The Daily Buzz For Dec 6

Sofia Richie Stuns in Bikini While Draped With a Snake on 'Complex' Cover!

The 18-year-old model covers the December/January issue of Complex, where she dons a bikini and a .very large snake for a photo shoot that definitely finds the intersection of sexy and terrifying,
During the accompanying interview, Richie reveals that her method of dealing with her fashion industry "haters" is simply to not pay them any mind.
“It’s not like I called and begged these designers to work with me,” she tells the publication. “They felt my vibe and we were cool and that’s that. People obviously don’t respect some of the shoots I do because I’m short and this or that, but I really don’t let that stuff get to me.”

Richie, whose father is legendary singer Lionel Richie, adds that it also helps having grown up with similar life experiences as fellow models Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as Gigi and Bella Hadid.
"We all grew up the same way, so we all kind of had that understanding of everything," she explains. "Just a looking-out-for-each-other kind of sense—sisters."
"It’s hard to find people in L.A. that you can actually trust," she continues. "So when you find that, you really need to hold onto it and savor it."
With that being said, Richie -- who had a fling with Justin Bieber earlier this year -- doesn't regret the path she's taken.
"I feel like I grew up kind of fast," she says. "But I love my life and the way I grew up."

Hip Hop News: J. Cole Reveals ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ Tracklisting
Is J. Cole about to go platinum again with no features?
The rapper’s label Dreamville has revealed the back cover and tracklisting for his fourth album, 4 Your Eyez Only, and it appears to once again contain no guests.

The 10 tracks include “Immortal,” “Deja Vu,” “Neighbors,” and “Ville Mentality.” However, two tracks from his 40-minute documentary Eyez are absent, “Everybody Dies” and the controversial “False Prophets.” On the latter, he took subliminal shots at Drake, Kanye West, and Wale. They could be listed under different titles or not included at all.

One thing is clear though: Cole is making sure the music speaks volumes. “You get to this height or this level in your career, in terms of platform, the next one might go down, it could go up,” he explained in Eyez. “You’re never guaranteed to be this high again. While I’m here, let me use this opportunity to say the realest shit I’ve ever said.”
Cole’s 2014 album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 before being certified double platinum.

4 Your Eyez Only (Dreamville/Interscope) is now available for pre-order and will be in your hands Friday, Dec. 9. See the tracklisting below.

SHAMEFUL! Walter Scott Shooting: Judge Declares Mistrial in Murder Trial of Former Cop Michael Slager
A judge declared a mistrial Monday afternoon in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man at the hands of a South Carolina former patrolman, after the jury said they could not come to a unanimous verdict.

In a statement read by Circuit Judge Clifton Newman, the jury said "We as the jury regret to inform the court" that they were unable to come "to a unanimous decision in the case of the state versus Michael Slager" after a day of questions and deliberation.
"The court therefore must declare a mistrial in this case and I so declare that this case is mistried," he said after the jury returned to the room and confirmed their decision.
Scott's death on April, 4, 2015 was captured on video by a bystander and took the nation by storm during the heat of a debate over police brutality against men and women of color.

Scott's mother, Judy Scott, gave an emotional statement after the verdict, saying she "knows justice will be served."
"God is my strength and I know without a doubt that he is a just God and injustice will not prevail," she said.
Scott added that "we have the federal trial and another trial to go — I'm just waiting on the lord, I'm going to rest in the lord."
"I don't care how it looks, it's not over — you all hear me — it's not over, until God says it's over," she said.
Scott family attorney Chris Stewart said the mistrial was a "missed opportunity to heal a lot of wounds in the country" and "to remind the good officers that put on that badge that they aren't Michael Slager."

"If you thought that we were going to come out here crying or weeping or weak, you don't know the Scott family. That was round one — we've got two more rounds to go," he said, adding that solicitor Scarlett Wilson planned to try the case again as soon as she could.
Wilson released a statement later Monday, saying "We will try Michael Slager again."

The solicitor also stood in support of the Scott family, adding "We are grateful for their patience, understanding and cooperation with us. They have not received the credit they deserve in their calm leadership for the community. The Scotts have been a sterling example of dignity and grace in extraordinary circumstances."
Walter Scott's brother, Anthony Scott, called on the public to "keep your head high" and protest peacefully.
He added that while he hoped to find peace he could not yet forgive Slager.
"In my heart I will find the peace to forgive Slager for doing that, but in this present time until my family can see justice, no, there's no forgiveness," he said.

"I think there was malice and forethought, I think it was murder," he added.
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said in a statement Monday evening that "It is my understanding that there will be, as quickly as possible, a new trial where the Scott family and all of South Carolina will hopefully receive the closure that a verdict brings."
"Justice is not always immediate, but we must all have faith that it will be served — I certainly do," she said. "I urge South Carolinians — in Charleston and across our state — to continue along the path we have walked these last two years: a path of grace, faith, love and understanding."
The jury, which consisted of 11 white men and women and one black man, had remained undecided on Monday in the murder trial.

The defense in ex-patrolman Michael Slager's the five-week trial claimed that he feared for his life when 50-year-old Walter Scott got control of the officer's stun gun and pointed it at him.

Witness In Joe McKnight Murder Has Vital Evidence But Has Not Been Contacted
Just a day after a press conference was held by Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand, telling the press and community that Ronald Gasser did not stand over Joe McKnight’s body and shoot him, a new witness may be able to somewhat prove otherwise. So much for that “the witness’ account was factually incorrect” excuse, eh?

A witness has come forward to say that after Gasser shot McKnight, he exited his vehicle and stood over McKnight’s body. She then distinctly remembers Gasser yelling, “I told you I was going to f**k you up.” This witness also has a photo that may prove this.
This is not the same witness that spoke to NOLA.com and despite Sheriff Normand saying that investigators are still trying to track down witnesses, this witness says she gave cops her info and hasn’t heard from them since.
The witness that spoke to NOLA.com gave a similar account of what happened. The only difference is she says Gasser shot McKnight one more time while standing over him. Otherwise their accounts are pretty consistent. Regardless, Gasser has not been charged with a crime yet.

The new witness says moments after the shooting, Gasser put the gun on top of his car and paced back and forth for a while. He then took the gun and put it inside of his car while waiting for police to arrive. When cops arrived he informed them that the gun was in the vehicle.

The Weeknd still uses drugs for writer’s block: ‘Drugs were a crutch for me’
The Weeknd has another hit album on his hands with Starboy. His last album, Beauty Behind the Madness, was a huge success too, and now Starboy has debuted at #1 on Billboard for its first week of sales. What’s interesting about The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – is that he really doesn’t go a traditional route to promote his music. As in, he’s not doing tons of magazine interviews or music-industry press. He only did a handful of interviews for Beauty, and this Guardian interview is one of the few extensive sit-downs I’ve read with Abel so far. You can read the full Guardian piece here – a Guardian journalist traveled to Rotterdam to spend hours in Abel’s hotel room, listening to him talk sh-t about drugs, hair and music. Some highlights:

Being able to wear hats again after cutting off his dreads: “I think I felt a single tear come down my cheek.”
His height (he’s 5’7”): “Thinking about putting lifts in my sneakers… Guess I’ve been hanging out with too many supermodels.”

Whether he thinks his lyrics are misogynistic or callous: “Oh, for sure… The mind of a 19-year-old is very different from the mind of a 26-year-old. You grow. You get into better relationships. You experience more, meet more people, better people. But when you’re in a dark hole, at an earlier point in your life – you write about the mindset you’re in at that moment. I don’t think I’d ever apologise for music I make, no. But there are regrets in my life, of course. And you write about it.”

Whether he ever thought about going into therapy: “No. Definitely not. I think that’s more when you’re privileged, you know? Going to a therapist is not something you do when you’re growing up as a street kid in Toronto.” He wriggles in his seat. “Sorry, bro.”

His drug use: “When I had nothing to do but make music, it was very heavy. Drugs were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record that were seven minutes long, rambling – whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time. I can’t see myself doing that now…I’ll be completely honest with you. The past couple of albums, I do get back to that… Even on this new album. You have writer’s block. And sometimes you’re like, I can’t do this sober.” He recalls how, back in February, he decided to call off a summer tour in Europe to write the new record. “I cancelled it and something happened to my inspiration. I guess it was the weight on my shoulders. I’d cancelled a tour – a lot of money. I had these ideas, but I couldn’t put them on wax. If you were a psychologist, you’d probably tell me there was stress in my life, taking away from my work.” So what happened? “I had to get that little jump.” In the studio, out came the weed, the Hennessy, probably a few more things. “And the ball started rolling. And then I didn’t need it any more.” I ask if there’s a dark version of all of this, a version where at some point he’s not able not to turn to drugs. “Right now, I feel in control,” Tesfaye answers, frankly. “Where it takes me after, I don’t know.”

[From The Guardian]
I know The Weeknd has been accused of sexism or misogynoir, but from what I can tell… his lyrics are no better or worse than most of the younger male musical acts – the musical acts that aren’t trying to be straight-up pop music. Part of The Weeknd’s appeal is that while this album and the last album were billed as straight pop music, he’s still got that dirty edge he had when he was just making music for himself. I don’t know. I also take his point that how he felt about women when he was 19 isn’t the same as how he feels about them at 26. As for the drug stuff… I hope he keeps his eye on that. That’s another thing that should shift as a person gets older, where you don’t need drugs or alcohol to sleep/create/take the edge off. But it sounds like he still needs it. Ugh.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Custody Battle Will Be Decided By a Therapist
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s temporary custody agreement will be reportedly be determined by their therapist.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, it will be up to a man named Ian Russ to decide whether the Allied actor can see the children or not. Pitt, 52, will also be required to continue his individual therapy and is expected to submit to random drug testing at least 4 times per month.
The deal, which was signed by a judge on Friday (Dec. 2, 2016), also requires Pitt and Jolie to participate in group therapy sessions with their children: Maddox, 15; Pax, 13; Zahara, 11; Shiloh, 10; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

As previously reported, the actress has primary custody, while her soon-to-be ex-husband gets monitored visits. The terms of the custody agreement will remain in effect until there is a court order to change it or both parents agree to new changes.
