President Obama Talks Letting Loose During Presidency In GQ’s Man Of The Year Issue
President Barack Obama has to be one of the nation’s most charismatic and down-to-earth presidents we’ve seen thus far. He has a magical aura that makes him appear to be easy to talk to and someone fun to hang around talking politics...or anything else.
In a new interview with GQ magazine for their 20th annual Man Of The Year Issue, POTUS credits his cool attitude to having a good temperament, meaning he doesn’t fold under pressure.
As he embarks on his eighth and final year on the job coming this January, we’ve seen the leader of the Free World start to loosen up a little, exuding this inner confidence that has caused some of us to fall in love with him all over again. Hey, it’s not like he’s up for another election, so POTUS has "let his hair down." And we’re loving it.
Below are a few highlights from his sitdown with sports columnist Bill Simmons where the Commander-In-Chief talks about having no fear (anymore) during his Presidency, Ferguson, Charleston and Donald Trump.
He even talks about Malia Obama's dating life, Sasha and Maila’s obsession with their smartphones, his wife First Lady Michelle Obama, basketball, his guiltiest TV pleasure and smoking cigarettes.
Check it:
Was there a point in those first three years where you started to feel overwhelmed by the job? Where you were just like, “My God, I just had no idea this was going to be this hard!”
I had a pretty good handle. One thing I learned during the campaign was that I’ve got a good temperament. I don’t get too high and I don’t get too low. I’m able to stay focused even when there’s a lot of stuff going on around me.
When Ferguson happened last year, I was waiting for Obama the Person to come in. But you had to be President Obama. How you handled Charleston this year and Selma—that was Obama the Person. So what happened with Ferguson? Do you wish you had handled that differently?
You know, the challenge of Ferguson and all issues related to police shootings, race, and the criminal-justice system is that in order to actually get something done, you have to build consensus. Expressing simple outrage without follow-up is often counterproductive. In the case of Ferguson, I’m the attorney general’s boss. If I chime in with a strong opinion about what’s happened, not only do I stand to potentially damage subsequent law-enforcement cases, but immediately you get blowback and backlash that may make people less open to listening. What was different in Charleston was the clarity of what happened—that allowed, I think, everybody to be open to it.
If you were campaigning against Donald Trump, would you even bother? Would it be like LaBradford Smith talking trash to Jordan or something?
I would’ve enjoyed campaigning against Trump. That would’ve been fun.
You win the election in 2008, and Twitter is just becoming a thing. Over the course of your presidency, that’s the biggest thing that’s changed. What’s the biggest challenge with all that stuff?
Has anyone come to the White House and picked up your older daughter for a date?
No, but I’ve seen some folks glancing at her in ways that made me not happy.
What’s the most entertaining conspiracy theory you ever read about yourself?
That military exercises we were doing in Texas were designed to begin martial law so that I could usurp the Constitution and stay in power longer. Anybody who thinks I could get away with telling Michelle I’m going to be President any longer than eight years does not know my wife.
What’s your guiltiest-pleasure TV show? Don’t say Game of Thrones, because that’s a good show.
Probably the guiltiest pleasure—and this is kind of lame—is Big Break. You know, on the Golf Channel? Which is kind of a silly show. [laughs] But I find it really relaxing.
Number of cigarettes you’ve smoked in the White House since you got here?
Zero in the last five years. I made a promise that once health care passed, I would never have a cigarette again. And I have not.
Awesome! Good Job Mr. President for kicking that habit.

Oh? Kenya Moore says she the NEW QUEEN of R.H.o.A also says NOBODY MISSES MS NENE LEAKES!
Kenya Moore stopped by New York Live earlier this week to dish on her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars. Unsurprisingly, Kenya did not hold back, sharing what she thinks about Kim Fields, NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield, Cynthia Bailey, and the peachiest of them all, Peter Thomas.
Kenya acknowledged that Kim threw her “a lot of shady looks” when she asked her to help direct Life Twirls On. “I wasn’t expecting that,” she admitted. “In the coming weeks, you’ll see if it’s a good fit or not.”
It’s hardly a mystery, as Kenya‘s opinion of Kim turned sour, “You know, some people are made for reality TV and some people aren’t. I mean, you have to be kind of interesting, right? I don’t [find her interesting].” OUCH!!
When asked if NeNe‘s absence changed the dynamics of the show, Kenya said, “It didn’t. We opened to 3.7 million viewers, so clearly we’re doing just fine without her. Listen, you can’t deny the fact that she is one of the originals, and she helped to build a platform that we have now, but times change. There might just be a new queen as a ruler now.”
When you feel cleaner, it shows. Only Cottonelle® has CleanRipple® Texture that gets you clean enough to Go Commando. Get your personalized commando kit with a free sample and experience it for yourself.
NeNe is gone, though sadly not forever, but Sheree, another original, is back and not about to let Kenya appoint herself Queen. On New York Live, Kenya claimed she was taken aback by Sheree’s attitude towards her when she asked a few innocent <bats eyelashes> questions about Chateau Sheree.
“It was a little strange, you know, because Sheree and I, we are neighbors now, we live 500 feet from each other, we literally can walk to each other’s homes,” said Kenya. “I was kind of excited, and then you know, when we met, it seemed like she was upset, because of what was already known about her house not being completed after four years of being under construction. I didn’t think I was saying anything that was out of line. It was just, well, those were the facts.”
Kenya snarked, “I was just making conversation, like, ‘Girl, it’s been four years. You still haven’t finished that house. It’s an eye sore. You got all these fines.’ I offered to start a Kickstarter for her, to finish it. I don’t think that went over well.”
Moving on to everyone’s favorite Kenya topic, her dating life, Kenya said she hesitated to allow that part of her life be filmed again.”Honestly, I did, because that’s where I think people think I’m most vulnerable,” she said. “I’ve always had boyfriends. I’ve had a boyfriend the entire time, various ones, while I’ve been on the show. But, let them tell, I can’t get a man, they’re imaginary, I have to pay for one. I just let them talk. Bringing my love life back to the screen sort of takes that power away from them. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I am just going to be me.”
When asked about Cynthia and Peter‘s marriage woes, Kenya shared, “I said to Peter, I wasn’t happy with the way he made light of their situation, joking about it. She was in a lot of pain. She called me in pieces, and I remember that conversation, and I don’t like to see my friends hurting. So for her husband, who was the cause of it, to make it seem like it was a joke… I thought it was just in very poor taste and very insensitive.”
Kenya continued, “My advice will always be the same… you have to do what makes you happy. It’s not about what makes me happy or anyone else. If you’re no longer happy, then you need to make a change. And you might just see that coming up.”
TELL ME CAN KENYA REPLACE NENE AS QUEEN BEE?

Mo’Nique wants you to know why she lets her Hubby CHEAT!
Mo’Nique recently spoke with True Exclusives on a wide range of subjects, including what she feels is the secret to having a successful marriage.
Her secret? Honesty — even if it means admitting you want to have sex with someone else.
“Honesty. That’s it. When I hear men say ‘I don’t tell my wife everything, you crazy?’ and I hear women say ‘I ain’t telling my husband that, you crazy?’ So you mean you trust somebody else other than the person you lay with every night, you slept with, you cried with, you make love to? So I think those long lasting things is simply honesty and communication. It’s got to be your best friend. You’re laying with this person every night. If you can’t tell that person how you feel, then you’re in a bad way.”
Mo’Nique further explained why she feels couples should give each other a ‘pass to cheat’.
“The person that you stood up and you said ‘for better, for worse, sickness and in health, richer or poorer’ you took those vows in front of the universe. If you don’t live by them, then maybe you shouldn’t have taken them. And when you say ‘a pass to cheat’—see, when you’re with your best friend and you say to your best friend: ‘I’m having these feelings about this person, sexually, and I want to share it with you.’ When you’re best friends, you can have those open and honest conversations. Often times, people cheat because of something they’re not getting. But when you have open and honest dialogue, and you say we’re just human beings. And all these people on the face of the earth, do you think my eyes won’t ever say ‘he’s fine’ or ‘she’s attractive’?”
“Now, if you want to go further with it, let’s be honest enough to have those conversations. What is it about that person that you find that you want to sleep with? Because they may give you something that I’m simply not willing to do. And if that’s the case, how can I be mad? Because I’m not going to do it. Should I deprive you of not having it? That’s when the relationship is real.”
Ultimately, Mo’Nique feels the idea of cheating being a deal-breaker in relationships is a Western idea derived from a culture of ownership.
“We’ve been taught to have ownership, and that’s the Western way to do it. I’m not sure where you originate from, but I originate from this place called Africa and what I know about African kings—tell me one of them who just had one wife. Do you know any of them? I don’t. That’s where I originate from. So when we came here, we adopted other people’s ways, and that’s called ownership. There was a time when I was owned before. I don’t want to be owned anymore.”
Do you agree with what she’s saying?
Rihanna has a New Holiday Sock Collection coming out, But NOT Her Own Line of ‘MaRihanna’ Marijuana Coming Out
*Rihanna is giving fans a quick peek at her upcoming holiday-themed sock collection for Stance.
The singer, currently preparing to release her 8th studio album “ANTI,” teamed with Stance as contributing creative director this past July.
“She creatively pushes the boundaries in everything she does,” Senior VP of Stance’s women’s division Candy Harris told Women’s Wear Daily at the time of the announcement. “It’s nice to work with out-of-the box ideas for our brand.”
Rihanna said of the partnership, “I’ve had a great relationship with Stance for a long time and I am happy to be working with them on such a fun and creative project.”
Her holiday sock collection will be available Nov. 19. Now A sketchy report circulated the internet this week claiming Rihanna is set to release her own brand of marijuana called MaRihanna.
As we suspected, the report is totally false. Rih shot down the rumors on Instagram.
The rumored line was to include several varieties of cannabis — Karibbean Kush, Haitian Haze and Jamaican High Grade—as well as many different edibles and concentrates.
Welp, that’s too bad. Maybe Rihanna will venture into the marijuana business in the future — you know, after she finally gives us Anti.
