Benzino and Althea fired from 'Love & Hip Hop Atlanta'!
"Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" stars Benzino and Althea "Thi Thi" Heart have been fired from the cast of the hit VH1 reality show. Benzino and Althea have been beefing for months with co-stars Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez. Now it looks like producers have taken a side as TMZ reported on Wednesday that Benzino and Althea have been given the boot.
Benzino and Althea feuded with Stevie J and Joseline throughout most of season 3 of "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta." Their drama hit a peak at the "LHHATL" reunion show when Joseline Hernandez attacked Althea on stage just as filming started. On her way off stage, Joseline also attacked Tammy Rivera and Mimi Faust.
With Joseline being the aggressor, why would the "LHHATL" producers give Benzino and Althea the boot? Some sources suggest that Althea and Benzino have been blamed for the vicious reunion show fight. Prior to Joseline and Stevie J charging across the stage, it was Benzino and Althea commenting on their drug use that got the notorious pair angry.
Others have said that it comes down to contract negotiations. Althea Heart was reportedly and "unpaid guest" on season 3 of "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" because she is Benzino's fiance. For season 4, Althea wanted to get paid. It looks like producers didn't want to pay Althea though and refused to give her an official spot on the show.
When the bottom line is ratings, is it possible that Mona Scott-Young kept Stevie J and Joseline on the show because they are more popular? Of course their over-the-top antics will have a good draw. Despite Joseline's erratic behavior and violence with other cast members, it looks like we will be seeing much more of Joseline and Stevie J on season 4 of "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta." As far as Benzino and Althea, there's still Hip Hop Weekly. Hopefully the reality stars will be able to line up other projects so fans can keep up with their lives.
