#MAGFAB: Dwayne Johnson for Esquire - Summer 2026
His last role earned Oscar buzz, and he’s got projects lined up with three of Hollywood’s greatest directors. He’s officially a Disney icon—thanks, MOANA—and you should really try his tequila. But he’s got more important things on his mind. “Dwayne Johnson Would Like a Word, Please” by Ryan D’Agostino is on Esquire.com now and in the Summer issue, available by June 16 everywhere magazines are sold.
On his testicular health scare after finding a lump: “I didn’t even tell Lauren,” he says of his wife, whom he has known for almost twenty years and been married to for seven. “I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about…By the way: I’m fine…But I didn’t know that then, and the thing was really painful.” He finally called his doctor late Sunday. First thing Monday, the doc felt the lump and said it was probably epididymitis, inflammation of a tube at the back of the testicle that stores sperm, but it could be cancer. What’s your schedule today? the doctor had asked. Johnson told him about the all-day Jumanji event. His doctor said Johnson needed to get an ultrasound first thing the next morning. “So I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing—and I had to be on all day, joking around, making speeches,” he says…“But! I’m okay. So.”
On not getting an Oscar nomination for The Smashing Machine: “It would have been incredible to get nominated for an Oscar…I realized very quickly that it’s a rare thing to reach this pinnacle where you’re even having these conversations. And it’s exciting! It would have been amazing. I wish it happened. But it didn’t. But in no uncertain terms did I ever thing, Oh, that doesn’t matter. I always thought it mattered. And it has lit a fire in my spine”—he laughs suddenly, as if surprised by his own artful phrase, then is serious again—“which is: Let’s go back to work.”
On not talking about politics: “What I have learned through experience,” he says, “is that I need to keep—need, not want—the main thing the main thing. And the main thing for me, the thing that in the morning I swing my legs out of bed and I run towards, is creating. It’s art. It’s storytelling. I’ve learned I’m going to keep my politics to myself. There are moments when, hey, there’s nothing we can’t talk about. If I’m wrong, I’ll tell you I’m wrong. Or if I feel like I got a leg up and this is the right way to go, I’ll share it with you. Politics is omnipresent and it’s forever. I don’t like it. [Laughs.] I hate it at times. I hate the slinging. I hate all the bullshot that comes with it.”

On the impression he makes on young men: “I’m hyperaware of my position, who I am and what I am to young men,” he says. “I know because I hear from them every day, Ryan, on social-media comments. DMs. Just guys out there. And I don’t want that to go away, because I know what it’s like to struggle as a young man and try to stay on the right track and make f*cked-up decisions and do things that are f*cked-up and pay the price, get arrested. So yeah, I’m aware.” He replies—not to all of them. He can’t. But he tries. He figures if they took the time to write him asking for help, they might listen to his answers if he writes to them personally, using their names, the way he does with me in this conversation. If he does that, he’s got a shot—“the shot that I’m talking about is a few things that help them identify what masculinity really means and to embrace it.”
On the possibilities and threats of AI: “I’ve always been an advocate for embracing big change—after taking a hard look at it,” he says. “We can either stick our heads in the sand and be afraid, or we can say, Okay, we’re here. Let’s see. Let’s explore.”

#RHOA: Porsha Williams Makes a Shocking Statement About Dennis After He Returns Her Engagement Ring

From multiple proposals to co-parenting, Porsha Williams' relationship with Dennis McKinley has gone through many ups and downs over the years. When Dennis attempted to return Porsha's engagement ring during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17, Episode 11, the roller coaster of emotions only continued, resulting in a fourth-wall break and a shocking statement on their future.
"Even though Dennis can be Dennis the Menace, I love him, and he's a really good father," Porsha remarked in a confessional, referencing their 7-year-old daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley. "I really couldn't ask for anything else other than that, even though we're not even together."
Later, Porsha stunned viewers by admitting that she'd actually considered reconciling with her ex-fiancΓ©. "In a perfect world, [I'd] love to be back with Dennis," she told a RHOA producer. "There is just another side to us that happens when we're together that I just don't like. I don't ever want to be arguing in front of Pilar. I have never introducer her to a toxic household at all."
Porsha went on to add, "For the sake of Pilar, I'll be damned if I literally bring her dad in the house for her to see us together as a family and then break up.
When Dennis arrived at Porsha's home during RHOA's June 14 episode, he was carrying a red Cartier box with her original engagement ring inside. At the time, he was upset about her recent public comments about dating both Patrice "Sway" McKinney and Mike Bless. From Dennis' perspective, he had "waited around" to possibly rekindle his romance with Porsha after her divorce from Simon Guobadia, but, given her dating life updates, there was "no point" in him "hanging around anymore."
After debating which of them was more "intentional" in their formerly romantic relationship, Dennis said, "Which brings me to the next point. So, I brought your ring back today. Here you go."
Upon seeing the 13-carat sparkler, Porsha broke down, blasting Dennis, "How dare you bring that ring over here! ... You f--kin' gave it to me twice, as an engagement that you f--kin' broke. You are the trauma! Not the drama, the f--king trauma."
Porsha noted that she "didn't know that he kept the ring." Accusing Dennis of "trying to be all nasty," she instructed him to either give the ring to Pilar or "get rid of it," but maintained that she did not want the diamond back. "That is mean as f--k," she vented. "Just for me to even open the box and look at it is messed up. Just for me to even see it is triggering to me."
After swiftly showing Dennis the door, Porsha went into another room and addressed the production team directly, breaking the fourth wall in the process. "Jesus, did you guys know he had a f--kin' ring?" she asked the crew through tears. "I mean, that's pretty f--kin' triggering."
In a confessional, Porsha added, "Dennis has crappy timing. I'm coming out of a divorce; I'm trying to rebuild. My heart is very soft right now, and here you come bringing up old feelings. I'm always thinking about Dennis' mental health, and I just would wish he would also do the same for me."
Things get spicy in the ATL, as Porsha juggles two potential new love interests. Viewers can also expect changes in friendships, major relationship news, tea spilling, and shade throwing.
As mentioned, Dennis brought up Porsha's reveal during CultureCon in October 2025, that she had, at that point, narrowed down the dating pool to two "normal" people. ("He is nice, and she is nice," Porsha had told the Brooklyn, N.Y. crowd.) "You don't think you need to slow it down?" Dennis asked Porsha. "When you're dating, you don't gotta tell everybody what you got going on. You can't confuse my daughter like that."
Porsha responded, "First of all, no one has met Pilar. I'm just dating and enjoying being single. You had your opportunity. Do you not remember that?" (ICYMI: Dennis previously revealed on RHOA that Porsha asked for her engagement ring back around Christmas 2020. Before he could give it to her, however, she got engaged to Simon in May 2021 instead.)
She went on to remind Dennis, "When you did not bring it in December, I met someone. Boom, I got in a marriage," prompting him to clap back, "Yeah, guess what happened? ... Done." That's when Porsha retorted, "You're done. You happened just as fast, and you're done as well."

#HipHopNews: Jimmy Fallon To Host The New York Knicks & Wu-Tang Clan On Special Episode Of ‘The Tonight Show’
The New York Knicks had all five boroughs turning up for an entire weekend as they finally ended their 57-year drought and brought home that elusive NBA Championship Saturday night (June 13).
Looking to keep that euphoric feeling going into Monday night, Jimmy Fallon will be turning his Tonight Show into a special Knicks edition and will be calling on the talents of some killer bees to provide the entertainment as Deadline is reporting that the Wu-Tang Clan will be taking on musical duties during the show tonight (June 15).
Fresh off an inspiring comeback for the ages in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the Wu-Tang Clan helped reignite the jubilant vibes that New York was grooving to before Donald Trump ruined everything by inserting his presence into Madison Square Garden for Game 3, which ultimately led to the Knicks’ first loss in 46 days of playoff basketball.
Luckily, the Wu-Tang Clan came to the rescue in Game 4, which saw the Knicks erase a 29-point deficit and pull off a stunning comeback win to go up 3-1 in the NBA Finals before ultimately pulling off another comeback victory in Game 5 and bringing home that Larry O’Brien trophy.
Now we get to celebrate it some more.
The episode will feature appearances from Head Coach Mike Brown, NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and the entire Knicks team, as well as a performance by Wu-Tang Clan.
Fallon’s entire audience at 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s Studio 6B will be comprised of die-hard Knicks fans who were unable to attend the NBA Finals in person.
We. Can’t. Wait.

Mayor Mamdani Reveals Details On Knicks Ticker-Tape Parade Down Canyon Of Heroes To City Hall
Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Sunday revealed new details about Thursday's ticker-tape parade for the Knicks, fresh off their first title in 53 years.
The parade is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. near Battery Park and travel north along Broadway through the Canyon of Heroes before concluding at City Hall.
Mamdani will host a championship celebration and Key to the City ceremony on the City Hall Plaza immediately after the parade.
"As a fan, I haven't wanted to jinx it, but as the mayor, we've been preparing for all these logistics," Mamdani told ABC 7.
He also said that the Knicks reflect the never-give-up spirit of the city.
"I was reading a piece this morning that wrote about often times in our city's history, this kind of unity comes in a moment of tragedy, and it's so beautiful that this unity is coming from a moment of joy," he said.
The mayor previously announced that City Hall and municipal buildings across the city will be illuminated in blue and orange on the night of Thursday, June 18 in recognition of the victory.
Buildings confirmed to be lit include the David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building at 1 Centre Street and Brooklyn Borough Hall at 209 Joralemon Street. Additional city buildings may also participate in the tribute.
The celebration will mark the first ticker-tape parade in Knicks history.

Peacock Faces Backlash After UFC Fighter Insults Michelle Obama Live From White House
Authentic historical photos of unexplained sightings. I couldn't believe what I found.
Peacock faces serious questions after UFC fighter Josh Hokit’s offensive Michelle Obama remark aired live from the White House.
Josh Hokit turned the White House into a platform for disrespect when he screamed an offensive remark about Michelle Obama during his post-fight interview at UFC Freedom 250.
The incident has sparked serious questions about why Peacock allowed such hateful language to be
broadcast live from the nation’s most prestigious address, and whether the streaming giant bears responsibility for platforming the comment to millions of viewers.
UFC Freedom 250 was a historic sporting event held on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, 2026, marking the first time a professional combat sports competition took place at the presidential residence.
The card featured multiple fights and drew significant media attention due to its unprecedented venue and high-profile attendees.
After defeating Derrick Lewis with a second-round knockout, Hokit grabbed the microphone and declared, “Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?” to a crowd that visibly recoiled at the statement.
Moments earlier, he placed a chain around President Trump’s neck, which Trump subsequently removed.
The comment wasn’t addressed by the broadcast team, and the moment aired without editorial intervention.
What made this worse was how the comment amplified across social media.
Don Lemon, the former CNN host turned independent commentator, posted the clip on his Instagram account, reaching millions of his followers and extending the reach of Hokit’s insult far beyond the White House lawn.
The Trump-Lemon feud runs deep. Trump has repeatedly called Lemon “the dumbest man on television” and labeled his coverage “anti-Trump,” while Lemon has consistently criticized Trump’s rhetoric and policies.
Their animosity intensified after Trump’s DOJ charged Lemon in connection with a January 2026 anti-ICE protest at a Minnesota church, where Lemon was covering the demonstration.
Trump publicly blasted Lemon over his involvement, calling him a “loser,” and the charges became widely viewed as political retaliation against a vocal critic.
Michelle Obama’s supporters immediately mobilized on social media, defending the former First Lady and condemning both Hokit’s statement and the platforms that allowed it to spread without consequence.
Peacock has yet to issue a statement on whether it will implement additional content guidelines for future live sporting events.

Danny Simmons, Artist, Poet, Brother Of Russell Simmons & Rev Run, Has Died

Danny Simmons, the acclaimed artist, poet and longtime creative mentor whose influence reached far beyond his famous family, has died, leaving behind a lasting legacy of compassion and artistic expression.
Danny Simmons, the older brother of Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons and rapper Rev Run of Run–D.M.C., has passed away. He was an abstract expressionist artist, author, poet and philanthropist that contributed greatly to the world of art.
Danny Simmons, born in 1963, spent a lifetime creating art while his family built empires in music and entertainment. His cause of death was not immediately revealed.
His death was announced by Russell Simmons, who shared a heartfelt tribute reflecting on their close bond.
“He was the true artist in the family. Joey and I went into music—him as a poet and rapper, me as a producer—but he was the one who created from the deepest place,” Russell Simmons wrote on Instagram. “His poetry, art, and ideas shaped how we think and gave us the freedom to dream beyond limits.”
Danny Simmons carved out a path distinct from his famous siblings, supporting the arts. While Russell Simmons became one of Hip-Hop’s most influential executives and their brother Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons rose to fame as a founding member of Run-D.M.C., Danny Simmons became a respected force in visual art and community development.
Danny Simmons also helped conceive Def Poetry Jam, the widely popular spoken word/slam poetry event that eventually becoming an HBO series (2002-2007) through Russell Simmons. Initially, it gained notoriety through a successful Broadway run.
Beyond his artistic accomplishments, Danny Simmons was widely recognized as a mentor and advocate for creators, using his platform to elevate artists who often struggled to find opportunities in traditional spaces. His work consistently reflected themes of humanity, culture and spiritual exploration.
Russell Simmons also described his older brother as the emotional center of the family.
“He was the most compassionate of us, always the first to sacrifice, the most honest and loving,” Simmons said. “Danny was my best friend. We spoke every day. He taught me how to be a better human being and how to be a man.”
The family also released an official statement celebrating Simmons’ life and contributions.
“It is with a profound sense of loss that we honor and celebrate the life of Danny Simmons Jr., a beacon of love and creativity,” the statement read. “He was not just a brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and loving husband; he was a vibrant artist, dedicated supporter of creatives, and a cherished friend.”
The statement continued, “Though he has transitioned from this world, his legacy of kindness, generosity, and artistic brilliance will forever shine brightly in our hearts.”
According to Russell Simmons, the loss is deeply personal. The brothers maintained a daily connection and shared a relationship built on mutual respect, honesty and love.
Danny Simmons is survived by his wife, Keia Simmons, and his son, Jamel Simmons.
Danny Simmons had an influence that stretched far beyond galleries and poetry readings. In a family synonymous with cultural impact, Danny Simmons stood apart as the quiet visionary whose creativity inspired others to dream bigger, love deeper and live with greater purpose.
The family has requested privacy during this time.

Dwight Howard Says Estranged Wife Amber Howard Knew She Couldn’t Have Children & Tricked Him Into Marriage

Dwight Howard is making new allegations against his estranged wife, Amber Howard, amid their ongoing divorce battle.
According to TMZ, the former NBA star accused Amber — who is also known as rapper and reality television personality Amy Luciani — of having a “history of lying and manipulating” him throughout their relationship. Howard alleges Amber made false statements about him to law enforcement and has continued to spread misinformation about him during their split.
Howard also claims Amber knew she was unable to have children but “denied that fact and actively lied about” it, which he says played a role in his decision to marry her. In the filing, Howard alleges he was ultimately “tricked” into the marriage and described Amber as a “master of lies and manipulation.”
The latest accusations add another chapter to what has become an increasingly contentious divorce. Earlier this year, Howard filed for divorce, describing the marriage as “irretrievably broken.” Amber also sought a divorce around the same time, though Howard’s filing was reportedly processed first. The pair married in January 2025 after publicly celebrating their engagement and relationship.
Since their split, both Howard and Amber have made serious allegations against one another, including claims involving theft, stalking, threats, and other disputes that have spilled into court filings and police reports. The former couple’s legal battle has continued to play out publicly as each side pushes back against the other’s claims.
Amber is denying Howard’s allegations. Neither Howard nor Amber has publicly indicated whether a resolution in their divorce case is near.

Wanda Sykes Stands By Decision To Skip Kevin Hart Roast Amid Criticism
Wanda Sykes has expressed no regrets about opting out of participating in the roast of Kevin Hart, Thejasminebrand reports. This revelation comes amid ongoing discussions about the roast's controversial content and the comedian’s outspoken criticism of the event’s tone.
Before the roast was publicly announced, Kevin Hart personally invited Wanda Sykes to join the lineup. However, she chose to attend a Los Angeles Sparks WNBA game instead, Yahoo also reported, highlighting her deliberate decision to skip the event. Deadline and Variety further confirm that Wanda declined the Netflix special, which took place at the Kia Forum and was hosted by Shane Gillis, citing dissatisfaction with the writing. She criticized the roast’s humor as lazy and repetitive, relying heavily on sexist, racist, and homophobic jokes. Variety adds that other comedians like Chelsea Handler also condemned the show’s controversial material, specifically pointing to offensive jokes made by Tony Hinchcliffe and Shane Gillis.
Wanda Sykes is widely known for her work as a co-star and writer on "The Chris Rock Show," and she boasts a diverse filmography including appearances in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Monster-In-Law, and Barnyard. She has earned multiple award nominations throughout her career, notably for comedy and acting roles in television.
This stance from Wanda underscores an important conversation within the comedy community about the boundaries of humor and the responsibility of roasts to evolve beyond recycled and harmful stereotypes. Her decision to skip the event and speak out reflects a growing demand for more thoughtful, inclusive comedy in high-profile settings.

Dawn Richard's Lawsuit Against Diddy Dismissed

Former Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money member Dawn Richard’s lawsuit against Diddy has been dismissed.
On Monday (June 15), federal judge Katherine Polk Failla issued a 35-page opinion, throwing out all 18 of the singer’s claims against her former group-mate and label head. Richard was left the option to re-file one of them, Diddy’s alleged violation of New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act (VGMVPL), in state court.
None of Richard’s claims against Diddy were judged on their factual bases, with Judge Failla saying that, “if true, [they] are execrable.” Instead, 15 of the counts were dismissed for being past the statute of limitations, two (both over the song “Deliver Me”) for matters relating to copyright law, and one, concerning the VGMVPL, because the issue properly belongs in state court, not federal.
Richard had argued that her claims should be considered despite being past the statute of limitations, using several different legal doctrines. The judge, however, did not agree.
In her suit, Richard accused Diddy of subjecting her to years of horrific treatment, abuse and threats. She also recalled witnessing the mogul’s repeated abuse of his former partner, Cassie Ventura, and attending parties where Diddy arranged for “busloads” of women — including some who “appeared to be underage” — to attend, be given drugs and alcohol, and be “sexually violated” by him and his guests.
She filed her suit against Diddy back in September of 2024. At the time, the mogul responded by saying that he was "shocked and disappointed" by the suit, which he claimed was a "manufactured series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a payday."
One of Richard’s attorneys, Arick Fudali of The Bloom Firm, talked to Complex about Monday’s decision.
“We’re certainly disappointed in the dismissals,” he said. “However, we’re very encouraged that the judge chose not to dismiss with prejudice, and basically just refer the Gender Motivated Violence Act claim to state court.”
“We feel very confident in the Gender Motivated Violence Act claims,” he continued. “We believe those are our primary claims anyway. We’re encouraged with the ability to pursue our Gender Motivated Violence Act claims in state court.”
