Viola Davis, John Legend, Riz Ahmed and More Stars Land Covers for Time's 100 Most Influential
The list is out!
As is tradition, Time released its annual list of the 100 most influential people for 2017, featuring power players from all walks of life. Among the familiar faces on the list are acclaimed Hollywood stars like Oscar winners Viola Davis and Emma Stone, comedians like Leslie Jones and Jordan Peele, musicians like Alicia Keys and Demi Lovato, TV personalities like James Corden and RuPaul, athletes like Colin Kaepernick and Simone Biles, tech titans like Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and world leaders like President Donald Trump and Pope Francis.
In addition to Davis and Bezos, John Legend, Melinda Gates and Riz Ahmed were also chosen for five of this year's covers. As Lin-Manuel Miranda excitedly wrote about the Star Wars actor, "Look! We're alive at the same time as Riz Ahmed! Look!"
Xi Jinping, president of the People's Republic of China, appears on the list for his eighth time, the most of anyone featured this year. Activist for LGBT rights, Gavin Grimm is the youngest person on the list at 17 years old while Sandra Day O'Connor, the first female Supreme Court Justice, is the eldest at 87.
Notable figures like Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey and Buzz Aldrin also worked behind the scenes to pen tributes to this year's featured influential people.
Supermodel and entrepreneur Tyra Banks honored model and body activist Ashley Graham for her ongoing contributions to the fashion industry. "Every Graham of her body embraces anyone who ever doubted themselves," Banks wrote. "It is time for everyone to bow down to the fashion industry's—no, make that beauty's—new queen."
"He's like a fighter who pops back up on his feet before you even noticed he'd been knocked down," Taylor Swift said of her friend, Ed Sheeran.
"Like no one else—that's what Margot Robbie's like," Wolf of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese described his leading lady.
"Anyone—friends and fans alike—can tell you that James doesn't take himself, or others, too seriously," Elton John described Corden. "And that's why he's able to make us laugh, cry and sing—sometimes all at once."
This year's issue will hit newsstands April 21.

#NEWHIPHOP from Big Boi Feat. Adam Levine – ‘Mic Jack’
Big Boi just announced his Boomiverse LP and released its “Kill Jill” single with Killer Mike and Jeezy, but he isn’t done dropping new music. On Thursday (Apr. 20), Daddy Fat Saxxx unleashed his Adam Levine collaboration, “Mic Jack.”
From the outset, it’s clear that the DJ Dahi-produced “Mic Jack” is a tribute of sorts to Michael Jackson with its name, its beat, and its MJ-like screams in the background. But it’s also clearly a nod to the classic OutKast track “SpottiOttieDopaliscious.”
“Ni**as still ain’t fuckin’ with Hollywood Court,” raps General Patton. “But stay fuckin’ wit’ ya boi like the Hollywood dope / Everything Big, no comin’ up short / Jack the buzzer beater up, all net, half court.”
The line is reminiscent of the aforementioned Sleepy Brown-assisted slapper off Aquemini, in which André 3000 says: “It’s only about 3 a.m. and three ni**as just done got hauled off in the ambulance, two ni**as done start bustin’, and one ni**a done took his shirt off talkin’ ’bout, ‘Now who else wanna fuck with Hollywood Court?’ It’s just my interpretation of the situation.”
The Maroon 5 frontman lends a hand, offering a melodic hook with robotic effects. “You’re hotter than July,” he sings. “Super colder than December / You got me dancing / The dance floor tells no lies / Give them something to remember / You got me dancing.”

Daddy Fat Saxxx will be “dancing” his way onto “The Tonight Show” on April 24, where he will perform “Mic Jack” for the first time. Meanwhile, Boomiverse is set to drop in June.

Chris Brown owes a Tampa Nightclub $30,000
Chris Brown might have to pay $30,000 over incident at a Tampa nightclub.
A Tampa nightclub is seeking money from Chris Brown after he made a brief appearance, in which he allegedly punched a photographer early Monday morning then dipped. Because of his early exit, the club is asking for the “Party” singer to fork over the $30,000 that he was paid for his appearance. Brown was reportedly only in attendance for five minutes before engaging in the brawl and left the club right after the incident. (TMZ)
ISIS Claims Responsibility For Paris Shooting That Killed Policeman
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Paris shooting that left a police officer dead today, several news organizations reported after hours of speculation.
CNN reported on its website just after 2:30 PM PT that the sole shooter was “known to French security services for radical Islamist activities,” and that the immediate “danger is likely over.”
The incident began just before 9 PM local time Thursday on the Champs-Élysées in central Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe, when a gunman jumped out of a car that had pulled up to a police vehicle, then opened fire, killing a police officer and wounding at least two others. A spokesman for the French Interior Ministry confirmed that the gunman was shot dead while fleeing on foot.
French police put the area under lock-down as the Paris prosecutor’s office began a terrorism investigation. The incident comes just three days before Sunday’s first round of the country’s presidential election.
The cable news channels had held off on confirming the shooting as terrorism, even as President Donald Trump, speaking at a previously scheduled press conference, already suggested as much. “What can you say, it just never ends,” Trump said.
“Our condolences from our country to the people of France,” Trump said during the televised joint presser with Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella at the White House. “Again it’s happening, it seems. I just saw it as I was walking in. It’s a terrible thing, and it’s a very, very terrible thing that’s going on in the world today. But it looks like another terrorist attack, and what can you say? It just never ends.”

Prince’s estate sues over release of song by producer
Millions of Prince fans were delighted when a previously unreleased song was made available to the public by a former producer. The song titled ‘Deliverance’ was posted to iTunes and SoundCloud by Rogue Media Alliance and producer George Boxill. However, lawyers for the singer’s estate are crying foul and have filed a federal lawsuit against the producer and RMA. According to estate lawyers, Boxill had a confidentiality agreement that stated all recordings “would remain Prince’s sole and exclusive property.”
The lawsuit maintains that the agreement with Boxill states that he “would not use any recordings or property in any way whatsoever” and “he would return any such recordings or property to Prince immediately upon request.”
Because Boxill did not return the masters or recordings and has shared the tracks with third parties, he has violated his contract. In addition, one clause in the confidentiality agreement states that Boxill has “no right to give interviews or write books, articles, etc.” The estate and Paisley Park claim a release of the so-called “Prince Recordings,” would hurt its interests “permanently and irreparably.” It would hurt business relationships, but more importantly, “it deprives Prince (and now the Estate) from choosing what is released to the public and when.”
The suit asks for Boxill and any associates working on this to return the Prince recordings and refrain from using anything Boxill obtained with his sessions with Prince. In addition, the estate and Paisley Park would like “any and all masters, copies and reproductions” returned.
The estate lawyers issued the following statement:
“The Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson is aware that Mr. George Ian Boxill, in conjunction with Rogue Music Alliance, has issued a press release announcing intent to distribute previously unreleased Prince master recordings and musical compositions. The Estate has not authorized any such release and is not affiliated with either Mr. Boxill or Rogue Music Alliance. During his unparalleled career, Prince worked with many sound engineers, including Mr. Boxill. Like the other engineers that had the opportunity to work with Prince, Mr. Boxill signed an agreement, under which he agreed (1) all recordings that he worked on with Prince would remain Prince’s sole and exclusive property; (2) he would not use any recordings or property in any way whatsoever; and (3) he would return any such recordings or property to Prince immediately upon request. Mr. Boxill did not comply with his agreement. Instead, Mr. Boxill maintained copies of certain tracks, waited until after Prince’s tragic death, and is now attempting to release tracks without the authorization of the Estate and in violation of the agreement and applicable law. The Estate is taking immediate legal actions to prevent Mr. Boxill’s continuing violations of his agreement and the rights of the Estate and its partners in Prince’s recordings. Any dissemination of the recordings and underlying music compositions, or fixation of the same in any audiovisual work or otherwise, is unauthorized and in violation of the Estate’s rights to the master recordings and musical compositions.”
Kim Kardashian Calls Out Blac Chyna, Says She & Rob Are 'Just Not Meant to Be'
Kim Kardashian has apparently just about had it with her brother Rob‘s relationship with Blac Chyna.
The 36-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star got real with Rob, 30, in a sneak preview for an upcoming episode of the reality show.
Late last year, Chyna reportedly left her then-fiance and took their daughter Dream with her. That’s when Kim approached Rob.
“I’ve always been super cool with [Chyna],” Kim tells him. “I have a different relationship with her than what you guys have with Kylie and I always hear her out and stuff, but just seeing the motives is, like, what’s hurtful.”
“I’ve always felt like them as a couple just isn’t that healthy, and I think they know that, too,” Kim adds. “It’s not, like, some secret. Rob can be really irrational and he just has to learn to really take responsibility for himself and not blame it on Chyna. This just all has to stop. It’s so clear what this relationship is and they’re just not meant to be with each other.”
