Ellen Page for Porter Edit - February 2019 Says Hollywood Pressured Her to Stay Closeted!
Ellen Page Says Hollywood Pressured Her to Stay in the Closet. In her early 20s, when she had just fallen in love with a woman for the first time but was not yet publicly out, Ellen Page faced endless speculation in the press about her sexuality. That experience, she says, was detrimental to her mental health at the time — especially because people in Hollywood were simultaneously pressuring her to stay in the closet, Page explains in a new interview with Porter Edit.
Page, now 32 and married to dancer Emma Portner, has previously spoken out about her journey to coming out in Hollywood. A year after coming out in 2014 at age 26, she expressed regret “for not being a visible person for the community, and for having the privilege that I had and not using it.” And in 2017, she said that her X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner publicly outed her on set when she was only 18 and not ready to address the issue.
Reflecting on her career before she came out, Page told Porter Edit, “I was distinctly told, by people in the industry, when I started to become known: ‘People cannot know you’re gay.’ And I was pressured — forced, in many cases — to always wear dresses and heels for events and photo shoots.” She continued, “As if lesbians don’t wear dresses and heels. But I will never let anyone put me in anything I feel uncomfortable in ever again.”
Page further said that, despite the intrusive public speculation about her sexuality and the pressure to keep it quiet, she felt a sense of responsibility to come out. “I want to be able to help in any way I can, and I want to make queer content,” the actress said.

The mom-to-be can be seen in the clip singing "Happy Birthday" to Lauren as she helps her blow out the candles on her sis' chocolate cake. A very pregnant Porsha let her baby bump shine in a casual gray tank and denim short shorts.
The Go Naked Hair entrepreneur is deep into her third trimester and is ready to give birth any day now.
#Empire: As the Episode Turns! Turns out Jussie Smollett Didn't Pay $3,500 for Fake Attack
Seems the 'Empire' actor only paid for physical and health training
Jussie Smollett may not have paid the Nigerian brothers to attack him after all. Unidentified sources "connected to the case" tell TMZ that the $3,500 check to Abel and Ola Osundairo was only to get the Empire actor pumped up for a music video. Smollett said he needed abs like Ola's and wrote on the check's memo line, "5 weeks training nutrition plan." This contradicts a police statement (widely reported by outlets like CBS Chicago) that the check was to pay for a falsified attack against Smollett. Seems Abel and Ola told the grand jury the check was for training, and also said they didn't send Smollett a threatening letter about a week before the apparent attack.

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj Had to Postpone European Tour Stop Due To Technical Issues
Nicki Minaj's European tour with Juice Wrld kicked off on Thursday (Feb. 21) and has already had to postpone a show due to technical issues.
Nicki and Juice started things off in Munich, Germany. The second show was set to take place in Bratislava, Slovakia but had to be postponed because of electrical issues at the venue. The site could not support the huge technical portions that are incorporated into her show.
Instead of leaving it at that, the Queen rapper personally explained the dilemma and later had an impromptu meet and greet with fans who showed up.
"We've been trying for hours to get the show to work, and the building says they don't have the power in this building to make this show work," she told the crowd. "I feel horrible because you guys have been here for hours, and they've been trying everything they possibly can."
She promised to return at a later date. Nicki later addressed the issue with fans on Instagram.
"Gutted. Heart broken," she wrote. "I can’t believe my fans sometimes. After waiting for hours & hours, they still tried to be understanding. Production was told the building does not have the power to facilitate my lifts (which don’t only move me below & very VERY high above the stage, but also move all our props, furniture, dancers, band, etc.), our lighting rig, fog, cryo, confetti, movies/visuals. They’d get the show powered up then the breaker would basically trip after a few mins. Juice WRLD & I waited while they did this over & over for 3 hours."
She continued to speak glowingly of her die-hard supporters who made the trip. "Some of my fans came from Austria, Nigeria, etc. I met w/a lot of them & they had the best, sweetest energy," she added. "I’m so disappointed. Slovakia, I love you so much & I’ll do everything in my power to get back to you as soon as I can. I think the venue/promo team probably didn’t expect a rap show to have such over the top production. We run the risk of someone getting hurt if we start the show & smthng malfunctions mid-show. Sorry we couldn’t have a great night together. We’ll be in Poland on Sunday @ a building that can facilitate our show. ♥️ðð―."
Nicki has 20 dates left in the Euro leg of her tour, after which she will return Stateside for the North American leg. She is also gearing up to release her fifth solo album, which she says is complete.
The Hangover Actor Brody Stevens has DIED at Age 48!
The comedy world is in mourning for one of its own with the death of actor and comedian Brody Stevens at the age of 48, People reports. He apparently took his own life, with law enforcement sources telling TMZ Stevens was found hanging in his Los Angeles home early Friday afternoon. The Blast has reported audio from emergency dispatchers on the scene that describes a "hanging." Stevens (real name: Steven James Brody) had parts in The Hangover and The Hangover Part II and was a familiar face on the Southern California comedy circuit, "known for his positive and high-energy sets and warm-up acts," per the Hollywood Reporter. He also co-created, with Zach Galifianakis, a biographical series about himself called Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!
In that series, Stevens talked about his mental health struggles, including bipolar disorder, per the Daily Beast. Sources tell the Blast that Stevens had recently told friends he'd stopped taking his meds because it "dulled" his comic wit. "Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community," his reps said in a statement. "He pushed creative boundaries ... He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed." Hangover co-star Ed Helms posted on Twitter, "Brody Stevens has made me cry with laughter so many times. Can't believe he's gone. A truly marvelous and brilliant human being." And from comedian Marc Maron: "Another singular force of nature gone." Patton Oswalt sent out his own goodbye, imploring those who feel depressed to "please please please please please reach out to ANYONE. I never get to see Brody Stevens again I can't stand this." R.I.P!
Judge Sets $1 Million Bond for R. Kelly After Underage Sex Abuse Charges
More than a decade after he was acquitted on child pornography charges, a stoic-looking R. Kelly was back in a packed courtroom Saturday where a judge set the R&B star’s total bond at $1 million — $250,000 for each of the four sex abuse cases against him. Additionally, Kelly was ordered to surrender his passport and not contact anyone younger than 18 nor of the witnesses personally, on social media or via third parties.
Clad in a black hoodie and jeans, Kelly mostly stood motionless and frowning before Judge John Lyke Jr. after surrendering into police custody late Friday, following a grand jury’s indictment of the singer on ten counts of criminal sexual abuse against three minors and one adult.
Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Gonzalez presented a disturbing string of incidents that spanned from 1998 to 2010 in which Kelly allegedly sexually abused his hairdresser, whom he tried to force into oral sex; a girl he met at a restaurant while she was celebrating her 16th birthday with her family; a 16-year-old fan who asked for Kelly’s autograph at his 2008 trial; and a 14-year-old who appears in a sexually explicit video with Kelly.
On occasion, Kelly looked down or shook his head as details of the charges against him were read aloud. Four men and one woman stood in the gallery in an apparent show of support with Kelly, while at least one of Kelly’s alleged victims and her family sat in the gallery as well. Two of the adult women who are living with Kelly and whose parents insist are being controlled by Kelly appeared at the courthouse but did not speak to anyone.
Steve Greenberg, Kelly’s attorney, argued before Judge Lyke that the singer’s bail be lessened because at 52, Kelly had no prior convictions and was a “lifelong resident of the Chicago area.” Greenberg insisted Kelly was not a flight risk, noting that while he has a passport, it’s empty. “Contrary to the song, Mr. Kelly doesn’t like to fly,” Greenberg said. “He’s not a flight risk because where is he going to go? He’s a recognizable person.”
In petitioning for a reasonable bond amount, Greenberg acknowledged it was well known that Kelly is facing a child support case, a judgment against his Chicago recording studio, and that his record company recently dropped him. “His finances are a mess,” Greenberg said.
With a combined $1 million bail amount, Kelly will have to post $100,000 to secure his freedom. Speaking to reporters after the hearing, Greenberg said he expected Kelly to be out on bond sometime Saturday, or maybe over the weekend, before he’s due back in court on Monday.
Although Kelly’s team said they thought the bond amount was reasonable, Greenberg acknowledged Kelly’s finances are bad enough to a point where Kelly didn’t have the cash immediately on hand, despite years of successful hits. “[R. Kelly] doesn’t have $100,000 sitting in the bank, in a shoebox, anywhere,” Greenberg said. He blamed mismanagement on Kelly’s current money woes, adding he doesn’t even think Kelly owns the rights to one of his most recognizable hits, “I Believe I Can Fly.”
In their respective press briefings, Greenberg and lawyer Michael Avenatti, who says he’s representing at least one of the victims in the grand jury indictment, traded attacks on one another’s clients and credibility.
Following Friday’s indictments, Avenatti held his own press conference detailing a sexually explicit video of Kelly and a girl who is allegedly repeatedly identified as 14 years old, which he obtained from a “whistle-blower” in Kelly’s circle. Avenatti subsequently turned over to Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. The situations Avenatti described in the video are similar to the video that was as the heart of Kelly’s 2008 trial.
At the courthouse on Saturday, curious onlookers tried to catch a glimpse of Kelly, who never emerged.
Cheryl “Cookie” Cook, a longtime Chicago courtroom sketch artist, observed fewer fans and members of Kelly’s entourage showing up in support of the singer this time around. Cook, who sketched the duration of Kelly’s 2008 pornography trial, recalled dozens of Kelly fans standing in support of the singer outside the courthouse daily.
“And it was unwavering,” Cook said. “They were practically groveling at his feet. His entourage would have to flank him so he could get to the SUV.”
Patriots Owner Robert Kraft was out on the Oscars party circuit amid prostitution scandal
Robert Kraft was spotted in LA before the Oscars, according to multiple sources.
The Patriots owner — who’s been accused of soliciting prostitution in Florida — attended a bash thrown by billionaire Ronald Perelman on Friday night.
A source said Kraft was without girlfriend Ricky Lander.
Sources also said Kraft turned up to Barry Diller and DVF’s annual pre-Oscars lunch on Saturday.
Florida cops allege that Kraft was caught paying for the services of a prostitute during “two different visits” last month to the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter.
His reps have said they, “categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity.”
But Kraft has previously been a fixture in Hollywood during the Oscars. In years past, he’s regularly attended Elton John’s annual starry awards viewing gala.
He seems ‘unbothered’

Denzel Washington and Michael B. Jordan are teaming up For a new Movie ‘Journal For Jordan’
Michael B. Jordan is in talks to star in Journal for Jordan, Sony Pictures’ adaptation of Pulitzer-winning journalist Dana Cadendy’s bestselling memoir that will be directed by Denzel Washington. Oscar-nominated Mudbound scribe Virgil Williams penned the script. Jordan also will produce this via his Outlier Society production company.
The 2008 book tells of Canedy’s love affair with First Sgt. Charles Monroe King, who kept a journal of life lessons for their newborn son Jordan while deployed overseas. He was killed in Iraq in 2006 when Jordan was 7 months old, but his spirit lives on in his writings to Dana and Jordan.
Sony tapped Williams for the gig a year ago. It will be Washington’s next helming effort after Paramount’s Fences, which scored four Oscar noms in 2017. Like that pic, Journal for Jordan is being produced by Washington and Escape Artists’ Todd Black along with Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.
Jordan most recently starred in Creed 2 and Oscar Best Picture nominee Black Panther.

#RHoNJ: Teresa Giudice Thinks There’s Nothing Wrong With Flirting With Other Guys While Hubby Joe Is Still In Prison
While insider reports insist that Teresa and Joe Giudice are not over, it turns out that them still being a married couple does not stop the reality TV star from flirting with hot, younger guys while Joe is serving the rest of his prison sentence. Apparently, the woman loves the attention and sees nothing wrong with her flirtatious ways.
As you may know, Joe has been locked up for almost three years now, so it makes sense that Teresa has been living her life and getting used to the fact that her husband was not in it!
Teresa has been developing a passion for bodybuilding, and the results are definitely showing, which is why she feels so great in her skin these days!
So because of that, the attention from men never fails to come, and she usually likes to flirt right back!
Most notably, Teresa was spotted holding hands with a 26-year-old New Jersey realtor named Blake Schreck not too long ago.
One source tells HollywoodLife that she sees nothing wrong with flirting even though she is a married woman.
‘She is being very flirty with a lot of guys right now. Teresa loves to flirt with and has been seen out around town and on vacation and loves the male attention because she is not getting it elsewhere right now,’ the insider explained.
They went on to dish that ‘She has been going out a lot more and living what appears to be a single life even though she is married and not single. She loves to go out with her friends and to have a good time. Guys come up to her constantly and she sees nothing wrong with talking to them and even flirting back.’
