a commercial shoot once, but Joe never comes to those.”
Back in December RHOA’s Phaedra Parks, who is Apollo’s estranged wife, confirmed that Apollo was transferred to prison in New Jersey and that he would probably meet Joe in there. “He’s there. No, he hasn’t [previously met Giudice]. I’m sure they haven’t crossed paths, but I guess they will now.”
Say what you want about Joe Giudice, this situation is unfortunate. Hopefully Joe and Apollo find friendship, I’m sure they’ve got a lot of stories to share; one thing is certain, their book would be way better than the Jim Marchese/Brooks Ayers collaboration!
Are you surprised Joe and Apollo don’t know each other?

Nancy Reagan Dead At 94!
Former first lady Nancy Reagan died Sunday at the age of 94.
The news was first reported by TMZ, citing a "close family member," and confirmed by a spokeswoman. The Reagan Library said in a statement that the cause of death was "congestive heart failure."
The widow of former President Ronald Reagan had been hospitalized in October 2014 with a fractured pelvis.
She served as first lady from 1981 to 1989 and was known for her work in combating youth drug abuse through the "Just Say No" campaign.
She was born Anne Frances Robbins on July 6, 1921, in New York City. When her stepfather adopted her in 1935, she took his last name of Davis. She majored in theater at Smith College in Massachusetts.
In 1951, she met her future husband when he was president of the Screen Actors Guild and she was a Hollywood actress billed as Nancy Davis. They married in Los Angeles in 1952 and had a daughter, Patti Davis, and a son, Ron Reagan.
"My life really began when I married my husband," Nancy Reagan often said. She even referenced the quote in her 1989 book My Turn.
After the wedding, Nancy Reagan appeared in only a few more films, including "Hellcats of the Navy" (1957), which also featured her husband.
"Ronnie," as she affectionately called him, served as governor of California from 1967 to 1975. During that time, Nancy Reagan supported veterans groups and advocated for the Foster Grandparent Program, which brings together older Americans with children who have physical and emotional handicaps. She drew national attention to the program once her husband was elected to the White House.
As first lady of the United States, Reagan also launched a campaign to fight drug and alcohol abuse among youth. The refrain "Just Say No" became synonymous with those efforts and a pop culture watchword. The first lady appeared repeatedly on TV and enlisted more established groups to advance the anti-drug message. "Just Say No" clubs were started nationwide in schools and elsewhere. Critics, however, argued that the "Just Say No" approach to the drug war was too simplistic.
Reagan was also mockingly dubbed "Queen Nancy" for what many viewed as excessive spending during the 1981-82 recession, according to the National First Ladies' Library. She directed major repairs and redecoration in the White House, which hadn't been done since renovations in the 1960s, and purchased new china. Though Reagan paid for the upgrades with private donations, many Americans criticized her. Her elegantly expensive wardrobe, often donated by the designers, sparked criticism as well.
She caught flak for being overly involved in her husband's administration, particularly in the hiring and firing of top advisers. A number of memoirs from those who worked for the Reagans said that Nancy Reagan pushed out those she perceived as detrimental to her husband.
One White House chief of staff, Donald Regan, said in his 1988 book that he was fired after disagreeing with her over what the president should do during the Iran-Contra scandal. "She becomes very vindictive if she thinks somebody is going to harm the reputation of her husband or herself, or won't give in to her," he said at the time, according to People magazine.
Regan's book also revealed that Nancy Reagan had begun consulting an astrologer to deal with her own fears over her husband's safety after the March 1981 assassination attempt. Shot in the chest, the president underwent emergency surgery to save his life. Regan wrote that in later years, the first lady required major decisions regarding the president's schedule to be run past the San Francisco fortune teller.
After President Reagan's second term, the couple returned to Los Angeles. In 1994, the former president announced he had Alzheimer's disease. Nancy Reagan, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy in 1987, cared for her husband until he died on June 5, 2004.
Following her husband's death, Reagan became a strong advocate of using stem cell research to learn more about Alzheimer's and other diseases.
In her book I Love You, Ronnie, Nancy Reagan recalled her husband's final illness:
"We've had an extraordinary life ... but the other side of the coin is that it makes it harder. There are so many memories that I can no longer share, which makes it very difficult. When it comes right down to it, you're in it alone. Each day is different, and you get up, put one foot in front of the other, and go -- and love; just love."
Peyton Manning Will Announce Retirement
(Reuters) - Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will announce his retirement from the NFL at a news conference in Denver Monday, bringing an end to a career that will surely land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, ESPN and nfl.com reported on Sunday.
Manning, who turns 40 later this month, will be going out on top after helping the Broncos to a Super Bowl upset victory last month over the Carolina Panthers, the media outlets reported, citing sources close to the quarterback.
The decision comes as the Broncos faced a Wednesday deadline in which Manning would be guaranteed $19 million from Denver for the 2016 National Football League season if he remained on the team's roster.
One of the most prolific passers ever in the NFL, Manning revolutionized the quarterback position during an 18-year career that included two Super Bowl titles, five most valuable player awards and a slew of passing records.
Manning came across as a laid back southern boy but on the gridiron he was a clinical, ruthless competitor with an off-the-charts football IQ who changed plays at the line of scrimmage to outsmart opposing defenses with his dead-on accuracy.
He played his final four seasons in Denver but his prime came during the 14 years he spent in Indianapolis where he led the Colts to two Super Bowls berths, winning the big game in the 2006 campaign.
In addition to his career yards and passing touchdowns records and his record five MVP awards,Manning's Super Bowl win gave him an NFL record 200 career wins including playoffs.
He also became the first starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl with two different teams.
A foot injury hampered Manning for much of the 2015 regular season and he showed a distinct loss of throwing strength.
But after his return from a six-game absence, he avoided mistakes and helped support the fierce Broncos defense during an improbable late run to the NFL title as the oldest quarterback to start and win a Super Bowl.

BET Founder Robert Johnson Defends Zoe Saldana Casting In ‘Nina’
The studio behind the Nina Simone biopic has released a statement defending the decision to cast Zoe Saldana as the iconic entertainer, despite the major backlash over her appearance in the film’s trailer.
According to Indiewire, RLJ Entertainment Chairman and founder Robert Johnson said the actress should be judged by her work in the film, not her look.
On Wednesday, (March 2) the trailer to Nina was released with the Afro-Latina actress in darker makeup and prosthetic nose. The debate about the film’s casting has boiled for years after the Simone estate essentially shamed the casting of Saldana as the worldly entertainer. Johnson, who is also the founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), added “The most important thing is that creativity or quality of performance should never be judged on the basis of color, or ethnicity, or physical likeness. Quality entertainment should be measured by the sheer force of creativity and the commitment that an actor or actress brings to the performance.”
Saldana attempted to calm the backlash this week with a quote by Nina herself on Twitter. The move didn’t work as the estate for the singer responded in a not-so-friendly way.
Time will only predict the critical reception of the film. So far, there have been three biopics on Black icons presented this year. The Jesse Ownes film Race is currently in theaters, Nate Parker’s The Birth of A Nation on Nat Turner will be released October 7 and Nina will land in theaters April 22.
OH MY? DJ Quik Goes On Drug-Induced Twitter Rant, Blames Kanye
Dj Quik had a drug-induced meltdown online last night..and it’s all being blamed on Mr. Twitter fingaz himself – Kanye West.
The Cali rapper was in his feelings after everyone gave Yeezy credit for “bringing El DeBarge back.” Yeezy featured DeBarge on his T.L.O.P. song “Highlights,” but Quik and DeBarge teamed up as early as 1998 on the tracks “Hand In Hand,” “EL’s Interlude” and “Medley For A ‘V’ (The P***y Medley).”
So Quik decided the only way to ease his pain was to get obliterated, and he tweeted all about it…
