“Social justice is not just a literacy, it’s a lifestyle,” she continues. “What do I think about [posting] a black square? I think everybody has a different feeling about a black square. Do I think there’s such a thing as performative activism? Yes. Do I think there’s been true activism that’s been very important and needed? Yes. Do I believe Black lives matter? Yes. Do I believe this is going to get louder? Yes. Do I believe it should? Yes.”
“I used to wake up every day and remember I was Lady Gaga — and then I would get depressed,” she says. She was afraid of leaving the house. The idea of her every waking move being available for public consumption filled her with extreme dread. Gaga had, of course, been famous for some time, but she had never really dealt with these feelings. “I was peeling all the layers of the onion in therapy,” she says, “so as you dig deeper, you get closer to the core, and the core of the onion stinks.”
“Freedom for me is when I can go to the darkest part of my heart, visit things that are hard and then leave them behind,” she says just before saying goodbye. “Give them to the world, and spin all the pain into a puddle of gold.”

How To Honor RBG By Supporting Her Favorite Causes!
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg forged a trailblazing legal career championing gender equality and civil rights. Outside of the courtroom, there were several causes close to her heart.
In 2019, the Berggruen Institute, an independent think tank, awarded Ginsburg its annual $1 million prize for Philosophy and Culture, praising her as "a constant voice for justice, equal and accessible to all." She donated the winnings to dozens of nonprofits, including the organizations below.
Malala Fund
Long before she became known as the "Notorious RBG," Ginsburg was an excellent student. The daughter of an immigrant father, Ginsburg credited her luck to growing up in America where she had the chance to go to school and succeed.
But around the world, forces like war, poverty and discrimination prevent more than 130 million girls from getting an education. The Malala Fund, founded by Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, advocates for girls' stable access to free, safe and quality schooling.

American Friends of Hand in Hand
Ginsburg, the first female Jewish justice on the Supreme Court, dedicated her life's work to inclusion and equality. So does Hand in Hand, a network of integrated public schools where Jewish and Arab children in Israel learn together -- and from each another -- with the hopes of fostering peace, respect and understanding.
Ginsburg looked to future generations for faith in a better future. In accepting the Berggruen Prize, the great-grandmother said, "One of the things that makes me an optimist is young people."
American Bar Foundation
Even after finishing at the top of her Columbia Law School class, Ginsburg remained a lifelong scholar of the law. Prior to joining the Supreme Court, she served as secretary and on the executive committee of the American Bar Foundation (ABF), a preeminent legal research institute. The justice became a fellow of the ABF in 1978.
"As a former board member and Patron Fellow, Justice Ginsburg has played a key role in making the ABF the institution it is today," said ABF Executive Director Ajay K. Mehrotra in a statement.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City is among the top cancer hospitals in the world.
Cancer touched Ginsburg and also her two closest champions. Her mother, Celia, died from cervical cancer the day before Ginsburg's high school graduation. Ginsburg's husband, Martin, successfully battled testicular cancer during law school while Ginsburg attended classes for him. They were married for 56 years before he passed away from metastatic cancer in 2010.
Ginsburg herself had colon cancer surgery in 1999 and later received treatment for lung and pancreatic cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Through it all, the justice said her job kept her going. "The work is really what saved me," she told NPR, "because I had to concentrate on reading the briefs, doing a draft of an opinion, and I knew it had to get done. So I had to get past whatever my aches and pains were just to do the job."
Washington Concert Opera
Ginsburg was a devoted opera fan. She could often be found in the audience on opening nights of shows around Washington, DC, including the two seasonal productions each year at the Washington Concert Opera.
Ginsburg made her Washington National Opera debut in "The Daughter of the Regiment" in a spoken -- not sung -- cameo role. "While I have a passion for music," she told Opera News, "I have no talent as a performer."

Jane Fonda says she once went skinny-dipping with Michael Jackson!
Jane Fonda has opened up on her friendship with Michael Jackson, revealing the pair once skinny-dipped together.
It came as the 82-year-old reflected on a period in the 80s when she was closely acquainted with the King of Pop while filming 1981 movie On Golden Pond.
“I skinny dipped with him,” she shared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “How about that? Put that in your pipe and smoke it.”
Fonda didn't elaborate on the exact circumstances that lead to the encounter but did explain some more details of the time they spent together.
“When I was making Coming Home - not Coming Home; On Golden Pond up in New Hampshire, he came and lived with me for about a week, in the same home. He slept on a mattress that he pulled out on the floor of the living room. I slept on a loft upstairs,” she said.
The Grace and Frankie star described the late Jackson as a "very touching and "interesting" character.
“I knew him pretty well. I went to his house a lot. He came over to my house a lot,” she said.
Fonda said their friendship didn't extend into his later years as they didn't stay in touch.
Brandy On Thea Vidale’s Claims She Was Disrespectful Back In The Day: She’s Just A Little Bitter!
Brandy has a few words after her former TV mom Thea Vidale appeared to support Monica ahead of their iconic Verzuz battle.
Before Brandy and Monica went head-to-head last month, Thea Vidale, who played Brandy’s mom on the sitcom “Thea”, seemed to make it clear on Twitter that she was supporting Monica as she accused Brandy of being disrespectful.
It’s not clear if the tweets actually came from Thea Vidale, but Brandy has now responded to them.
“She didn’t have an altercation. I would just have to say that Thea didn’t really treat me the way that I deserved to be treated. I was a child. I respected her and I loved being on her show. I felt like that was the stepping stone to get to my music career.”
She continued “I think that maybe she’s just a little bit bitter, because I haven’t seen her do a lot since then. So I think it was just a way to get attention. I honestly believe that. She needs a little love right now.”
“Thea” ran for one season from 1993 to 1994. Brandy went on to star in the hit sitcom “Moesha” for six seasons, which has now made its way to Netflix. Brandy also reacted to current-day criticism that her TV dad on “Moesha”, Frank Mitchell, played by William Allen Young, appears toxic.
“You know what, I haven’t even paying attention. I’ve just been so thankful that it’s on such a platform like Netflix and it’s been trending forever. I’m focusing on the possibility of us doing a reboot. My dad can make up for all of that in the reboot.”
What are your comments on Brandy’s response to Thea Vidale?

Halle Berry Confirms She's In A Relationship With Van Hunt!
Is Halle Berry in a new relationship? The Oscar-winning actress seemed to confirm she's dating singer Van Hunt on Thursday, when she posted an Instagram photo of herself wearing a T-shirt bearing his name. Berry captioned the post, "now ya know..."
She also added foot and heart emojis, possibly a reference to two of her previous Instagram posts that had fans speculating about her love life. In a post on her Instagram Story, Berry shared another photo of herself in the shirt, along with an animation of pink hearts.

Usher Previews 'Immersive' 2021 Las Vegas Residency & Upcoming Album!
Usher recently announced that he is heading to Las Vegas in 2021 as the star will perform for fans during his headlining residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The multi-talented recording artist opened up about what fans can expect from the "immersive" show, as well as teased his forthcoming new album backstage during the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Speaking to iHeartRadio's Sisanie backstage, Usher explained of the residency:
"It couldn't have come at a better time. As people are anticipating being able to get back into the flow of things, going to shows, I felt what better moment than to do it now, us coming out of this quarantine, and then being able to take all of what I've done in my life and be able to put it on the stage that I just waited and waited and waited and waited to be able to be on. So many incredible artists, classic legacy artists, have chosen to go to Vegas. Me, I get a chance to bring everybody from all over the world to be able to share this moment with them. I'm going to make it as immersive as I possibly can and try and break a few barriers, try some different things. Maybe I can explain older records and the inspiration for them. And I always try to find ways — well, Vegas allows you to be able to pull all those worlds together, being able to do acting, art, all of it together. So I'm trying to figure out a way to do something really immersive and give you the hits at the same time."
He added, "It is one of the greatest accomplishments of life. It's like, to say that you finally made it to Vegas, you know, legacy artists of our time have made it there and made it big there. Whether it was Elvis [Presley] or Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra or whoever, so many incredible musicians, so many incredible comedians have been able to go there. So I'm just really happy to be able to say that I'm playing in the same [venue] that Celine Dion just was, and now it's my turn to do my thing at the Coliseum."
Usher's Vegas residency kicks off in July 2021 and will continue throughout the month, with several more dates in December, and wrap up on New Year's Day in 2022.
Usher also opened up about his upcoming new album, which will follow Hard II Love. He teased that the project could be coming later in the year. Usher explained:
"I have been working on it for the last two years, and as I've now arrived in this place, I'm ready to offer the beginning of the stories, the beginning of where I was and when I was experiencing what and why I'm able to be in this very happy place that I'm in. So, 'Bad Habits' is the beginning of it. The album, hopefully coming later this year; I'm not putting too much pressure on myself, but what I am doing is making an offering. It's the art to me. When it speaks to me, I feel like it's ready, I go with it. I offer it the way that it comes to me."

Alicia Keys: I Was Supposed To End Up A Prostitute Or A Drug Addict!
In a stunning new interview, Grammy-winning songbird Alicia Keys admits her life is an improbable dream come true – and that she very well could have ended up on the streets.
Keys, who grew up in Hell’s Kitchen before the neighborhood was gentrified, sat down with The Guardian to talk about her favorite songs and her latest album, “Gramercy Park,” which dropped Friday.
“Underdog,” one song off the album that she co-wrote with Ed Sheeran, is deeply personal, she told the outlet.
One line — “The hustlers trading at the bus stop / Single mothers waiting on a check to come” — sums up what the singer could have become.
“I am that person. The one that wasn’t supposed to make it out of Hell’s Kitchen, who was supposed to end up being a prostitute, a young mother at 16 years old or addicted to drugs. I am the one who was supposed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and got injured or killed,” she said.
She went on: “That is why I understand so much about what it means to have the strength to follow your own path. All the songs I’ve ever written that have been considered empowering or uplifting, I’ve written them at my lowest point. Because I needed to remind myself: don’t forget that.”
Hell’s Kitchen is now brimming with multimillion-dollar apartments, but it was hugely different when Keys was growing up.
“The New York that I came from was very dark, very desolate,” she said. Hell’s Kitchen back then “had what looked like movie theaters, but it was all porno places, with hookers on every corner. I had to always wear something very baggy, very dark, always had my hair back; I felt like if people saw me, they might try to touch me. That’s why I’ve always been such a tomboy….”
On her mega hit “Empire State of Mind,” Keys spoke about working with Jay-Z.
“It feels unbelievable – we have this modern-day anthem of New York City,” she said. “But I remember that the first time I performed it in France, I didn’t have to sing one word. Listening to the crowd sing it to me, I realized it has nothing to do with New York, it has to do with hope. That you could have a dream and it could maybe come true.”
LeBron James’ Son Bronny Appears To Smoke Marijuana In Viral Clip!
Bronny James, the son of NBA star LeBron James, is building his own legacy as a threat on the basketball court. Unfortunately, the high school athlete has found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
In a now-viral clip, the 15-year-old point guard is seen smoking what appears to be a blunt on his Instagram stories. While the video has been removed from his account, screenshots of the 6’2″ baller smoking have spread like wildfire on social media.
Many fans proceeded to call out the teen, more so for embarrassing his superstar father than for actually smoking. Others blatantly defended the young man, saying teens are known to experiment and that being the son of a famous athlete doesn’t change that fact.
“Bronny ain’t doin nothing every rich teenager in Cali ain’t doin, but man, why he post that?” wrote one fan, with another adding, “I can’t imagine not having any freedom to be a teen on social media. Just because he is Lebron son doesn’t mean the man can’t live.”
The younger James just finished his freshman year at Sierra Canyon School, a private school in Chatsworth, Calif. Lebron has previously stated that he hopes to play in the NBA long enough to be in the league at the same time as his son.
James’ reps did not respond to messages seeking comment Saturday morning.
Law Enforcement Intercept Package Of The Poison Ricin Addressed To Trump!
Earlier this week, law enforcement blocked a package containing the poison ricin to get to the person it was addressed to, Donald Trump.
The substance was confirmed to be the poison by two tests.
According to the New York Times, letters with the lethal substance were also mailed to federal offices in Texas but were also intercepted. Investigators question whether or not the packages circulated through the United States Postal Service. As for now, they believe the letters came from Canada and that a woman may be the suspect behind the incident.
Due to a White House policy that all mail be sorted and screened at an offsite location before making its way to the White House, the package never reached Trump’s hands. The Federal Bureau of Investigations, as well as the Secret Service, are investigating the incident.
According to CNN, Ricin is a highly toxic compound taken from castor beans that have been used in terror plots and can be used in the forms of powder, pellet, mist, or acid. A person may experience nausea, vomiting, and internal bleeding of the stomach and intestines, followed by failure of the liver, spleen, and kidneys if consumed. It could also lead to death by the shut down of the circulatory system.
“The FBI and our U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service partners are investigating a suspicious letter received at a U.S. government mail facility. At this time, there is no known threat to public safety,” the FBI’s Washington field office said in a statement to CNN in Saturday morning.
