#MAGFAB: “The Reintroduction of Kamala Harris” for Time Magazine!
The new nature of the 2024 race has merited Vice President Kamala Harris the Time Magazine cover treatment with a story by Charlotte Alter.
“The Reintroduction of Kamala Harris” was published on Monday and led with a description of the scene last week in Philadelphia when Harris introduced her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D):

The soundtrack suggested a Beyoncรฉ concert. The light-up bracelets evoked the Eras Tour. And the exuberant crowd—more than 14,000 strong, lining up in the rain—resembled the early days of Barack Obama. Inside a Philadelphia arena on Aug. 6, Vice President Kamala Harris was greeted with a kind of reception a Democratic presidential candidate hasn’t gotten in years. Fans packed into overflow spaces, waving homemade signs made of glitter and glue as drumlines roared. When Harris introduced her new running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the cheering lasted more than a minute.

Alter’s story focused on “the swiftest vibe shift in modern political history.” She described the attitude of Democrats with Harris at the top of the ticket thusly: “Democrats resigned to a ‘grim death march’ toward certain defeat, as one national organizer put it, felt their gloom replaced by a jolt of hope.”

Alter also asked: “Where has this Kamala Harris been all along?” Citing Harris’s failed 2020 presidential campaign and her subdued role as Biden’s No. 2, Alter wrote that her “own party underestimated her”:

Suddenly, she seems matched to the moment: a former prosecutor running against a convicted felon, a defender of abortion rights running against the man who helped overturn Roe v. Wade, a next-generation Democrat running against a 78-year-old Republican.

The story quoted several notable Democratic figures to answer that questions, including Bakari Sellers, who worked on Harris’s failed 2020 campaign: “We did a disservice to her in 2020 … We Bubble-Wrapped her.”

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) also told Time: “She has gone from being a Padawan to a Jedi Master.”

#RHOA: The Zolciak-Biermanns Head Closer to Foreclosure As They Cut Mansion Price Again
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann cut the asking price of their Georgia mansion after struggling to sell.
Facing foreclosure, the couple have until August 26 to sell the mansion and sort out their financial woes.
Zolciak's debt includes court fees and credit card bills, while Biermann is in debt to casinos and his lawyer.

Tax issues, marriage drama, legal repercussions, and mansion woes have been plaguing The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the Don’t Be Tardy stars Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann for a really long time. Following their divorce and threats of foreclosure, Zolciak and Biermann have been trying to sell their Georgia mansion. However, they have not been having much luck, as Realtor.com reports that the estranged married couple have cut mansion prices once again. They are now selling the mansion for the asking price of $3,950,000 after cutting down the price by $250,000.

The original asking price was $6 million, and that was last fall. However, not many prospective buyers showed any interest in buying the mansion. Since the fall, the asking price has been cut. The price of the mansion was dropped by $300k, and it was listed for $4.2 million. That means that it was 30% of the original asking price before being cut by $250k, costing $269 per square foot.

This news comes as Zolciak’s latest reality TV gig, The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets, is on air. It also comes after reports from July state that Zolciak’s daughter Brielle Biermann is being sued for an alleged car crash. The victim states that Biermann crashed into his car, but Biermann denied any involvement.

As of August 2024, the couple has less than three weeks until foreclosure. As the bank will resume foreclosing if the mansion does not sell by August 26, the couple are more desperate than ever to sell their mansion. Because of the immense debt that they have, the bank resuming foreclosure will add to the financial issues that continue to haunt them. As they have previously succeeded in getting the foreclosure delayed, the bank will not give them more time again.

As foreclosure looms, the couple still have a lot of tax issues and divorce to sort out. A date for the divorce trial has been set for November, but they have a mediation deadline for September. As for the tax issues, Zolciak paying off the court fees and her credit card bills could be the start to alleviate the debt. However, no reports have been made of Zolciak paying off her debts. Maybe a return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta amid Kenya Moore’s exit could be her financial saving grace.

However, the pair owe millions in debt, so paying off their taxes will come as a challenge. Following their divorce, there have been multiple reports of the pair facing individual financial woes. Biermann is in debt to the casinos and his lawyer also sued him for unpaid legal fees. Zolciak, who has had a history of reckless spending, also shares a debt with her daughter. It will not be long until August 26. Hopefully, their mansion can be sold by then, or they will have more issues on top of their growing debt to sort.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta will return with Phaedra Parks in 2025, and all episodes and Zolciak, new episodes of Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets air every Tuesday on MTV.

#MusicNews: Leon Bridges Announces Album "Leon"

Leon Bridges is back soon with a new album. Leon, the follow-up to 2021’s Gold-Diggers Sound, arrives October 4 via Columbia. Below, watch the video for lead single “Peaceful Place.”

Bridges recorded Leon with producer Ian Fitchuk at Mexico’s El Desierto studio, and with co-producer Daniel Tashian in Nashville. “Leon has been a long-time coming,” Bridges wrote in a statement. “I started writing pieces of it as far back as Gold-Diggers Sound. They didn’t fit what I was trying to do with that album, and I tried moving on. But I couldn’t shake them because they’re part of me. And, if I’m honest, also because I think this is some of my most excellent work yet.”
In many ways, Leon has been in the works since my childhood. This record is about simpler days. It’s about time spent in my beloved Fort Worth and the experiences that made me the man I am today. It’s soulful music in the truest sense—it’s imbued with my soul. I’m excited to share these stories about my home, about nostalgia, about my upbringing, about where I’m from, with all of you. I hope this music brings you back to your roots and your journey.

In recent years, Bridges has made music with fellow Khruangbin. In 2020, they shared the Texas Sun EP, and, two years later, they dropped the Texas Moon EP.

#HipHopNews: The Lox’s Tiny Desk Concert is Pure Hip-Hop Magic
The Lox pulled up with an epic set for NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series.
Whoever said hip-hop isn’t a form of legit musicianship A - shouldn’t be listened to and B - has never seen real spitters on NPR’s Tiny Desk. Luckily for them, The Lox served up a proper education when they popped out for a Tiny Desk performance that debuted today. Peep it for yourself below.

Over the course of about 17 minutes, Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch run through various songs from both their group and their own individual catalogs, flaunting the same organic chemistry that helped them triumph over The Diplomats in their Verzuz match a few years ago. With supple live instrumentation in the background, they were able to showcase the subtleties of their breath control, tonal inflections and all-around stage presence for an exhibition that’s got the whole rap community grinning.

Kiss opened things up by performing “Recognize” before Sheek Louch jumped into “Good Love.” From there, Styles performed “Good Times,” and a bit later, they all performed “Kiss Your Ass Goodbye.” There’s more there, but you’ll just have to watch for yourself.

Check out the whole performance HERE The LOX: Tiny Desk Concert

2024 Olympics Day U.S. women's basketball wins gold;
The final day of competition for the 2024 Paris Olympics ended with the United States winning gold in women's basketball and women's omnium.
U.S. women’s basketball wins gold in thriller over France
The U.S. women’s basketball team could not have fought harder for its eighth consecutive gold medal and 61st straight Olympic victory with a 67–66 win over France. Team USA fell behind by 10 points to open the third quarter due to France’s excellent ball movement, quick cutting to the basket and defensive pressure forcing turnovers.

Yet the U.S. kept its cool and chipped away at France’s lead with physical play. France had no answer for A’ja Wilson — which is the case for most opposing teams — who dominated play inside the lane and ran the floor for easy scores.

Wilson scored a game-high 21 points with 13 rebounds, demonstrating that she is likely the best women’s basketball player in the world right now. She was named FIBA MVP of the women's Olympic tournament.

Kelsey Plum and Kahleah Copper each scored 12 points. Copper’s performance toward the end — with 10 points in the fourth quarter — drew a response from Wilson during NBC’s postgame interview that provided one of the Paris Olympics’ most hilarious moments.

Gabby Williams led France with 19 points but if she had 20, the game would have gone to overtime. Her jump shot at the end banked in, but she had her foot on the line for a 2-point shot rather than the 3 France needed.

Sexual Assault Charges Against T.I. And Tiny Dropped

T.I. and Tiny’s sexual assault case from 2001 has been dropped—at least for now.
Attorneys for the couple filed a motion to dismiss based “on the grounds that plaintiff’s claims are time-barred and that she fails to allege facts sufficient to state any claim.”

In 2001, the plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe accused Clifford “T.I.” Harris Jr. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris of sexual assault, battery, negligence, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress in a lawsuit filed Jan. 2 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Doe claims to have met the couple at the VIP section of a nightclub in Los Angeles in 2005. The plaintiff, who was a member of the U.S. Air force, was handed a drink by Tiny. Shortly after, per the plaintiff’s complaint, she was taken to a nearby hotel where Tiny took off all Doe’s clothing, got undressed herself, and were joined by a nude T.I..

“Plaintiff was then directed to get in the shower and T.I. and Tiny entered the shower with her,” her lawyers write. “Plaintiff was extremely shocked and uncomfortable.” After the shower, the accuser claims she began to feel “extremely dizzy and lightheaded” and was “visibly drugged” as T.I. told her to get into bed.—according to Billboard.

In several statements made by the rapper and singer, they’ve said, “the claims in this story have changed time and time again.” Further, they emphatically deny the claims and maintain their innocence.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “The lawsuit against T.I., 43, and Tiny, 49, was filed under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act. The law allows civil suits in cases of sexual assault that had gone past the statute of limitations, when “one or more entities are legally responsible for damages and the entity or their agents engaged in a cover up.” The act allowed for suits to be filed through the end of 2023.”

The motion to dismiss was filed in June. While Doe has a week-long window to file an amended complaint, if she does not file, the case will be dismissed without prejudice.

Last Sunday, T.I. was mistaken for another person of the same name and arrested at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. That person weighed 200 pounds. T.I. weighs 165 pounds. VIBE previously reported on the incident.
T.I. has since told TMZ that “the police were just doing their job.”

Isaac Hayes’ estate sues Trump, demanding $3M for unauthorized song use

Isaac Hayes’ estate has sued Donald Trump for copyright infringement over his unauthorized use the late star’s hit, “Hold On, I’m Coming” at his rallies.
Isaac Hayes Enterprises filed papers on Sunday, Aug. 11 for 134 counts of copyright infringement between 2022 and 2024 and is seeking a whopping $3 million in licensing fees in just a matter of days.

“We demand the cessation of use, removal of all related videos, a public disclaimer, and payment of $3 million in licensing fees by Aug. 16, 2024. Failure to comply will result in further legal action,” said Hayes’ son, Isaac Hayes III.

“It is most unfortunate that these artists have publicly posted on their social media and asked Team Trump and other candidates not to use their music — and yet their candidates keep using their music,” commented James L. Walker Jr., an attorney for Hayes Enterprises.
Trump has riled up many artists by using their songs without permission.
Just days ago, Celine Dion condemned Trump’s use of her Titanic theme song “My Heart Will Go On” at his Montana rally.

The 56-year-old Canadian singer called out the former U.S. president for unauthorized usage of the video, musical performance, and “likeness” of herself that was used as part of his campaign stop on Friday, Aug. 9, as he continues to battle it out with Kamala Harris to be re-elected.

“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing “My Heart Will Go On” at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. … And really, THAT song?” reads a statement on her official social media channels.

Ella Mai & Jayson Tatum Share First Look At Their Newborn Baby
Jayson Tatum has had a year full of wins. After becoming an NBA champion and an Olympic gold medalist, fans recently learned that his newest trophy is a beautiful new baby with his speculated partner, Ella Mai.

Ella Mai is known for being a multi-platinum recording artist. While fans suspected she was pregnant during the NBA Finals, she never publicly addressed the situation. The “Boo’d Up” songstress has not posted on social media in about six months. After the videos of the couple with their new baby surfaced online, fans headed straight to her last picture on Instagram to leave tons of comments.

One fan exclaimed, “I’m so sad she didn’t get the chance to announce her pregnancy. Social media ruins everything; it would have been so cute.” Another user explained, “I hope that you announce your relationship soon. They are a beautiful couple. Congratulations on the baby. I feel jealous, LoL.” Someone else asserted, “Could’ve at least posted the baby feet and name dang Ella.”

Unfortunately, today’s fans believe they are entitled to know everything about their favorite artists’ lives. Tatum received similar responses following the NBA Finals and received some backlash following his lack of playing time during the 2024 Olympics. Tatum struggled to find his moments on the court alongside elite stars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, and more.

While many of the comments were meant to be funny or light-hearted, one thing that all fans can agree on and could never doubt is that he’s a winner in more ways than one. While the two talented humans have yet to announce their relationship publicly, they are most definitely making the most of the tremendous year that Tatum has had.

Tatum has already shown countless viral moments with his firstborn child, nicknamed Deuce. With a new child in the fold, he is sure to create more unforgettable experiences with his growing family.

Elle King Slams Dad Rob Schneider's Recent Comments About Drag Queens & the LGBTQ Community

Elle King is opening up about her relationship with dad Rob Schneider and some his recent comments.\
The 35-year-old singer made an appearance on Bunnie Xo’s podcast Dumb Blonde, and slammed her father’s comments about the drag queens at the Olympics, how he sent her to fat camp when she was little and more.

“If I would ever spend a summer with my dad, it would be on a movie set. I would just get lost in the shuffle,” she shared. “If I ever messed up a shot, if I ever was talking, I would get in fu–ing trouble.”
Elle noted how she and her father didn’t really connect until she was much older.

“I was like a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp…and then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight,” she said. “I had already started getting tattooed and it was like 108 degrees. So I had to wear sweaters because my dad was very anti-tattoos or any form of self-expression that differed from what he wanted.”

“I disagree with a lot of the things that he says,” Elle added. “You’re talking out of your ass and you’re talking sh-t about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And it’s like, get f–ked. He’s just talking out of his ass, and I want to use this opportunity to say, I disagree! I do not agree with what he says!”

Recently, Rob was one of the many who was upset about the drag queens performing in the Olympics opening ceremony.

“I am sorry to say to all the world’s greatest athletes, I wish you all the best, but I cannot watch an Olympics that disrespects Christianity and openly celebrates Satan,” he wrote on X. “I sincerely hope these Olympics get the same amount of viewers as CSPAN.”

During the podcast interview, Elle was asked if she ever got help from her dad, presumably in the entertainment industry.
“He never helped me. I also never wanted his help,” she said. “He also didn’t have a very good reputation. I don’t want to be associated with him… He’s just not nice. You can want someone to change so much. You can’t control anyone else’s actions and you can’t control people’s feelings. All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.”

WOW!!!

Katie Couric Calls Out CBS for Replacing Norah O'Donnell With 2 Men
Katie Couric is speaking out. The 67-year-old journalist and former CBS Evening News presenter wrote a guest essay for The New York Times in which she called out CBS for replacing Norah O’Donnell as the host of CBS Evening News with two men, Maurice DuBois and John Dickerson.

Katie herself hosted CBS Evening News for five years from 2006 to 2011.
She doesn’t have a problem with the new anchors themselves, and even says she’s a fan, but she’s criticizing the hiring of two men for evening news on broadcast TV in a male-dominated space, as Lester Holt already hosts NBC Nightly News and David Muir hosts ABC World News Tonight.

“It was more than a little disappointing to read that Ms. O’Donnell would be replaced by two men, John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois. Don’t get me wrong: I know, like and respect these two journalists. But soon, on the big three networks, there will be four male anchors. Yes, the talented Margaret Brennan will be contributing stories from the Washington bureau for CBS, but the two people who will be greeting Americans watching the CBS evening newscast will be men,” she writes.

“More important, the three people behind the scenes, making most of the editorial decisions, will be three white men: Bill Owens, Guy Campanile and Jerry Cipriano,” she continues.
While she praised Jerry for always having her back during her own run, she adds that “male writers occasionally have blind spots,” and news will be dominated by male points of view during a year “that could result in the election of the first woman president, and first woman of color as president.”

“It’s a potentially historic story — one that needs a diverse group of journalists covering it,” she continues.
“Nearly 20 years ago, I wanted to be the face of CBS Evening News because I knew that for the audience — especially little girls and little boys watching at dinner time — the image of a solo woman anchor could be game changing,” she says. “Whether it’s in politics, sports or other once-male-dominated fields, seeing diversity in leadership inspires our imagination about who can and should fill these roles.”

“The incoming anchors and executives will be curating the evening news for an aging audience — when you watch the commercials, it’s pretty evident which demographic is tuning in — but the broadcast still attracts over four million viewers on average every night,” she adds. “It’s odd and more than a little out of touch that even while CBS has announced a restructuring that introduces an additional layer of women executives, the leading editorial decision makers will mostly be men.”

Pregnant Cardi B Shows Off Her Baby Bump in Stylish Shoot

The rapper posed in a leather jacket, ripped jeans and sleek shades in the photos she shared on Instagram on Aug. 10
The pregnant rapper, 31, shared a carousel of photos from a recent photo shoot on Instagram on Saturday, Aug. 10.

She was the embodiment of casual chic in the images, wearing a fitted, moto-inspired leather jacket over a white T-shirt which was rolled up to display her bump in every shot. She also sported a pair of ripped wide-leg jeans and finished off the look with a pair of bright yellow stiletto heels.

The "Bodak Yellow" singer ditched her jacket in one photograph, but kept a sleek pair of black sunglasses on.
"Time will tell," Cardi captioned the carousel of photos, which Niecy Nash-Betts showed love for in the comments with a string of heart emojis.

The new bump photos came just a day after the soon-to-be mom of three shared photos and videos of her two kids with her estranged husband Offset — daughter Kulture Kiari, 6, and son Wave Set, 2 — on her Instagram Stories.

Cardi filed for divorce from the "Need It" rapper, 32, in July after six years of marriage and shared on Instagram a day later that she is pregnant with her third child.
She has experienced some health issues during the pregnancy, and revealed on X Spaces earlier in August that she tore a ligament in her pelvis in a "freak accident" after slipping down stairs. She said the incident almost resulted in pregnancy loss.

"When I woke up, I couldn't move my bottom at all. Like, just moving my feet was hurting the bottom of my stomach. I couldn't move. I felt like paralyzed," she recalled.
Cardi said she was hospitalized for three days and administered morphine.

"I dilated and I was having contractions every two minutes for a whole 24 hours," the performer said. "So they had to monitor me and I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't move for two days straight."

Miley Cyrus Honored as Youngest-Ever Disney Legend at D23
She’s got the best of both worlds: Miley Cyrus became a first-time Grammy winner this year, and now she’s been named a Disney Legend.
Lainey Wilson took the stage to introduce Cyrus, performing her own lively rendition of the “Hannah Montana” classic “The Best of Both Worlds.” After the song, she told the singer, “Miley, I want to thank you for never being afraid to step outside the box, always staying true to yourself, and most importantly, always kicking butt.”

“I’m gonna let everybody get on a little Disney Legend secret. I’m the one that tells you what you’re not supposed to know. And what I want to say, is that legends get scared, too. I’m scared right now, but the difference is we do it anyway, and all of you can do that every single day. It’s legendary to be afraid and do it anyway. There is no such thing as failure when you try,” Cyrus said as she wiped away tears.

“In 2005, Disney was on a mission to rebuild the company. That’s why they hired Bob Iger, and me,” Cyrus continued with a laugh, recalling the process of being cast in “Hannah Montana.”
“I stand here still proud to have been ‘Hannah Montana,'” Cyrus said. “This award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing, loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life,'” she added, referencing the ‘Hannah Montana’ song of the same name.

At the star-studded ceremony on Sunday night at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Cyrus was honored alongside costume designer Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Disney Parks cast member Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Marvel comic artist Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, animator Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, imagineer Joe Rohde and John Williams.

Disney’s Legends awards program is a hall of fame for individuals who have had a significant impact on the Disney legacy. Past honorees include Christina Aguilera, Stan Lee, Betty White and Oprah Winfrey.
Cyrus’ journey with the Mouse House began when she was just a tween, starring in the massively popular Disney Channel comedy “Hannah Montana” as an ordinary girl with a pop star double life. The series spawned a world tour, concert film and feature film — and made Cyrus a household name. It drew an average of 4.4 million viewers per episode, and still holds the record for the highest-rated basic cable series telecast ever from a 2007 episode that notched 10.7 million viewers.

Toni Braxton Says She Almost Suffered A Fatal ‘Widowmaker’ Heart Attack, Believes Her ‘Guardian Angel’ Traci Protected Her

Toni Braxton recently opened up about a serious health scare that could’ve claimed her life, sharing that she believes her late sister, Traci Braxton, was watching over her during the
The emotional revelation came during the series premiere of The Braxtons, which aired on August 9 on We TV.

As the Braxton family gathered for dinner, Toni hesitated before revealing her recent health struggles to her sisters, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar, as well as their mother, Dr. Evelyn Braxton. In a confessional, Toni admitted to viewers that she was reluctant to share her news, given the family’s recent trauma from losing Traci to esophageal cancer just two years ago.
“I know I have to tell the girls about a health scare, which makes me feel some kind of way,” she explained. “The last health scare we heard was Traci. On the brink of Traci stuff, I don’t want to get them riled up, ‘Oh, is Toni okay?’ So I don’t even want to tell them. Maybe I shouldn’t. I don’t know.”

Despite her concerns, Toni bravely told her family about what could’ve been a fatal experience with a “widowmaker” heart attack—a particularly deadly type of heart attack caused by a significant blockage in one of the heart’s major arteries.
According to WebMD, the widowmaker is often sudden and can be fatal if not treated immediately. Fortunately, Toni’s doctors caught the problem just in time, saving her life.
“If I had a heart attack, I wouldn’t have survived, I wouldn’t be here right now,” she shared, her voice trembling with emotion.

As she wept in the arms of her mother and sisters, Toni revealed a profound belief that Traci was her guardian angel during the health scare.
“They told me your sister was watching over you because they were right, you should be dead today. You should not be alive,” she tearfully recounted.
This frightening experience is not Toni’s first encounter with serious health issues. In 2007, she was diagnosed with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation and damage to various parts of the body, including the heart. Despite this, Toni has continued to push forward in her career, but her recent heart problems have forced her to confront the reality of her condition.

Toni disclosed that she had to undergo a procedure to place a stent in her heart, a measure to prevent further complications. However, doctors have warned her that she may eventually need bypass surgery.

This news of course has taken a heavy toll on Toni’s mental health, leading to constant anxiety about the possibility of a heart attack.
“It’s crazy anxiety. I just think about it all the time… It’s really messed up that I’m scared every day. If I have a heart attack, I won’t survive. I can’t handle even that feeling,” Toni confessed.
The premiere episode of The Braxtons offered a candid and emotional glimpse into Toni Braxton’s ongoing health struggles, as well as the healing challenges faced by her entire family. The show highlighted not only Toni’s vulnerability but also the Braxtons’ collective journey through grief, their day-to-day challenges, and the complexities of life after loss.

Fans can continue to follow Toni’s journey on The Braxtons airing Fridays at 9:30 p.m. ET on We TV.

John Legend To Release ‘My Favorite Dream’, An Album Of Lullabies For Children And Families
Multi-platinum, 12-time Grammy Award-winner John Legend today announced that he will release My Favorite Dream, an album of sing-alongs and lullabies for children and families, via Republic Records: Kids & Family on August 30.
Produced by singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens, the project features nine original tracks written by Legend. As part of a collaboration with Fisher-Price, the album also includes three bonus tracks with covers of songs from their beloved toys. In conjunction with the album announcement, Legend shared the lead single from the project titled “L-O-V-E.”  The bright, up-tempo anthem, featuring his wife (Chrissy Teigen) and two oldest children (Luna and Miles Stephens) on backing vocals, with single artwork created by Luna.

“I’m right in the thick of fatherhood,” says Legend, father of daughter Luna (8), son Miles (6) and two toddlers, daughter Esti and son Wren. “My parents loved to sing around the house, making up bedtime songs for us and songs to motivate and inspire us. And Chrissy and I also love singing to our kids.  We make up little jingles and ditties for them all the time. In our home, music is very important to the way we interact and communicate with them.”

And that’s what sparked My Favorite Dream. At his wife’s suggestion, Legend played his own interpretation of one of his babies’ favorite songs, “Maybe” — the hit single about a Purple Monkey in a Bubblegum Tree from the award-winning Fisher-Price Kick & Play Piano Gym.  Teigen and Legend later shared a video of him serenading their daughter Esti at the family piano. The heartfelt moment inspired fans to encourage Legend to release an album of children’s songs and lullabies.

“Once I started thinking about it, I decided I wanted to write a whole new children’s album,” recalls Legend. “I just took it on as a challenge to write some original lullabies and children’s songs that I would want my kids to hear, something we could share with kids and parents all over the world.”

Regarding the album’s lead single “L-O-V-E,” Legend said, “Love is the central theme in so much of my life from family to music to philanthropic work to everything I do in business,” he adds. “This song captures the spirit of what I always wanted this album to be. I wrote it as an anthem to celebrate our common humanity and bring a smile to people’s faces. I hope this song is uplifting and inspiring for everyone.”

Social Media Clowns Tyrese For Imitating Marvin Gaye During His National Anthem Performance, Tyrese Responds
Tyrese’s attempt to channel Marvin Gaye during his national anthem performance at the Rams vs. Cowboys preseason game on Sunday has people talking.
Social media clowned the singer for trying to recreate Gaye’s iconic 1974 rendition when he sang for the Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders.

Fans couldn’t resist roasting Tyrese, criticizing his singing and questioning why he chose such an iconic performance to imitate. Meanwhile, some are speculating that a biopic might be in the works.
But we all know Tyrese wasn’t about to keep quiet.
He took to Instagram to clap back, saying, “Thank you…… You’re always welcome here….. respectfully I don’t really know if I agree…. Few bad notes? Mheeeee that’s an open mic for you….. God is the greatest we live in the best county in the world and I really really tried #MarvinGayeAnthemLALakers #GreatWesterForum83 #TyreseAnthem2024SofiStadiumLARams.”

Doubling down on his choice, he added, “Teddy-Marvin-Donnie-Wonder-Gibson is my name.. Smile… it’s a viiiiiibbbbeeeee!!!!!!!”

It’s clear Tyrese was feeling himself despite the backlash, but social media remains divided. Some appreciated the effort, while others think he should’ve left Marvin Gaye’s legacy alone
