Mariah Carey Breaks Down Her OTT Butterfly Returns Wardrobe With Her Fashion Glam Squad
Mariah Carey is back—and for her The Butterfly Returns residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where she’s performing through September 10th, nothing short of a full-on diva wardrobe would do. “I wanted to wear ensembles that reminded me of Old Hollywood,” she says. “Plunging necklines, flowing fabrics, embellishments, and overall glamour. I was inspired by different textures such as beading and feathers.” To achieve her vision, Carey and stylist Nicolas Bru employed a trio of designers: Paul Surridge of Roberto Cavalli, Antoine Salameh of LaBourjoisie, and Julien Macdonald. “My goal was to style looks that had a certain wow factor,” Bru says. “And compliment Mariah’s incredible talent [of] singing and connecting with her audience.”
For Macdonald, it was a plum assignment. “Mariah is the epitome of feminine glamour,” says the Welsh designer. “She wanted extravagant lavishness with all the trimmings.” His fringe-hem minidress featured over 6,000 Swarovski crystals and took more than 200 hours to complete. “[It] was a Swarovski-on-Swarovski extravaganza,” he adds. 24 karat gold thread made the effect even more resplendent; Bru dubbed the ensemble “Metallic Goddess.”
The OTT factor was also present in Carey’s additional looks. Act two sees Carey don an iconic LBD—reworked by Surridge to include her signature sparkle. “I wanted to strip everything back and focus on Mariah’s iconic look over the years,” Bru says.
For a section that focuses on ballads, Carey wears a red dress by Salameh that evokes the winged creature of the residency’s title. “Mariah is so synonymous with the butterfly, it inspired us to reimagine its emergence through these ground-grazing sleeves that created a new element of drama,” the designer explains. Tonal crystals pepper the bodice for added sparkle, furthering the Old Hollywood vibe.
The final chapter of the concert sees Carey return onstage in another piece by Cavalli trimmed in plumes. Thousands of small marabou feathers and white ostrich feathers were employed to create a dégradé effect. “I wanted to turn up the drama,” Bru says. “When she walks back out, you can hear the audience gasp and cheer.” That was the result Surridge was hoping to achieve. “I grew up with Mariah’s voice; her hits were part of my teen-hood. I wanted a dress that equaled her unique talent and beautiful personality.”
So what does the diva think of her creations? “I’m grateful to work with the designers who created some masterpieces for this show,” Carey says. “We have four very different yet exquisite ensembles. They really deserve to be seen in person.”

Rich the Kid and Chris Brown have an album in the works.
The “Plug Walk” rapper revealed that he and Breezy are putting the finishing touches on a joint project. Taking to Instagram, he posted a photo with the caption: “On tour livin my best life me & Cb finishing up our album.”
The two, who are currently touring together on Brown’s “Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour,” previously collaborated on “Drippin” off Rich the Kid’s debut album The World Is Yours.
Earlier this year, Chris announced a collaborative project with Joyner Lucas called Angels & Demons, which spawned two singles, “Stranger Things” and “I Don’t Die.”
Additionally, Jacquees revealed that he and Breezy have an album in the works. “We wanted to make R&B,” the Cash Money crooner told hip hop website Rap-Up. “Chris got other projects that he’s working on now where he’s doing a lot of rapping and giving you all types of flavor, but on this one, he really wanted to sing and go at it. He was like, ‘We’re gonna kill ’em with this R&B.'”
George Clooney is back on set Looking well after scooter accident!
George Clooney doesn’t let something like a pesky scooter accident keep him from work — the Oscar winner was back to work today on the set of his upcoming project “Catch-22” in Sutri, Italy.
Just ten days ago, the actor was hurled from his scooter after the driver of a Mercedes failed to stop at a turn. Video of the crash surfaced and it looked pretty brutal, so it was remarkable that Clooney walked away with no broken bones and only minimal injuries.
He was spotted a few days later, heading out of Italy with his wife Amal and their two children.
Clooney is back in Italy shooting his triumphant return to the small screen in a six-episode limited series, “Catch-22,” based on the Joseph Heller novel set in WWII.

It’s been 2 1/2 years since Ri Ri dropped her last album, Anti, and in the interim she has given us everything except new music. Make-up, lingerie, perfume — the Barbados-born singer has a full on beauty empire happening, but her fans still aren’t happy and have been practically begging for some new hits. Well, it sounds like the pop diva may be on the verge of dropping not one, but TWO albums to whet their palettes.
Apparently, Rolling Stone has all the tea and revealed this pipping hot sip today:
“For more than a year, Rihanna and her label Roc Nation have been hunting for beats as they work to complete an album devoted to exploring the singer’s Caribbean roots, according to conversations with eight sources close to the project. In addition, two of those sources suggest that the singer is simultaneously at work on another pop-oriented album.”
That’s right we can expect a reggae album and possible a pop album, too. Let the Navy say, Amen!
On the dancehall side, it’s rumored that Supa Dups, the veteran producer behind Drake’s “Controlla,” was “one influence” on Ri’s upcoming project. In addition, Rihanna’s team may have received upwards of “500 records for this project from different producers and writers.” That’s a lot of submissions to sort through, y’all!

#RIP Vikings OL Coach, Ex-Dolphins, Raiders HC Tony Sparano Dies at Age 56
The Minnesota Vikings announced that offensive line coach Tony Sparano died unexpectedly early Sunday morning. He was 56.
The team's owners, Mark and Zygi Wilf, released the following statement:
“Our hearts go out to Jeanette and the entire Sparano family as we all mourn the loss of Tony. Tony was a passionate and driven individual who cared deeply about his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Tony's presence within the Vikings organization will be deeply missed. We are only thinking of Tony’s family during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that the entire NFL and Vikings family keep the Sparanos in their thoughts."
Chris Mortensen of ESPN (via Adam Schefter) reported that Sparano "complained about chest pains" and went to the hospital Thursday but was released Friday after testing.
Mortensen (via Schefter) added Sparano was about to leave for church when he was found unconscious and could not be revived.

A cause of death remains unknown.
Sparano began his NFL coaching career in 1999 with the Cleveland Browns as a quality control coach and offensive line coach before stints as a tight ends coach for Washington (2001) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2002). He then spent five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, serving multiple roles, before the Miami Dolphins hired him as a head coach in 2008.
Sparano spent four seasons as Miami's head coach, going 29-32 and leading the team to a playoff appearance. His time in Miami is perhaps most famous for the wildcat formation that Miami utilized to catch teams off guard, with running backs taking a direct snap from center, starting a fad around the league.
In 2012, he served as the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets before spending two seasons with the Oakland Raiders, which included a 12-game stint as the team's interim coach in 2014.
From there, he returned to his roots as a tight ends coach in San Francisco for a season before being hired by Minnesota to coach the offensive line in 2016.
#RHOP’s Ashley Darby Talks Karen Huger’s Living Conditions, Her ‘Lies’ and Gizelle’s Accusations!
The Real Housewives of Potomac star, Ashley Darby, just loves to dig for dirt, and one of her favorite targets is her co-star, Karen Huger, and it’s not difficult to understand why.
For starters, she believes that Karen is no longer living in the home in Great Falls that she moved to with her husband Ray Huger, and that, instead the couple is residing in Ray’s bachelor pad. She got that scoop straight form Karen’s ubiquitous friend/assistant, Matt, and when she confronted Karen, she denied it. But Ashley’s got plenty of other sources, as well, and they all say Matt is right on the money!
“I had my suspicions about Matt and his Houdidni appearing act from the very beginning,” she explained in her Bravo blog post. “So when this news came to, there were two thoughts. First, it’s not cool for someone to take advantage of during this time in her life. Secondly, there were already rumors whirling around the DMV, (DC, Maryland, Virginia) and hearing this from someone close to the source, herself was confirming.”
The next issue, of course, is Karen’s marriage. She’s admitted that her husband, Ray, once asked for a divorce, but said it was “years ago” and that everything is now fine and dandy in Huberville. But the other ladies weren’t quite buying that, especially after Gizelle Bryant’s explosive revelations about Ray’s alleged massive crush on her business partner, Erika Liles!
Karen brushed the allegations about her husband off, but Ashley was there when Ray and Erika met, and she thinks it’s totally possible that he’s crushing on her.
“As for what transpired between Gizelle and Karen, I was intrigued!” she wrote. “I also attended said Christmas party, and distinctly remember seeing Ray and Karen, as well as Gizelle and Erika. While I didn’t witness the interaction between Ray and Erika, Karen’s previous comments about her husband deem it’s not implausible.”
After last week’s episode, there were more revelations, including the conspicuous absence of Karen’s wedding ring, and Ashley’s claim that Ray has said that he’s moving to Florida with or without his wife! Karen continued to deny any trouble, but Ashley revealed that she’s simply fed up with the lies, and that she confronted Karen with the claims to give her a chance to come clean, for once.
“At that point in time that we were sitting at that restaurant in Cannes, I had about all I could take of Karen’s fables,” she explained. It’s hard enough for me to sit next to someone who doesn’t value truth, yet claims she ‘walks’ in it–she first needs to learn to crawl toward authenticity. By no means do I aim to contribute to Karen and Ray’s issues; however, I firmly believe that Karen could be capable of actually understanding how fed up people are with being lied to. Because I think we can be genuine friends, it is worth confronting her for truthfulness. I gave her the option to step out of her comfort zone and build genuine relationships, yet access was again denied.”
Well, I suspect we’ll get to the bottom of this very soon.
Faith Evans' Marriage License No Mention Of Marriage To Notorious B.I.G.
Faith Evans married Notorious B.I.G. in '94, but you wouldn't know it based on her recent marriage license -- it makes no mention of her marriage to the legendary rapper -- but Faith is blaming the court for the error.
The website TMZ has obtained a copy of Faith's marriage license docs and in it she lists her marriage to Stevie J as marriage no. 2. The document references her divorce from Todd Russaw back in 2012, and that's the other marriage. So, what happened to Biggie?
As you know, Faith and Biggie -- labelmates with Bad Boy Records -- tied the knot back in August of 1994 within days of meeting each other. They separated shortly before his 1997 murder.
As for why the document seems to overlook the Faith/Biggie union. Faith tells us the clerk at the marriage license bureau screwed up. She insists she told the clerk the marriage with Stevie was her 3rd.
Evans adds, "Biggie was my first true love, he will always be acknowledged as such. Everyone knows he was my husband."

R&B Singer Tank Marries Longtime Girlfriend Zena Foster
R&B star Tank got married to his girlfriend Zena Foster on Sunday, July 22nd. The couple who have two children together tied the knot before 200 friends with actor, Jamie Fox as groomsman. The ceremony took place at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles. The reception followed shortly at Los Angeles’ Alexandria Ballrooms.
On finding his way back to Zena, splitting after having their daughter, reuniting and getting married, the Maybe I Deserve hit singer shared with People:
All the mistakes that we’ve made still didn’t change the fact that I loved her that much and wanted this for us. They say ‘In God’s own time’ and he really put some time together with us, to make this what it is.”

R Kelly Drops 19-Minute Song ‘I Admit’ Addressing ‘Pedophile’ and ‘Sex Slave’ Accusations
The R&B singer released 19-minute track “I Admit” on Monday — the song, which includes chorus “I admit it/I did it,” covers the accusations that Kelly kidnapped women and held them as sex slaves, and the allegation that he slept with underage girls.

Sara Haines is Leaving ‘The View’ To Do Third Hour Of ‘GMA’ With Michael Strahan!
It’s official. ABC News confirmed Monday that Michael Strahan and Sara Haines have been named co-hosts of “GMA Day”, the third hour of Good Morning America. It premieres at 1 PM Monday, September 10, on ABC.
Haines marks the second exit from The View unveiled in four days, as ABC News said Wednesday that three-year co-host Paula Faris is leaving the show — and her weekend GMA duties for a new assignment that includes contributing to Good Morning America and a podcast on faith.
ABC News announced in May that GMA would expand to a third hour as a replacement for canceled culinary show The Chew.
GMA’s growth resembles NBC News’ continuous expansion of Today, which now runs four hours. Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reported in May that the rationale behind the decision to replace The Chew with GMA is that the latter is cheaper to produce and draws higher multiple from advertisers. The move will not impact the syndicated Live With Kelly & Ryan, which follows the first two hours of GMA in many markets, or The View, which often follows it.
Because of that and a noon local newscast in many markets, the third hour of GMA will air in The Chew‘s 1-2 PM slot three hours after the morning show’s second hour.; NBC’s Today block is a solid four hours
Chris Pratt & Zoe Saldana speaks out in regards to James Gunn's Firing from 'Guardians of the Galaxy'
Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana have both spoken out on Twitter following the firing of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.
Gunn was removed from the third film in the Marvel franchise after right-wing activists dug up some controversial tweets that the director wrote many years ago.
“It’s been a challenging weekend I’m not gonna lie. I’m pausing myself to take everything in before I speak out of term. I just want everyone to know I love ALL members of my GOTG family. Always will,” Zoe wrote.
Chris didn’t directly reference the controversy, but he tweeted out a bible verse from the book of James that deals with the issue.
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger,” he posted.
Their co-star Dave Bautista has already spoken out to support Gunn and a petition was started to reinstate him as the director of Guardians 3.
Fatal Stabbing Shuts Down MacArthur BART Station In Oakland
OAKLAND BART authorities confirmed that the MacArthur station in Oakland was shut down Sunday night after a stabbing that left one woman dead and a second injured.
The alert that the station was closed due to police activity posted on the transit agency’s Twitter account at 9:49 p.m.
While trains were rolling through the station, they were not stopping, officials said.
BART police chief Carlos Rojas later confirmed that the activity was related to a stabbing that left two people injured.
BART officials later confirmed that two young women were stabbed in the incident and that one victim died. The second was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Officials said the suspect in the attack, a white male, was still at large.
BART officials were investigating the incident and were uncertain what led to the attack or whether it happened on a train or on the station platform.
Police were searching the train and the platform for evidence in addition to reviewing video from security cameras.
Transit officials said the station, a major BART transfer point, would remain closed for the rest of the evening, but would likely reopen for the morning commute.
