#RHOA: Kenya Moore Admits The Reason She Picks The Wrong Men
We saw a whole different side of Kenya Moore this week, and learned a lot about her up-bringing. Kenya revealed she ran away from home as a 12-year-old and somehow made it all the way to Detroit from Texas. While Kenya was never shy about having a strained relationship with both of her parents, it really sank in this week that she overcame a lot growing up. Kenya herself admits this troubled relationship with her father has greatly affected her track record with men, and maybe this closure with her dad helped her to get in the relationship she is in now. We have yet to see Kenya and her new man Eugene Casciaro, so we have no idea what this relationship is like, but for the sake of being positive let’s hope it’s great! Why Kenya chose to show her family issues on camera this season we do not know, but it seems it was helpful and she is happily moving forward with her life! She sat down with Bravo and got even deeper about her relationship with her father, elaborating on some of what we saw in this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta!
Bravotv.com: Do you think you’re ready for a serious relationship now?
Kenya Moore: I’m a work in progress. During my journey I’ve learned that I have to take the time to address and ultimately resolve some deep emotional family issues that may be the underlying reason I have been choosing the wrong men. I have had some amazing long-term relationships filled with love. However, I have broken up with the majority of those men for reasons I’m discovering now. I’ve pulled the cart before the horse in the past, and I am breaking the cycle by working on myself first and prior to any serious relationship.
Bravotv.com: How difficult was it opening up to your dad?
KM: It was very difficult, because I have never had a real heart to heart with my dad. He was 15-years-old when he learned he was going to be a father. He was a baby himself having a baby in the ‘70s. I could never understand why I’ve had so many ups and downs with my father. Whenever he had become hurt, he masked it with anger and stormed off and I would not hear from him for months, sometimes years.
I have always known he has loved me, but I didn’t think he has always shown it in the proper way especially when I was a teenager and needed him the most. Even now as a woman in my forties, I still need my father. All “little girls” need their daddies. Fathers instill us with self-esteem from with their love, acceptance, and approval. We don’t seek it consciously from men in our lives often accepting abusive men as a result of this emotional void.
When he came to visit, I was at a point where I needed resolution and that meant I had to really connect with him and be honest about the pain I have caused him. I have never addressed or apologized to him for running away from his home at 12-years-old. We both needed closure.
Bravotv.com: Were you surprised to see your dad get emotional?
KM: My father is a lot of things, but he has never been emotional around me. He is prideful, strong-willed, and stubborn as hell. I am my father’s daughter. I was shocked to see tears come from his eyes. It broke my heart to hear that I made him feel like he wasn’t good enough. It still breaks my heart to know we spent more than half my life at odds unnecessarily hurting each other. But after having our heart to heart, I realize how proud I am of him. I’m thankful that we have grown together. He is not perfect, but he is my family and the only father I have. Most importantly, I know he has always wanted me, unlike my mother. He has never abused me, he has never set out to hurt me, he has never disowned me — all things my mother has done.
Kenya had a lot to say and it seems that heart-to-heart with her dad was exactly what they needed! It’s obviously harder for men to get emotional on camera and you could tell that their conversation was genuine. Kenya didn’t note if her and her dad are still in a good place but it’s safe to assume that they are. It’s great for Kenya to have her dad back, and a new man in her life. It looks like next week things get crazy and I’m hoping for her sake she didn’t just show up at her mother’s house with the Bravo camera’s like the preview alludes. We never know what we’re going to get with Kenya, and next week we are in for a wild ride….all the way to Detroit!

THE GOLDEN GLOBES 2016 Winners list:
Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant was Sunday night’s big winner at the 73rd annual Golden Globes.
Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s survival drama was named best drama by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with DiCaprio taking home best actor and Iñárritu winning best director. The three awards were the most by any nominated film.
The Revenant was followed close behind by The Martian, which was named best musical or comedy by the Globes; star Matt Damon won best actor in a musical or comedy for his work in the Ridley Scott blockbuster.
Other film winners included Brie Larson (best actress in a drama for Room), Jennifer Lawrence (best actress in a musical or comedy for Joy), Sylvester Stallone (best supporting actor), Kate Winslet (best supporting actress for Steve Jobs), and Aaron Sorkin (best screenplay for Steve Jobs).
Going into the broadcast, Todd Haynes’ Carol and Adam McKay’s The Big Short paced the nominees with, respectively, five and four nominations. Both films went home empty handed on Sunday night.
On the television side, two newcomers to the Globes ceremony took home top honors: Mr. Robot was named best drama series, while Mozart in the Jungle took home best comedy. Other first-time winners included Rachel Bloom (best actress in a comedy for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Lady Gaga.
This year’s Golden Globes ceremony was hosted by Ricky Gervais. The acerbic comic made his fourth appearance as Globes host, and first since the 2012 broadcast, and promptly trashed Hollywood’s best and brightest with a biting monologue. He later mocked Mel Gibson and Bill Cosby.

OOOPS! Caitlyn Jenner Pulls The Plug On “Up Close And Personal” Tour
She was planning on traveling to five cities this February to speak on transgender issues but it turns out Caitlyn Jenner won’t be embarking on her “Up Close and Personal” tour after all.
According to several sources, the “I Am Cait” star has backed out of her contract with the Unique Lives and Experiences organization, which had her booked at venues in Denver, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver.
And while the official reason for the cancellation is “scheduling conflicts,” many are speculating that slow ticket sales and lack of interest forced Jenner’s hand. After all, she was charging $40 for cheap seats all the way up to $500 for a VIP package.

BULLSH*T! NYPD Black Sergeant In Eric Garner's Death Faces Departmental Charges!
This is the first departmental charge of wrongdoing in Eric Garner's case.
AP) -A sergeant has been stripped of her gun and badge and charged internally in the July 2014 chokehold death of Eric Garner, the first official accusation of wrongdoing in the case that helped spark a national movement on the role of race in policing.
New York Police Department Sgt. Kizzy Adonis was one of the supervising officers at the scene of Garner's death on Staten Island during an arrest on suspicion of selling loose, untaxed cigarettes. She was not part of the team out investigating that day but heard the radio call and was nearby and responded to the scene. Adonis is black and so was Garner.
Officials said Friday that Adonis was charged with failure to supervise, an internal disciplinary sanction. Sgt. Ed Mullins, the head of her union, called the charge ridiculous and political.
"She didn't have to go there - she chose to go there to help out and look what happens," he said, adding it was Commissioner William Bratton, not Adonis, who is to blame. "This incident stems from failed policies that ultimately led to the death of Eric Garner."
The encounter, caught on video by an onlooker, spurred protests about police treatment of black men.
Garner, an asthmatic father of six, was seen yelling, "I can't breathe!" 11 times before losing consciousness. The medical examiner found the chokehold contributed to his death. Coupled with police killings of unarmed black men elsewhere in recent months, the death became a flashpoint in a national debate about relations between police and minority communities.
No one has been charged criminally. Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who is white and who applied the hold, remains on desk duty. A grand jury refused to indict him on criminal charges. The chokehold is banned under NYPD policy; Pantaleo has said he was using a legal takedown maneuver called the seatbelt.
No one else in the case has yet to face departmental charges, and the internal disciplinary review is on hold pending a federal inquiry, at the request of the U.S. attorney general for the Eastern District, police said.
But Adonis had been promoted to sergeant shortly before Garner's death, and the charges extend her probationary period until her internal case is completed, officials said. For officers not currently under criminal investigation, the department has 18 months to file internal charges. It wasn't clear if any other officers involved in the case would face internal charges by the deadline, which is Jan. 17.
"The NYPD, in consultation with the United States Attorney's office, served the departmental charges at this time in order to preserve the disciplinary statute of limitations and all further proceedings concerning the Garner inquiry will continue to be stayed until the conclusion of the federal investigation," the department said in a statement.
Internal charges can lead to loss of vacation days up to dismissal from the department. Garner's family settled with the city for $5.9 million.
Actor Sean Penn Secretly Met With El Chapo and that is why he was Caught!
The life of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán is like a movie, but this is ridiculous. Actor Sean Penn secretly met with the drug lord while he was still in hiding after his latest escape from a Mexican prison.
Reports the New York Times:
Joaquín Guzmán Loera, the Mexican drug lord known as El Chapo, started out in business not long after turning 6, selling oranges and soft drinks. By 15, he said in an interview conducted in a jungle clearing by the actor and director Sean Penn for Rolling Stone magazine, he had begun to grow marijuana and poppies because there was no other way for his impoverished family to survive.
Now, unapologetically, he said: “I supply more heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana than anybody else in the world. I have a fleet of submarines, airplanes, trucks and boats.”
Though his fortune, estimated at $1 billion, has come with a trail of blood, he does not consider himself a violent man. “Look, all I do is defend myself, nothing more,” he told Mr. Penn. “But do I start trouble? Never.”
The seven hours Mr. Guzmán spent with Mr. Penn, and the follow-up interviews by phone and video — which began in October while he was on the run — marked another surreal turn in his long-running effort to evade the Mexican and American authorities.
El Chapo was captured by the Mexican Navy after a gun battle in the coastal city of Los Mochis in Sinaloa. Reportedly, it was the kingpin’s desire to make a biopic that led to his capture. The Mexican government plans to extradite El Chapo to the United States to face multiple charges of drug trafficking.
