Yolanda Londie Elisabeth Lacenia Favors was an American reality tv star and alum of Porsha’s Family Matters.
Born August 21st 1989, she was a cousin of Porsha Williams, the former RHOA star who the spin-off was based on.
Londie was the daughter of a decorated Atlanta area attorney, Yolanda Favors, a Georgetown educated lawyer.
Like many family members of Porsha Williams, Yolanda appeared on Porsha’s Family Matters.
Tragically, Yolanda died on August 7th 2024 at the very young age of 34.
Porsha Williams announced the tragic news with a post on her Instagram page.
Heartbroken, Williams praised Yolanda for being the perfect friend and sister whose impact on their lives was immeasurable.
She wrote: “Londie – you were our best friend, our sister, our aunt, our cousin, and so much more. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure,”
Williams added: “The impact and value you provided all of us during your time here was tremendous,”
The news of Yolanda’s death stunned many, including many fans of Porsha Williams who remembered seeing Londie on the Bravo show.
“So young! She was always ready to speak her truths on the show! I could tell she was a good person. Prayers for the family,” one social media user wrote.
Losing a loved one is deeply traumatic, particularly one so young. Porsha Williams appears deeply heartbroken over this tragedy. Condolences to her and the entire Williams and Favors families at this difficult time.

Chloe Bailey released her sophomore album, Trouble in Paradise, on August 9 via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.
Fellow singer Tinashe commented, “Oh snap !!!!!” on the post. Recently, Bailey hopped on the “Nasty” remix.
Trouble in Paradise’s debut single, “FYS,” dropped on March 1. The second single, “Boy Bye,” arrived on April 12, just in time for the singer’s Coachella performance. At Coachella, Bailey revealed the name of her second studio album.
When discussing the inspiration behind the album, Bailey told Billboard, “It’s what a summer fling feels and tastes like. I have been obsessed with the Caribbean, so definitely Afrobeats-inspired, island vibes. That’s what I’ve been inspired by, so you’ll definitely hear some little nuances of that in there.”
Trouble in Paradise was recorded mainly in Saint Lucia. On August 6, the artist shared the upcoming album tracklist and a snippet of the fourth track, “Redemption.”
The upcoming LP is set to have 16 tracks and features, including from Ty Dolla $ign (“Might As Well”), Anderson Paak (“Favorite”), YG Marley (“Never Let You Go”), her sister Halle Bailey (“Want Me”), and Jeremih (“Shake”).
The actress shared an album teaser on her social media. The caption states, “songs from my diary, inspired by my favorite island. trouble in paradise and a few visuals to go along with, will be yours at midnight.”
Trouble in Paradise comes more than a year after the singer’s debut album, In Pieces. The project included 14 tracks with collaborations from Chris Brown (“How Does It Feel”), Missy Elliott (“Told Ya”), and Future (“Cheatback”). The LP reached number 119 on the Billboard 200 and number 17 on Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.

#HipHopNews: Ye And Ty Dolla Sign's 'VULTURES 2' Lands No. 2 Spot On 'Billboard' 200 Chart
Taylor Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT reclaimed the No. 1 spot for its 14th non-consecutive week. According to the publication on Sunday (Aug. 11), it sold an additional 142,000 album-equivalent units.
VULTURES 2 sold 107,000 units in its first week and could’ve been Ye’s 12th project to land the top spot on the Billboard 200 if not for Swift. The 16-track effort contained contributions from Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, Don Toliver, Future, Lil Durk and Playboi Carti, among others. Standout cuts included “FIELD TRIP,” the Young Thug-assisted “RIVER,” “530” and “BOMB,” which saw North West rapping in Japanese.
VULTURES 2 notably experienced numerous delays before it eventually hit streaming platforms. The project was originally slated to come out on March 8, then May 3, as announced on Justin Laboy’s “The Download” podcast the month prior. On top of that, the LP missed its scheduled Aug. 9 release date, instead dropping hours after midnight the following day (Aug. 10).
Had the album debuted on time, it’s very possible that Ye and Ty Dolla Sign could’ve scored another chart-topper.
During an interview with Billboard, the “Or Nah” singer spoke about the body of work, which was intended to be shared via a Yeezy app. “Why not? Switch it up. [Ye’s] always got something up his sleeve. I always got [something] up my sleeve,” Ty Dolla Sign explained. “We got all the songs. Basically, it’s just like, ‘How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’”
The duo’s first installment, VULTURES 1, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in February. Its standout cut “CARNIVAL” featuring Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid also topped the Hot 100.
Akili McDowell Reportedly “Armed And Dealing” Drugs Before Arrest
Akili McDowell was recently arrested, and at the time, he was reportedly seen “armed and dealing marijuana.” According to DailyMail, the Billions actor was known as “the weed man” in the Houston apartment complex where he would make most of his sales.
Robert Garretson, 72, told the outlet that he often saw him carrying a gun holstered on his hip and claimed to have his own “tense” encounter with McDowell. Garretson claimed the actor threatened him after complaining about Akili’s friend parking in his assigned parking space. “I often saw him carrying a black glock in his waistband,” Garretson said. “I’m not scared of him. I survived Vietnam, and now I have cancer. I don’t have any worries about dying.”
Answering the question of “What was McDowell’s connection to Cesar Peralta?,” Peralta’s sister told the outlet that her brother had been buying marijuana from the entertainer. She told the outlet that Peralta, 20, was an aspiring rapper looking to get connected with a producer, to which Akili allegedly told him that he could make that happen.
Prosecutors recall Cesar and an unnamed individual pulling up to the parking lot of the Thorntree Apartments to speak with the rising actor. McDowell and Peralta got into a “fistfight” after words were exchanged before the former whipped out a pistol and started firing. Peralta’s sister told the outlet that Akili allegedly “shot him for no reason.”
Since Cesar Peralta’s death, his family has posted a GoFundMe to raise me to bury the 20-year-old in his home country of Honduras.
The star of David Makes Man was arrested and booked on Thursday (Aug. 1) in connection with the July 20 event. McDowell was charged with murder and theft and has been suspected of killing Peralta fleeing the scene.
Law enforcement was summoned to a crime scene where they found Cesar Peralta, who had multiple gunshot wounds on his person, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Larsa Pippen‘s true reason for ending her relationship with Marcus Jordan, according to a close source, has been revealed.
Marca reports that sources close to Pippen stated that Jordan’s “nonstop wild partying” spelled the eventual end to the brief couple. The sources also stated that Larsa’s former flame was “lying to her every day” about using drugs.
“She can’t waste her energy on anyone who takes drugs,” the source detailed to the outlet. “He’s been hiding this lifestyle for a while and used to lie to her about it every day.” The unnamed person elaborated on the revelation, stating that Larsa Pippen stopped taking phone calls from Jordan after his erratic behavior became too much to handle.

Disney Channel Star Skai Jackson Arrested After Public Fight With Boyfriend
According to TMZ which first reported the news, the 22-year-old had a run-in with he law when she and her boyfriend visited Universal CityWalk. What was supposed to be a fun date apparently turned tense between the couple, who was seen engaging in an argument at the park.
Law enforcement sources say deputies were called to Universal CityWalk after security spotted Skai and her boyfriend's altercation which turned physical, with the actress allegedly pushing him more than once. Sources say security clocked the altercation and detained the couple until law enforcement arrived.
When deputies arrived, Skai and her boyfriend reportedly denied that they had an argument. They reportedly insisted that they were happily engaged and even expecting a baby together.
Deputies, however, reviewed video footage and saw the former Disney Channel star pushing her boyfriend. She was eventually arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and cited, but released a few hours later.
The case will be reviewed by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office to determine if charges are warranted. Reps for Skai have not responded to a request for comment on her recent arrest, while the identity of her boyfriend remains unknown as the star has been keeping her man off social media.
Skai is best known for for playing Zuri Ross on the Disney Channel sitcom "Jessie" (2011-2015) and its spin-off series "Bunk'd" (2015-2018). She appeared on TIME's list of the "Most Influential Teens" in 2016, and was nominated for Best Influencer at the Shorty Awards in 2017.
Since then, Skai had voice roles on "Marvel Rising" TV shows and animated series "DreamWorks Dragons: Rescue Riders". She competed in the 29th season of "Dancing with the Stars" and made her writing debut with "Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback" (2019).

“As a result of a recent injury and in consultation with my doctors, I’ve been advised that I’m not able to perform on August 17 at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City,” Gwen, 54, wrote. “I’m so sorry and we are planning to reschedule the show as soon as possible. The No Doubt frontwoman did not reveal the specifics of her injury or share how long her recovery is expected to be. Aside from the August 17 show, Gwen also has upcoming concerts at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 20, the South Star Music Festival on September 28 and Live Out Monterrey on October 12.
Additionally, Gwen will be returning as a coach for the upcoming season of The Voice, which premieres on September 23. This will be her eighth season as a coach and marks her return after taking off for season 25 earlier this year.

Kirk Franklin is trending on social media after sharing some candid thoughts about Christianity as a guest on Cam Newton’s “Funky Friday” podcast.
The Grammy Award-winning Gospel music icon stirred up conversation when he stated his belief that marriage has been weaponized in Western Christianity.
“I believe that marriage, giving, and sexuality have been weaponized in Western Christianity,” he said.
Kirk continued, “Any woman listening to this can attest: ‘Don’t be a 30, 35-year-old single Black woman and go to the family reunion.’ All the older women will look at you and ask, ‘Why aren’t you married?’”
“It’s like a prerequisite for identity and value. If you don’t have a man or kids, then something about you is broken. Do you understand how dysfunctional these messages are and how we superficialize them?” he added.
Kirk Franklin also mentioned, “[Apostle] Paul said that marriage is a necessary distraction. I have many friends in ministry who were told by their churches, ‘If you’re going to be in ministry, you can’t be single.’ So people rush into marriage, thinking they’re fulfilling God’s will for their lives, but they’re actually fulfilling man’s dogma.”
“You can be single and be used by God. You can be single and have purpose. Being married is not a prerequisite for God’s hand in your life. It’s not. But we’ve weaponized it, and then we crucify people when those same marriages fail.”

WCBS-AM To End All-News Format And Become ESPN New York
WCBS-AM 880 is dropping its all-news format and instead will become the new home of ESPN New York.
Audacy, the owner of the New York station, announced the change Monday, one that leaves WINS-FM as the only all-news format station in the nation’s largest market. The changes are effective on August 26.
“The headwinds facing local journalism nationwide made it essential to strategically reimagine how we deliver the news for the most impact,” Chris Oliviero, New York market president of Audacy, said in a statement.
According to the Writers Guild of America East, 23 members were laid off.
Audacy will continue to own the 880 frequency, but as part of the deal with Good Karma Brands, which runs the ESPN radio network, the call letters of WCBS will be changed to WHSQ-AM.
The station has had an all-news format since 1967, when it was launched at the urging of CBS founder William S. Paley. In 2017, CBS merged its radio stations with Entercom, which later changed its name to Audacy.
Audacy will continue to serve as the exclusive rights holder of the New York Mets, and games will continue to air on 880.
The WGAE said in a statement, “The closure of WCBS Newsradio 880 is another example of consolidation by a major media conglomerate, which ultimately deprives the public of critical local news stories with different perspectives. Audacy’s decision is even more egregious given that this is a critical election year. This is a giant loss for New York City and the news industry at large.”
WINS-FM — marketed as 1010 WINS at 92.3 FM — also is owned by Audacy.
Oliviero said that 1010 WINS@92.3FM “moves forward as New York’s only 24/7 all-news station with the best distribution platform, the largest audience and the most recognized brand in the industry. All-news is a pillar of Audacy and this decision, though difficult, fortifies that leadership position for generations to come.

The hip-hop superstar recalled the experience and challenges of convincing Wonder to commit to the project, sharing how it took persistence and patience to make the collaboration happen.
“[Stevie] said, ‘Okay, y’all could come down. I’m gonna do it.’ So we went down to the studio, and he was in the middle of recording a song for himself, which was fantastic. So we were waiting, and then after that, he had to eat,” she explained. “We waited through him eating, went back into the studio, and he says, ‘I think I’m gonna do it tomorrow.’ I was like, ‘What?!’ I was like, ‘He had us come all the way down.’ Okay – you gotta just be grateful to be in the room. And so we left.”
Lyte continued, “And then the following day I was like, ‘Is he gonna do this?’ You know, so I hit Warryn up all, can you find out if he’s gonna do it? ‘Oh, I forgot to call you. He did it already. And he sent it to me.’ I was like, ‘Thanks. I’m over here sweating,’ because we’re at the ninth hour. But yeah, he did it and he also played a harmonica at the end. And, you know, he’s such a sweet and loving guy.”

“[Stevie] said, ‘Okay, y’all could come down. I’m gonna do it.’ So we went down to the studio, and he was in the middle of recording a song for himself, which was fantastic. So we were waiting, and then after that, he had to eat,” she explained. “We waited through him eating, went back into the studio, and he says, ‘I think I’m gonna do it tomorrow.’ I was like, ‘What?!’ I was like, ‘He had us come all the way down.’ Okay – you gotta just be grateful to be in the room. And so we left.”
Lyte continued, “And then the following day I was like, ‘Is he gonna do this?’ You know, so I hit Warryn up all, can you find out if he’s gonna do it? ‘Oh, I forgot to call you. He did it already. And he sent it to me.’ I was like, ‘Thanks. I’m over here sweating,’ because we’re at the ninth hour. But yeah, he did it and he also played a harmonica at the end. And, you know, he’s such a sweet and loving guy.”

Her first record deal, how she had to ask her mom’s permission to attend the meeting – “[My friend] called me one day while I was in high school, and he asked me, did I want to go meet a record label that was looking for a female MC And I was like, sure – of course I had to ask my mom. And literally, the decision as to whether it would happen or not was all hers. Because she had to allow me to get on the Staten Island ferry to go to Staten Island…”.
Her acting career, her first role, why she turned down a role in a horror film, enrolling in acting school – “I wasn’t ready, you know, and there are some things in life that you can just systematically do, and it works out okay. But there are certain things that you must prepare for. And if no one ever says, ‘You need to prepare,’ you might even think that you’re cool enough to just walk in there and, and do it and do it well. And that was not the case with acting… I didn’t have no business in that movie anyway. It was like [‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’]. It was like one of them scary movies, which I don’t really like. And, now that I can sort of pick and choose what I want, they know I don’t do goblins ghosts, I don’t do draculas, werewolves. I don’t mess around with any of that kind of stuff… Anyway, I wasn’t prepared. So, I decided to move to LA and get into acting class…”.
How the love for Hip-Hop is still embedded in her – “I didn’t even know that the love for Hip-Hop was still embedded in me the way that it is. And it was sparked, and because of that, I got into a real zone about what I wanted to say, how I wanted to say it, what I wanted to say it on, [and] who I wanted to say it with. It just became laser-focused. And it hadn’t been that way for a while because life, you know, I’m trying to do this and that and that, and broadening the business. And, so it is easy to take your eyes off of something that means so much to you when you have all of these other things going as well as distractions. And so once I was able to sit down and get it going, I just was really excited…”.

Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake Rattles Southern California – No Immediate Damage Reported
*For our Southern California readers who experienced that shaker around 12:30pm today, it registered a magnitude of 4.4, according to preliminary reports from the U.S. Geologic Survey (USGS). The quake, initially reported at a magnitude of 4.6, was later adjusted to 4.4 which is kind of disappointing in a sense ’cause it felt a LOT bigger than that.
Anyway, the epicenter was pinpointed in the El Sereno neighborhood, approximately 5-6 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. This area experienced a trio of smaller quakes earlier this year, raising concerns among residents.
As the ground shook, Wilson High School in El Sereno evacuated students and staff on what was the first day of the new school year for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) campuses. ABC7 reported the evacuation, which proceeded smoothly, ensuring everyone’s safety.
In response to the quake, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) immediately activated “Earthquake Mode,” deploying crews throughout the city to inspect critical infrastructure and assess potential damage to buildings and other structures. “There are currently no initial reports of structural damage or injuries,” announced the LAFD in a statement. “An update will be provided once LAFD Earthquake Mode is complete. Though no additional earthquake activity is predicted, firefighters urge residents to prepare for any aftershock.”
This seismic event was felt widely across Los Angeles County, extending into Orange County and even parts of Riverside County. As a precaution, Metro advised that trains throughout its transit system would temporarily reduce speed while tracks were inspected for any possible damage.
Public safety agencies across the region also took immediate action, sending crews to check for potential damage to infrastructure and public buildings.

Red Sox OF Jarren Duran Suspended For Two Games For Hurling Anti-Gay Slur At Heckler While At-Bat, Issues Apology
Bosox outfielder Jarren Duran is in some really hot water after yelling an anti-gay slur at a heckling fan at yesterday’s game at Fenway Park against the Houston Astros.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with runners on the corners and the Sox being shutout by the Astros, Duran was being heckled by a fan after fanning a strike from ‘Stros pitcher Hunter Brown. Duran turned his head to behind the plate to someone who could be heard screaming from the crowd. Duran, who was already 0-2 for the game, fired back after a few seconds, calling the heckler a “f*****g f****t”, which was picked up by a live mic on the field.
Duran issued a statement following the game apologizing to the Red Sox organization as well as the LGBTQ community.
Also, Duran’s salary from the suspension will be donated to PFLAG (Federation of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), the largest organization in the country dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for the LGBTQ community.

Flavor Flav Offers to Make Jordan Chiles a Bronze Clock in Wake of Olympic Medal Drama
As the 2024 Summer Olympics come to a close, one of the most disappointed athletes has to be Jordan Chiles, who, in a decision reversal, lost her bronze medal for women’s gymnastics following a scoring discrepancy. While Team USA continues to challenge the decision, women’s sports most unlikely champion, Flavor Flav, has offered to step in and at least offer Chiles a consolation piece of jewelry- a bronze clock he vowed to have made specially customized for her.
